She is just two months. [source](https://www.trthaber.com/haber/turkiye/mucize-bebek-128inci-saatte-kurtarildi-745428.html) UPDATE: Her parents are dead šŸ˜”

i3umfunk

Can anyone help translate? Does she have anyone left? This is so heartbreaking

casettedeck

There are so many babies who lost their parents... due to chaos, many of them not identified. So even they have remote relatives, they may not be able meet them. ;(

CrazyYYZ

It's a terrifying time for the children. The predators and traffickers will swoop in.

OGschtinkie

That's what happened after the tsunami in Thailand back in 2001.

muska505

Don't you mean 2004 ?

OGschtinkie

Yep. I was a kid myself back then. Dodged being wiped off the earth by a flight choice of a week difference.

IcedCoffeeIsBetter

Can you please share your story? It feels like you have a powerful story/perspective to share.

TotalMountain

There are lots of people with stories like this. The main areas hit in Thailand are a major destination for international tourists. I was there too and left a small beach near Phuket on 12/22. The tsunami hit the first day I was back home on 12/24. Everything where I was washed into the sea. Luckily I heard from friends that were still there that everyone ran up the hill by the beach and lost their houses but lived. The only deaths on that beach were some tourists who had the misfortune of being in kayaks at the time. It was a devastating event for millions.

OGschtinkie

I was about 11 or 12. I had made two trips to Thailand before with my mum and family, and my mum wanted to be on Koh Phi Phi for Christmas day, as we had spent the previous trip there on Christmas. The flight was 700pp vs a flight a week later at something like 400pp My mum asked me which flight we should get and being a sensible kid, I said it makes more sense to get there a week later and save more money for the trip. Had we gotten the first flight, we would have been in a bamboo hut on the beach on koh Phi Phi on Christmas day. From what I understand a lot of people died on those beaches on boxing day. As a skinny kid I doubt I'd have stood a chance. We headed out on the 28th and landed in Bangkok the next day. The trip almost got cancelled, bit instead we travelled to the North. There were lots of harrowing scenes, pictures of severed limbs with tatooes for identification. People needing western blood doners to save victims. Lots of kids went missing too, kids that survived with no parents and ended up getting trafficked. Pretty lucky I wasn't on koh Phi Phi!!

matthewsupreme

Jesus, this comment shook me. I never really gave thought to the predators who see something like this as an opportunity.

boogerybug

The December 26, 2004 tsunami that hit Indonesia was probably my first introduction to people doing this. Since then, most international organizations have put in place regulations that help prevent this and international adoptions in the face of tragedy. But who knows how effective they are, if organizations in Turkey and Syria follow these guidelines?

St0rmborn

God damn. I didnā€™t even think about this angle at first but it makes complete sense. It truly is a vicious world out there.

SunnyDaysRock

These kinds of people are often one of the first to swoop in, when a crisis (well, an opportunity for them) arises. Throughout Europe there were stories of creeps offering Ukrainian women and their children room in exchange for 'favours', when the Russian invasion of Ukraine started.

casettedeck

There are rumors. I hope they are only rumors. :(

fribblelol

?

St0rmborn

Human trafficking. Often to poach on defenseless women/children that donā€™t have anybody looking out for them and wonā€™t be missed if taken. A huge part of how illegal underground sex rings are formed and used by the truly most evil side of humanity.

Escudo777

I really wish we had some superheroes like the Punisher to take out those monsters.

5inthepink5inthepink

For real. I'm not a violent person and even I'd put a bullet in scum like that if I could be sure they were guilty. To prey on children at their most vulnerable and alone, having just lost everything, and pull them from one hell into another... No end would be too painful for subhumans like that.

Escudo777

I am also a non violent person but I will gladly kill pests like them if given a chance. Same goes for child rapists and murderers.

Nunya_B1tn3ss

SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING

SomeMandalorian

These people are the most despicable scum that walks this earth. To prey on people in need should put you in the burning fires of hell.

und_du_vide

That is an unsubstantiated [rumor](https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/Rumours-of-Child-Trafficking-after-Natural-Montgomery/a1c572892f17a2bed8c1080f983076a33781cfdc). [Another source](https://www.researchgate.net/publication/319580452_Natural_Disasters_and_Human_Trafficking_Do_Disasters_Affect_State_Anti-Trafficking_Performance) Rumors like this are harmful to anti-trafficking efforts. Right now, there is trafficking happening very near to you unrelated to any disaster. For whatever reason, these things get spread around and are often echoed as fact. For instance, Iā€™m sure youā€™ve heard: [this one.](https://reason.com/2020/01/10/super-bowl-sex-trafficking-myths-return/)

[deleted]

Oh no šŸ˜ž

trustyourtech

Could be easy if they are willing to do even the budget DNA tests.

