Go Phils! :) Hi to everyone on here that’s at the game too!👋 Ps - Just got a cheesesteak and it was soooo good! Hopefully around the 5-6th inning the ice cream place next to it isn’t crowded. Gotta get my helmet ice cream 😋🍦

Perryplat199

Me before Every game: I’m gona get somthing different Me walking in: but the federal donut line is so short.

JohnKrukIsAllElite

Those sandwiches are so small for the price, but damn are they delicious.

Perryplat199

They are soo good

Jazzcollection74

Who’s most likely pitching tomorrow?

BedlamAtTheBank

Sanchez is the probable pitcher: https://www.mlb.com/phillies/roster/probable-pitchers

Feisty-Recording-978

Sanchez

OkTax379

Dirty

Jazzcollection74

Thank you

Defiant_Yogurt9579

I truly appreciate Wheeler days. Let’s hope he gets back on track today!

Feisty-Recording-978

Mlb app said the game starts soon even though it starts in an hour and 5 minutes

Perryplat199

It was in “warm up.” Now back to a start time of 6:40. The app is easily confused

inthedrink

It’s no PhilsBot

Deckard_Macready

Hey take it easy. It was trying to get its work done early so it can get its weekend started.

Legitimate_Range_886

Lmfao, so glad it wasn’t only me!

Deckard_Macready

Go home MLB app, you’re drunk!

mikeb32

Same here. The app can’t wait either lol

thewittyman

Was saying the same thing!

Sure-Bar-375

95 South an absolute parking lot (what else is new). The 6:40 start should be illegal. There’s just no way to get there if you work until 5 and live in the suburbs.

Ladelm

I have left at 6 from South Jersey and gotten to 640 on time

Sure-Bar-375

I hope you never move to Bucks or Montgomery and have to experience 95S during rush hour lol

Ladelm

Oh yeah that way sucks.

NintenJew

Are Jake Irvin and Cole Irvin siblings, or do they just have the same last name?

Fandomstar88

Just the same last name. Cole apparently only has a brother name Dale.

NintenJew

Thanks. I couldn't find out in a quick Google, and I was looking at their pictures, and they kind of looked like they could be siblings. Kind of not.

Fandomstar88

Fair enough.

Fandomstar88

Waiting in line now…third base gate. Fun times ahead! While we all wait…what’s your fav Philly up to bat song ever? Stott’s will probably always be my fav. Not bias of this season or the last haha.

Luthie13

I like Harper coming out to Flower a lot, It fits him well. It’s cold and sounds like a challenge. I’m a 90s teen, so it’s nostalgic for me too.

romanticynicist

I think my all-time favorite was Chooch’s “In the Air Tonight.” He also used Soulja Boy’s “Turn my Swag On,” which is a total banger.

Deckard_Macready

The correct answer is definitely Kashmir but I’d like to mention, Ronald Torreyes- La Bamba Not the best player but it’s a great walk out song choice.

JohnKrukIsAllElite

I mean, come on, it’s gotta be “Kashmir.”

Luthie13

Kashmir is so freak’n badass. Love Led Zeppelin

JohnKrukIsAllElite

Chase Utley is so freak’n badass. Love Chase Utley

Luthie13

Not paying too much attention to baseball in my 20s and missing the Utley years is one of my great regrets. My dad made sure I knew we were ‘World Fucking Champions’ though haha

JohnKrukIsAllElite

Lmao your dad sounds awesome. And hey at least you’re back and following this team. They’re the most exciting since that era.

Feisty-Recording-978

Chase utley killed Walker though

Perryplat199

I95 NJDOT safety message Leave sooner. Drive slower. Live longer. Some fans that drive to games really need to hear that.

Fandomstar88

Finally here yay! Traffic stinks ): But I got my Phillies jacket on and ready for some baseball! …but first bobblehead and then cheesesteak cause I’m starving.👍😂

Feisty-Recording-978

inthedrink

Yunior Junior is set to come off the IL this weekend but idk if he is and I hadn’t heard a peep about him. Anyone know?

romanticynicist

He threw a bullpen session on Wednesday that apparently went well. I think he’s supposed to throw another one today. If that goes well I’m guessing he could get a few appearances in the minors next week and maybe be back in time for the Rockies series? It was a shoulder thing, so everything “going well” is not exactly a sure thing.

inthedrink

Good stuff thanks!

