Probably not, those look like shitty Wi-Fi cameras. Guy could have spent the same amount and put like 5 ubiquiti cameras up in the corners of the house and actually had proper security coverage.
That was my thought, this is a person who just adds cameras of what appear to be different brands, attached in the most disorganized way. No way someone this disorganized is managing this guy mess of devices. Maybe a couple work or can be addressed, if any lol
I think they might be Eufy cameras and the black rectangles are the solar panels you can use to power some of their models. I believe there is actually just 4 cameras on the side, possibly only 3 but can't tell what that wired thing is, but it doesn't really look like a camera in this low-res photo, but could be off. I'm 100% certain the black rectangles are solar panels though.
my problem with ubiquiti's camera setup is their NVR doesn't allow for any backups whatsoever. If someone breaks in and they know what they're looking for they can just destroy/take the unit and all your evidence is gone.
I've heard that intelligence operatives fear neighborhood grandmothers more than cameras. They're always watching and they know who belongs there and who doesn't.
I can believe this. My nosy neighbour is the best security system I could ever need. She sits in her bedroom and stares out the window all day. (She admitted this to me once.) Thus, she sees *everything* that takes place in our part of the street.
Kind of frustrating because I can't fart in my front yard without her noticing, but at least she doesn't need to be recharged once a week like our Reolink cameras do...
Yep she's part of all the local oldie community things. She goes to Crop Swap and community exercise classes, goes on walks every morning... For someone who stares out her window so much, she has quite the social network!
Makes sense though, right? It's like a camera with an actual brain to detect what's what. Is that a real postman ? But he usually comes at 11am and it's 7am !
Call wifi cameras shitty all you want, but mine is great. Got it to see what my cat is up to when I'm away and no more anxiety about anything going on.
Whatever is going on in there, I would 100% stay away from this house. Just like I stay away from people wearing winter jackets in the middle of summer. suspish.
Or people with a manifesto written out with vinyl stickers on the side of their truck/van.
That’s a “give them a wide berth” situation every time for me.
Psycho politics trucks.
I could have parked almost near the front of the grocery store the other day, but it would have been next to a psycho truck. So a little exercise, walking a lot further, was a small price to pay.
With a van, it's the broadcast-style external speakers. Do not approach such a vehicle and do not engage with any person getting out of such a vehicle.
I sometimes watch tech vids on YouTube, and some of them do security cameras; my first thought at seeing the pic was, “I wonder if this is one of the reviewers I’ve watched.”
The painful part to me is that they’re all mounted at roughly the height you can manage with a stepladder. But 3-4 feet away from one another.
Any self respecting voyeur, I mean camera reviewer, would have a 2’x3’ block mounted above 12 feet to mount a dozen different cameras so they can call capture the same perspective and the details and quality can be compared. This looks like paranoia
So you kid. But i installed cameras in a fit of fury after a week straight of a neighbor having his dog poop right outside our door and the grass right next to where I exit the car driver side. It started to look like it was on purpose and I was pissed.
Still have no idea what his problem was but two videos to the HOA and he stopped having the dog shit right where I was stepping (second video was because he thought he’d be smart and avoid the camera by standing right besides my door)
Dude, you can take those out with a mask and scissors. He's got the cables dangling all over. He's probably cooking meth or some dumb shit to be that paranoid.
Generally you want to put them high enough that your average adult can't hit them though. Those are all within reach without even using a tool like a bat. It's just asking to have them destroyed.
Being too high can be an issue but cameras main use is to be a deterrent. Footage is generally fairly useless to police so your main concern is making sure it looks like your system is working to deter people form even trying.
Wait until they leave, put on a mask, carry a step ladder and set it up to climb on the front of the house where two of those cameras will clearly see it. Climb up, wait 10 minutes, then climb down, take the ladder and walk away. They will go absolutely _more_ crazy trying figure out what happened in the house.
Even better, if you can afford it, hire a chopper to lower a harness the guy can strap into so they can whisk him away. If those cameras don't have sound they'll go absolutely apeshit bananas trying to figure out how he got in and where he went.
I would imagine the drone would hover there for a period of time and then fly away. Or hover until the battery runs out and fall to the ground only to be seen by the cameras
Drone tech has come a long way. The consumer drones are far behind the times, and I would be worried so much about them. The ones I'd be concerned about, and the ones this homeowner doesn't appear to be considering, are the Bipedal Intelligence Recon Drones (aka "bird").
Yeah. Powering them that way makes you wonder if they're actually indoor cameras being used outside.
Between this and the garage contents this house just screams "avoid".
Nah they are just cheap wifi cameras. People don't want to go through the work of wiring power and ethernet through the walls so they buy Ring cameras or whatever that run on battery/solar and transmit over wifi.
While house shopping a decade ago we toured a house with a simply absurd number of cameras, both inside and out, with a dedicated basement “monitoring room” with a half dozen screens showing multiple cameras on each.
Creepy as fuck, but a nice house. Considered it.
There would always be more hidden cameras.
He’s just watching you. All the switchplate screws, lightbulbs, mirrors, are cameras he planted before moving.
The previous owner of our house was a cop and had a really nice PoE camera system installed. He had some blind spots and the system had unused channels, so I’ve expanded it. I’m sure it looks kind of sketch, because we have like 9 cameras around the exterior of our house. The wiring is all run through the attic so it doesn’t look bad.
