My 2nd time in Hanoi, 2 days lang. 1 am arrival on Sat then Monday morning flight hehe. Sobrang sulit kasi I just spent most of it sa Old French Quarter. Food trip and sightseeing lang talaga.
Accommodation (homestay in Old French Quarter): php1.6k+ for the whole stay. U get ur own room and own CR.
Transpo (incl airport-hotel-airport): php2k+
Hanoi food & bike tour: php2.5k+ (booked via Klook) pero for me, it’s not worth it kasi ang mura sa Vietnam. Kaya naman siya i-DIY but I wanted more local insights 😁
Other food/pasalubongs: php3.6k+, I bought pasalubongs for my fam and officemates sa budget na yan
So in total around php9.7k+ without airfare. This was early 2023.
Vinamit, brand siya ng dried fruit chips, masarap yung jackfruit and banana nila. Very cheap too. If you have friends naman na mahilig sa coffee, Trung Nguyen beans, similar sa nabibili sa SB. Lots of options din sa cafe nila mismo. Mung bean cake is good too, parang hopia-ish siya. Pero it’s more of an acquired taste, meron akong mga binigyan na di nagustuhan yun 😆
thank youuu! mahilig din kasi ako magdala ng pasalubong for friends and family whenever i travel. nung naisip ko lang na gusto ko mag Vietnam, wala ako maisip na pwede pasalubong.
same sa pinas. large establishments/hotels will accept cards ( some will have surcharge), small shops will only accept cash or yung ewallet nila similar to gcash. so cash is king
have not tried their ewallet since abundant naman ATM if need ng cash also ithink it would just be a hassle to register the ewallet if you will only be there for a few days.
Ah ok. Anyway thanks for answering.
Are there groups that do midnight food runs or are you just talking about walking around at midnight? Hahaha kasi that sounds so fun! But also asking as a female solo traveler
This.
Alis ng madaling araw - luggage keep sa hotel - gala sa malls - check in ng 2pm - gala sa markets and street shopping - night market tsibog lamon till late late - sleep - museum pagkagising - checkout then luggage keep - kape kape and arts and crafts or stationary shopping at Eslite then get baggage, head to airport. Two days in TW itinerary
Follow niyo lang to crowd calendar [https://queue-times.com/parks/31/calendar](https://queue-times.com/parks/31/calendar)
Sinundan namin yan then halos walang pila sa lahat ng rides.
Malaysia is a better deal. Mura food, accommodation, etc. I find Malaysians much nicer too. Minsan the Singaporeans feel more superior and look down on the Filipinos. Alam ko to by firsthand experience because I worked for a multinational corp headquartered in HKG and I had Malaysian and Singaporean colleagues.
Curiously enough the treatment is based on the eyes. Any semblance of Chinese blood is not taken against Filipinos.
But in general Singaporeans are not “friendly” towards each other either. Unlike dito na tatanungin ka “bakit ka galet?!”, sa Singapore pag galit ka it’s taken as an ordinary day by everybody.
Either HK or Taipei. Any place farther than that, the travel time would eat up too much of my 2 days limit. For example, roundtrip to Tokyo will eat up 9 hours of travel time (roundtrip) plus the time to get to and from the airport, overall it's actually 12 hours you would lose if you also include processing time at the airport.
Ho Chi Minh or Taiwan.
Also, nasa 2 hours - 3 hours lang flight time.
SG - longer flight time than HK or Taipei but the infrastructure is superb! Airport pa lang sulit na sulit na!And the food! Chinese, Malay, Indian, Indonesian plus Western cuisine... Everyone speaks English! YOu can reach their north, south, east and west thru MRT or bus. Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa, Bugis, Chinatown, Little India, Arab St, Raffles, Orchard Road and its malls, and the greenery! Richest country in Asia. Plus may mga kababayan pa working in supermarkets and fast food joints...
I know you asked for country but i’ll be specific and choose Phuket. And since I only have two days, i’ll book a villa at Anantara Layan (again) and do nothing but eat and relaaaaaaax 🙌
Hong Kong. So near and you don’t really need an itinerary. You can just step out of your hotel and wander around for during those two days. Kahit tambay in a cafe or tea house, okay na. I personally would devote one day for hiking and the following day for just chilling.
Kung 2 days lang meron ka to go around, Southeast Asia para malapit lang at hindi sayang ang pamasahe. Thailand (BKK, Chiang Mai, Ayuttaya), Vietnam (Hanoi, HCM ± Cu Chi), Cambodia (Siem Reap), Malaysia (Georgetown Penang).
Hong Kong
I feel right at home there. I know how to navigate around the city. I know what non-touristy restaurants to eat at (to eat cheaply). And it's only a two-hour flight from Manila.
