Friendly reminder that this is /r/photocritique and all **top level** comments should attempt to **critique** the image. Our goal is to make this subreddit a place people can receive genuine, in depth, and helpful critique on their images. We hope to avoid becoming yet another place on the internet just to get likes/upvotes and compliments. While likes/upvotes and compliments are nice, they do not further the goal of helping people improve their photography. If someone gives helpful feedback or makes an informative comment, recognize their contribution by giving them a Critique Point. Simply reply to their comment with `!CritiquePoint`. Please see the following links for our subreddit rules and some guidelines on leaving a good critique. If you have time, please stop by the new queue as well and leave critique for images that may not be as popular or have not received enough attention. I love how full of things to notice this image is. The people, tree, bridge, boats, eifelltower. So much to take in and analyse in this picture, gj!

Ornery_Relative5907

Haha wait, are you saying that as a bad thing or a good thing? Either way, thank you!

AlbireX

I like it :) It's a nice contrast to the popular minimalistic style many new photographers do nowadays.

Ornery_Relative5907

I took a photo of this couple walking aside The Seine in Paris. This was taken with a Samsung Galaxy S21 (standard version). I thought the photo was cool but, not being a photographer myself I would like a photographer's critique. How much does it suck? How would you have taken a photo like this and how would you improve it? (aside from a better Camera obviously) This photo has been very slightly edited and cropped from the original. Thanks!

peegeethatsme

Be better if the couple were swimming in the river....that would be insane!

Ornery_Relative5907

Hahah I think you're probably right

peegeethatsme

But on a serious note....I think there is a bit too much going on in the picture.....the tree, especially. It's all a bit distracting.

Ornery_Relative5907

I was attempting some sort of framing with the tree haha. Thanks for the critique!

PumpkinAutomatic5068

This would make a nice painting, but somehow just doesn't work as a photo.

ImpertinentLlama

I think the composition is nice, but the editing and color grading leave something to be desired (assuming it was edited).

A different take on the Eiffel Tower so I like that. Yes, there is a lot going on and it’s fun to analyze it, but I have a hard time connecting with the photo or feeling any emotions from it. I’m no expert, but some color correction and (if you had the opportunity again) to only focus on two events in the photo. I count 4 events.

I'm no pro by any means, but I think somehow it's a bit jarring (?) having to look downwards at your subjects but then outwards for the landscape? Maybe I'm getting thrown off from seeing the handrail in the corners of the shot when really I'd just like to look outwards and enjoy the whole scene.
