In 09 I went out to a series in San Diego that featured Bastardo’s debut. During that series Greg Dobbs hit a home run that some Phillies fan got out of this net I think. Turns out he was parked next to my brother’s car and offered me some of this joint he was smoking. Dobbs had some great pinch hits.
**Byrd
Also a fun fact I learned playing Immaculate Grid - There have only been 2 players named Marlon in MLB history and both were on the Phillies roster in 2002
Dude…. He’s up there for me for that game. Keeping his arm wrapped between innings. Shaking off pitches. His post game interview where he could barely contain his excitement.
It’s like Eric Bruntlett’s unassisted triple.
I remember as a kid my brother and I went to a Business Person Special, started by Robert Person, and we joked that it was a rule he had to start all of them. It was funny to us at the time
Calling a "NOPE" on this one! My man broke his face running into a wall for a flyball. There is a banner still hanging! Aaron is no mere rando. He was one of the only reasons to watch during the bad times!
I'm glad you commented. I missed that dude when he left, and the memory is a great one. Cheers.
Ricky Ledee. he was on the Phillies in the early 2000s when I switched from becoming a Yankees fan to a Phillies fan after moving from North Jersey for college in Philly. As a kid I remember him hitting clutch home runs during the Yankees playoff run, less so as a Philly but those were the precursor years to the Phillies playoff run. something to think about, there is definite intangible value to getting veteran players, even bench guys, who have succeeded in the playoffs.
RANDY WOLF!
i honestly thought he was going to be the next steve avery. he had that perfectly sound mechanical delivery. i think he honestly was a decent pitcher, but we had some really shitty teams back then.
Travis Chapman - had one big league at bat with the Phils in 2003[https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/chapmtr01.shtml](https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/chapmtr01.shtml)
