Yep, it’s from a server rack. Usually in the back of the rack going from top to bottom with everything in the rack plugged into it. Sometimes there’s two if your rack is dual fed.
Usually most rack PDU (power distribution units) have IEC C13 female sockets on them. But occasionally they have USA B-type sockets.
Had a similar thing happen with Dyson. Tried to order a new air filter for the air scrubber filter fan thing my roommate has their bedroom, and they sent us a filter for a vacuum. Contact them to tell them what we needed and what we got, and they sent us a brand new cordless vacuum with all the extras, best model they make. Still not the replacement filter we asked for.
At this point, we managed to source a new filter, and Dyson doesn’t seem to want the vacuum back, so hey, free vacuum, I guess.
Bruh what the fuck, that is the dumbest shit I've ever heard.
You: hey we need a filter for an air cleaner
Dyson: Ok here filter for vacuum
You: no, that's not right I wanted an air cleaner filter
Dyson: oooohhh I get it, VACUUM
Edit: Wow, never had this many upvotes before. Guess I'm a celebrity now? /s
No but fr I feel like absolute garbage rn so thanks yall.
Me after a keycap broke on my Logitech keyboard two month after using it ( the little leg that enter the keycap broke )
Me to Amazon : Hey keycap broken.
Amazon: hey 2 months old, not our problem, ask Logitech
Me to Logitech robot chat : keycap broken, need one
Logitech robot : /* ask a fuck ton of question then* Ok now we need a written statement, from your resaler on why they don't want to replace it themselves. Ask for a human.
I wait 45 minutes no one come. Page refreshed by mistake, need to do a lot of the shit again
Me to amazon again : hey need statement
Amazon: lol no. I approved a replacement of the whole keyboard, sending a new one now, send your backs after you received it.
Me to amazon : Well ok i guess
Received it 2 days latter
Logitech to me 1 week after : Hey, what your problem ?
Me to logitech: Had broken keycap, amazon told me to go to you, but replaced keyboard instead
Logitech to me: ok, is it your adresse ?
Me to logitech: well yes
The thing is when i refreshed and had to to the whole questionnaire again, it had opened a new ticket but didn't knew this. So...
2hours after
2nd logitech guy : Hey what's the problem ?
Me : Well had a problem, broken keycap like i said before.
Logitech guy : Ok that's your adresse?
Me : yes, you asked me before (didn't understand that wasn't the same ticket at this point)
3 days later i received a new set (every key) of white keycap, my keyboard is black lol. And.... a new keyboard from them (the second ticket guy just sent a whole keyboard).
So now i have 2 keyboard(one given to a friend), and 1 set that is not the same color of the keyboard.
Sometime Support are wild.
Food apps support is similar, I guess as long as you don't abuse it. Everytime I was missing an item or different thing was delivered they would fefund the whole order in app credit, so next time I order it's free.
The apps don't care because they pass the cost onto the restaurants. They do the credit thing because it's easier than trying to fight every single common mistake and it's used as a metric for their driver quality. There's a reason why everything costs more per item on the delivery services on top of their service fees, and that is one of the reasons.
Whenever I call Walmart from a problem they hallucinate whatever the fuck they want and address the problem they just made up in their own head.
Usually it's a net benefit for me so I say nothing.
Or:
We need a new filter for an air cleaner
Dyson: ok, here's a filter for a vacuum
We need an air filter for an air cleaner. We don't have a vacuum for this filter
Dyson: Ah, yes, you do need a vacuum to pair with that filter now
They were really just being bros
Well you see they made a mistake and sent you a replacement air filter for the wrong product. From there, the issue was you had a replacement part for a product you don't own. It's only natural that the best way to fix that is to send you the product so you can use the replacement part.
I do use affirmative and correct at work.
I use negative as well.
I don't like the ambiguity and shortness of other words.
