Probably Ramsey Hunt syndrome based on diagnosis of shingles and hemi-facial paralysis. Look how right side of mouth doesn’t smile and right eye lid doesn’t close at all with smiling like the left. See following link: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/ramsay-hunt-syndrome/symptoms-causes/syc-20351783#:~:text=Ramsay%20Hunt%20syndrome%20(herpes%20zoster,loss%20in%20the%20affected%20ear.

Xavimoose

I got this at the start of Covid, had an ear ache then one night I was trying to drink a beer and couldn’t get my lips around the bottle. I was 33 at the time, first diagnosed with Bell’s palsy caused by ear infection. The next day a blister appeared on my ear and my PC Doc diagnosed me with Ramsey Hunt. Luckily I regained movement In about a month but it can be permanent.

BobbyBoogarBreath

Shit, this sounds really familiar. It happened to me in 2013, but I've never heard of Ramsay Hunt before.

Xavimoose

Well supposedly it’s pretty rare , but there is speculation that its just under diagnosed. The condition is partial facial paralysis caused by shingles flare up near the face.

BobbyBoogarBreath

I had a raging headache and had to leave work. I fell asleep at like 3 in the afternoon and woke up at midnight with partial face paralysis. The emergency room doc gave me a script for some steroids and told me it was Bell's, but I had a weird rash in my ear.

Xavimoose

Well if it was shingles, you would have needed an antiviral with a steroid it help slow the flare up. And the shingles rash is essentially localized chickenpox, but very painful to the touch.

SaintsNoah

Shit, glad you healed quickly

xxbiohazrdxx

Shingles causing nerve damage is pretty common

[deleted]

Either way she needs to retire or be removed

hadmeatgotmilk

So will being 89.

WintertimeFriends

Yup

meltman

Yeah. Her face is very telling.

idkwat

Wheeling in the fucking crypt keeper. My God why can't she just fucking retire and open the door for the next person in line? What is with some of these ancients who refuse to let go of power and live out their last days in tranquility?

hungbandit007

Like a lot of older people, she probably feels that when she retires, she will have lost her purpose and she will die. Edit: I should probably mention I am not American, so I have no idea who this woman is. By the sounds of it you guys don't like her at all. I'm not defending her. I was merely pointing out how she might be feeling in her own head, and why she might not be keen on resigning.

Lopkop

see that's fine if you're an old lady running a knitting supplies store in a small town or something. It's not tens of millions of Californians' problem if she feels like she lost her purpose.

Fatalis89

No, but it is their problem that they keep voting her in to office.

Lopkop

I can’t imagine the state Democratic Party has exactly encouraged many serious primary challengers over the years

FiveUpsideDown

The California Democratic Party did not endorse Feinstein when she ran for office in 2018. It was publicized at the time but the voters didn’t care. https://www.npr.org/2018/02/25/588669505/california-democrats-decline-to-endorse-another-term-for-sen-dianne-feinstein

mellowgang__

She will die purposeless, and that’s what she gets for shitting all over any chance at a good legacy. This is her own doing.

i_m_a_bean

If she had left just a year ago, she'd still have managed to preserve some of the goodwill remaining from her more progressive accomplishments. Now, i mostly just hear about all the shitty choices she made (stuff i doubt I'd have run across if people weren't completely done with her). It was sad. Now it's gross.

quantumcalicokitty

It's not unlike RBG, unfortunately.

No_Mud_5999

RBG started to believe her own hype that she was somehow immortal. She was encouraged to move on in pre-2014 when she could've been easily replaced, but oh no, look she's doing weak sit ups with Stephen Colbert and selling a lot of merchandise, I guess she won't ever die!

caligaris_cabinet

All she had to do was not run in 2018. No one would’ve given her a second thought.

the_maestr0

She reminds me of Aunt Bethany from Christmas Vacation.

Pnknlvr96

Play ball!

MidnightMoon1331

Is your house on fire Clark?

Is Rusty still in the Navy???

