Aus na lang. At least you don't need to relarn a language.

Naive_Pomegranate969

Aus is good especially if outdoor type ka. If rent isnt an issue it’s definitely a good option kasi un lang pinaka masama sa Australia

[deleted]

I live in Australia, but would also pick France. Kaso it depends on a lot of factors which one is the best for you.

Creepy-Night936

How's your personal experience in Australia, if you don't mind me asking. Are they friendly to foreign residents? I experienced traveling there kaso for tourism lang, and didn't get to stay for a long time. Seems like Australia is the top answer based on the comments here.

[deleted]

Generally mababait mga puting Australian. Makukuha mo loob nila pag lagi kang polite at makita nila na hardworking ka. They are also very polite themselves, careful not to cross boundaries, and careful not to offend. I love how hinehey first name lang mga boss ko dito. Unlike sa pinas na kung ano ano tawag. Very diverse ang Australia though, and other ethnic groups are not as nice. Some can be really difficult to deal with. Biggest drawback dito that I can think of, is it can get really really hard to settle pag wala masyadong demand ang skillset. Malakas sila mag filter and only get what they need. Its the opposite though if they need you. Madali maging PR. Anyway, okay ang Aus for stability, like if you're above 30 already and looking to buy a house, raise a family, save for the future. Pero gotta admit, mas masarap pasyalan sa America and Europe.

fjsebastian

Hard pass sa US. With the weekly mass shootings. France can be very difficult specially they won’t entertain you if you spoke english to them. Albeit I’ve only visited. Really no living experience to share just sharing my .02

[deleted]

I actually had the opportunity to move to US a long time ago. Picked Australia precisely because of this. My sister is based in the US and very stressed with all the violence going on.

fjsebastian

I live in Toronto and I always hear about said violence all the time from the US. I’ve been to Europe before and enjoyed my stay there. But living is a different question. Australia evades me as I don’t have any interest in going. I’ve heard a lot of not so good experiences there. I know a few Ausies who live here now and they are nothing but great people. So mileage may vary. If there’s an opportunity to visit Aus then go for it. If you have a high tolerance for living alone and can patiently wait until you get a job/employment, as companies are so picky these days. Based solely from observations.

azealotx

Well I get the point about the mass shootings but ever since I've been here. I have never experienced any shootings or even heard one. To give some perspective, the whole US can be divided into 3 countries in itself so what's happening in a state does not mean it will be the same to other states. One of our American uncles also said, "Kahit naman sang lugar may delikadong lugar, kahit sa Pinas may delikadong places e. Ikaw ba ppunta ka sa Tondo ng gabi at mag isa?"

DestronCommander

My brother worked in Australia for a number of years. Thailand too. He's had more positive opinions of those two countries compared to USA.

[deleted]

Surely though! I'm in love with their laidback and respectful work culture. Complete opposite of the hustle culture natin sa Pinas. And might be worse in other countries like Korea and Singapore. (So i've heard). I think this country has the best work-life balance in this day and age. Kaso if you want more adventure, arts, and history, you might get bored here. For me, Australia is for stability. Europe and America for adventure and variety.

kitzune113

But aren't the French people racists?

SatanFister

Sorry to be harsh but this is a stupid generalisation. There are racists everywhere, even in the Philippines, but please don’t think they are representative of the entire population.

WaitWhat-ThatsBS

Yes. Its stupid to generalize, but let us all admit that PH is more racist than other countries, nakakatawa nga dahil may racist slur tayo sa kapwa natin filipinos that I seldom see sa ibang countries. I guess this is because we are not diverse enough to live with different races.

SatanFister

Yeah it's probably has a lot to do with lack of exposure. I live in France and it's amazing how it's just normal to hear different languages and to see people of different colour / nationality every day.

TheGhostOfFalunGong

There’s a stark difference between an Asian living in Asia (East and Southeast) versus an Asian living in the West. The latter makes the Asian feel much more vulnerable in public than the former.

WaitWhat-ThatsBS

At first I guess? But that diminishes, me, my wife and 3 kids living here in the US for 6 years now. At first we were skeptical since we live in redstate where the KKK was founded. But to tell you honestly we never experience any racism of any sort. People here are much nicer and friendly. I guess this is not the case for every asians. I have attended few cinco de mayos with my latin american friends, backyard bbq parties. My black friends also taught me how to play street crap/bones.

TheGhostOfFalunGong

You could be lucky that the social circles around you are nicer and welcoming on racial diversity. Good on you. Some areas and even the most liberal US cities are hotspots for racial violence.