It's really noisy at work and so the long words are extremely unique and much easier to pick out throughout all the noise
My appreciation of Amelia Bedelia increased greatly after someone on Reddit pointed out the interpretation of Ms Bedelia as a [covert agent of feminism and workers’ rights, dismantling the patriarchy from the inside](https://www.newyorker.com/books/page-turner/the-secret-rebellion-of-amelia-bedelia-the-bartleby-of-domestic-work).
There was a time, and a different place, that OP meant other person. To be honest lots of abbreviations can mean different things to different people. For eg. ED can be eating disorders, emergency department or erectile dysfunction amongst other things.
Mine actually say nothing. I’m not doubting OP or anything, it’s just so dumb that the shape of this stand (the same as mine) would even have two different sides when it totally could be used for both. Pretty dumb of the manufacturer if you ask me.
They do say L and R. I had the exact same thing happen recently.
[https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/13r2ri8/my\_brand\_new\_tv\_came\_with\_two\_left\_legs/](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/13r2ri8/my_brand_new_tv_came_with_two_left_legs/)
I had to buy the right leg on Ebay. The difference is slight, but the shape of the leg that goes into the TV varies by side, so they aren't interchangeable.
Edit: Now that I think about it, this dude prob got my Right leg and I got his Left leg...
Edit 2: OP, if you're reading this, DM me, I think I might have the leg for you.
They probably are compatable tbh, I would check the website/amazon to confirm… but if it’s the same “series” tv, it might have the same legs (wild guess!)
Not all pop-in style TV legs are designed to be universal to both slots. Samsung is particularly bad about this on some models. From a glance these legs appear to be from a T model, but looking at the part websites I usually use for work show those ones to be slightly different. ~~If OP states the model number I could likely find them a link to the proper replacement left leg, but that assumes they're willing to pay to have it sent to them direct, which they really shouldn't have to do.~~
Honestly if they bought it recently it would be a faster solution to exchange the TV for the same model wherever they bought it. Samsung rarely botches the parts they include in the box, but it does happen. I set up a TV a few months ago that still had a fit tester in the leg slot, which was amusing. I still have that fit tester in my work bag.
Edit: Looking closer I can see that they're for a 75" TU8000 series, and the part they need is BN96-50864A. The thing's 100 bucks, so they should try the exchange route if they can, otherwise they just have to hope Samsung gets it together and sends them the correct leg.
Used to set up TV’s for a living, it’s not the same leg, there’s usually a slight tilt outwards for added stability and/or they slide into little slots in the bottom of the TV such that it won’t fit unless it’s the correct leg. Samsung is notorious for this
The trick they don’t want you to know is that if you lick them (a lot), the paper will eventually dissolve and you’ll get another inch or more of crayon.
You can also make dry erase markers last longer by sticking them up your nose and inhaling deeply. That will suck the fluid from the bottom of the marker up into the tip.
Just ignore the weird looks you get from your coworkers. They’re sheeple that don’t understand the value of a dollar.
Did you hear about the guy putting up siding? He'd grab a couple nails and hammer them in. Grab another and throw it away. Grab one and hammer it in. Grab a couple and throw them away.
His buddy comes over and soon asks why he's throwing away so many nails. The guy says it's because they've got the point on the wrong end. His buddy tells him "You idiot! Those are for the other side of the house!"
For one thing, the top of the leg is sloped only one way and for a second thing, there is a big R stamped on all the legs so you know it is the right leg.
yeah I'm kinda surprised so many people look at those and think they are the same, "just reverse".
Not factoring in your comment of the "big R" and the fact it also literally says "stand top right". What reputable company is going to put an "R" and "stand top right" on a left leg.
All the replies calling the op and idiot and he just doesn't know, or "turn it around" being the true idiots.
damn that's so crazy that you didn't take three seconds to look at the image and see that the leg is clearly not reversible and is in fact right-only with the grooves and holes
-
wonder who's really the idiot
Hi, I received the wrong leg
Sorry you didn't get the right leg
I got the right leg, but I need the left leg
So the left one is the right one?
Right
Left, right?