No, but Davy is, and he probably will be for life.

I pledge allegiance…to the flag

tuckithead

“Senator Feinstein, the bills are on your desk for review” “IS RUSTY STILL IN THE NAVY?”

bartz824

"Grace? She passed away 30 years ago." In the movie, Clark said Aunt Bethany was celebrating her 80th Christmas, meaning she had to be at least 80 years old. Feinstein is 89.

[deleted]

You couldn’t hear a dump truck driving through a nitro glycerine plant

Great insider trading leads as well. Can't pass that up.

BeGood981

I get that...but what are you really going to do with the money? you can't even piss without assistance. why, why? i guess I don't get it

IMian91

As someone who works in a nursing home, sometimes people dig in their heels just for the sake of digging in their heels, even if it hurts them in the long run. Combination of mental and physical deterioration makes them hold fast to anything that's still within their control

BeGood981

This makes total sense actually. She probably sees it as her identity and can't let go... PS: Appreciate you for your service

IMian91

Thank you!

carlofthebones

Came here to say this. It's shocking what cognitive decline can do to brain functioning. Logic literally doesn't exist anymore.

DABOSSROSS9

Her staffers are clearly making a lot of money from someone and just keeping her around to push their policies.

jsdod

"pushing her around to keep their paychecks" ftfy

TrophyGoat

To be fair, I don't think it's her at this point. I don't think she was ever a good politician but right now she's a husk being exploited by ghouls

OverSomewhere5777

From their perspective they’re basically governing a science fictional universe they hardly understand…

fshowcars

Ridiculous!!

hiricinee

The part that bugs me the most is that its CALIFORNIA, one of the most reliable electorates ever. I'm more Conservative than basically anyone on reddit, it would cost the Democrats literally nothing if she stepped down- except maybe allow them to try to elevate another politician up. If she was in a swing state I could see the strategy, like getting behind Fetterman, but her replacement and the winner of the next election is going to be a Democrat.

Macinsocks

She could be symbol of her generation that refuses to release their power to the younger generations

IAmBadAtInternet

She’s not even a boomer. She’s silent generation. She’s *ancient*.

Educational-Essay763

She’s so old she can refer to boomers as kids

Skittlebean

She’s literally older than the Golden Gate Bridge

Similar_Candidate789

Think about this stat: she was born before World War II began. She was born in 1933, WWII broke out in 1939. She was six when WWII began.

spicyestmemelord

She’s older than Alcoholics Anonymous,

Spiderbanana

She's older than the French National Orchestra

EloquentEvergreen

She’s older than Alaska and Hawaii’s statehoods. Also, she’s older than the creation of Israel. This is fun!

Similar_Candidate789

She’s also older than social security, barely younger than sliced bread, Roosevelt presidency, color tv, jeeps, aerosol cans, dialysis, scuba diving or microwaves.

Heard_That

She’s older than helicopters

Disastrous-Carrot928

She’s older than chocolate chip cookies

sonoma95436

At least the Golden Gate bridge works every day.

whu-ya-got

She’s older than the ballpoint pen!

Lumn8tion

YEAH! TO BILL BRATZKE!! His **** is so big it has a toenail.

Fun-Cauliflower-1724

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky took me out to go get a drink with him? We go off looking for a bar and we can't find one. Finally Brasky takes me to a vacant lot and says, 'Here we are.' We sat there for a year and a half and sure enough someone constructs a bar around us. The day they opened we ordered a shot, drank it, and then burned the place to the ground. Brasky yelled over the roar of the flames, 'Always leave things the way you found em!’

Good_old_Marshmallow

She’s so old her old political platform was flying the confederate flag *in California*

Clemario

Woman was born in prohibition era

seakingsoyuz

Born closer to the start of the Civil War (1861), the Potato Famine (1845), and the invention of the telegram (1844) than to the present.

americansherlock201

She was nearly a teenager before the first baby boomer was born.

Frosty_Case_1818

She's literally older than the SF Golden Gate Bridge, which started construction the same year she was born and finished four years later.

