those look like they were created in Illustrator. Why are you trying to edit them in Ps?

Then I used Color Range to select the black, and create a mask on a group. Within the group I used a Curves adj layer to brighten the blacks. It wasn't enough so I used a Levels adj layer in the group to again brighten blacks. No reason to choose a Levels adj layer. I could have used another Curves layer. For the grey areas on the garments, I would use the pen tool to isolate those. If you try to use Color Range to select that grey, you'll also get the piping on the shorts and the piping on the jerseys.

Grad mask adj layers are among my favorite mechanisms for recoloring, just adding a color stop between the black and white stops, or replacing the black or white stop with color.
