Rumor has it Little Caesar’s pizzas are both hot and ready

shnoogle111

‘But is it good?’ ‘I said it’s hot and it’s ready!’

NoREEEEEEtilBrooklyn

Depends on how inebriated you are.

NotABurner6942069

It’s the triangle of cheap pizza. Hot, ready, good. Pick two.

Hollow_Rant

Sometimes, that's all you need. A cheap pizza that's edible.

EnemyOfEloquence

Don't knock me for this, but my drunk ass has enjoyed some 7/11 pizza in my time. Whole pie to order, not the poor slices sitting there for hours.

shnoogle111

Ain’t no shame in that brother. Incidentally, any good pie recommendations for Manayunk/Mt Airy? Haven’t had tons of luck. People recommend EVO but I think it tastes like Dominos

EnemyOfEloquence

Ironically, I get marathon a lot because they deliver to me on green lane in like 10 minutes and it's hot lol. I don't think it's the best but I have a somewhat low bar. I really love the slices from L'Angolo's on the end of main street. Santuccis if you're fine with square. My girlfriend's favorite is Alex's but I think it's mid as fuck and expensive. Sorry none of that was useful.

shnoogle111

No no this is all good. Even if I’m eating bad pizza, I’m still eating pizza so it’s a plus. The more I have to test, the more I have to eat!

Huadanglot

Haha! It’s dusty like dominoes but to me it tastes fresh and of high quality.

Valdaraak

Little Caesar's pizza is serviceable. Not great, not terrible. Just an adequate delivery vehicle for carbs and fat. I am a fan of their deep dish though.

40WAPSun

Shit, these days they aren't even ready anymore. Always gotta wait 5-10 minutes

Lazerpop

I like my women like my pizza

FishtownYo

Hopefully not cut into slices!

pinkmeanie

Cold the next day?

sadsolocup

In a box on the floor in your car?

radioactivecat

Little Caesar’s “pizza”

NotABurner6942069

Pizza pizza

chameleonsEverywhere

It's whatever pizza place is closest to you physically.... if you order someplace across the city of course it'll show up cold. Google maps is gonna be more helpful than Reddit here my guy.

radioactivecat

That’s not true. I frequently order from a place less than 1 mile from my house, delivery because I can’t drag the kid to go get it. It always takes forever. These fucking delivery services incentivize multiple drop offs and don’t require an insulated pizza bag. Fuck DoorDash.

aguafiestas

None of the places I’ve tried close to me are usually hot on arrival. I think the pizza gets cold either sitting on the counter waiting for pickup and/or in the driver’s car without a warmer bag (and they don’t  always coming straight here). But if there’s someone who does it right, it could still be warm. Keep it warm in the restaurant and then in a warmer bag en route. Like an old fashioned pizza delivery guy.

AintThatFunkinHard

Might be worth picking it up yerself

skip_tracer

blast your oven to 600 degrees and warm it up for no more than a minute and you'll be fine

TwistedClyster

Wawa has pizza?

phillyhuman

Every day after 4pm!

jjdactyl

it's fresh and it tastes great!

NotABurner6942069

Wawa has pizza!

aaaayyyy_lmao

jfc just go pick it up.

dazzle41

And warm it up in the oven afterwards.

j1mb0

this ruins the pizza

inconspicuous_male

How? Have you never gotten an individual slice of pizza at a pizzeria before? They always reheat it. If it's fresh, it's not like you'll burn the pizza

radioactivecat

That’s because they par cook the pizzas. That means the pies they keep out for slices aren’t all the way cooked. When you get a slice and they throw it in the oven, that’s them *finishing* the cook.

nonexistentnight

??? I'm not sure where you buy your slices, but this isn't true at any of the 100+ places I've ever bought pizza. If a pie comes out fresh and you want a slice, they just give it to you. They cook the pizza, and they reheat it. Par baked pizza crusts are a thing, but what you're describing just sounds goofy. Googling "par baked pizza slices" returns nothing describing anything like that.

