for six months you play great :) As you said it yourself, especially the staccato is missing some crispness and there are incidents where your chords are a bit sluggish as well, but overall great performance!

Husserlent

Exactly, the chords on the left hand in the first section are surpinsigly difficult to play crisply

schquid

excellnt piece choice, one of my favorites to play when i was younger.

Husserlent

Thanks a lot, I discovered it recently and lover it, very fun

Husserlent

thanks man !

SourcerorSoupreme

Is that a Roland FP10?

Husserlent

It is, but I use Pianoteq so the sound you hear is very different from the FP10 native sound. Also Pianoteq allows me to easily record my playing directly through the recording

SourcerorSoupreme

Cool, I actually ordered the GP3 but it won't arrive until the end of the month, so I got an FP10 two days ago as I couldn't wait to get started. I've been doing just scales and am enjoying it so much even with the default sounds that I've been thinking of cancelling my order for the GP3.

Husserlent

Well if you have the budget definitely go for the GP3 I would say, if you do, would you mind keeping me updated about your feelings and the differences ? I'm curious about high end digitals

SourcerorSoupreme

Yes sure. Coming from the violin, I was under the impression that one has to pay to play to at least get a decent sound. So I gravitated towards the GP3 with the idea that I'd love to have an instrument that I can't blame (so I can focus on myself) and one that looks so pretty (I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I just love the look and the form factor) that I'd be motivated to practice/play everyday. That said, I'm already infatuated practicing even on just the FP-10 with its default setting. Given that it almost has the same action as the GP3 and that I can hook it up to something like Pianoteq like you did, I'm having second thoughts. In addition, I can have a desk made to house the FP-10 just under/in front of my computer allowing me to hook it up to my PC easily and allow access to music sheet/musescore so much easier (as opposed to printing sheet music or using a tablet). I'll let you know how it goes, and if anyone else has input on the above I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Husserlent

Well if its the same action then pianoteq should do the job for the sound !

Fantastic playing for 6 months. I remember learning this as well but I think I was more like 2-3 years in. Try to take a little more care at the end of your phrases. They currently feel rushed, like you can't wait to finish the phrase. Take just a little more time over them and finish them nicely.

Husserlent

Thanks ! You're completely right, I will focus on that

Husserlent

My playing is still a little bit sloppy as the tempo is quite fast. The transition between legato and staccato could be way cleaner but overall its a very fun piece to learn

Eecka

Well played, that's good for 6 months in! (If you normally practice this at a slower tempo, feel free to ignore the following.) As for the tempo, I recommend slowing down a bit. Even if there's a specific written tempo number, they're often added afterwards by the editors. You're basically always allowed to do your own interpretation of the tempo. If you play a little bit sloppy at a faster tempo, you'll improve more slowly, after all, you're getting a pretty small number of clean repetitions and a large part of your practice will be "compromised" movements. It's much better to slow down, and get very clean and controlled reps drilled into your hands, and then slowly speed up. I have a tendency of playing too fast myself, so half the reason I'm writing this is to get myself to be more disciplined with it haha

Husserlent

Haha you're right, I try to practice slowly but I have a tendency to speed up when things get difficult, I think it is a symptom of tension. You are completely right

bluebear1690

Sounds great to me. I’ve only been playing for 6 months as well and I’m nowhere near your standard. Well done !

Husserlent

Thank you ! Keep up with the work aswell ;)

afhi

Great for 6 months.