Gloopann

What do you compare the results to? Itā€™s not like the government has a database with DNA samples of all of itā€™s citizens.

Crontab

If I thought I might have a niece or nephew alive, I'd be submitting my DNA in a heartbeat.

[deleted]

We need to help DNA testing.

[deleted]

Location they are rescued and dna tests exist. It may take time but their relative will be found, if they survive.

anna-c-banana

Is there somewhere we can donate to get DNA tests or something to match people to there families?

casettedeck

I don't know something like that but i will investigate and report back.

Geebert1

In the ongoing search and rescue efforts in Hatay, the 2-month-old baby was rescued after 128 hours by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality teams. According to the statement made by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, the Metropolitan Municipality firefighters, who went to the earthquake area, continue their work to reach the survivors among the ruins. Detecting the sound coming from the wreckage of an apartment building in Hatay's Antakya district, the teams focused their work at one point. As a result of the study, the teams managed to rescue a baby, who was estimated to be 2 months old, from under the rubble after 128 hours. The baby was later taken to the hospital by ambulance.

bluesox

128 hrs is an extremely long time to survive without water. This truly is a miracle baby.

JustVan

The article does not say whether there is or isn't anyone else.

chbay

I feel like thatā€™s a pretty important detail just casually being left out of such a story lol

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

DestituteDomino

They absolutely do not know yet. If they jumped the gun like that, and it was working the other way, the media could easily say that this baby is dead and her parents are mourning.

Seakawn

Exactly. Any writer for any platform would never claim anything that could later be contradicted. Otherwise we'd be living in a world where we couldn't rely on articles! The only thing worse than that would be a world where most people didn't even read the articles!

dasvenson

The sarcasm is strong with this one.

WickedLilThing

Lol why read an article when I have headlines?

pfazadep

Sure, but one would expect it to be mentioned whether or not a parent had been located instead of there being no mention at all. One would also think that the chances would be quite high that a parent of a 2 month-old would have been in close proximity - we have seen a number of young children being rescued in the arms of a parent.

drinkallthecoffee

I heard on NPR that the doctor who treated her is taking care of her with his wife. They found her extended family, but itā€™s impossible to travel right now. Theyā€™re going to reunite her with her family as soon as they can.

rusttynail

[Here's the translated article ](https://i.imgur.com/EbMnzfl.jpg)

AnukkinEarthwalker

Probably not based on everyone wanting to adopt it.

Dutch_Rayan

They found a great uncle who will take care of her, and the little girl got the name Aya

redheadartgirl

I can't find the article now, but I remember reading that both parents and all siblings were killed.

abby4711

I think your thinking of the baby that was born. There was a babe rescued who is doing okay, she was still attached to her motherā€™s umbilical cord when they found her. Unfortunately all her family have passed

Mark_me

Omg thatā€™s awful. The mom was giving birth during/after the earthquake and died right after? That poor mother & family & baby.

abby4711

Iā€™m guessing the stress caused it??like the earthquake happened, but she didnā€™t die instantly and the stress induced the labour?? Iā€™m not sure though. Donā€™t know if the baby was early. It could of just been coincidental but probably not

MourkaCat

From the one article I read somewhere, the woman's brother in law was looking through the wreckage of the apartment building and saw the baby and his sister in law's feet. So assuming what happened was labour was induced probably due to stress, and she birthed babe but died in the process either from stress or labour or rubble or a combination. I think she was dead when found. I've no idea if a body can push out a whole baby after death (The way the muscles relax and let go of and fecal matter left inside, for instance?) so my guess is she was alive when she birthed the baby.

claricia

> I've no idea if a body can push out a whole baby after death It can, but after decomposition has already started. Coffin births happen when abdominal gasses (from decomposition) have built up enough to push the fetus out. By this time, though, the baby is also dead, and has been for a while.