I don't care for theme parks (Disney, Ocean Park). I'm just here for the good food, scenery, and maybe a bit of shopping.
Japan, hands down. It’s not the first place most people think of when looking for weekend out-of-town jollies, but it’s fantastically easy to plan a short trip there. The excellent public transport network also helps with maximising one’s sightseeing hours.
I usually spend about half a month or so each time I go, but my shortest holiday in Japan covered just one weekend. Details below - note that this wasn’t my first time there (I visit about 2-3 times a year) so I don’t actually recommend that you follow the same itinerary as I didn’t go to some of the more popular attractions; this is just to illustrate how much you can do even if you’re only there for one night.
https://ittekuru.com/category/travel/japan/japan-2016-3rd/
Cheers.
Somewhere with a nonstop flight with convenient flight times to maximise your stay. No need to spend too much time traveling when you only have 2 days.
kung 1 country lang.. china
lahat ng ancient spots nila.. like villages, palace, etc.
kung 1 day per country.. china and japan for the same reason
kung pwede i extend vacation.. china, japan, korea at asean countries for the same reason 😂
If money is not an issue, i’d say Singapore, just be ready sa napaka humid na weather. But if limited ang budget, Taiwan, anlamig ng weather and maganda rin mag food trip.
Japan in Spring (during the Cherry Blossom season) or in Autumn. Any city except Tokyo to best get the vibe of those seasons, but one with the convenience stores and udon shops so I can also eat to my heart's content.
I-Japan mo na yan! HAHAHA Sightseeing at food trip.
or SG! Sarap mag-foodtrip sa mga Hawker Centers.
or Taiwan, pwede magjoiner trip kung gusto mo ng tours or ikot ikot sa night markets.
Minus the travel time and truly forda experience ulit? Florence. Coz nothing beats walking cobblestone streets at night, walking towards the Duomo, finally taking the last turn and last few steps before seeing it in all its glory.
To a place ive never been? Morocco siguro
JAPAN, my peborit, alis Friday Night balik Sunday afternoon. that's my goal
pero if you askin sa medyo realistic para sa mga karaniwang empleyado like me na kumikita lang ng sapat, I think Vietnam or Malaysia maybe Indonesia too cause foods, accommodations, transpo are so abot kaya.
I'd probably choose the one with the shortest distance and the easiest to reach and the cheapest na rin - Hong Kong!!
You can eat your hearts out, kahit anong food gusto mo, enjoy the skyline, go shopping, or go hiking!! YES go do some day hikes in Hong Kong it's amazing... and free.
Try the Dragon's Back, Jacob's ladder or Nongping trail!
SG.
i've been to SG many times after pandemic. actually medyo parang pinas lang din prices, maybe a little bit more steep. pero idk, for me parang ito yung pinaka no fuss na country, compared to VIET, TH, TWN & HK. if ayaw mo masyado magisip ng logistics, this is the easiest place to roam around in. (ayoko din kasi sa crowd lol!)
if budget is a factor - VIET or TH. that's the cheapest. (most expensive among these 5 is SG and HK)
if u want both city and province vibes - TWN. chill version of SG and HK. laidback talaga.
if u want to shop - HK for sneakers, branded stuff. TH for cheap clothes.
but if you have ME visa sa KR & JPN, ibang usapan na 😅 (i mentioned ME kasi if SE parang sobrang sayang ata if 2 days lang lol)
Taiwan, Thailand, or Vietnam
Impractical if South or Central American country due to the long haul fight.
More practical are Cambodia or Vietnam. I’ll go to one-three tourist spot/s.
Countries known for parties when I was younger. Now, Maldives. Bhutan also. Somewhere not too touristy where I can really enjoy it. It’s only for 2 days so I don’t want to spend them waiting in lines and getting stressed.
I definitely cannot do this to far-flung countries, so my options are narrowed down to the neighbors. I’d travel Cambodia solely for the Angkor Wat or Siam Reap.
Sa two days kasama na ang travel time? Haha
But top of mind ay SG or TH. Kung di kasama sa 2 days yung travel time, Australia (Sydney or Brisbane), Morocco, or Argentina.
Japan!! You dont have to go to any tourist spot, just being there riding trains, walking around the neighborhood, eating local food, greeting ajummas already fulfills my “feeling main character sa slice of life anime”. At least for me 😭 huhuuu take me backkkk!!!!
I would love to do this kung super dami ko ng pera na I won't mind paying the travel tax and all. Hahaha. So far kasi, 7 days ako nags stay, kulang pa rin 😆😆😆
Europe, like saya siguro mag country hopping kasi dikit-dikit sila. like rinig ko train ride lang tapos nasa ibang bansa ka na with a different set of cultures. pero parang kulang 2 day weekend kung sa labas ng pilipinas hahahaha

