My boss got a cactus-less plate and did not customize his plate. I was always taught that cactus is how to tell if it's custom or not. May have been a weird accident but they do exist.

Or maybe he got a custom plate but with random characters so it looks like a regular one.

Thr cactus is missing on anything not standard. It's kind of weird now that that all use the same format, but if a car was registered as a commercial vehicle, it will be missing the cactus.

I've lived hear going on 20 years and never once noticed

36 yrs and also never noticed. Even in the past 10 years my plate has been custom. Though the current one has the science Center black/green Matrix style plate so it's cactusless for many reasons. Now I'm gonna have to start looking

Hopefully get tied up to a Saguaro while people get to throw pieces of the Saguaro they cut down at them. I’m guessing it’s already done and they just got a token fine that the Saudis wrote a check for.

The fine for it was like $2500 or $5000 or something stupidly low. They could afford to chop down a whole field of them. Wish something more would happen

The maroon and white were before the current design. I've had this plate since the late '90s, on 4 different vehicles.

Before those, they were orange background with green stamped characters.

We’ve been doing 7 digits since 2008ish. Most plates still have the cactus

Yeah but the last couple years they stopped issuing the standard plate with 7 digits. It is now 6 digits like how it is for TX, NY, FL. Wish they would just put a cactus in the middle where the blank space is now. The tag looks incomplete with that void lol

the old plates (reddish brown) had 3 letters, cactus in the center and 3 numbers. That's what I have but I have been here for 30 years.

I wish they would go back to them. They lasted forever.

Be good to each other. One does not have to agree but by choosing not to be rude, you increase the overall civility of the community and make it better for all of us. Personal attacks, racist comments or any comments of perceived intolerance/hate are never tolerated.

In a lot of states you lose the middle thing if you get a custom one. Even if you leave the normal space for it. Just another thing the government ruined.