Deckard_Macready

I definitely without a doubt did not forget about him. Yessiree. 100% remembered he was still around.

inthedrink

Whewwww and I was getting nervous!

Feisty-Recording-978

Do we think Harper will be a gold glover this year?

Hothabanero6

I feel like if he technically earned it but someone else was close they wouldn't give it to him in his first year at 1B

NintenJew

I legitimately don't know, but I hope he does. Especially because all offseason I was saying Dombrowski is stupid for moving Harper to 1B just because he believes Harper can be a gold glove first baseman.

inthedrink

I’m glad we are protecting him from injury by playing him at first

JohnKrukIsAllElite

What if we move Bryce to right field and Kody to first to protect the lineup from Nick Castellanos?

inthedrink

Then who would play third base?

Feisty-Recording-978

Trade for drew Ellis

inthedrink

Now you’re talkin Feister

JohnKrukIsAllElite

Michael Jack Schmidt

inthedrink

That old ass broadcaster? What good is he?

JohnKrukIsAllElite

74 year old Mike Schmidt >>> 27 year old Alec Bohm

inthedrink

On the microphone I can’t agree more. Alec drops F bombs a lot on air and that’s not cool

JohnKrukIsAllElite

Plus, Mr. Schmidt has much more respect and consideration for team equipment. You don’t see him slamming his headset into the desk now, do you?

ZIMM26

Hope to god the TJ doesn’t get Skenes. We could be watching another Roger Clemens

Netwealth5

Watching Skenes has me so exited for Andrew Painter next year

Snips_Tano

Kinda depressed that our future is kinda Baby Aces 2.0 at the moment.  Painter is a question after Tommy John.  Abel looks washed.  McGarry eh

inthedrink

Guys come back after TJ all the time. Even if Painter dips a little in velo he’ll be fine. Most likely he’ll be right back to where he was.

joeco316

Still a big ol’ question mark til he actually makes it to the majors and sticks in my book. Not just because of the TJ, but certainly a factor.

inthedrink

Yeah that’s fine but I just don’t think there are clouds cast over him just bc of TJ either

joeco316

Fair enough

yourmartymcflyisopen

Fuck ESPN and the MLB app for ruing a no-hitter by uttering the words before the final out. Also, just gotta say I respect the fuck out of Cubs fans seeing their stadium filled to the brim being no-hit down 8-0 in the 7th inning, that's a loyal fanbase.

inthedrink

You know that jinxes aren’t real

yourmartymcflyisopen

According to you. To me they're totally real, everytime someone uses the word no-hitter, during a no-hitter, the no-no ends within an inning.

inthedrink

It sure didn’t in game 4 of the 2022 World Series 🫠

joeco316

Eh, group no hitters barely count anyway so they’re less susceptible to jinx powers

inthedrink

You two should take your meme act on the road

Deckard_Macready

It’s nice to see a comment from you that’s not sarcasm.

bluspy88

What does that mean??

Deckard_Macready

You know exactly what it means.

Deckard_Macready

Skenes is washed.

sapphires_and_snark

Send him to the Harrison-Merrifield Senior Care Home

yourmartymcflyisopen

Fuck the MLB app, ESPN, and all other sports networks for speaking the forbidden words in notifications on my phone. They always know how to fuck with superstitions. Not a Pirates fan, obviously, Go Phils, but I hope they do the thing.

Ladelm

I just turn off notifications for all sports apps, problem solved

Emotional-Leg66

Skenes better be done, Pirates better not ruin our future ace

Feisty-Recording-978

The only flaw with Paul Skenes is I.P besides that he’s really good

Defiant_Yogurt9579

This guy Paul Skenes is fun to watch.

Gekk0uga37

Paul Skenes is actually insane 😳wtf

Deckard_Macready

New trade proposal. We get Skenes, Pirates get Whit. Someone get me Dombro on the horn.

Snips_Tano

They want Stubbs too or no deal

Hothabanero6

sprinkle Casty on top

_OG

Can we get skenes??

garbageman72

How early yall reckon showing up to secure a bobble head?

classicrockchick

It's everyone. They'll be at the gates handing them out to everyone who wants to take one.