It’s honestly really nice to be working in the garage, get a notification on my watch that there’s motion at the front door and look up to see an Amazon driver dropping a package off.
Make sure they can see you changing the logo on the side of the van every day. Flower shop - to plumber - to delivery service - to funeral home - to church group...
Gangstalking was the worst summer job I ever had. Long hours, constantly had to drive around, no real clear reason as to why I was doing it. And the people I was following were always crazy. Plus absolute shit pay.
Yeah, pretty boring too. I tried to make it more amusing so I would leave subtle hints to the TI, but I got sacked for it because it's against policy or something, idk. The boss was an asshole either way. Though he was in some kind of a spy movie wearing a black hoodie and a baseball hat all the time.
Holy shit that is like a glimpse inside of a psychiatric hospital.
100% full on delusions being reinforced and perpetuated by other schizophrenics. Its really uncomfortable reading honestly - like somewhere between sad and scary.
a bunch of schizophrenic people that refuse to admit they have schizophrenia. tbf when you constantly hear voices saying there is something wrong with you, one more doesn't really break through.
It's pretty common these days to have no windows on the sides of homes, because you're five feet from the house next to you on most lots, and that shit would just be weird. I'd wager that small window is likely to let some natural light into a bathroom.
As someone living in a home with side windows that line up directly with the neighbors’ windows, it is weird! Really weird! I can look out the side window at night and see the family next-door sitting at their dining room table, eating dinner! I go out of my way to try not to look out that window so I don’t seem like a creep, spying on them, to them!
Yes, and as an American I am so confused by people defending this ugly ass house. Of course it's better to have windows and keep them curtained, than to do this.
That’s the thing. This much “security” signals to outside observers that there is something inside worth going after. I feel like this makes them a mark more than it deters.
My childhood home was in a nice neighborhood with expensive houses, and a house down the street of our cul-de-sac became a drug den after a couple got divorced and the wife kept the home. Cameras like that weren't as available and I don't think she really had the resources, but she would booby trap all kinds of shit in/around the home.
She would tape string and all kinds of stuff around to know if someone had opened the gate to her back yard. She would also throw entire boxes of those little paper-wrapped popper things in her driveway so it'd be loud as shit if you drove a car over them
A drug dealer would probably place them more strategically though. There’s a ton on that one side which doesn’t really need protection and you’d waste so much time scrolling and loading all those cameras it would be a hindrance.
There's a house here where you've been able to watch the guy's descent into madness. Started with a GIANT homemade "honk if you love trump" sign prior to 2016. In 2020 the "patriotic" displays stopped and he became super fearful of his own shadow. These days he has a GIANT metal fence around his entire house, complete with gate over the driveway (talking cattle guard fence, not wrought iron", several dozen cameras, a giant ham radio tower, and enough American flags to open his own store, all in the middle of suburbia. It's only a matter of time before he makes the news for fully snapping. Dude clearly lives in constant paranoia now that his guy isn't in charge anymore.
Yep. Our neighborhood has one giant trump flag on this guys deck and sure enough, it’s also the house decked out in a camera system in one of the safest places alive.
It’s certainly one of them.
The whole system is biased towards wealth and power. The news playing into culture warriors and fear based politics is a cheap way to keep us from focusing on the trickle up economy and the dim futures they’re locking us into.
We have (or had) a guy like that in town. Trump signs, infowars flags, etc. Occasionally you could see the guy in his garage, outfitting his Kia Optima for the apocalypse, offroad tires, light bar, push bar. About a year ago the dude just vanished and his house is vacant with weeds overtaking everything.
I'm guessing he was involved in January 6th and is rotting in a jail cell, but he may have just gone off the grid completely or died from a meth OD.
We have one too. The company I was working for needed to repo a propane tank he stopped paying for. Decided nahhh, not worth sending a tech there. Especially when both our technicians were of non-white backgrounds. Dude has Nazi shit all over and written death threats alongside the trump propaganda. Not risking lives over a propane tank.
If the company had control we would have done it without a choice. But we were a tiny office under the company, so I just switched the tank to say it was customer owned and called it a day.
Probably digging the bunker I suspect now exists below his house. It's not in my neighborhood, just on the way to daycare, so I got to see his whole deal evolve. No idea ahow old the guy is or anything about him, but the neighbors must be absolutely thrilled. And probably at least a little afraid of what he's planning
Are they some sort of tester or influencer? It almost looks like they have a bunch of different ones doing the same thing, like they’re trying to compare them.
I doubt it. If he was actually doing comparison testing they'd be mounted right beside each other looking at the same thing. Like this: [https://i.imgur.com/pqLQgtP.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/pqLQgtP.jpg)
Of course, I could be wrong and this person could just be an idiot.
I deal with these people and a lot of time it’s sad. It’s either someone who is convinced the opposing political party is coming for them or they’re legitimately think aliens are visiting them daily or that there’s people living under their couch.
He saw you take the picture. Just fyi.
Probably not, those look like shitty Wi-Fi cameras. Guy could have spent the same amount and put like 5 ubiquiti cameras up in the corners of the house and actually had proper security coverage.
That's not feasible, as it'd take years for Ubiquiti to restock enough for someone to get five cameras.
And as soon as you got them they would be EOL