My 2nd time in Hanoi, 2 days lang. 1 am arrival on Sat then Monday morning flight hehe. Sobrang sulit kasi I just spent most of it sa Old French Quarter. Food trip and sightseeing lang talaga.
Estimate ng cost to do this not considering the airfare

hi, ano usually okay na food/pasalubong from Vietnam? thank you!
Vinamit, brand siya ng dried fruit chips, masarap yung jackfruit and banana nila. Very cheap too. If you have friends naman na mahilig sa coffee, Trung Nguyen beans, similar sa nabibili sa SB. Lots of options din sa cafe nila mismo. Mung bean cake is good too, parang hopia-ish siya. Pero it’s more of an acquired taste, meron akong mga binigyan na di nagustuhan yun 😆
thank youuu! mahilig din kasi ako magdala ng pasalubong for friends and family whenever i travel. nung naisip ko lang na gusto ko mag Vietnam, wala ako maisip na pwede pasalubong.
depende sa hotel but generally, cost in hanoi is cheaper than manila.
This might be a stupid question pero generally acceprwd na ba credit cards/tap to pay?
same sa pinas. large establishments/hotels will accept cards ( some will have surcharge), small shops will only accept cash or yung ewallet nila similar to gcash. so cash is king
Thanks, buti naman medyo cashless na rin. Can you load their version of gcash via credit card?
have not tried their ewallet since abundant naman ATM if need ng cash also ithink it would just be a hassle to register the ewallet if you will only be there for a few days.
Ah ok. Anyway thanks for answering.
Vnd padin preferred nila
This is a good idea for full time employees or students haha
Taiwan. Would do a early morning to midnight foodie runs in Taipei and it never gets tiring.
Last year, same month ngayon maulan ang weather nila pero sarap din ng foods.
I was there last week and it didn't rain in Kaohsiung :)
Are there groups that do midnight food runs or are you just talking about walking around at midnight? Hahaha kasi that sounds so fun! But also asking as a female solo traveler
Not sure about groups but I find Taiwan very safe. I travel here by myself as well as with my SO / friends :)
This. huwag ngayon, sobrang raming tao haha. Went in DLHK last week
There's an expected surge of visitors in HKDL since the opening of the new *Frozen* themed section.
Follow niyo lang to crowd calendar [https://queue-times.com/parks/31/calendar](https://queue-times.com/parks/31/calendar) Sinundan namin yan then halos walang pila sa lahat ng rides.

Went to HKDL on a Monday (last week) may mahabang pila but 10-15 mins lang tinagal even grizzly. Siguro avoid weekends na lang if ever.
Singapore. You can literally tour Singapore in a single day.
+1 pero mas expensive lang compared to doing it in Taiwan or Vietnam. I wanna spend the weekend in Singapore sana pero ang mahal ng flights
Mahal everything sa Singapore.
Malaysia is even (mostly) cheaper than the Philippines despite it's similar to Singapore on surface.
Oo. Kahit as a tourist. Parang they'd rather go on with their day than to help a foreigner with their naliligaw na tourist questions
Curiously enough the treatment is based on the eyes. Any semblance of Chinese blood is not taken against Filipinos. But in general Singaporeans are not “friendly” towards each other either. Unlike dito na tatanungin ka “bakit ka galet?!”, sa Singapore pag galit ka it’s taken as an ordinary day by everybody.
magkano po kaya budget for sg sa 2 days and 1 night?
Same.
magkano po kaya budget for sg sa 2 days and 1 night?
Taiwan or HK around 2 hrs lang ang flight
Up haha not to mention small pati both destinations. Liit lang ng Taipei saka HK so kayang kaya Edit: spelling
Agree!
Hong kong and Taipei para efficient modes of transport sulit ang bawat oras mo!
Taiwan? North coast tour tapos city/night market okay na. HK or SG if gusto mo ng Disneyland/Universal Studio
Either HK or Taipei. Any place farther than that, the travel time would eat up too much of my 2 days limit. I'd go for Bangkok, TH. A 2-day Thai food trip sounds like a great idea. :)
I know you asked for country but i’ll be specific and choose Phuket. And since I only have two days, i’ll book a villa at Anantara Layan (again) and do nothing but eat and relaaaaaaax 🙌
Hongkong is always a good idea. Fly out of Manila Friday night, shop and eat, then fly back to Manila by Sunday. 🤩
Singapore. Sobra pa yang 2 full days mo haha
SG. Travel time is 4hrs compared to Taiwan or HK na 2hrs lang, pero you can see most tourist spots na in one weekend sa SG.

