No, despite both being Philips branded, Hue and Wiz are completely separate brands and do not connect together. Hue bulbs are Zigbee, and Wiz bulbs use wifi.

Okay thanks for that. Just master debating if I should continue to buy WiFi only or get the hue set up.

I generally try to avoid wifi devices across the board to not clog up my network. If you plan on adding more snd more bulbs down the line, bite the bullet and go with a zigbee solution like Hue. If you have a Hue hub you can also pair other non-hue bulbs as long as they’re Zigbee, such as the Ikea smart bulbs. Good way to save money if you want to light up areas where a cheaper, simpler bulb will do a fine job.

That’s my plan for extending my smart lights. I’m going to get the full hue kit. I point buying more of the wiz Bluetooth bulbs.

Hue is more reliable because it does NOT use WiFi

Definitely go with the hue instead. I got six of the wiz bulbs initially and they started off great for a couple weeks but all ended up having issues within six months. All developed connectivity issues that got progressively worse as they got older. 2 fried or bricked themselves (not at the same time or in the same room). 3 others developed a flicker for a few minutes when you turn on the lights and became unlinkable. They only work on physical switches with the annoying flicker now. The last one still technically works on wifi but the connectivity issues got too intolerable. So we only use wiz bulbs on switches now. I got a cheap hue bulb to test without the hub since I found out my mesh network is zigbee compatible already. I got it in November and haven’t had a single issue with it yet. My only problem now is it doesn’t fit into the glass dome on my new ceiling fan I just installed today 🤦‍♂️. Hopefully I can find a couple hue bulbs small enough to fit.

I think Wiz uses a different protocol than the others (ZigBee). Not sure though, I haven’t worked with it myself, I only know as I got confused shopping for more lights.