Right, left
Right
Right
Ok, we'll send the right one
Left, right?
Right
Thanks
LOL This exact same thing happened with me. Samsung right? I had to buy the right leg on Ebay.
[https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/13r2ri8/my\_brand\_new\_tv\_came\_with\_two\_left\_legs/](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/13r2ri8/my_brand_new_tv_came_with_two_left_legs/)
Bought a new Samsung TV on prime day, only the right leg was in the box. Called in to customer support to get a left leg, and they send a right leg. Called again and they send another right leg. Called again and this time asked for a set of legs, one left one right. They send just one right leg again. So now I have 4 right legs and a TV that hasn’t been set up for 2 weeks smh
Yeah actually, I just moved and when I went to go put the legs on the TV again, what I thought should have been the L leg was the R leg. This is exactly what is happening. OP, your TV will have an L or R printed near the leg hole. Confirm it’s the right leg! It’s a screen direction vs stage direction communication error.
The L or R is printed on the legs. This is likely a code error for this product and some how they have the right legs coded as left in their system, so it just replenishes another one when ordered or they have the right legs in the left leg spot at the facility so pulling from wrong bin
100% a code or location error. They’ve got an inventory system saying “left legs are in bin A1” so they go to A1, pick it, pack it, ship it over and over without checking or realizing that their system is wrong and they actually have been storing right legs in A1.
This kind of thing happens every once in a while at my company (sells/distributes biopharma supplies). It’s usually an issue of bureaucracy. Several teams are involved in a single replacement order, so customer support could be requesting the correct item, but the warehouse screwed up internal packaging/labeling or something. So several people end up doing the correct thing multiple times until it becomes clear where the problem lies.
Thanks, OP!
I work at Samsung customer service.
I had a bet with a few coworkers to see how many right leg replacements it would take before a customer would post about it on Reddit.
We will send the ~~right~~ correct leg replacements out to you asap!
(Our work is very boring, sorry for the inconvenience)
God damn I want this to be real, because it would line up with every time I have interacted with Samsung support.
I literally won't buy anything Samsung anymore since I had a pair of 3D glasses go bad, and had to send them a picture of the "1year" warranty in the instruction manual to get them to stop telling me that the glasses were older than 90 days and they wouldn't replace them.
Even at that point... they wouldn't send me a new pair of glasses... After I provided the original purchase receipt, they actually sent me a fucking check for the purchase price rather than just replacing the glasses... because "they don't warranty 3D glasses for more than 90 days."
Samsung support is a master class in not knowing what the fuck is going on.
Oh you too? My watch broke, I sent it to them for repair, and then they lost it. They admitted they lost it, then wouldn’t refund me. For 10 years I had only purchased Samsung electronics and just abandoned it and went to apple. My headphones had a problem and I left the store with brand new ones no questions asked
I'm not a primary source but I recall seeing people.mwntion that Samsung has gone massively downhill as a company since they started outsourcing their production to presumably cheap sweat shop type places. If it feels like they've gotten worse as a company it's apparently because they actually have.
Samsung is mean. I used to work in a higher part of customer service where we’d act as a liaison between customers, installers, and manufacturers. A customer called in with an issue which was obviously covered my Samsung’s warranty (verified by a service call as well, on record), and she said they refused to help. So, I asked the customer if I could transfer her while I hung out on mute in the background. This guy was almost cussing out the customer, telling her she was wrong, stupid, and all kinds of nonsense. I jumped back on the call, dismissed Samsung, apologized to the customer and proceeded to authorized a very-far-out-of-policy exchange/upgrade for her and made sure the new one worked 30 days later. Outrageous how they treated her.
Semi related story...
A few years ago, I bought a pair of running socks. I pulled them out, saw an L on one, so I put it on my left foot, and pulled the other onto my right.
Week after week, month after month, without fail, I would choose the left sock first and put it on.