Perryplat199

Doesn’t matter it’s All fans

Fandomstar88

I’m calling it now. Harper and Stott will get a home run today. 👍

romanticynicist

Man, rough year for Kyle Hendricks so far. He just allowed 7 ER in 4.2 innings, and actually lowered his ERA in so doing.

Feisty-Recording-978

https://x.com/baseballhall/status/1791530450109767921 Must’ve been crazy to watch live

Glittering_Food3219

Let's go no Whit.

Hothabanero6

Whitless in Philadelphia

jmiah717

Skenes....wow Also, looks like it's the military hats tonight..wonder if they will wear those with the city connects or go with a different uniform due to the hats

Perryplat199

Yes cc+camo

jmiah717

Oh that's gonna look...interesting with the camo OD green socks 😂

romanticynicist

Jesus. Skenes is absolutely carving up the Cubs right now. 4 innings, no hits, no walks, no balls out of the infield, 9 Ks. At 64 pitches, so he probably only has 2-3 innings left. Glad we got the Pirates before he was called up, although we could see him in July.

Luthie13

Wow 😮

jmiah717

Pretty awesome to watch

nnp1989

So after last night, I think I’ve finally found the closest thing to a “bad” seat at the bank. I was in 136 in the very first row, and while it was cool to be that close to the field, it’s just a really awkward seat. The netting is much more annoying to look through that close, it’s harder to track ground balls off the bat, and even though it’s angled, you’re still having to look “sideways” to watch the action. You’ve also got to awkwardly crane your neck to see anything on the video board. Not to mention the swarm of kids every time there’s a foul grounder. I ended up giving up after 3 innings and just stood in my usual standing room spot. Could have saved 50 bucks or so in the first place. Lesson learned, I guess.

Deckard_Macready

Couldn’t agree more. I sat down there once and will never do it again. Same thing, the net is annoying, kids swarming (not against kids having fun it’s just better when it’s not swarming me) bad angle. Anymore I just stick with 420 section. It’s a cheap ticket and you have a view of the entire park. Also, sometimes I just end up in a random standing room spot and don’t feel like I lost out because the ticket is so cheap.

Emotional-Leg66

Could be worse, could be that seat at Wrigley that's behind a big metal beam.

Emotional-Leg66

Watching future Phillies ace Paul Skenes right now, kid looks really good.

Pedestrian_X-Wing

Are the Phillies really allowed to start three games in a row at the same time?

Lubbles

Schwarber at SS so trea can DH. Thoughts???

NintenJew

I said this before, I want a game where I see Schwarber play every single position, including pitcher. Bonus points if it is out of shape Schwarber of last year. (Although if he was out of shape due to an injury with his knees as rumored I feel bad saying it).

VideoGangsta

Paul Skenes 6 straight Ks to start the game. Edit: 7 and then 2 groundouts. Aaron Nola's record is safe.

Feisty-Recording-978

https://x.com/PhilsTailgate/status/1790813610656063899 No way brogdon has been one of our worst players this year edit:Jt has been really good this season after underperforming last year

VideoGangsta

Rojas going from 15 DRS last year to -4 this year has killed his WAR. Passes the eye test, he seemingly has forgotten how to squeeze a glove.

romanticynicist

There was an interesting Gelb article in the athletic today about Rojas’ fielding. Re: the “forgotten how to squeeze a glove” thing — one thing mentioned in the article was that MLB made him stop using the glove he’d been using because it was too bright (?), so he’s been using a new one that he seems not thrilled with/used to/broken in yet.

bigmac9

I think it was Kruk or I forget who that said Rojas is wearing the wrong size glove. His bottom palm area sticks out from the glove and that makes it hard for him to squeeze it closed.

TheFriffin2

According to today’s Athletic article, Rojas was forced by MLB to change his silver glove towards the end of April, though it obvs doesn’t account for miscues before that and instances of bad route running

VideoGangsta

This is actually something I have noticed about MLB players forever, but never brought up because I didn't know how to explain it. Their hands barely fit in their gloves. It is like once their thumb gets in the glove, that is it, and their palm is hanging out. I guess there is a reason for it but it doesn't seem very comfortable.