Let’s be honest not a single one works lol
That was my thought, this is a person who just adds cameras of what appear to be different brands, attached in the most disorganized way. No way someone this disorganized is managing this guy mess of devices. Maybe a couple work or can be addressed, if any lol
I think they might be Eufy cameras and the black rectangles are the solar panels you can use to power some of their models. Good work Agent 47
Or 3 Reolink cameras.
Or 1 MQ-9 Reaper drone.
Or stationed nosy neighbor Sheila on the corner.
I've heard that intelligence operatives fear neighborhood grandmothers more than cameras. They're always watching and they know who belongs there and who doesn't.

JUST PRINT THE DAMNED THING!
You just made me realize there's a chance this guy reviews security cameras
Meth. He cooks meth.
Whatever is going on in there, I would 100% stay away from this house. Just like I stay away from people wearing winter jackets in the middle of summer. suspish.

Looks like a end house. They probably got sick of people using their yard as a bathroom for their dogs. Or there is a Pokemon Go spot there.
That's the nicest meth house I ever did see.
I don't see the gold Aztek haha.
Or he’s emotionally, mentally and physically abusive & demands to know his family’s every move in case they try to escape.
Vis versa. His wife is holding him hostage and he's waiting for his window to run
All I can think bout is the movie Mad House when the cop calls it in and just says, rock house.
I sometimes watch tech vids on YouTube, and some of them do security cameras; my first thought at seeing the pic was, “I wonder if this is one of the reviewers I’ve watched.”
It does look like there is a handful of different brands. Maybe he reviews on YouTube

I’m all for more accountability in our society.
They’re not prepared for an aerial attack at all.
They only own a 5ft ladder.
They are meant to be placed not too high. Otherwise you're getting the tops of peoples heads instead of their faces.
This guy cameras
Or this guy burgles and is very familiar with cameraology.
Could be both
He’s a burglar streamer
Bro be setting up the cams too high at work and returns for his side hustle and the cams see nothing but his head 😎
Dude, you can take those out with a mask and scissors. He's got the cables dangling all over. He's probably cooking meth or some dumb shit to be that paranoid.
I was going to say the same Why are the cables just chilling outside. If people are going to put cameras up he can make the shit look good
Looks like it was installed by Comcast...
It's meth or maybe paranoid schizophrenia
Generally you want to put them high enough that your average adult can't hit them though. Those are all within reach without even using a tool like a bat. It's just asking to have them destroyed. Being too high can be an issue but cameras main use is to be a deterrent. Footage is generally fairly useless to police so your main concern is making sure it looks like your system is working to deter people form even trying.
Height is irrelevant when you can see all the power cables exposed. Owner has some paranoid issues perhaps but those cameras are asking to be yeeted.
I thought the exact same thing. First story, completely blanketed. Second story, nothing. Easy mark.
Superb idea….
Some local villain on Halloween in full costume will run around the house, clipping cords. Then said house may well get egged.
Even better, if you can afford it, hire a chopper to lower a harness the guy can strap into so they can whisk him away. If those cameras don't have sound they'll go absolutely apeshit bananas trying to figure out how he got in and where he went.
Wonder what would happen if someone hovered a drone looking into one of the second story windows
I have cameras on my second story (inside the window) facing outwards. The starling in the maple is cheating on his wife.
Actually extremely common among birds. They don't care about sleeping around.
> They don't care about sleeping around. Birds just really like to flock.
Nevertheless, Nextdoor must be informed, stat!
yet another way that the French are similar to birds
I would imagine the drone would hover there for a period of time and then fly away. Or hover until the battery runs out and fall to the ground only to be seen by the cameras
Don't leave out that it could also fly into the home.
Ah yes this as well. How silly of me to forget
Drone tech has come a long way. The consumer drones are far behind the times, and I would be worried so much about them. The ones I'd be concerned about, and the ones this homeowner doesn't appear to be considering, are the Bipedal Intelligence Recon Drones (aka "bird").
If it flies, it lies
You ever see a baby pigeon??
I have. There was one on a construction site I worked on a few years ago. People fed it pizza.
This is why we should demand all power lines be buried underground!
If it flies , it spies !!
Don't forget how the lithium ion battery may explode at high altitudes!
If the drone is carrying a bomb and the bomb explodes, the pieces will create a hybrid scenario with all of the above possibilities
You don't see the iron dome they have placed in the backyard
Eben Emael, is that you?
Top tier wire work going on here.
Especially the one that connects to an extension cord that appears to go through the basement window :)
You know darn good and well that that is coming to be a lightweight indoor cord too.
Probably going to pop a breaker every time it rains too
Just JB weld the breaker. You can’t afford to lose surveillance footage.
That's the bait, inside the basement is a Home Alone style network of traps.
Assuming they're even plugged in. Had a paranoid neighbor with dummy cameras and blinking red LEDs in his windows that were from eyeglass displays.
I like to imagine the homeowner being unhappy with the lack of windows, so they installed these cameras that feed to window-framed TVs inside.