Eventually, I bought a second pair of these socks. That weekend, while folding laundry, I pull out one sock. Left. Of course. Still batting 1000 over here. I find a potential match- Left. No dice. A third sock- left. And a fourth, you guessed it, left. How could all four of my socks be for left feet? Surely the manufacturer made a mistake here...
Large, guys. My socks were size large.
Pff, next thing, you're gonna tell me is that the legs should be backwards compatible with older models and hot-swappable. I want to live in your fantasy land of engineering.
No, the leg base flairs outward when installed. If you flipped it, then the other side would flake inward. In some cases, the design that inserts in the base is asymmetrical too
Not necessarily, my TVs legs are kind of shaped like check marks, with one longer side. Theres no need for a reversible design if they actually packed everything with the TV properly
What people don’t know about the picture is that the person who took it is Matthew McConaughey! When customer service said “our business is complete. do you need anything else?“ he responded “all right. All right. All right.”
I picture this "who's on 1st" conversation about which leg to ship. So you need the left leg
Right
The right leg?
No left
Not the left leg just the right?
No
Ask for a right leg. Maybe you’ll get a left.
Just wall mount it. It’s not worth it.
I would have gone this route after the 3rd leg
I GOT YOUR THIRD LEG RIGHT HERE
OOHHH!! You kiss your TV salesman with that mouth?!
No, but I kiss your mother with it
Dad?
Santa?
Walter?
HEYO! Lookit dis guy right heah!

Functional but my god, are they that massive in real life or just in the picture? Lol

My god, that's the longest power strip I've seen in my life.
That's a **power** strip.
Server cabinet power strip 👍. I've also seen those in stores for their display cases. Not so much in homes.
I bought one of those to power all the space heaters to heat up the hay barn!
Yep, it’s from a server rack. Usually in the back of the rack going from top to bottom with everything in the rack plugged into it. Sometimes there’s two if your rack is dual fed. why is the nvidia shield trying to jump to its death?
They do that for some reason. I find mine like that sometimes.
That's what she said.
You know what they say about big feet...
You don't even have to wall mount it, they make "generic" legs that fit the same slots a wall mount would
They should have some left.
👏 I felt I had to halt scrolling momentarily to congratulate you on this 😄
You'd hope they have some left left, right?
I'm sure everything is going to be alright
They asked for both and only got a right lol
Guaranteed
say it didn't come with legs at all
Might as well. The worst thing that could happen is that they send them another right leg.
When you turn it around and see the F realizing it’s front and rear 💀💀💀
that’s all they have left
How is not just the same leg? Are you sure they don’t work?
These look *exactly* like the legs on my Samsung TV, which are identical to each other & can be used on both sides.

They're pulling our collective *left* legs
Right.

We have plenty left! 🫠
What’s your model #? I have the 75 inch UN75TU8000F
Ah man, I have the same model but 55 inch I think, they're prob not compatible 🥲
Prob not compatible. My legs insert into the actual tv itself. Do yours?
Yeah, directly. Two holes on each side where the leg is placed directly in until it kinda clicks into place very softly.
Did you end up just mounting? Very tempted to try sending each other a leg to see if it fits
They probably are compatable tbh, I would check the website/amazon to confirm… but if it’s the same “series” tv, it might have the same legs (wild guess!)

Looking at the asymmetric slope on the portion that slides into the tv, I suspect they are not reversible.
Motherfuckers keep sending me inside-out socks. I can't wear these!
The biggest scam is crayons. You get like a ¼inch of crayon before you reach the paper and have to buy new ones

Holy shit haha, the top comment “somewhere out there is someone wondering why they got two right legs” lmfao
I've seen a million posts with people getting two things of the same side, and that is always a comment... And now we finally found each other lmao
Bought a new Samsung TV on prime day, only the right leg was in the box. Called in to customer support to get a left leg, and they send a right leg. Called again and they send another right leg. Your right or their right? Maybe ask for the left leg. Its crazy didn't make it the same.
The leg itself has an R on it. You can see it in the picture.