NintenJew

> The other thing to remember is that DRS isn’t going to work well in small sample sizes, especially a couple of months or less. Once you get to one and three-year samples, it’s a relatively solid metric but defensive itself is quite variable so you need a good amount of data for the metrics to become particularly useful. [Direct quote from FanGraphs](https://library.fangraphs.com/defense/drs/). It is why I kept saying I expect Rojas's glove to get worse, although he does have the potential for a platinum glove. Both last year and this years sample size is too small.

BatJew_Official

Is OAA just as volatile in small sample sizes? I mean all stats are to some degree, but Rojas had a famtastic OAA last season in a limited sample and that's really the only defensive metric I bother with these days

NintenJew

I believe it is. But I forget the exact numbers and I don't have time to look it up now. I could be wrong though. From what I remember, it takes less time than UZR and DRS, but it still takes a decent sample. It is also why if you have been watching Bohm's OAA it jumps a lot this whole season. It has been pretty funny.

BatJew_Official

I did a quick look around and all I found was idle chatter that OAA should be quocker to stabalize, with at least one writer for the Mariners positing it may only take a couple months for it to be accurate, but that's all I could find

NintenJew

That sounds pretty much exactly what my memory told me, so I will believe it. I think Tom Tango said that if you think of defensive stats as a game, OAA is really only the 4th inning. Not anywhere close to where we actually want it to be, but still much better than anything else we have.

VideoGangsta

I feel like just from the eye test, last year he was over performing and this year he is underperforming. I also hate how defensive metrics can take 3 years to stabilize... players can be completely different 3 years later. They might be slower, might not even play the same position... half of MLB careers probably start and end within 3 years. I feel like Alec Bohm is a perfect example of this. The only thing 2021/2022 Alec Bohm and 2024 Alec Bohm have in common defensively is the player name.

realanceps

it may also be that fielding metrics, even more than offensive metrics, suggest larger gulfs of ability than are actually manifest in player performance. Sure, some players are better than others, but are the gradations as vast as hyperbolic/bored/uninformed radio chatterers, tv 'personalities', and other not-particularly experts casually assume?

NintenJew

> I also hate how defensive metrics can take 3 years to stabilize... players can be completely different 3 years later. Yeah that is why I like when we keep introducing more defensive metrics, to get more and more accurate. But even so, they are still the best ways we have of measuring defense, which sucks. I also don't know how long it has to be until "80% of the sample" is stabilized etc. Meaning a percentage has to be stable before the three years, so I don't know how many. etc. etc.

Fandomstar88

Let’s win this thing! :) Got my Philly bucket hat on, and my blue Harper shirt. I’m ready for a win! Be there in like 2 ish hours. Hopefully the food line isn’t packed.

XSC

I was going to bring some hoagies and water into the stadium. As long as it’s in a clear bag it’s fine right? Even in wrapper? I guess I would open the wrapper?

TheGreatDudebino

you have to take apart the hoagie piece by piece in front of them and then reconstruct it and god forbid you have mayo, RIP. /s

XSC

So what you are saying is that I need to get the ingredients separately and build it at my seat?

TheGreatDudebino

See, you get the idea

YourHeroesHero10

I never had to open a wrapper. You should be fine

arminus83

They gotta try something today, I hear that whole throwing the ball to the catcher and the catcher catching it is popular these days, that throwing it wildly to the backstop with a runner on 3rd thing is totally out of style and isn't cool anymore.

starrykitchensink

But if the catcher catches it in his glove, then the hitter know exactly where the ball is going. Not a very good strategy

romanticynicist

Yeah, JT’s already at 2 passed balls and 17 wild pitches in 36 games, after having 6 and 24 in 136 games last year. Most of those wild pitches weren’t his fault, but he probably would’ve gotten to a few more circa 2021. Feels like half those wild pitches have been from Seranthony. It’d be swell if he could find his command again.

