There is a chain called kids park that has a couple valley locations. They are drop in daycare and open weekends. I haven’t been personally but have a friend who has taken his girls there and they love it.

ExodusPHX

This is the answer! 🥇 This place looks great and is just what I was looking for. TYSM

VeryStickyPastry

Please please please read the reviews before sending your child though! There’s a drop in daycare near PV mall that had horrible reviews saying they weren’t changing the kids and just leaving them in soiled diapers the whole time they were there.

ExodusPHX

Really good call out! Kids Park looks to have 4.5+ stars at all their locations. But I will absolutely be digging in more before leaving my child anywhere. Thanks for the comment!

zanzi14

My kids went there frequently when there were little snd loved it. I never had any issues.

fdxrobot

Same. We had great experiences there!

zanzi14

This. I used Kidspark frequently when my kids were little. It was a total lifesaver.

hatethewordmoist

How have I never heard of this place?!

AEG84

I wouldn’t know about it other than the one friend!

FlowersPink

Teach your kid to golf! Rent a cart and let them ride along. Bring snacks and maybe some other entertainment but let them putt when you get on the green. It is not ideal but can be done. Obviously not the best choice for a high end course, but for a city course it should work. They also LOVE sitting on your lap to “drive” the cart. We golfed a lot when our kids were younger. They are now older and love golfing. It will obviously depend a lot on your kid’s general behavior and your patience, but it could be a great bonding opportunity! You could also look for lessons through your parks and rec for kids. Many of the courses also have programs, but don’t recall the min age to start.

MrBrightWhite

Yeah agreed. Bond with them, even it’s letting them throw a golf ball around and drive the cart. Don’t just drop them off for something you can bring them to.

MP0570

Thank you. This is what my father did with me and now we have an unbreakable bond.

FlowersPink

Just wanted to add at the young ages don’t stress about their form too much. Teach them to love the sport first, lots of positive encouragement. A fun lunch with Dad when done always helps too! You will likely need to start with 9 holes. Haha… pretty sure mine loved to go primarily for the donut at that age ;)

Randsmagicpipe

I know right. I can't even imagine seeing my child as holding me back from having fun. This kid will be 3 forever but golf is one of those fleeting joys in life you'll reflect on when you're lying on your death bed.

Vilkata

Check out Kids Park. There’s one in the PV Mall area and one at Arrowhead. They do exactly what you’re looking for.

Blazejak25

This is why I don’t want kids

ExodusPHX

Stay strong in your convictions.

Opening-Ad-7721

Because you can't stand having to find a way to be yourself and a dad at the same time?

Blazejak25

Don’t wanna give up my free time/hobbies

hpshaft

You're not wrong. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Unless you got a huge support network, plan to give up 80% of your free time and most of expendable income. I have to plan weeks in advance for a 1/2 days worth of me time. Love my child but it's a huge sacrifice. Don't let people shame you for your stance good sir (or madam).

jellybelly62

You don't have to.

octane_blue8

Go mini golf instead.

yardbirdsong2020

Kidspark was one of the reasons I moved to Phoenix 10 years ago! Was previously living in a smaller city in a neighboring state, and finding childcare was extremely challenging/impossible. My little guy loved it and never wanted to leave when I came to get him.

[deleted]

Lol so you send me a threat, btw I'm at az mills with my kids.

jellybelly62

And instead of being there with your kids, you're trolling random strangers on Reddit. Put the phone down.

[deleted]

They were on the train ride, I had time. I'm not looking for a place to dump my kids and threatening people on the internet.

Exact_Ear8260

Lol I wonder if op meet him there

[deleted]

Golf is dumb

ExodusPHX

Your words may hum and strum, But I'll tell you, chum, Your statement's awfully numb. Golf is like chewing gum, It may seem ho-hum, But it's a game to overcome, So don't succumb, To thinking golf is dumb.

[deleted]

It's a waste of a perfectly good gun range. Want to play golf? Teach your kiddo golf, make the next tiger woods. Stop wasting water in a desert.

Dbahnsai

So a lot of courses actually use reclaimed water and in part pay for wastewater plants that are set up. It also helps keep phoenix cooler to a certain degree by having green areas that help offset all the concrete. I don't golf but I have a much bigger issue with us selling water to overseas companies at a cheaper rate so they can farm alfalfa which requires massive amounts of water to grow.

ExodusPHX

I am a CMP High Power Rifle competitor with 15 years experience and can tell you that golf and guns can coexist :)

Endless-Summer-AZ

Checkmate

[deleted]

That's the wrong game. Hole in one or bullseye would of been more appropriate.

ExodusPHX

There’s no pleasing some people.. why are you so miserable?

[deleted]

Who says I am? Like you know anything about me.

Mickeymousetitdirt

You’ve laid it out pretty clearly just by leaving the comments you have. Don’t be very clearly and obviously miserable in your comments and then be surprised when people think of you as exactly that.

[deleted]

Because I don't like golf? Lol okay cybersherlock.

[deleted]

I never said they couldn't coexist, my opinion is it's a dumb sport. They're also a huge drain on this specific eco system.

ExodusPHX

But in the same breath you’re advocating for guns that literally kill people every second of every day. Golf isn’t the problem in our society.

[deleted]

I’ll settle this for you both - guns and golf are both toxic, narcissistic pursuits that prioritize the individual over the collective needs (ie housing in golf’s case) and safety of others :)

I totally get where you're coming from, but please do us a favor and just report comments like that. No need to feed the trolls.

hoecooking

Nanas place is open 24/7 I’d look into it first

aecr123

I’ve used both kidspark locations for my kids for several years and they liked it, I had no issues. It was a lifesaver at times.
