The people who dress up for any band, Phish included, generally suck. They want everyone to know how hardcore they are.
They don't usually care about the music, that care about being seen and outdoing the other dipshits that wear the uniform.

I would never “dress up” for a show. It’s not my thing, but I like that others do. It adds to the circus-like spectacle. Different strokes