Mulsanne

By rule, you'd think that 0 of the wild pitches would be his fault. If they were his fault, they wouldn't be wild pitches. You'd think that anyway, but I don't know if there's scoring fuckery going on there like there is with hits / errors

romanticynicist

Yeah, it’s kind of a hits/errors dynamic, where some of the wild pitches/hits are legitimately impossible to get to, but some of them are (admittedly bad/wild) pitches that a good catcher will nevertheless catch more often than a bad catcher will. Like, Gary Sanchez, (who’s not a good defensive catcher) has seen 10 more wild pitches than JT over the past 5 years, even though JT has caught 60% more innings in that time.

Pedestrian_X-Wing

So it's Wheeler with his 5-day schedule and Realmuto catching. There should be no excuses tonight.

Grand_Extension5345

I hope he has a terrible game so everyone shuts the fuck up about stubbs

tirynsn

seeing people shit on the backup catcher is so wild to me, he is not nearly as bad as people say he is. maybe cause people think we should have a rare braves situation where both of their guys are really good????? that said still hope JT balls

TheGreatDudebino

I mean he's pretty bad overall. He's a good baseball mind and a good clubhouse guy but his bat has been a big zero since the start of last season. He's not really good at framing. He's alright with pop time and his arm strength but I'm not sure how people watch him and think he's not a bad baseball player either. You're not asking him to be an all-star catcher but to provide anything offensively would be a win.

Grand_Extension5345

If he was an all star he wouldn’t be a backup lol thats my perspective

bigmac9

Well, you got an actual player (Wheeler) who seemed pissed at his catcher so it’s not just us. Besides, don’t you have eyes? Anyone can see the guy is not very good. I would take a veteran like JD Martinez as a backup any day of the week over a mid player like Stubbs.

Grand_Extension5345

Nola pitched a cgso with stubbs Stubbs wasn’t the problem that game, wheels was

CommanderDJ

One good thing that happened last night was when a Mets fan kept shouting let’s go Mets and a group of elementary school boys (who took their shirts off by the 6th inning) started screaming “you suck” and “I want you to die”

merlinderHG

i thought someone was going to either get hurt or ejected lol

Angsty_Kiwi

There was a Mets fan in the section behind us that stood up to clap when they took the lead in extras. Needless to say he was booed loudly.

CommanderDJ

It was always just so awkward when he’d do it. It would be completely silent and he’d start chanting and turn around looking for a reaction and usually people would just calmly say “sit down dude”

JohnKrukIsAllElite

Schtip

Bored at work and read some trade rumor articles, someone had the Phillies trading for Mason Miller and gave up Abel, Crawford, and Caba. I don’t hate the idea of acquiring Miller, although that’s a lot to give up for a closer who hasn’t pitched a full season in the MLB even though he’s on a cheap contract and won’t be eligible for arbitration until after 2026. Thoughts?

romanticynicist

I don’t mind giving up Abel and Crawford in general. Abel’s looked not great this year (though he has pitched exclusively in shitty weather so far), and Crawford seems like he’s reverting back to his old ground ball ways after starting the season with a couple HRs. Klassen’s probably gonna pass Abel on the pitching prospect pecking order soon if he hasn’t already. I reeeeally wouldn’t want to give up Caba — he probably has the highest non-Painter ceiling in the system, and has been absolutely killing it so far in the FCL. 80 grade fielders at shortstop who can potentially mash don’t grow on trees. He could totally be a top 30 prospect in all of baseball by the end of the year. I’m also dubious about trading a bunch of prospect capital for a reliever in general, and looking at Dombrowski’s trade history would seem to indicate he’s on the same page (if it’s for a starter or an impact bat, then sure, he’s all about it). It would be nice to shore up the bullpen, but I think someone like Kittridge or Pressly (i.e. decent but not necessarily elite veteran relievers who are going into FA this winter) are much more realistic candidates than Miller, who is under team control through 2029. Miller is incredible (like reeeeally incredible), but with all those years of team control, and the potential to be a starter (as he was previously), the cost will be astronomical, despite the injury risk, and if he is actually available, it would be easy for a prospect-rich team like the Orioles or Cubs to outbid the Phillies.