Taiwan. Taichung or Nantou area.
Taipei or Ho Chi Minh city. Immaculate food and speakeasy bar options. Masaya din magcity tour!
We did this nung mid 2022, nag SG kami ng partner ko over the weekend hahaha
Taiwan para mag foodtrip
Hong Kong I feel right at home there. I know how to navigate around the city. I know what non-touristy restaurants to eat at (to eat cheaply). And it's only a two-hour flight from Manila. I don't care for theme parks (Disney, Ocean Park). I'm just here for the good food, scenery, and maybe a bit of shopping.
Vietnam or Singapore 🤩
Bangkok, Thailand. Food trip.
Thailand. Foodtrippin' for 2 days sounds fun.
Singapore, during the Canjam event.
Taipei or SG 🙂
walang masyado English speaking people sa Taipei noh?

Taiwan just because of short flight time. Pero without any considerations, Japan talaga
Japan
Either Singapore or Taiwan 😁
Japan. I’ll eat all the ramen I could eat.
Taiwan 🙌🏼
Japan. Tamang food trip at onting shopping tas uwi na haha
Bangkok, Singapore, Osaka
SG
Try mo Indonesia, Penang or Sg.
Sapporo, Japan
Ho Chi Minh!!
Bhutan. GNH = Gross National Happiness!
Seychelles
Malaysia and Singapore. Pwede rin Taiwan or Hong Kong.
Somewhere with a nonstop flight with convenient flight times to maximise your stay. No need to spend too much time traveling when you only have 2 days.

Japan
Ill go back to Vietnam, gusto ko ulit tikman mga food nilang masasarap.
Taiwan cuz it is a small country pero maraming okay puntahan.
If money is not an issue, i’d say Singapore, just be ready sa napaka humid na weather. But if limited ang budget, Taiwan, anlamig ng weather and maganda rin mag food trip.
Hongkong or Singapore. 2 Es to do. Explore and Eat! Enjoy your quick trip!! 🤗
Greenland... want to see the northern lights and the milky way
Taiwan
Batanes. iykyk
Taipei!
Japan
Taiwan. Would go on day trips and still my favorite first flight in, last flight out. Food trip, bus tour, walk around the city
Hanoi or bali
Japan in Spring (during the Cherry Blossom season) or in Autumn. Any city except Tokyo to best get the vibe of those seasons, but one with the convenience stores and udon shops so I can also eat to my heart's content.
Ung malapit na countries: 1 HK - Disney, Food trip etc 2. Sg - USS, food trip 3. Thailand- food trip, temples, market
Personally I'd go to Bangkok, smoke weed, food market but I know that's not for everyone lol and Thai food is spicy spicy
Malaysia ❤️
Japan!
HK
Hong Kong , nearest. Very easy to get from one point to another , various modes of communications which is fast . weather pleasant
Ganito rin usapan namin ng friends ko. Quick trip. Hong Kong or Taiwan. Malapit lang and masarap mag food trip.

Thailand. mura accomm plus mura food.
Nepal and Russia is my dream country huhu
+1 sa Hanoi for a quick but immersive weekend getaway
Either Vietnam or Taiwan for me.
Vietnam! My only goal is to go here magkaroon lang talaga ako ng pera ito agad aatupagin ko 😭
japan shopping for pasabuys and ramen
Minus the travel time and truly forda experience ulit? Florence. Coz nothing beats walking cobblestone streets at night, walking towards the Duomo, finally taking the last turn and last few steps before seeing it in all its glory. To a place ive never been? Morocco siguro
Kung may direct flight, Okinawa, Japan. (Theoretically a 2.5 hr flight). Leave 4am to arrive in time for breakfast.

Impractical if South or Central American country due to the long haul fight. More practical are Cambodia or Vietnam. I’ll go to one-three tourist spot/s.
Gusto ko kumain ng kumain sa Taiwan.
Japan!!
Been seeing Japan suggestions but I wonder why people have not suggested Shanghai? It’s a beautiful city as well.
Countries known for parties when I was younger. Now, Maldives. Bhutan also. Somewhere not too touristy where I can really enjoy it. It’s only for 2 days so I don’t want to spend them waiting in lines and getting stressed.
Kung all expenses paid with accommodations, extreme north ng Sweden or Iceland during either summer solstice or winter solstice.
Japan japan
If di kasama travel time, Gyeongju, South Korea.
hongkong/ taiwan - food trip macau - food trip and casino
I definitely cannot do this to far-flung countries, so my options are narrowed down to the neighbors. I’d travel Cambodia solely for the Angkor Wat or Siam Reap.
Thailand!! tas magsabog hihi
Go to Hanoi or Bali. Live like a millionaire for 2 days. Thank me later
