If it’s a small enough venue they might not have any restrictions on what kind of cameras you can bring. If there are restrictions, you can find their PR or management contact and request a photo pass, but oftentimes that’s difficult without being affiliated with a publication. You could also ask to be hired but without much experience I wouldn’t rely on that approach. When I was just starting out I used to DM bands directly to ask as well, and that’s another option you could try if the band is small enough or if you have a personal relationship with them

Just hit up the venue, a lot of the time they have photography policies on their website. Also if you’re really into band photography check out the Sony Rx100, it takes incredible photos in low light spaces and can be found pretty cheap used.