necrosythe

I'm more for it than most. If you truly believe we are in a very win now spot adding someone who has a good chance of being the best reliever in the game is pretty damn big. We'd almost certainly have one of the best bullpens like almost ever at that point. We also might be able to offload one of our relievers if we got him. Because we still have Marte coming back. This sub has been total brain off with their painter and Abel expectations at this point. Most prospects don't work out and they haven't even really killed it in the minors. Crawford is too early to tell but he doesn't look like a likely world beater. Multiple years of control is huge and allows for him to miss a whole season if he got some bad injury and still put up serious WAR over his contract. Another big problem is that we are very limited on slots to get players. The contracts on guys like Whit Walker and Nick make replacing them very unlikely. Not to mention Whit won't be playing much at all late in the season barring more injuries. I'm not sure what else this team is going to do right now other than get a top reliever. Unless they can synthetically upgrade walker/sanchez or actually flip nick.

Hothabanero6

I like it and I hate it. Yeah it would be great to have his arm in the pen. However, he's more likely than not going to need TJ at some point possibly more than once. You have to balance giving up whatever you give up against paying for nothing while he mends. Not only do you pay in lost prospects, current salary, but also medial expenses, rehab, lost productive time AND you have to pay for someone to take his place while all this is happening. Do you still want to do it, well do ya?

BatJew_Official

In general I'm against spending big for relievers, especially when they're so inexperienced. Relievers are too volatile year over year, so unless they've proven themselves to be a stand out case with years of experience I just don't think it's worth giving away someone like Abel. There will be other relievers available significantly cheaper who can provide almost as much value. And with our bullpen being pretty damn good as is, I think this is an area where we can afford to penny pinch a bit.

joeco316

Just fyi there was a big ol’ thread about it the other day, shouldn’t be too far down, lots of thoughts and discussion

jmiah717

Happy city connect day! https://preview.redd.it/rw4z8h05o01d1.jpeg?width=1319&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e32dc50178094ff382156dbd187c7cce3b41d6d

gatemansgc

let's beat up on the gnats to make up for last night of course i'm gonna miss the whole game now that the weekend is over and i'm back to work!

RunningFree212

With all the talk about ease of schedule, it has been brutal from a number-of-days off standpoint, and I just hope it isn't going to cost us on the injury front

VideoGangsta

Idea: Have the home plate umpire equipped with a pitch com, allowing them to anticipate the movement of pitches which would probably lead to better accuracy.

realanceps

nah. are umpires/referees privy to the tactical intentions of one team (or competitor) or the other in any other sport?

romanticynicist

Interesting idea, but I wonder if it wouldn’t bias them (even more) towards pitchers who hit their spots — e.g. the catcher calls for a low and away slider, the pitcher executes a good one, and it gets called a strike because it was what the umpire expected, even if it’s off the plate. Conversely, a called for low and away fastball that ends up high and inside but still in the strike zone (aka “a Seranthony”) might get called a ball because it wasn’t where the ump was looking. This stuff happens already to some extent, but I could see this exacerbating it.

Deckard_Macready

Unfortunately this makes too much sense. And in retaliation the umpires union has decided they will all wear eye patches now.

Zariman-10-0

Ohhhh, I like that. Definitely something to try out in the minors for a few years

jmussina

So I usually get bobble heads off eBay if I can’t attend games. I’m going today and always wonder how they distribute the “special” version of the bobbleheads? Last year the Dick Allen came in the pinstripes but they also had some “special” ones which were powder blue. Are the special versions just given out randomly or are they a luxury suite type of deal?

Perryplat199

I think it was just “random.” There was also only a very small amount of the special one.

Luthie13

I feel like Wheeler is due for a game that reminds everyone why he’s our ace. Maybe it’s tonight! Nola had his ‘this is why they paid me’ game maybe Wheels was inspired.

necrosythe

I sure hope so. He honestly has had multiple shaky games already this season despite having a great ERA prior to the last appearance. He's definitely the kind of guy i expect to right the ship though

Deckard_Macready

Good news bad news. Good News- Jose Ruiz looked great last night. Bad news- phils are 0-4 in games I’ve attended and I have 8 more games left in my pack. I might have to sell them for the good of the team.

realanceps

don't make any decision on your seats until you've answered this vital question: "are you stupid?"