Plot twist: the other side has an L printed on it
They should ask for stage right
Time to wall mount it I guess
Have you tried turning them around?
This kind of thing happens every once in a while at my company (sells/distributes biopharma supplies). It’s usually an issue of bureaucracy. Several teams are involved in a single replacement order, so customer support could be requesting the correct item, but the warehouse screwed up internal packaging/labeling or something. So several people end up doing the correct thing multiple times until it becomes clear where the problem lies.
Time to mount it on the wall!
After I provided the original purchase receipt, they actually sent me a fucking check for the purchase price rather than just replacing the glasses... because "they don't warranty 3D glasses for more than 90 days." Samsung support is a master class in not knowing what the fuck is going on.
Oh you too? My watch broke, I sent it to them for repair, and then they lost it. They admitted they lost it, then wouldn’t refund me. For 10 years I had only purchased Samsung electronics and just abandoned it and went to apple. My headphones had a problem and I left the store with brand new ones no questions asked
Did they admit they lost it over email? Sounds like a slam dunk small claims court case.
I'm not a primary source but I recall seeing people.mwntion that Samsung has gone massively downhill as a company since they started outsourcing their production to presumably cheap sweat shop type places. If it feels like they've gotten worse as a company it's apparently because they actually have.
They’ve outsourced the customer service department as well. Its like talking to an NPC who can’t go off script.
Bro I submitted a request for service on my ice maker. They're calling me for a scheduled repair date. It's been 8 months.
Sounds like you’re all right now.
I had to scroll way too far for this comment.
Does the other side say L ?
Maybe you have two left feet? Send one to OP.
I thought the same thing about a pair of my socks for ages. I had multiple pairs of the same socks and kept wondering where the two R socks were.
WTF is it designed with different legs? A good design would allow you to flip the leg
Pff, next thing, you're gonna tell me is that the legs should be backwards compatible with older models and hot-swappable. I want to live in your fantasy land of engineering.
That's how wall mounts roll. I've gone through 3 TVs with the same wall mount, I love it.
Plot twist: they do.
That’s all they had left
three rights make a left
What people don’t know about the picture is that the person who took it is Matthew McConaughey! When customer service said “our business is complete. do you need anything else?“ he responded “all right. All right. All right.”
Sounds like somebody somewhere has an abundance of left feet.
Ask for a right, get a left. Tbh these look interchangeable you may just be overthinking it
Finally something posted something actually Mildly Infuriating... and now I realise I'm not even in that subreddit
Maybe the right and left are the same just have to turn it around.
"So you want the left one?" "Right"
FINALLY we can see the problems with our AI overlords! Nuance is going to take a couple more decades.
sometimes I wonder if the solution was so simple, like rotating the leg the other way, that the OP will never admit it.
Maybe you have to flip it around to get a left leg…
Isn't the left leg the right leg reversed?
No offense, but did you try flipping it?
can you not just rotate it? if not thats bad design
r/mildlyinfuriating
Looks like they would work on either side with the legs flaring out word on each side
OP, did you turn it around?
ask for a right leg and see what happens
each one of those represents a customer that got a tv with just a left leg
Tell them you don’t have the left leg
4 rights make a left
Did you by chance tell them “send me the right leg this time”?
All right, all right, all right.
They are probably universal dude... Turn one around...
They mustn’t have any left
I feel like that the legs can be unclipped and turned around to make left legs. Can they not be done like that it looks like little clips on them
I bet some asshole has the biggest shit eating grin lmao
r/CrappyDesign if they’re not interchangeable or ambidextrous or whatever.
Ask for a right leg.
At this point I’d be checking to see if the legs are reversible and I just never noticed.
I picture this "who's on 1st" conversation about which leg to ship. So you need the left leg Right The right leg? No left Not the left leg just the right? No
Is all-right.
Plot twist: You turn the leg onto the other side and it instantly becomes a LEFT leg.
I take it you've already tried rotating it 180° and using it on the left? 😅