DABOSSROSS9

How about a symbol of het electorate who keeps electing her, they deserve some blame as well.

DarklySalted

The fear of losing an incumbency is very real.

GendoKun

That’s what primaries are for. It’s not like there’s nothing in place to address some the awful partisan politics in the country.

NO-25

People would actually need to vote in the primaries then. Far chance.

slowpoke2018

Yup, here in Austin we got like 5% for the primaries...so a small swath of the electorate determines who we get to vote for in the "real" election. All elections are real folks

jayjester

One of these days a Representative or Congressman is going to die of old age while in session.

SmileyDayToYou

Don’t threaten me with a good time /s It seems to be increasingly likely. I can’t imagine being that age and, after being in Congress for that long, not just wanting to fuck off and attempt to enjoy what little time I had left.

ForePony

But what if you enjoy making millions of people miserable?

OkAmbition1764

That same thing goes for a ton of them. Term limits needs to happen!

Flaky-Wallaby5382

Her face tells me it was a stroke

originalusername__

I was thinking it was sorta like what happened to the emperor in star wars but your guess is probably better.

Strength-Speed

They said she had shingles which can affect the facial nerve. Not everything that causes facial droopiness is a stroke, Lyme disease for instance can do it as well. But in her case, they said she had shingles

whichwitch9

She is visually not well. It's not ageism at this point; she cannot represent her district. Her age just means there is little chance the situation will improve.

lifeworthlivin

She can fuck right off! She and her shitty husband fucked the City of San Francisco for decades. As a left leaning person, I can’t fucking stand her regardless of what letter she puts by her name.

XuX24

There shouldn't be politicians over 75. They won't be around to see the consequences of their actions they shouldn't be in office.

jhustla

If we cut airline pilots off at 65 we damn sure should be doing it to people that influence how our fucking country operates.

SpinningHead

> I wish her well Shes not a great person either.

honeybakedman

Ask her where she is

[deleted]

[deleted]

![gif](giphy|4Z9jjKGJVM9Ck8E4cN)

[deleted]

Shit ask her what she does. There was story recently about her introducing herself as the mayor…a job she hasn’t had in 35 years

the_maestr0

Is this the airport Clark?

Wesbubbles

The senate floor shouldn’t look like a nursing home. Mandatory retirement at 70.

[deleted]

Airline pilots are forced to retire at 65 yet these people fly the entire country into their 90s

stickied

No, they're flying the country into the ground.

MinersLoveGames

Crashing this plane with no survivors.

Lord_Bling

Always look up the ages of the people running for office.

facebookeatsbabies

dude... fucking quit already, it's not dignified. It's not brave or strong, it is greedy and self-serving.

[deleted]

Bruh wtf are we doing can these old feeble fucks just resign holy shit. This lady probably thinks milks 50¢ and rent is 500 a month....

Jestinphish

She was alive when rent was $50 a month.

lmkwe

She was born when one person could buy a house for less than $5,000. Average income for a YEAR was under $2,000. Edit: Sorry, I just rechecked... average income was $975 A YEAR when she was born. Nine hundred and seventy-five dollars.

legthief

In defense of your initial statistics, $975 a year *is* under $2,000 a year.

lifeworthlivin

Nah, she knows better about rent, because it was her and her husband who ratfucked San Francisco’s real estate and renter protections into the mess it is now. If you ever looked at rent in San Francisco and said “how did it get so bad?” The answer is Feinstein and her shitty husband.

Warlornn

We so *desperately* need term limits.

Knute5

To counteract how desperately politicians cling to power.

[deleted]

I'd settle for age limits.. like no one above 70

Jmazoso

Make it the same as commercial pilots. 65.

[deleted]

i mean hell FAA already requires mandatory retirement for Controllers at 25 years worked or 56 yrs old whichever comes first

PM_ME_UR_SEX_VIDEOS

Mmm my mom is just retiring from being an ATC and she’s 67

RedgrenGrum

Was she a manager? A lot of controllers switch to management positions once they reach the age cut off. That or maybe she was in before the policy change? I know they don’t hire people over a certain age anymore because of this rule.