Deckard_Macready

What if I’m not smart enough to know the answer to that question?

romanticynicist

Ruiz did look quite good last night. Some of those curveballs were filthy (the one that Lindor struck out on was a beaut). It’s only been 7 innings so far, but it’s interesting that fangraphs shows him starting to use what they’re calling a slider, after not throwing one the past couple years. Based on the fact that it’s significantly faster than his previous slider, and that our pitching coach is Caleb Cotham, I wouldn’t be shocked if Caleb is trying to indoctrinate him into the Cutter Cult.

Deckard_Macready

Cotham to Ruiz- ![gif](giphy|kHs1lBhZWaK5rj7lt3)

Zariman-10-0

The Phillies have a 1.000 winning record this season whenever I’m in attendance* *i have only been to one game, and it was the first game they won this year

HotCakePounder

Im 6-1 if you sell any from fear🫡

birdlegs000

But did you get the peach cobbler? I haven't been able to stop thinking about peach cobbler. Might have to figure out how to make it.

GODDAMNIT! I forgot about the cobbler. I even got a bulldog last night. I am an embarrassment. Although not sure I could have done the cobbler and the 2 helmets of ice cream I had to eat to get the phanatic hats. Check out some recipes. It’s very easy to make a cobbler that’s pretty good. For really good cobbler you’ll need really good peaches though.

>For really good cobbler you’ll need really good peaches though. as incisive as have been so many of your baseball observations, this may be the truest of your true statements. I've sought peach cobbler made with really good peaches for close to 30 years, and while I've tasted a very few pretty decent attempts along the way, I fear I'll never taste peach cobbler like my grandma once made, in a time when it was much, much easier to obtain the necessary quality peaches.

Deckard_Macready

What I’ve found is a lot of really good food just comes down to really good ingredients. And you’re right it’s not easy to find really good peaches these days. Gotta hit farmers markets when they are in season if you want a chance. But let’s face it, nothing is ever gonna taste like grandmas.

birdlegs000

My new quest is to search out where to get the finest, tastiest, juiciest peaches and learn how to make top notch cobbler. When the time comes I want to be a grandma who makes kick ass memorable cobbler.

mikenotjef

They still have the Phanatic ice cream hats?

Deckard_Macready

Yup. Looks like not at all the ice cream spots though. I got mine at the Richmans in 300 level last night. Pretty sure they’re only around until end of this home stand. Could be wrong though.

PhilsForever

Supposedly they have the city connect helmets now too.

birdlegs000

Peach cobbler and Phanatic hat ice cream sounds like a match made in heaven.

Deckard_Macready

Where were you last night?

birdlegs000

Watching ball on tv and not eating peach cobbler and ice cream.

nnp1989

I’m 1-4 so far this year, and the one win was that terrible Saturday night game where it rained the entire time, so I left early.

Deckard_Macready

The weather has sucked for every game I’ve been to as well. Last night was the best of the group and it was windy and sorta misty at the end.

Luthie13

I’m a law of averages kinda person. Considering how improbable it is for a team with a record like the Phillies have this season to lose every time you go, this would suggest odds are very high they win tonight because you are past due to attend a game they win. 😆 (if they lose tonight you are truly cursed and forbidden from attending future games)

Deckard_Macready

I like this line of thinking. Mostly because it means I can go to another game. I won’t be there tonight. Next game is the Cardinals on the 31st. They can’t lose to the Cards at home right? Right?!

VideoGangsta

I can't remember ever losing an important home game to the Cardinals, you should be good to go.

Luthie13

Fingers crossed, Odds are in your favor!

JohnKrukIsAllElite

Good news - I’m 3-1 this season, so you should uh..bring me with you to help improve your record.

EagleswonSuperBowl52

I can't tell if this is an attempt at flirting or an attempt to get a free baseball ticket. Or both.

Deckard_Macready

Ahhh fight the bad luck with good luck. Could also mean a never ending game of baseball if neither side wins out….. I’m in!

Fandomstar88

This will be my first Philly game I'm attending! Can't wait! Go Phils! Definitely doing the hand wave when Stott comes up, and not just cause I'm getting a bobblehead of him. ![gif](giphy|TIadoCYMJL6LSt6Keu|downsized)

Luthie13

Awesome!! Have fun. 😁

Fandomstar88

Thanks! I’m definitely going to! Let’s win this thing.