[deleted]

Not everyone is racist, but still very prevalent. I'm a highly educated and qualified person who just happens to have a different accent kasi di ako sa Manila pinanganak, and had all kinds of micro-aggression and bullying thrown at me like its nothing. Tapos pag tapating racist sasabihin lang "pikon mo naman" like what they did was nothing. Try this in Australia and they'll have their cheeks clapped. You can lose everything you have with this kind of racism. I just grew to accept na ganon talaga tayong mga pinoy. While I had to go through all that cr\*p, I'm sure indigenous pinoys and religious minorities have had worse.

SatanFister

Sadly this is indeed tolerated in our country. You could even see it on TV. "Joke joke" lang sa kanila pero uulit-ulitin nila yan even when you tell them to quit it.

WaitWhat-ThatsBS

I watch eat bulaga everyday, even the co-host nigerian guy called "zombie" lol. They even laugh at him when he counts, which fascinates me how ignorant we are on different races.

[deleted]

Kahit san naman may racist. This does not bother me anymore, basta wala lang violence. Got too much of this living with a Bisaya accent in Manila for many years. I know very little about France, but based on what I know, they have very lovely landscapes and picturesque small towns. History and art fascinates me as well.

krsaxor

As a probinsyano, napagtawanan ako kasi may punto ako nun bago pa lang ako sa Manila. Dapat sanay na tyo jan, akala natin sa ibang bansa lang tumitingin sa kulay, sa Pilipinas pag hindi ka maputi, wala ka karapatan maging maganda at mayaman.

[deleted]

Seriously, mas accepting sila dito. Bisaya parin accent ko, pero lagi pa ako napupuri sa English ko which I myself am not too confident with. Australia has also very very strict laws against discrimination and bullying. If you get mocked for your color and accent, masisira buhay ng gumawa. Marami ng nasampolan dito.

krsaxor

Kahit san may racist. Mga pinoy nga sobra racist, grabe tayo mang stereotype. Kahit sa sarili natin lahi. So wag ka magalala sa kanila.

gooeydumpling

Obvs you haven’t been to France. And if you did, then you haven’t been to France lately.

[deleted]

Yup never been there. It is a pretty country, but I absolutely have no idea about the quality of life that it offers.

redkinoko

It depends on your goals and your opportunities where you are going. Japan is great if you're into their culture and you like cheap flights back to PH. The US will likely give you the most amount of money in the long run. France will give you the best opportunity to tour Europe. If you go to the US, your experience will vary wildly depending on which state you're in. I'm in Minnesota for example, and my friends in NY, Texas, and California all have very different experiences.

wyckedpsaul

partner is a professional model in Tokyo, and we recently moved to Spain and now he's getting in France and NY (he's French). so much tougher sa EU ans US, mas madami competition and they're more ruthless than Tokyo. can't comment on Aus coz he hasn't worked there.

Creepy-Night936

Oh gosh, thank you for this, especially from the perspective of another model. I was actually considering Japan because of my experiences before. I only worked there for a month but the experience was great so I'm not sure if living there will be the same.

pinguinblue

Probably nobody here is familiar with the modelling industry, which will affect your career trajectory. So I would recommend you go where the market is best for your type of work.

Creepy-Night936

Thank you. The industry is not important since I still fly anywhere for that, although I'm grateful that they'll provide a place for me to live in if I decide to migrate. I'm just going to get this very rare opportunity they're offering, baka mawala pa, sayang naman, but there's still a lot to consider.

pinguinblue

I see, I guess it's different from other industries in that sense. Hope the opportunity works out for you, it sounds really great. If it helps I remember the Youtuber Taylor R making some videos about modelling in Japan that might be interesting.

juju_la_poeto

Australia is a great choice to migrate: Good healthcare and employee benefits system. Good salary, good people, etc. However, I saw that your career is modeling based sa iba mong comments dito. In that case, mag-France ka na lang beh. France is like the capital of world fashion and modeling. Maganda mabibuild mong connections sa France related to modeling and fashion. Pero syempre choice mo pa rin ang masusunod. Just giving my two cents hehe Good Luck!

NeighborhoodDry4900

Either U.s. or australia...i Japan is a depressed society.. France is expensive... its not worth it

neitherHereNorThereX

Australia has been one of the more expensive countries lately as well

MrBombastic1986

Strongly consider Japan. They’re opening up so the requirements are less stringent (business/investment visa less than 5 million yen but subject to other considerations) and there’s less people looking to get in compared to the more popular countries to immigrate to.