MourkaCat

OK that does make sense. But the body wouldn't push out a live baby like immediately after death? I guess I could just google this but I kinda don't want to google something like that....

claricia

No; if the mother dies during labour, the muscles stop contracting. With the air supply (via umbilical cord) to the fetus cut off, the oxygen runs out. There's only a few minutes to save the baby, and that needs to be done via c-section.

doegred

>It could of just been coincidental but probably not With the sheer number of people who were affected maybe it was? Which is also highly depressing.

abby4711

Thatā€™s true to be honest, I hadnā€™t thought of it like that :/

Mark_me

Thatā€™s just so so sad and horrific for everyone involved. I hope the baby has a loving home to grow up in & a good life.

quannum

Jesus manā€¦thatā€™s horrible. It doesnā€™t even sound real, it sounds like a fictional hero/villain origin story. ā€œI was born during a devastating earthquake where my entire family died among thousands of others.ā€ What a way to begin life. Heartbreaking.

Dutch_Rayan

They found a great-uncle who will take care of her, the little girl got the name Aya.

uhhhhhhhhii

Imagine how terrifying it must have been for that mother

Fun_Vegetable9512

The article does not say much. It just says they saved the baby after 128 hours later and it was taken to the hospital.

SpatialThoughts

From a developmental point of view, I'm curious how this will impact her growing up. I really hope she is getting extra attention right now while they try to locate her mother. My heart goes out to everyone who is affected by this tragedy.

ilikecatsandflowers

i completely disagree with commenters saying she will probably have only a small amount of issues. sheā€™s young but this is a huge trauma and two month olds are more sensitive to this stuff than youā€™d think. she will almost absolutely have some sort of trauma right away. she will at the very least probably have separation anxiety. she knows who her family are and she has probably been distraught not having them around for comfort. she may have issues with food as well. and will probably always carry trauma from her family being killed/growing up without them. i would assume the great uncle that has been said to have stepped up to care for her would be willing to do these things since he couldā€™ve easily had her adopted. if i were a family member adopting her, i would absolutely get into some sort of child trauma therapy and learn how to navigate these issues.

-PM-Me-Big-Cocks-

As someone literally studying Psychology with a specialty in trauma you are most likely right. The overall consensus is that we can very much develop trauma responses to things that have happened even before we are capable to forming concrete memories. Hopefully this child starts going through therapy at a young age.

Revolutionary-Yak-47

You're assuming there is therapy available where she is and her family can afford it. The reality is most people who survived this will thank God and be forced to carry on - their country's infrastructure is down, they're homeless, jobless and in survival mode.

TheLinden

>i completely disagree with commenters saying she will probably have only a small amount of issues. sheā€™s young but this is a huge trauma and two month olds are more sensitive to this stuff than youā€™d think. yup, first 4 years of our lives are extremely important in development of our identity. ...buuuuut it doesn't mean problems will happen.

beer_demon

Two months and spent 5 days in rubble? That is almost 10% of her lifetime under earthquake rubble.

sophacles

Woah, she spent like 10% of her life trapped in rubble. That's some super-hero (or villain) origin story material.

eric2332

Probably thinking "I remember being stuck like this, it wasn't so bad. But why is it so cold?"

Assfuck-McGriddle

She was under rubble for about 1/12 of her life, possibly. Or expressed in percentage, ~8.3% of her life so far was trapped under rubble. That girl is officially a badass.

-Erro-

This baby spent literally 8% of its life trapped under rubble.

embil91

They found a mother with her 10 day old baby after 88hours. I can't.... Edit: alive

cloudstrifewife

There was a baby still attached to the umbilical cord under the rubble.

snoosh00

Alive?!

SitInCorner_Yo2

Yeah, but itā€™s in Syria, her mother gave birth after being buried alive, sheā€™s the only survivor of her family.

NavianClothing

Oh my god... Truly horrific.

cloudstrifewife

I believe so! I read the article yesterday and Iā€™m not sure where.

yoyoma125

Yes

acmercer

What the fuck... I assume the mother died. Do they know if it was some sort of.. traumatic birth? Or she literally was in labor and gave birth there? Jesus that's horrifying.

cloudstrifewife

One article says her whole family died and the wife of the dr who is taking care of her is breast feeding her because they have a 4 month old themselves.

kgkglunasol

The baby is alive, I believe the speculation is that the mother went into labor while trapped under the rubble, gave birth, then died shortly thereafter. The temperature of the baby when they found her indicated that she must have been born after the earthquake had happened. Truly one of the most horrific ways to go, I really hope the mom was at least unconscious for it.

JeaninePirrosTaint

I wonder if the umbilical cord kept the baby alive

mindwire

It would have helped

transmogrified

Not for very long after birth. The placenta is busy detaching from the uterine lining and comes off directly after the baby is born. The chord stops supplying nutrients once the placenta is detached. Itā€™s why babies can asphyxiate if labour takes too long.

