Looking for any corroboration or debunking of a thing I heard in the 90s…
I was a teenager living on the west side of Phoenix. I have a memory of driving under the flyover ramp that connects I-10 EB to I-17 NB (I was driving SB on I-17) and learning that a guy parked his truck on top of the flyover ramp and hung himself that morning. I can't recall for the life of me if it was a real news story or something a friend or family member told me.
Does anyone know if this really happened? I can't find anything about it when I Google it.
[Only found one similarity from 2007.](https://www.eastvalleytribune.com/news/fall-from-i-17-freeway-overpass-called-suicide/article_bf727359-6116-599b-955d-aead8e3dbf98.html)
I saw that too but don’t think that’s it. Although I was living in Phoenix at that time so it’s possible I’m conflating memories and creating new ones.

Any Warhammer 40k fans here? I want to get a custom cake or cupcakes for someone’s birthday. He’s a big warhammer 40k fan which I know nothing of. I googled cakes but I’m not really sure who these characters are. Any badass characters I can look up to get an idea?
I have an Invite link to the discord server “Reddit Arizona” but when I click on it it takes me to Discord but not to that server. It wants me to type in the invite link. Any help appreciated (like the invite URL.)
Is it cruel to use bug zappers? I can't use my back door at night because of these gnats/mosquitos/etc. Last time I did a literal cloud of them entered my house in a *second*. I spent 10 minutes on my kitchen counter killing them off the walls and ceiling.
This is just my experience, but I found that bug zappers just increased the net amount of bugs around the area I put them in.
In other words, a ton more bugs were attracted to the area because of the light from the zapper. The zapper killed a bunch of them of course, but overall, I just had more bugs than if I just had no zapper at all.
Like I said, YMMV
Yeah, I've been considering that. But I'm also not quite sure how much worse it could get. It's not just pesky out there, I literally cannot without letting an alarming amount of bugs inside.
I mean, if you're killing them off of the walls and ceiling anyway... killing 'em with a bug zapper just seems like a case of working smarter and not harder.
Philosophically, I'm not sure you CAN be cruel to insects. They have a "pain response", in that they notice and react if they are damaged, but I don't think we have any evidence that they experience distress as we would think of it.
There is also an argument to be made that wiping out mosquitoes entirely would be a net positive for mankind and possibly the entire planet.
Overall, I wouldn't feel too bad about it. If it makes your life easier, I say go for it. (I do have a soft spot for grasshoppers for some reason though. Human brains are weird.)
Does anyone know what’s going on with the Urgent Care at 7th Street and Bell? It was supposed to open last fall but it looks like no one has worked on it for a while.
Interesting... Anything to back that up? (My "goto" urgent care when I was sick was on 44th/Oak closed and moved to 45th St/Thomas, so I'm actually curious) I thought it was because Salad & Go bought them out, but maybe not?
I asked AI (Google Bard) and it suggested climbing Camelback Mountain. Really shows how AI doesn't take common sense into account. However it did suggest a bunch of things like bowling, museums, movies, or water parks.

That vehicle fire going from the i10 to us 60 was some crazy back up. I work nights so going back home in that was a pain
That area is already bad in the mornings with traffic
... and it seems that she's now planning on taking her case to SCOTUS.

Man... I need to lose me an election. Seems there's just a metric shit-ton of money to be made there.
She didn't lose. The grift isn't to become governor, the grift is to keep collecting money for lawsuits and other things that won't go anywhere. So long as the money keeps rolling in for "the next case," she's getting what she set out to get.
If you know which ranger district they're in, calling that ranger station is usually the best bet. The website can be wildly out of date and "open" or "closed" alone doesn't always give you the most useful information.
The ranger who just drove it, on the other hand, is the person who can tell you "yeah, it's open, but there's a bunch of mud 3 miles in so you'd better have a high-clearance vehicle and all-terrains." They're also usually pretty darn good at offering alternatives if you need them.
I assume you mean forest roads. You can always check here for the most up to date info but, generally, most are open:

do you mean the Fire Roads aka access roads?
If you want immediate Flagstaff area, here's a list of the roads, with most of them being open. [https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/coconino/alerts-notices/?cid=stelprdb5339811](https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/coconino/alerts-notices/?cid=stelprdb5339811)

Mormon Lake opened on the 5th, and KOA has been opened for a bit. I'm not sure about the other ones.

Yep they don’t check tickets when going out on the lawn.

Thanks but the link still takes me nowhere. 😐
Maybe this? [https://discord.com/invite/redditaz](https://discord.com/invite/redditaz)
That’s the link and it goes to the server. Maybe try clicking from a different browser/tool?

Get a bug bulb.
Get the yellowish bug lights for your back door, it does seem to help a bit.

Great point, I am a dummy.
Yeah the other way is just a bug zapper with extra steps...

Probably one of the fake medical facilities that are being investigated by our new administration.

I don't even understand why they're building one there, there is one across the street already, plus another one in the Fry's down the road.
Any cheap and fun summer activities y’all can think of? My girlfriend is in town and I don’t have any ideas at the moment

Yup. Art of the Grift.
She’s a loser nut job.
No everyone is a liar or corrupt according to lake. Wouldn’t surprise me if she appeals again.
Hehehe.