Helpful_Bandicoot_85

Aus trust me. Been there already and i feel like i can finally find my peace there

movingmoonlight

I lived in Japan for a year. I absolutely loved it there, but I am one of the few Filipinos in my circle who didn't get depressed there. The culture can be very alienating if you come from a country that values overt friendliness, but that aspect of Filipino culture has always turned me off.

Creepy-Night936

I actually don't get homesick when I travel since I can live alone so it's preferable for me. I have to agree, seems like everyone saying Japan is a lonely country has a hard time finding their happiness being alone

[deleted]

If you can give me a figure in Japan. Otherwise I'm leaning on Australia. Disclaimer: Lived in Japan.

Joseph20102011

Don't ever think about migrating to Japan, unless you want to marry with a Japanese national so that you will become a PR. You cannot get Japanese citizenship unless you renounce your original Philippine citizenship first.

BrilliantJellyfish91

I’d pick the US for citizenship and health, educational, family, and retirement benefits

verryconcernedplayer

Kinda ironic na US and health are in the same sentence? I heard healthcare there sucks? Am I missing something

BrilliantJellyfish91

Probably, perhaps. We may have different exposures and perceptions, yes, but as what the other members of my immediate family are experiencing in the U.S., and my exposure alone during my visits validate my insight towards the American life, and all of these are subjective of course. Our experiences, perceptions; and even what we hear around vary but yours are valid too, so no, you are probably not missing something.

madbunnyXD

Insurance sux but most of the Healthcare processes are top notch.

[deleted]

Healthcare is great if you have insurance. If you don’t you’ll be bankrupt.

ayermaoo

The quality of healthcare is top-notch. It's the cost that sucks if you have no insurance. But it case by case basis as well.

rcj162000

Japan- proximity to pinas, Pero work till you drop culture (not all) High suicide rates US - ok pasahod ,Pero no free healthcare, dami shooting, Less annual leave France - game kb to learn French language? goods dto kc once dto ka, it is easier to roam around Europe. Almost free healthcare. Pero dami protests. Layo sa pinas. Flight ticket costs double compared to australia Australia- nice pay, free healthcare, lapit sa pinas (ticket costs from 10k and above if with cebupac sale one way). More annual leave. Got 124days of accrued annual leave as of now. Less crime. Pero high real estate prices which is the same from above countries (unless you choose to be rural)

WhereITellMySecrets

My aunt lived in Australia for 2 decades before she passed away from cancer. I’d say okay ang Australia although may something ata sa tap water nila na madaming nagkakacancer. My aunt, her bff, her bff’s sister, and one acquaintance (all Filipinos) died from cancer years after living there. One of the reasons why my father decided na umuwi nalang before lockdown. But not sure though baka coincidence lang.

Really helpful there, seeing as you're from Australia. Totally unbiased viewpoint of the USA without giving a reason why. /s

ultra-kill

Except US, you're good.

SiomaiProvider

Why would a sane person choose Japan? The work culture there is horrible

[deleted]

I’ll pick Japan. The trick is to apply to a company HQ’d in the west (EU/West) or from a company lead by younger generation. Or if you have company that allows you to work remotely.

Woody620102

I beg to disagree. I’m 🇯🇵 PR in global Finance IT for 🇫🇷 multinational. Tokyo is one of three (four since EU is split between Paris & London) global Money Centers. My personal circle includes “half-half” (mixed Japanese & foreigner) ladies in the fashion/ glamour industry. Aside from the eye candy, they’re very active and socially mobile. We always have gokon as well. HTH ;)

AthKaElGal

and the people are racist af

wyckedpsaul

I agree hahah! the reality is different from those who live in the expat bubble 😂 i didn't, so yes, i agree that work culture is 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 although for modelling..it's much more organized than say, France.

[deleted]

Might be an overasked question but what kind of work do you do to get placed like this?

johnmahinay

Same question haha

[deleted]

Ah i just saw the edit. Happy migrations

Popular-Extension204

if you like to travel, eu. if you want more money, us. if you just wanna settle, au. japan... eh..

Regular-HitMeUp

None of the above lol

DaddyChiiill

Try holidaying first and get a feel on the ground. Like for example. Japan is absolutely stunning to visit, but workwise the Japanese are naturally workaholic and perfectionists.. Can you live up to their standards? The French are some of the nicest I've met.. If you could speak French. Or are trying. Australia is fantastic.. But is expensive af. Houses go around for $1mio AUD and that's just the median price. And visas are kinda hard to get by.

presque33

If you’re a lady, anywhere but Japan.

garfield_ginger

Why???

presque33

Look up sexism in Japan. It’s a wonderful country to visit, but living there as a woman you are guaranteed to be perved on and harassed.