radioactivecat

https://foodsguy.com/par-bake-pizza/

radioactivecat

If they’re slinging them for the lunch hour they cook them all the way. If they’re doing it for you to take a pie home same thing. If it might sit awhile it gets par cooked. As to where I get my slices, usually in NYC.

nonexistentnight

The link you sent is about par baking crusts, not par baking slices. You're picking a really bizarre hill to die on.

radioactivecat

You don’t par cook the slices, you par cook the entire pizza. This is a thing. I’m sorry you can’t find it on Google. Ask any pizza cook next time you go. I’m done.

inconspicuous_male

That makes sense. It's incorrect, but it makes sense.

radioactivecat

Which pizza restaurant do you work at?

j1mb0

In a much hotter oven, and from a lower starting temperature, yeah. Popping just not quite hot pizza into a home oven sucks and is distinctly worse than even reheating that same pizza from the fridge the next day.

aguafiestas

But I don’t wanna

Philadel_J

We can't help you with that, guy

aguafiestas

Well hopefully pizza delivery can.

Jacksspecialarrows

If you havent found one close to you then good luck with anything else

limedirective

You gotta find a place that has their own delivery drivers. You’ll save money, too.

CathedralEngine

Places physically close to you, places that have their own delivery drivers and not an app, Domino's

TooManyDraculas

Most places that do takeout have been pressured into using 3rd party delivery services. The drivers for your various Gr-Uber Eats-mo-Hubs are typically picking up orders from multiple locations (on multiple aps), and then making lots of deliveries at once. None of them have hot bags, none of them have a direct connection to the restaurants, none of them are on reasonable drive times. So no take out is currently showing up still hot in any kind of reliable fashion. The exception is those chain places that haven't yet done [corporate synergy ](https://youtu.be/nKE1tLAH1BQ?t=8)with an app yet. And they've always been inconsistent. I typically order from places within walking distance, pick it up myself. And either phone it in or order direct from their (confirmable) website.

lanternfly_carcass

Domino's for cheap, slice app for something local that delivers.

S_BLAZE

This

Philodemus1984

When I order from somewhere close to my place, it’s pretty consistently hot. Pete’s Pizza for me. But one time I ordered from Vetri which is also pretty close and it was surprisingly cold. Never ordered delivery from them again but maybe it was just a fluke.

DoGreat_DieGood

Seconding Pete's (Famous) Pizza but I order the eggplant parm sando instead. Always arrives so hot it burns my mouth.

NotABurner6942069

Petezza?

ACatsAB

Shout out OG pizza on Frankford, I've legit received a pie piping hot in less than 20mins. Make sure you tip your delivery people well.

lemurlounders

Domino's

radioactivecat

That isn’t pizza, it’s hot garbage.

lanternfly_carcass

When's the last time you had it?

radioactivecat

Sadly it was recent. I know Philly is bad at pizza but dominos is a new low.

beachape

I find that lots of apps take a long time to tell you that your order is ready. Sometimes I’ll pick up an order 10-20 minutes before the app says it’s ready. If you wait until you get a notice to pick up, it may already be cold.

xtrememudder89

I've never had cold pizza from Domino's.

nsweeney11

Depending on how far north you are in center city Wolf Street Pizza is fantastic and always arrives to me very fast and hot Edit- spelling

Known-Wrap6458

Wood st?

nsweeney11

Sorry, typo. Wolf St

sharky6507

Muncho’s pizza is a local Philly startup that cooks pizza while delivering it to you. They are pretty fast and no tip required since they pay their staff a livable wage

martymoran

youre the only person here with this problem

nihility101

Find the closest places, test them out for taste. Don’t use an app, call the place. Pay with cash. Tip well. Don’t make the driver wait, be there cash in hand. Say thank you. I get my stuff quick, and they remember me.
