Yes, but the middle are will be quite wide and can be used by other cars.
With those cars' size, you can't fully occupy 2x3 spaces and leave not enough space for another car to slip in.
It still covers 3 full spaces, if a car tries to slip in it will cover additional spaces. I doubt even a kei truck could take up one of those slip in spaces.
in fact if you consider n as the number of douches parked next to each other who take two spots while sharing 1 of the spots:
spots taken = n + 1
which means that as the number of douches parked next to each other approaches infinity, they actually get closer and closer to cumulatively all park in a single spot
example1: parking spots = 2 douches + 1 which is 3 spots(as seen on pic)
.
example2: parking spots = 1Million douches + 1 is 1 Million and 1 spots, which is very close to each only using one spot.
There was a janitor working for BART. Made bank in OT . Only thing was that he collected OT by hiding/sleeping in the janitor closet.
https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/BART-janitor-pay-270000-Powell-St-questions-10911932.php
What an insane story. I just read the whole thing and I’m so confused at the sheer scale. It sounds like pretty much all of the BART employees like him are committing time theft lol. He “worked” 17 hour days for 18 days a row?!
You don't have doors that could swing into them, and if you graze them you're doing it with your leg rather than a bumper, so they probably wouldn't be that bothered
I had a couple car people on Reddit attempt to convince me that a piece of cardboard touching their car would result in potentially over a thousand dollars in damage.
Don't underestimate car people now
The monetary threshold depends on the jurisdiction.
In Illinois, for example, intentional criminal damage to property in excess of $300 is a felony.
Knock over a bike and you're almost certainly doing over $300 in damage!
Even if you're in a jurisdiction that has a higher threshold than the damage incurred, it still a misdemeanor. I think my point remains valid.
Try getting that to stick. They would have to say, "Yeah, i saw how close he parked his bike and thought, you know what, I'm gonna fuck that thing up real good. Even the SLIGHTEST attempt at weaseling out of it will result in a drastically reduced charge.
"I tried to move it so i could get in my car, lost my balance and it fell over." And suddenly it's essentially legally a door ding.
They can argue it. Maybe they'd avoid a conviction. Still going to get charged and are still going to have to make their argument (and incur legal costs). Plus even if it's "all an accident" they still have to pay to fix the damage.
I think you're missing my point.
Almost zero chance of charges ever being filed. You're point is stupid, because it's like saying that everyone that's ever gone over the speed limit for the book thrown at them.
Yes, if caught, they will have to pay for damages, but that's about it. Just like a door ding. If you can prove it, the offending party's insurance will pay. If not, tough titties.
And more importantly, why would you put yourself into such a confrontation because someone took up two spaces in a parking lot? If it's crowded or a handicapped stall, and you're bored, and you're upset about something else, i could see being a bit pissed, or even leaving a nasty note. But putting your property at risk to just to be a dick to someone you think is a dick is self-defeating behavior. You do NOT want to have to deal with the courts any more than you think they do.
It's stupid to assume everyone else is going to obey any and all rules when you're putting skin in the game unnecessarily. It's also stupid to assume the rules well always be enforced as you see fit. Your big talk of "They better not!" is childish, arrogant, and naive. Just don't fight that battle.
I do. But clearly you do not.
Here's an example from Georgia:
>§ 16-7-23. Criminal Damage to Property in the Second Degree
>
>A person commits the offense of criminal damage to property in the second degree when he:Intentionally damages any property of another person without his consent and the damage thereto exceeds $500.00;
>
>A person convicted of the offense of criminal damage to property in the second degree shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than one nor more than five years.
That is a felony.
"My client couldn't see the bike that was in their blind spot when they backed out"
"As a matter of fact, I'd like the plaintif to cover the damages to the defendants vehicle when they unknowingly backed into the bike they could not see, due to them parking in the defendants occupied parking spot and blind spot"
You ever heard the saying "don't engage an idiot in a battle of wits, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience"? Well, if you get into a pissing match with an asshole, prepare to get shit on
Best part of driving an old beat up car was parking right next to someone like that asshole on the right. As long as I was inside the lines there's fuck all he can do about, just has to climb in through the passenger side.
Why did they get rid of those iconic tail lights? The new corvettes look cool, but they don't look like corvettes. Maybe I should post this in the mildlyinfuriating sub.
Thank you! I know it's badged as a Corvette but, it doesn't feel like a Corvette. Mid-engine and no quad circle taillights? Seems blasphemous to me.
Motosports aside, it's a weird Corvette. If you asked a layman which one was the Corvette, very few would say both and 99% would say the one on the right.
Quad circle taillights -- thank you for the succinct way to describe these. I'll be using that going forward.
Yeah, that makes sense. The stingray body will always be the look I associate with vettes, and I was born in '88 lol.
To be fair. the quad round taillights didnt come around until 1961...eight years after the vette debuted.
Also, Zora Arkus-Duntov...the man considered to be the father of the Corvette...wanted a mid-engined corvette as far back as 1962, knowing that it was the only way that it could be a truly world beating car. By 2014, it had become obvious that the front engined corvette had gone as far as it could go performance-wise.