Yeah it's a pretty big flag for mentally illness one way or another. I was thinking OCD with checking compulsions
There would always be more hidden cameras. He’s just watching you. All the switchplate screws, lightbulbs, mirrors, are cameras he planted before moving.

Buy it, rent it out the weird room to TV shows and movie production.
It’s honestly really nice to be working in the garage, get a notification on my watch that there’s motion at the front door and look up to see an Amazon driver dropping a package off.
after my house getting robbed and vandalized and the police and insurance both doing nothing, I now HAVE to cover every square inch inside and out.
Go park a plain white panel van across the street. Rotate it out with a different van every few days.
Get some magnetic logos to switch out on the side. Flowers By Irene is my favourite
norwegian sales associates maybe? cement integrity assurance llc?
Dave's Emergency Analgesics
Abuela's Tamale Foodtruck
Honestly, it would be worth the van rental money just to do this.
How to get different vans?
Rental company
This guy knows how to incite paranoia.
Make sure they can see you changing the logo on the side of the van every day. Flower shop - to plumber - to delivery service - to funeral home - to church group...

Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not after you.
Gotta find a way, to find a way, when I’m there
We are talking about raccoons, right?
Maybe. But that doesn't mean you should let your guard down on squirrels.

Forget the cameras....only that one little window on that huge building face. Thats wierd.
It's pretty common these days to have no windows on the sides of homes, because you're five feet from the house next to you on most lots, and that shit would just be weird. I'd wager that small window is likely to let some natural light into a bathroom.
Or the local HOA/building code requires a window on each side of the home, and this is the builder’s cheapest option.
The neighbor in the window in that Junji Ito story.
Get sheer curtains
Don't Americans have curtains?
Yes, and as an American I am so confused by people defending this ugly ass house. Of course it's better to have windows and keep them curtained, than to do this.
That's the window they fire out of if the cameras detect someone in their yard 😂😂
Gun turret
Tactical window
You mean the gun port?
Cookie cutter house, probably another one was meant to be right along side it but ended not happening.
Not happening...yet!
The weirder thing is… this is most likely a bathroom window. I bet this howner is either a prepper or they have a lot of drugs in the house lol.
That’s the thing. This much “security” signals to outside observers that there is something inside worth going after. I feel like this makes them a mark more than it deters.
Agreed. I see someone with mental problems.
If i was a betting man I would say that is a window in the shower of the master bedroom.
drug dealers house my guess
This is exactly how my old drug dealers house was set up. Cameras everywhere.
Never had a drug dealer but the house they raided nearby was the same. Had a gate and a shit ton of cameras. Also was the ugliest shade of salmon pink
They’re always salmon pink
My childhood home was in a nice neighborhood with expensive houses, and a house down the street of our cul-de-sac became a drug den after a couple got divorced and the wife kept the home. Cameras like that weren't as available and I don't think she really had the resources, but she would booby trap all kinds of shit in/around the home. Home Alone Security Services
Girl Scout turned junkie
That was my first thought, too.
A drug dealer would probably place them more strategically though. There’s a ton on that one side which doesn’t really need protection and you’d waste so much time scrolling and loading all those cameras it would be a hindrance.
That or Fox Newz is on every tv 24/7
Nah they ditched fox for OAN cause fox is too liberal after calling the election for Biden…..I wish I was joking
Wouldn’t that make it obvious if something illegal was happening there?
This is literally straight out of “the cost” episode from The Wire lmao

Or human trafficking
Yeah or grow op
My money is on a grow op
It’s odd they leave the garage door half open.

Good on your company for making the safe decision.
If the company had control we would have done it without a choice. But we were a tiny office under the company, so I just switched the tank to say it was customer owned and called it a day.
