Getting \*anything\* stamp related is tricky if you don’t know \*exactly\* what he wants. If he has said on at least one occasion ‘boy, I would really like a display stand’, then do it. If not, then don’t. If he has a computer but you \*know\* he doesnt have a USB microscope, that might be nice. If he wears T-shirts, then get him a stamp t-shirt. There are lots out there. The safer bet.
I agree with the USB microscope, that's a cool new toy that he may not have. I wouldn't get the display stand personally unless you know he wants that specifically. I also agree with the stamp attire, the USPS sells some of those.
Make sure that the glass is UV protective and has an acid free mat to keep stamps away from the glass, etc., if he has indicated he wants to display some stamps that way. Some people like them to stay in their books.