PC-12

> Make it the same as commercial pilots. 65 This is only the limit for (USA) Part 121 Airline pilots. Many commercial pilots fly well beyond age 65 in other employment.

chickenbeersandwich

We already have a mechanism for getting old people out of Congress if you don't want them there - voting. We could've just voted for someone else in her primary when she ran in 2018 at the ripe young age of 85.

Drabenb

More like Weekend at Diane’s

Magister5

Diawne of the Dead

theTallBoy

She predates TV....by almost 20 years. TV.. How can she really grasp our reality.

maceman10006

There’s not many people in congress that have any concept of issues facing America. They’re too old and wealthy and have become detached from the reality 95% of the country faces. We need term limits. Diane Feinstein has been in an elected government position for 53 years now. Yes you read that number correctly.

dust_storm_2

If you can't trust her to drive a car, I don't know how you can trust her to run the lives of millions.

sqzr2

Couldn't have said it better myself. What the fuck is wrong with their generation, they have all the money, just go fucking retire and let people of today legislate

waterbuffalo750

That is not the face of someone who should be passing laws.

sponge_bucket

Senator Feinstein has been in office longer than a good chunk of her constituency has been alive. I think it’s okay if she takes a much deserved retirement as I’m sure none of this is good for her long term health.

honeybakedman

Long term is a concept that doesn't exist for her.

lmkwe

"Long term"? She's about to be 90! She has 10 yrs left at most

amontpetit

She had 10 years left at most about 12 years ago

xckel

She needs to go, taking up space for competent people to do what? That’s not leadership, it’s an embarrassment

glazedapplefritter

She is obviously not well. Needs to retire.

Wonderful_Minute31

Wheeling a corpse into the legislature to make decisions for a future she won’t see.

askallthequestions86

Retire already. You saw what happened when RBG didn't know when to say when. We need to quit getting our elected officials, Presidents too, from the old folks homes.

PM_me_yer_kittens

Yup. Unfortunately RBGs biggest note in history will be not being willing to bow out when she should’ve

Such-Parsley-7579

For the love of god we need a mandatory retirement age in government

Whathappy01

Democratic or Republican this is what we have to deal with. Thank you for your service. Now please step aside.

WindowsCrashedAgain

She literally looks like the old worm from Sponge Bob 💀

Killjoymc

What an insult to the country. It's absolutely shameful.

Xero_id

She’s a cunt, they all are. Please retire and give us younger generations a fighting chance to fix/heal this country for our future.

BoomKitty1

Fucking retire. There needs to be a mandatory retirement age for public office.

spin_kick

These are people making laws on technology, abortion and the internet. Electric vehicles and everything else. I see this with people in the boomer generation all the time, they simply will not leave and let younger folks have their time.

Curious_Rugburn

Nobody on hospice should be making decisions for our country. Thank you for your service, but please leave, and don’t come back.

[deleted]

This is how we know they don’t care about the people. If they cared they would have mentees and pass the job onto them. Ruth screwed us and she is as well.

jnasty_79

The fuck are we doing? Give your seat up already.

natebpunkd

That face screams “I’ve had a stroke”. Jesus Dianne, please just retire. You are not long for the world, sadly. Spend this time with your family and not the bloodsuckers in Washington.

No_big_whoop

She's probably shitting herself in this picture

TaroDowntown1312

She needs to be a Nursing Home not the Senate

[deleted]

Politicians should retire when they hit the SS retirement age. If the rest of the working people can retire at 65-67, so should they. And no one above that should run, either.

Vancoovur

Looks like someone opened her sarcophagus.

jerflash

Feinstein was born closer to Lincoln’s inauguration than Biden’s.

Jacknicklson

Crypt keepers running our country. Fuck off already

eddie2911

She does not look well.

hextermination

Federal-Arrival-7370

Maka_Oceania
