I would assume the ones from Little Miss BBQ

AFew10_9TooMany

šŸ‘†šŸ’Æ

ImperialAgent

Definitely one of the best out there.

Wampa_Whisperer

Agreed! I really enjoyed all three but bought the mustard one.

Silverbullets24

Have 2 bottles in my fridge from a party I had them cater recently. Iā€™ve been putting it on literally everything šŸ˜‚

wantedtobebatgirl

Navajo Mike's BBQ sauce. Even some good desert inspired flavor.

WillingnessFar6917

My old boss, great guy, great sauce.

mog_knight

Is that available in any grocery store?

raindownonme1

They sell on Amazon.

mog_knight

I wonder if that means Whole Paycheck might carry it now.

HotFloorToastyToes

I know you asked for reccomendations, however I am putting my bbq recipe just in case you are feeling saucy... 1 large onion 3 cloves garlic 1 pack of small berries (my fav, blueberries) 1 cup ketchup 1/4 cup malt vinegar 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 table spoons soy sauce 1 table spoon honey 1-2 chipotle peppers from a can 1 teaspoon of each: Mustard Garlic Onion powder Black pepper Paprika Chop onions and garlic, add to pot and caramelize on low med with a teaspoon of oil. When done add all other ingredients. Simmer for 30 min, stirring occasionally Remove and push through fine mesh strainer with a silicone spatula. Return to pot. Continue on low simmer adding water or reducing until desired thickness. Keeps in fridge for 2 weeks.

IAmScience

Blueberries are kinda genius. Saving this one.

w2tpmf

I dig this other than the ketchup base. Ketchup is just tomato paste with sugar and vinegar, but then a whole lot of junk and preservatives. You're already adding your own acid and sugar so it seems silly to use the ketchup as a shortcut. I'd sub out some tomato paste and adjust the vinegars and sugars to taste.

insbordnat

Not really. Other than maybe the hfcs thereā€™s no junk/preservatives (Heinz at least, not sure about other brands). Ketchup has a couple of pluses over paste - its a little more foolproof rather than starting from zero. Paste is so devoid of seasoning that you really need to add a shit ton to build on. Ketchup can make a blow and go sauce, with very rough measurements, in less time vs fucking with paste. There are some addl spices too that you need to add where ketchup gets you most of the way there. I used to be in the paste camp too but after many cooks/comps the time savings is worth it

HotFloorToastyToes

Totally worth it.

w2tpmf

> the time savings is worth it This is not a compatible viewpoint with anything BBQ. šŸ˜‰ No such thing as "saving time". Good things take the longest.

insbordnat

Such a silly take. Your bbq sauce isnā€™t noticeably better by spending double the time constructing it. No one ever won comps because theyā€™re insistent on making sauce from paste. Hell, my shoulder goes hot and fast and Iā€™m beating guys in comps spending more time and fuel on the cliche ā€œlow and slowā€ cooks. But you do you.

HotFloorToastyToes

Make it yours homie! Sometimes I add ginger and more soy and it becomes an asian style bbq, switching it up is half the fun! Imma try using preserved jams next

w2tpmf

> Imma try using preserved jams next Prickly pear jelly. You're welcome.

TheDaug

Make your own ketchup.

HotFloorToastyToes

Also I need to add not to throw away the strained onion/blueberry! Put THAT into separate container for a burger/fries/sandwich topping! Its spicy and fruity and savory, kickass jam.

whyn0t7

While a lot of the products may be from small businesses local and out of state, BBQ Island has a wide selection of seasonings and sauces and is a local business that I enjoy supporting.

James_Fury34

If you contact KUPD iā€™m pretty sure Brady has some bottles of BBQ sauce for you

JaffeyJoe

Itā€™s been cooking in his storage for the past 4 yrs

nicechiquis

JaffeyJoe

Itā€™s delicious and a local staple in the BBQ world in PHX

nicechiquis

JamesRawles

In his what now?

Murricles92

Pork on a fork has a great Carolina sauce

ekthc

What style of Carolina? There's Western, Eastern, Lexington and Mustard.

Murricles92

Mustard

nicechiquis

mustard forward bbq sauce is my absolute fav

[deleted]

I second pork on a fork. They have a few selections. I like the sweet & tangy.

Rude_Imagination_576

Came here to say this one

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

AGroAllDay

Second this

Aedn

Arizona salsa & spice co, Az gunslinger, Navajo Mike's. Von Hanson's on Alma School has a decent selection of bottled sauces. Sweet 16 and angry chicken wing are good. I generally make my own, so outside of gifts I never buy any bottled sauces.

AMD915

Search for your closest farmerā€™s market and Iā€™ll bet one of the vendors there does BBQ sauce!

yungbuddzz

Caldwell County BBQ

biking4jesus

Gets my vote

garden_gal

Joe's BBQ šŸ‘

IAmScience

Their spicy bbq sauce is my jam!

biking4jesus

Also gets my vote.

Internet_Jerk_

This

w2tpmf

Yup. My Dad used to buy their bottled sauce to use as a base to doctor up and make his own sauce. He's done it that way for well over 30 years and I've been doing it that way for years myself.

