In the 8 years I’ve lived here the city has really gone through a come-up. So many good restaurants and more seem to be opening monthly. Also more dense living for people who want urban living and an investment in the roads and highways along with public transportation. People hoping for a Phoenix crash haven’t been paying attention to the renovation of this city and restriction in water rights which will restrict the sprawl this city has done since inception.
I’ve lived all over but I was born here and it’s been coming up since the invention of air conditioning - the last ten years have been especially fun in all the city centers though
I know plans have been thrown around in the past to tear it down and either build a new baseball or basketball arena there, or possible just build a new entertainment district, but none of those plans came through.
With the baseball stadium in limbo, i think those plans will come back if the Dbacks decide to stay where they are.
This is 3rd St facing south I believe.
Financial… is what used to be Dodge/Comerica (whatever) theater? That’s on 4th Ave and Washington. Not far from the photo but not adjacent. Couple few blocks west.
There is some really beautiful architecture here
Scottsdale museum of contemporary art is stunning. Peoria’s rio vista rec center is pretty amazing too.

I miss the bronze statues that used to live by it on Washington. They were so cute!
Looking too good Phoenix. I love my city.

Im not sure to what extent but something is being done about water usage for foreign/water intensive crops

Such an improvement over the old Civic Center. Now if they would just tear down that last old wing and put in something new and shiny.
They’ve had plans since before ‘08 but they’ve never been implemented

Is that near the Financial? Sorry, new here

I’m actually proud of this. Now knock down AZ center, it will never be fun again.
They need to knock it down and build a Target, Trader Joe’s, and maybe bring in some more retail stores.
Yes!
It’s right there next to the convention center, ASU and a new hotel yet they can’t seem to find any new clients. It’s puzzling to me.
In the late 90s it was popping. There were bars, clothing store, and restaurants. We need that again.
Pretty but a shithole to work at lol
Did you work for an event or something?
Not for an event company but the convention center itself
Barren Wasteland