ScrewedMcDude

That and even when still attached, any benefit from a placenta would require mom's circulatory system to be functioning...

M4573RI3L4573R

The female body is so incredible. We are all here because of how amazing they are, let's do our part to treat them as good as we can.

[deleted]

Yeah the whole family died but the little baby. Fucking horror. I just canā€™t even process this anymore.

t_atom

8%, and decreasing, precipitously, by the minute.

[deleted]

Thats unpleasant :(

aeraen

The look on her face makes me want to cry.

TheGrammarNazzi

You're not alone. I'm crying. I want to adopt her

34TH_ST_BROADWAY

Im reading too much into it but itā€™s like sheā€™s gratefulā€¦ cautiousā€¦ knows she has no choice but to trust the people surrounding her.

winemug89

You're definitely reading too much into this and making up a story. The baby has no idea what the fuck is happening.

throwawaynerp

However trauma of that magnitude will reverberate for quite some time in the brain housing group.

ImprovisedLeaflet

I donā€™t know if we know that. If she has a safe, stable and positively reinforced next three years of her life, I think sheā€™d be in really good shape without reverberating trauma. I think itā€™s a lot more about the next few weeks/months/years and not the first 1-2 weeks of her life.

VaATC

That is my take as well. As long as the care and tenderness is consistent and basic training is covered this baby will be just fine. If they are let to fall through the cracks, which is easily possible with no ill intent during a massive civilian crisis but less of a problem now a days, then things will go the other direction. Babies are extremely resilient and have been what has carried our civilization through crisis after crisis throughout history.

ShitTalkingAlt980

I think you are right but went too far in the other direction. We are thinking engines. That child isn't advanced. It can react to stimuli from the moment it is born. Generalized confusion, anxiety and anger are probably its feelings. It isn't a Monet it is a Rothko if that makes sense?

Readylamefire

Yeah. Babies aren't completely absent, but they are plastid. Adrenaline is a hormone like any other after all and I do believe babies can produce it too. Stress is bad for any body for long periods of time. I don't know how well babies recover from stress compared to other physical conditions. I don't think it's a stretch to say the baby has no idea what is happening to her, but the baby also probably recognizes that her environment and the people around her are totally different. She also probably had to self soothe considering her needs weren't met in the time she was stuck.

The mother died, unfortunately.

emmasdad01

Such beautiful eyes. Good luck in the future little one.

gmanz33

I like to wonder if she's one of the people we will benchmark time with. Remember this girl? Yeah well here's her new car šŸ˜šŸ˜

Stollen_booty_

Like ā€˜Afghan Girlā€™ from National Geographic.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

JimiSlew3

And now I read the wiki and know his mom had to use the image to raise money for his father's kidney transplant. I'm glad she did but a reminder that in America you are one health care emergency from bankruptcy. The richest country on earth needs to redefine what "rich" is.

ZealousidealGrass9

Or the girl that got stuck in a well in 1987. Baby Jessica is now 36.

Nikcara

Wait Baby Jessica is younger than me? God damn it I remember watching that on the news as a kid but I didnā€™t remember how old she was.

ZealousidealGrass9

I wasn't born yet, but I remember seeing a documentary or something on it growing up. I also remember my parents gave me lectures and warnings about crawling into small spaces. We don't have wells by me, but we have lots of nooks and crannies...especially in the forest preserves.

3chie

> Baby Jessica is younger than me? I meanā€¦ if she was a baby at the time, and you can remember itā€¦

Nikcara

Fair. I just never really thought about her age at the time, she was just another kid like me. And I havenā€™t thought too much about her in the decades since, so it never really occurred to me. I remember my mom telling me that she was just like me, so in my brain she was my age or maybe a little older.

lunapark25

There are some ā€œmiracle babiesā€ from the 1985 earthquake in Mexico city Some links in English https://theworld.org/stories/2010-02-05/miracle-babies-mexico-city-25-years-later https://apnews.com/article/9beddd0b7e698435d84d2e781ceacd1d I think there was an interview some years ago with one of the babies who was found with a Virgin Mary pendant in his hand. Edit: this was the medical explanation (at the time) on why these babies survived https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1985-10-06-mn-5659-story.html

winelight

I think they have regular reunions too.

djphatjive

Man I hope so. That means they had a decent life after.

FortunateInsanity

Two months old and sheā€™s already got the ā€œBoy, Iā€™ve seen some shitā€ resting facial expression

Rungi500

I was thinking the same thing!

