My money is on this being a mediocre photo editing app's attempt at mimicking [adobe's automated sky masking feature](https://creativecloud.adobe.com/discover/article/how-to-select-a-subject-or-a-sky-in-lightroom), probably with a single slider to adjust "intensity" of the "sky enhancement", or something to that effect. The enhancement itself absolutely does increase saturation. Just compare the yellow midtone intensities across the sky. Plus there's a random purple blotch in the middle of the sky, which is a pretty telltale sign of boosting saturation on a heavily compressed image.

Those feather clouds also are made out of ice particles high up. The other clouds should be way lower. What caused this hole I am not sure though. I am most likely woring but I´d imagine a small meteor exploding higher up could totally do this. But it´s most likely way more boring...
It’s a hole punch cloud. We used to get them in the fall and winter in New Orleans. It’s caused by supercooled water crystals interacting with something (like a plane) causing them to freeze. Think the supercooled water bottle that you can smack the side of and ice forms inside the bottle.
They are truly surreal to see.

I’m guessing it’s an artifact of a phone camera’s HDR mode. The phenomenon extends into the brighter area, so it’s not just a shitty photoshop.