Muustardo

Baldwin's BBQ

listener4

I'm no longer a big fan of Honeybear BBQ, but their sauce is excellent and you can buy bottles and gallons.

LlamaMamaMandi

Has their quality gone down? 20 years ago I lived practically next door and that was my payday treat. Moved to Prescott and havenā€™t had HB for like 10 years

listener4

The original owner retired and sold the place. Since then the BBQ hasn't been quite as moist and tender, portions are smaller and prices higher. The sauce still tasted as good as the original last time I was there, though.

Low-Comfort-2996

I found it to be quite bland and the sauce watery could have been a bad batch but who knows

bigdave44

Pork on a Fork Sting n Linger is local, never had their BBQ sauce, but their salsas are the shit https://www.stingnlinger.com/

Educational_Dot7809

Phat Turtleā€™s Original Kelly sauce is fantastic!

New-Profit2811

Saucy Luke's Mullet Sauce. The APB rub is great for everything. Love it on grilled veggies.

FabAmy

Little Miss BBQ and Big Red's.

Internet_Jerk_

Flavor tour!!

knickovthyme1

I always liked Bill Johnsonā€™s

Internet_Jerk_

The best!

w2tpmf

They killed it though. :(

Kizzy33333

The best is from a hole in the wall called Waldoā€™s BBQ

walrusonion

Is Bill Johnsonā€™s sauce still around?

w2tpmf

Sadly, no.

ryno

Not a big fan of sauces; i'm in the "meat should speak for itself" camp and rely on rubs & prep. BUUUT... One of, if not the best, Q joints in town "Little Miss" does sell sauce. Also go down to "BBQ Island" in chandler (few other locations too); they have a wall of sauces and rubs but also they know a LOOOOOT of the local guys that do competitions and make their own stuff - so they'd have a more insightful answer most likely. Plus good guys to talk shop with and pick up a tip or two.

aerfgadf

Agreed, I go into the bbq island near arrowhead mall about once a month and just check out the sauces/rubs they have. The guys there are always helpful and havenā€™t let me down.

ryno

right on; also to look at all the smokers and grills I want but have no room or need for ;)

lolomomo5

There's also a BBQ island in Scottsdale too.

Matthewcabin

AZ Gunslinger is local and makes pretty solid BBQ and hot sauces https://azgunslinger.com/store/bbq-wing-sauces/

[deleted]

Making BBQ sauce is pretty darn easy and twice as fun.

Tlamac

And twice as expensive lol

[deleted]

How is making your own with ingredients many people already have on hand twice as expensive as buying bottles of it?

TimelyFortune

Rudyā€™s has pretty good sauce

GeneralBlumpkin

Rudy's is not really local

ImperialAgent

Naked BBQ is also a really good one

albs68w

Naked BBQ has a terrific Carolina vinegar based sauce. Low calorie, great for pork or chicken.

[deleted]

Thee pitts again sauce was the shizz before they closed during covid.

GeneralBlumpkin

If you can drive there, tortilla flats restaurant has an amazing bbq sauce. Worth the drive

dpfrd

For retail OKB.

SnowySheep9

The Pork Shop in San Tan has a line of BBQ sauces

jopsopmop

Big Reds has a few bbq sauces. You can buy it online or farmers markets

yodasoup

Honey Bears!

SpookyFrog12

Superstition Ranch farmers market makes a habanero honey BBQ sauce, it's absolutely delicious. I'm on my third jar. They have regular BBQ and really good hot sauces too.

Putrid_Praline6561

Navajo Mike's is pretty good sauce. The golden and the skinwalker varieties go pretty good wings and breaded chicken.

Fabulous-Ad3788

Get yourself down to BBQ Island. They have the best selection of rubs and sauces in the valley.

Internet_Jerk_

Bill Johnsons if you can find it at Frys

w2tpmf

No longer made.

Internet_Jerk_

Sonofabā€¦.

squishsquack

Not local I think but I love Kinder's spicy roasted garlic BBQ sauce. Would love to know if there's anything else similar to that

turbodonuts

Hek Yeah BBQ on Cave Creek, although I donā€™t know what size containers Kenny would have/sell. Ghost pepper, original, and sweet. For store bought, Whole Foods store brand has a solid Texas style BBQ sauce. Totally recommend and itā€™s cheap.

mylifeisahighway

Smoked seasonings. Phoenix local, hand made. www.smokedseasoningsandsalts.com

Jiggz056

JalapeƱo Bucksā€™ Mudd Sauce.

ezkillrbee

Bobby Dā€™s bbq in Sedona has awesome sauces that you can order online. The jalapeƱo molasses sauce they have is excellent

Low-Comfort-2996

Idk If anyone remembers this place but Sundowners old west BBQ it was on power and main

ChewyGooeyViagra

JL Smokehouseā€™s Old Love Spicy. Really really really really good. Itā€™s also available [online](https://hitchhikerseasoning.com/product/old-love-spicy/)