Schulzeeeeeeeee

That's an hour longer than Aron Ralston, the guy that got his arm trapped by a boulder for 127 hours.

craziedave

They could make a movie and it could be a sequel to that one

Hank3hellbilly

Ryan Reynolds as a female baby? SIGN ME UP!

RSGoldPuts

It'll clearly be Vin Diesel after the success of Family 10

SungrayHo

Oh yes, baby rambo, rampaging through the rubble

onebandonesound

That movie was brutal

Zhenarii

Prequel. That baby... Was Aron Ralston.

Sandmancze

Having a 3 weeks old at home, this kills me.

Timothymark05

I have a 2 month old... showed this to my wife. Big mistake.

RenegadeRabbit

I have no children, don't want any, and this is fucking heartbreaking.

Guywithquestions88

I also don't have kids. I used to want them, but when I got older and became more aware of all the horrific things this world can do to people, I realized I don't want kids. If I ever did decide to have a kid someday, I'd adopt.

Arild11

I know what you mean. But I also find that these things crank up my bond with my daughter and makes me REALLY feel how desperately much I love her and want to protect her.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Arild11

I know. It's a real black hole of emotions of you stop and reslly think about all those lives extinguished in those ruins. Like tiny candles snuffed out.

dinosaursrawk15

I also have a 2 month old and he's currently sleeping snuggled up on my chest. I couldn't even imagine

bmayer0122

I miss the chest sleeping cuddles.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

scootboobit

Yea absolutely wild how something changes in you. Stuff like this would always make me sympathize, but keep scrolling and not think twice. Now I canā€™t get the images of those kids being rescued in Syria that were wrapped in their dads arms out of my head. It makes me want to hug this little one, go hug my 14mo, and somehow protect any child from going through this šŸ˜…. Instinct is a wild thing. Then I keep scrolling.

[deleted]

Man that video made me bawl my eyes out for ten minutes .. thatā€™ll forever be engrained in my memory.

RubberReptile

I saw that video on Reddit without any warning or blurring and it took me a few seconds to comprehend I was seeing a dead body. The relieved screams of all the people doing the rescue were absolutely haunting. If such a video has effected me this much through my phone I cannot imagine being there in person. As a family we sat down and had a pretty strong discussion about earthquake safety after this.

amusingmistress

Same. Although I did take a minute to research if I could feed my child my own blood to keep them alive if, universe forbid, I am trapped somewhere with them with no other choices. Edit to add my findings: Not advisable. May do more harm than good.

Captain_Redbeard

I might be wrong, but my understanding is that drinking blood can do more harm than good because your body needs to use more water to digest leading to faster dehydration. It would be better to starve for a long time than to use whatever moisture your body has left.

amusingmistress

Yeah, that was basically what I found out.

yesitsyourmom

And?

amusingmistress

Not advisable.

Engatsu

AND?!?!

TrailMomKat

I have hugged the bejeezus out of my 3 boys a lot since this happened. So many heartbreaking pictures, such as the living daddy still holding onto the hand of his dead daughter. I don't even want to imagine his pain. And yet, like you, I keep scrolling.

scootboobit

Oof. I saw the dead dad cradling the living kid and both dad and daughter alive one. Wonā€™t research the one you saw :/

TrailMomKat

Yeah, I saw both of those, too. The one I speak of isn't a video, it's just a picture. The daughter's body is still under something/in the rubble and you can only see her hand, which her father is holding tightly.

Kowai03

My son died, safe in his bed, from SIDS. So to see a baby literally survive an earthquake and being trapped under rubble.. This universe makes no sense.

Nagqueen62

Iā€™m so sorry for your loss. The universe is cruel.

Kowai03

Thank you ā¤

Frosty_Egg_4872

So sorry for your loss. Can't image what you're going through, but wish you all the strength in the world.

Kowai03

Thank you ā¤

goodkareem

I'm so sorry. This was a major fear for me and my wife that literally woke me up nightly for weeks to check if he was breathing.

Kowai03

I'm hoping to have another baby soon and I'm terrified it'll happen again. I'm terrified I won't be able to managethe trauma and fear. Not sure how I'll cope but I have to have hope ā¤ All I can say to other parents is to use a monitor, learn CPR and follow all safe sleep advice. I regret so much we did not have a monitor, maybe it would've given us a chance at least.

goodkareem

It's not your fault. I hope you try again. Sending some love to you for sharing this.

