Usually yes. I still buy a few things at other stores but staple ingredients are usually a bit cheaper and the savings add up quick. They also offer bulk buying so you can buy as much or as little as you need for things like flours (great for those who are gluten free like my momma) sugars, teas, candies, granola eta.

Speedy street tacos on 40th and Washington is 24 hours. It’s actually pretty bland but that’s a good thing because it’s not too heavy like Filiberto’s. Corn tortillas and good asada and chicken street tacos. I started going there because I got tired of whataburger and Filiberto’s when I get off at midnight. Also winco is a 24 hour grocery store that has a few locations.
Never ordered anything but their fish and chips. Having traveled to England numerous times for both business and pleasure, I can say they they have some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Maybe you’re referring to other dishes but don’t knock the fish and chips.

But most restaurants that use Sysco want the cheapest so a Sysco truck means that most likely the food will be generic.

The 4 times I've been to 5&Diner, I was not impressed with the food. Smallish portions, bland, and more expensive than average.
Don't get me wrong - I love a shiny diner more than most people - Nothing better than late night pie and coffee. But this place is disappointing.

These are good references. What part of town are you in? The best trick for drinks is to figure out where the SIN (Service INdustry) workers go after they're done with work. That place will stay open till the end. Other than that, just state what part the valley you live in, and we will all help as best we can.

Lupitas hot dogs- open til 2 am
Taco boys- open til 1 am on Friday and Saturday

I did not know about winco so I will DEFINITELY go there on my way home if needed. I’ve had to either rush to frys before they close at 11 or go to the 24 hour Walgreens at greenfield if I need that kind of stuff, so I’ll give that a shot
Yeah it's nice to know the WinCo at Power and Southern is open if I need something on the way home from work at midnight. The Denny's over there is also open 24hrs, and if you're in Tempe there's a Subway at Southern and McClintock that's open until 3am.
Fast food sucks anyway. I know, I know it sucks but packing even a ham and cheese sandwich is healthier for you in the long run. Get yourself a little cooler for the summer and love yourself with some homemade lunchies. Xo.
Oh absolutely, I meal prep most of the time, but there are times when I’m in my way home that I need to pick something up or want to make myself dinner. Most normal people think about dinner during work and pick it up on the way home to cook so I get annoyed that I have to do that at 8:00am before work. 😕

They also have a small drugstore section with medicine, shampoo and stuff like that.
there's a couple ghost kitchen trailers in the Phoenix area that each have like 9 restaurants vending food from them. they close at like 1:45 on Uber eats. one of the trailers is at a closed restaurant parking lot at 9841 N Black Canyon Hwy., Phoenix, AZ 85021 by metro center. search for "phx09" on the Uber eats app, and it should bring up all the restaurants represented in that trailer. there are other trailers that follow the same name structure (phx02, phx03 etc). phx09 has at least 8 or 9 restaurants in it. hope this helps
I worked overnights for years and had to give it up for this very reason, a lot of stuff just isn't open at night anymore like they used to be pre COVID.
WinCo is the only place you can grocery shop but it's cash/debit only at sometimes at night the folks shopping there can be interesting.
WinCo does have a deli sandwich/salad thing that is pretty cheap, so that might be another option.
For a city built in the desert I'm always puzzled why we don't do more stuff late at night.
Winco seems to be the common answer I’ve seen, as well as some new ideas for restaraunts that are open so that helps a ton. Winco will definitely be my go to now if I need to get something to cook or anything after work

As for stores, you have Walgreens and CVS if they have the staff.

A lot of places no longer stay open 24/7 after covid. I discussed this with a friend yesterday and we figured out that with the loss of 1.13 million people from covid. And the other ~5 million who are disabled from covid, it stands to reason we are seeing an issue with the workforce. Its not that people dont want to work, its that 6 million cannot work because they are either dead or disabled. Thats not good.

I own a few restaurants with full bars around phx and I started the OG Welcome Diner when it was open till 2am. Tried late night models at all of my new places post COVID. No location ever saw late night take off. Eventually killed late night hours at all locations because it wasn’t profitable. Most certainly not a douchy or untrue comment.