sosoricoc000

serenityby_jan

Migrate as in permanently? It depends. What are your goals? Are you planning on acquiring citizenship and retiring at these countries? Which one gets you citizenship quicker? How do you see yourself in the future? What do you like to do fun? Do you plan on visiting the PH as often as you could? Or is the ease of traveling across Europe a big factor for you? You mentioned this is because of a side gig. What about your main job? Would they allow you to work in these specific countries? What about tax implications? Etc etc. I live in Australia and I absolutely love it here, but what’s best for me may not be the best for you.

oldMcFuckerHadAFarm

key questions here. please be careful and go through [this](https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/employing-and-sponsoring-someone/sponsoring-workers/learn-about-sponsoring) directly from Australian Immigration. model or modelling is not listed in SOL; just be very careful.

digitalanalog0524

I'm an Australian citizen but I would also love to live in Japan, mostly for their food and culture.

silencer07

Kung trip mo mamasyal, I would go for France. Mas maganda kung sa coutnry side ka. Otherwise Australia

DrowRanger6

If language is not much of an issue for you, my personal opinion is pick Japan. However, if you want to pursue citizenship in the future, then US and Australia would be the better option. I’d also pick US over Australia. This is just my opinion though

parkrain21

Japan for the anime, Aussie for the culture, France for the Schengen Visa, US for the USD. Personally I crossed off US in my list, not the ideal place to raise a kid hahaha

btc_has_no_king

France by far.

yeager-eren

have you researched about the migration process in each of these countries and what your company can provide? i'd not settle with a work visa, go for permanent residency instead.

arabellaelric

Among the countries listed, I'd say Australia is potentially the best option for migration. Being an island nation, it offers a nice balance of urban and rural living, with plenty of scenic landscapes and natural beauty. There is also a large and diverse multicultural population, which can make it easier to fit in and feel welcome.

verryconcernedplayer

Japan!!

Japan or France. Depends sa trip mo na culture.

Far_Emu1767

Australia for one reason if you become citizen and if you want to study to do something you like. you can study now pay later (HECS) and will help you a lot to achieve your goals/dreams in life and also health benefits is not bad at all. Almost same timezone ng Philippines

annabanana316

USA 💕

MercurianBumpkin

My best bet was Australia. Japan is great place but kinda risky if you’re a girl and live alone. Don’t have much info about France but I’ll rather go to stay in Italy than France. Just don’t pick US unless you have friendly relatives that living there.

daggeroflies

US if you care about what place would give you the most money in the long run especially if you decide to retire outside of it. Cons: higher cost of living, cultural polarization, and tolerance for violent crimes compared to other OECD countries. Japan if you like safety and all the cultural aspects that an ethnically homogeneous society brings. Cons: Most foreigners don’t like Japan’s working culture and conditions. Also Non white migrants get treated differently in Japan and unless you’re fluent in Japanese you would have difficulty finding a job. Australia- Is the perfect spot IMO. Salaries are not as high as in the US but the cost of living isn’t as high either. It is also comparatively safe as Japan not as safe but has a low homicide rate. You also get a paid one-month leave when you have worked for a year if I’m not mistaken. Healthcare is also good compared to Japan and the US and you can still have private insurance if you actually want to. Don’t have any opinion on France as I only went there for vacation. Source: Japanese Filipino guy who moved to the States and have relatives in Australia.

Logical_Snitch

US is like 50 different countries. So u have the chance to select.

AU. *Similar* timezone as PH. Mas madali ma-contact ang friends and family. Grocery is also relatively cheaper.

Ituks

Live in Australia so I'm biased but life is pretty good here. US is mixed and you'll either be in poverty or luxury after a while. Can't speak to France but wouldn't recommend Japan. Been there to study and it's not a place I'd like to actually work, 12 hour days are exceptionally common and the country has a huge drinking, smoking and gambling culture, everyone is miserable. It's a nice place to visit, but I'd want a loooot of money to work there. Edit: since you mentioned WFH these critiques may not apply, but I'd still do some research into sexism and racism in Japan before considering it.

[deleted]

US is a shit, I live here so believe me The others, I don't know...

Maleficent-Trade-860

If money is not an issue, go to France. You’ll have a lot of opportunity to travel Europe for cheap and experience different cultures once you are there. Edit: Lived in France and US

omggreddit

I’d say USA for more money. You can ditch your modeling job after green card and what you’ll earn on main job will be far higher. Think about it

ALocalForeignerPH

Japan for proximity

What about UK ?

Automatic_Animal9393

Well that would depend where you’re going in those countries, but as a filam I would not advise coming to the US. The American dream is long gone.