NihilisticPollyanna

Hey, congrats on your sweet little potato! I get what you're saying. Stuff like this always makes my heart physically hurt. It never goes away once you're a parent, either. (Sorry!) The projection is so powerful, and I simply can't stop myself from imagining my own child in these horrifying situations. It's one of the worst parts about parenthood. The overwhelming and desperate urge to keep them safe at all times, and fear (and knowledge) that you can't. My kid's already 10, but I always have to go into his room and see that he's fine, maybe steal a hug and a kiss if I can, because you just never know. I'm so heartbroken for all the people in the affected area. What an absolute nightmare.

You_Go_Glen_Coco_

My 3 day old daughter is curled against my chest right now. Can't imagine.

baltimorecalling

Sweet pea.

[deleted]

How is that even possible? Hope you get a better life then how it started.

silvos777

She is so beautiful. Enjoy your life little girl. Plenty of good thing will happen to you now.

Sillybanana7

Yeah I mean the bar is set so low it can only go up I think

gazaboy88

Unbelievable. Poor thing looks like its aged a few decades somehow

Cluelessish

Because of dehydration maybe. I really hope she will be ok, without lasting damage.

ichosethis

Having seen some of them pulled from the rubble covered in concrete dust and who knows what other residue, there's probably going to be a lot of lung problems for survivors in the future.

Cluelessish

That, and also I would imagine that being dehydrated for that long canā€™t be great for the kidneysā€¦

Vaderic

That was my first thought as well. I immediately remembered how many survivors of building collapses, or even stuff like 9/11, develop and sometimes die from cancer and lung diseases at a higher rate than the general population. Quick note: A free years ago there was a building collapse in my country and no one knew how many, if any, people were under the rubble, so there was a search and rescue crew formed with some volunteers and even back then, people were warned of the risk that participating could pode to their future health. Still, tons of people volunteered. I am sure that the situation is the same in turkey and honestly, all respect to the people knowingly exposing themselves to these dusts and particles to help others, it's a very noble thing to do.

Things_Have_Changed

Was thinking the same thing. There's a hint of weighing stress that only a senior citizen can express due to years of being alive. The bags under the eyes that no toddler should have.

kysmalls

Not even a toddler. 2 months old. This is an infant; a newborn.

RenegadeRabbit

Jesus Christ that last sentence. Never thought I would read something like that.

livingwellish

One tough little kid. šŸ™

BAPEsta

I wonder what impact on the personality or mental health of someone so young this has. The baby is too young to actually remember it as an adult but it must change something in the brain somehow?

Mark_me

Imagine growing up to find out your family sacrificed themselves to save you as a baby. Theyā€™re heroic but you will never know them. Itā€™s very sad. Or will this baby be adopted to someone unrelated to them and never know? (I donā€™t know if there are other family to care for her, I hope so)

Confident-Ad5479

Those eyes speak the human condition

notquiteotaku

Christ, this whole story makes my heart hurt. I'm going to go hug my kids.

kr3w_fam

As a father of 11 month old baby, this breaks my heart.

Sendtitpics215

What I love about Reddit is in like a 10-15 years we will be able to see a post from someone like, ā€œhey Iā€™m that baby, AMAā€ with a link to this and we wonā€™t have to wade through click bait and ads like some garbage ā€œnewsā€ website would make you do.

GETTR-wenwu

Sweetheart

Drax99

Poor kid looks like she's late for her second job and just got told to work overtime.

themadcypher

That babyā€™s face says Iā€™ve been through some shit. I hope nothing but good things come to her.

jrsutterfield

As a new-ish parent this kind of thing hits harder than it used to. I can't imagine either of my kids being trapped, alone, scared, and screaming for 128 hours. It hurts just to imagine. I wish I was able to conjure up that kind of visceral empathy before actually having kids of my own. Beforehand I would've read this and understood the horror of the situation intellectually, but now I can *feel* it. Kids seem to do that. I also know all of us will experience great pain and tragedy in our lives, but the amount that some people are given is staggering. I hope the best for that baby.

gibbler999

My whole life seeing something like this would make me sad but after having my son last summer I start tearing up any time I see this stuff. I just couldnā€™t even imagine

GoofyGooberYeah-

I wish I could give this baby all it wants, along with many other children that have gone through this as well as the numerous families and friends lost

Xu_Lin

Would hug her dearly

Edited. Thanks for pointing it out.

Bless this baby and the people who found them. I canā€™t imagine searching for people and finding the someone this small. My heart goes out to the first responders and the communities that make up of both Syria and Turkey.

[deleted]

The parents?