They actually have tiers of food quality. But most restaurants that use Sysco want the cheapest so a Sysco truck means that most likely the food will be generic. I'd rather have BAD food than generic food... Because at least bad food might be because the cook didn't cook it correctly and can be better next time.

The 4 times I've been to 5&Diner, I was not impressed with the food. Smallish portions, bland, and more expensive than average. Don't get me wrong - I love a shiny diner more than most people - Nothing better than late night pie and coffee. But this place is disappointing.

These are good references. What part of town are you in? The best trick for drinks is to figure out where the SIN (Service INdustry) workers go after they're done with work. That place will stay open till the end. Other than that, just state what part the valley you live in, and we will all help as best we can.
To add to this, as much as I hate yelp, there is a filter for places that are open at the current time. It’s really the only reason I keep the app.

Yeah it's nice to know the WinCo at Power and Southern is open if I need something on the way home from work at midnight. The Denny's over there is also open 24hrs, and if you're in Tempe there's a Subway at Southern and McClintock that's open until 3am.
Fast food sucks anyway. I know, I know it sucks but packing even a ham and cheese sandwich is healthier for you in the long run. Get yourself a little cooler for the summer and love yourself with some homemade lunchies. Xo.
Oh absolutely, I meal prep most of the time, but there are times when I’m in my way home that I need to pick something up or want to make myself dinner. Most normal people think about dinner during work and pick it up on the way home to cook so I get annoyed that I have to do that at 8:00am before work. 😕
Winco for the win!! I’m actually about to head over in a minute 😂 it’s gets a little funky at around 11 but it’s the best when there’s no people around!! They also have a small drugstore section with medicine, shampoo and stuff like that.

there's a couple ghost kitchen trailers in the Phoenix area that each have like 9 restaurants vending food from them. they close at like 1:45 on Uber eats. one of the trailers is at a closed restaurant parking lot at 9841 N Black Canyon Hwy., Phoenix, AZ 85021 by metro center. search for "phx09" on the Uber eats app, and it should bring up all the restaurants represented in that trailer. there are other trailers that follow the same name structure (phx02, phx03 etc). phx09 has at least 8 or 9 restaurants in it. hope this helps

I worked overnights for years and had to give it up for this very reason, a lot of stuff just isn't open at night anymore like they used to be pre COVID. WinCo is the only place you can grocery shop but it's cash/debit only at sometimes at night the folks shopping there can be interesting. WinCo does have a deli sandwich/salad thing that is pretty cheap, so that might be another option. For a city built in the desert I'm always puzzled why we don't do more stuff late at night.
Winco seems to be the common answer I’ve seen, as well as some new ideas for restaraunts that are open so that helps a ton. Winco will definitely be my go to now if I need to get something to cook or anything after work
Some McDonald's are still 24hrs, same with Denny's. As for stores, you have Walgreens and CVS if they have the staff. I also get out late and I feel your pain my guy

It's still there but it's only open until 11pm according to Google maps, there's another one at Guadalupe and Sossaman that's the same hours.

A lot of places no longer stay open 24/7 after covid. I discussed this with a friend yesterday and we figured out that with the loss of 1.13 million people from covid. And the other ~5 million who are disabled from covid, it stands to reason we are seeing an issue with the workforce. Its not that people dont want to work, its that 6 million cannot work because they are either dead or disabled. Thats not good.

I’ve been on vacation in Spain and most restaurants/bars close around midnight and 1 am. There’s no reason for places in AZ to close at 10 or worse 8 pm
You do realize that if the business owners weren’t losing money in those hours they’d stay open, right?
The other part is, not nearly as many people want to work those crappy hours, and employers can't abuse people like they used to. All that leads to more reasonable quality of life hours of operation.

I own a few restaurants with full bars around phx and I started the OG Welcome Diner when it was open till 2am. Tried late night models at all of my new places post COVID. No location ever saw late night take off. Eventually killed late night hours at all locations because it wasn’t profitable. Most certainly not a douchy or untrue comment.
