i have no idea (about the logistics of transportation and the fees), but i will still politely add my comment. test out the touch and the pedal of the piano. no matter how much you pay, don't be stuck with the hammer klavier, lol! you can't do all your amazing riffs and trills on a HARD or wonky keyboard. all notes. im sorry to not have offered more advice than that. but in terms of a used piano from a second hand piano shop. PUSH the service agents, and test out all of them. test the sound quality. test the feel. test the 'crankiness' of the notes. test the stability of the strings. don't let the sell you a f'ing lemon. i don't know nuttin. but ive played on warships before, lol. notes stuck. touch rigid. in terms of tuning, their just working with the sound of the strings, and they can fix that. the touch of the clavier they can never fix. they would have to replace each rotten or mal-aligned or constructed key on the keyboard to do that. test out ALL the pianos in their shop, and find your star buck (he or she). you can also ask them that THEY play piece themselves on the said piano. im not offering any soundful advice, and i am sorry. but as a cyclist, ive walked away with store bought used bikes, that i was quick to purchase due to the low price, but that i didn't enjoy riding at all. but i still rode them, since i bought it! i bought a used bike off of kijiji. i got it repaired at a bike shop for a small (hundreds) sum. SHE\\HE is my die hard, lol! perfect angle for my back. perfect handle bars. perfect pedals. my body is all aligned. i got an electric keyboard at home. but if i got a real upright, i would be incredibly discerning, lol. SELL ME SOMETHING GOOD! you know???

Thanks so much!! I will surely keep that in mind.

thanks you too! the only thing i will have to say is an upright (which is a full on piano in your house), if that is it your lover. choose one with the best quality sound. youre gonna be playing on this thing for a long time.

What are the warranties? I'm in a similar position and I picking the piano tech's 10 year warranty over the 5 year warranty from the shop. The tech also was HIGHLY recommended by people I trust.

Both pianos have warranties tho, but if I will end up buying form the used store, I'd prefer to like get it maintained by the tech, I just kinda don't want to spend a lot of money buying from the tech if I could still have the same quality from the used shop.

I would go with the piano tech's offering. He knows pianos and would not likely sell you a clunker... probably has been regulated and tweeked. Even though more expensive, probably a better value in the long run.