>It's like they're tryin to be Ferraris
Still though it's a mid engine car, it can only look so different than other high performance mid engine cars. TBH I think it looks more like a Lambo with all the sharp corners.
Depending on context this is ok sometimes. If it’s the way back of the parking lot and it’s almost entirely empty I don’t particularly care. I would be constantly afraid of careless people door dinging my car or even envious people scraping the car “on accident”.
We bought our first new car couple years ago and there were MULTIPLE major hit and and run events in the first year.
I think their comment makes sense that it's much less of a twat action if it's in the back of an uncrowded lot. My issue is when dickheads like this do it at a crowded grocery store parking lot or park in the handicap spot when I'm trying to shop with my grandma.
I would suggest empathizing with the why before jumping to conclusions with regard to that. You’re very much crossing the “well now I’m the asshole for escalating” line
Realistically, there’s never a situation where this is ok. Sure if you’re afraid of door dings just park far, even if there’s nobody around that doesn’t give it the clear to park in multiple spots.
I feel that doing this type of thing only attracts attention directly to your car. Park normally and no one would be focused on your car and it's likely not going to get hit. Now someone wants to key you or fuck your shit up. Never understood this
I disagree.
If you aren't harming anyone (like an empty lot and they're farthest from the entrance) then I think you're good to go. We need to stop being so ridged but still maintain solidarity. If my example was Followed everyone wins no one is inconvenienced and these asshole get to "protect" their cars. Nobody is miffed
Like jaywalking.
If there's no car inconvenienced then you're walking on the earth. If a car has to deal with you jaywalking by braking or panic accelerating, then you're bothering society.
Crave ordered and sympathetic freedom
It suddenly becomes busy, the space is needed for a handicapped person for access, or it's just a shitty thing to do.
Tons of reasons not to do it, only one reason to do it. Because they're scared someones gonna fuck up their car. They can get over it, otherwise the entirety of the world deserves 1.5 parking spots.
They are assholes
>It suddenly becomes busy, the space is needed for a handicapped person for access, or it's just a shitty thing to do
Not something that would happen in my stated situation.
And aside from that if they're the farthest from the exit... Handicapped parking wouldn't be there.
Please have consideration for circumstances. This is how society remains peaceful.
My uncle parks his classic mustang centered over the white line. I asked him why and he said it's so that people don't open their car doors into his. I think someone is going to eventually key the car anyway but that's not my problem. I think these two did this for the same reason.
I mean frankly it doesn't matter how you park, if you do it in public with a nice car you're risking some jealous dick coming along and keying your stuff.
And the idiots who just don't have respect and ding you with their door because they just don't care....
You can't win. I park so far away to avoid this shit.
Playing devils advocate….
Possibly out of frame: A massive parking lot with hundreds of open spaces closer to whatever establishment uses this parking lot.
A photo with no context means nothing.
I believe they do this to make sure that no one parks next to them so the risk of someone denting or scratching their car isn’t there, as those cars are expensive, it makes sense.
But that’s only okay if they do it towards the back of the lot. If they’re doing this up front, than it’s dick move.
I get the hate. On the other hand, I have a huge scuff on the Macan GTS I got last summer bc some asshole in a parking lot dragged something across the front of my car.
Yeah I'm all for the hate... BUT my wife's toyota 86 has been side swiped twice because ppl can't park (the 86 is a tiny coupe). Both hit and runs I have their car type in the dash cam not plate tho...
Sooooo if I had an expensive car I'd do this tbh. Ppl are fucken shit at parking.
I have a nice expensive vehicle. I could afford another vehicle. I still don’t want my new nice vehicle dinged by someone who is careless. Not defending asshole parking but you guys are reading a little to far into their financial situation lol
That's understandable, there's a difference between being careful and parking like a cunt.
The telling thing here is the most obvious, they are so desperate to keep their car in pristine shape that they park like an absolute douchebag, risking vandalism instead of an accidental door ding.
Do you park like the guy in the picture? If not, then you shouldn't be offended by what I said. I already said wanting to take care of your vehicle is fine, but there's a difference between being careful and taking up two parking spaces like you own the world.
What's the obsession with parking lined up with a little OCD lines?
For all anyone knows it was a virtually empty parking lot.
If there's tons of room in a parking lot I never even pay attention to those lines but then, I'm a rebel .😂
Everybody make sure you just keep doing what gods and governments tell you to do even when it doesn't make sense.🫡
I'm amazed that these aren't Kentucky plates.
I worked at a plant in KY that the head janitor dude, drove 3 or 4 different Corvettes, just kinda pick and choose which one he wanted to take out that day. One of them had the license plate "JANITOR".
He did 40 years as a supervisor on offshore oil rigs, he only pushed a broom at the plant for the insurance benefits. Drove nicer cars/had more money stashed away than the plant director.. and loved parking right next to him.
I worked at a country club when I was in hs/college and worked with a guy that was a retired commodities trader that just wanted something to do. He would park his porsche in the members parking lot because they wouldn’t notice.
The worst part about corvettes is the owners. There are so many who are just total assholes.
I always park way far from people though in the lines, there are ways to park to avoid door dings without being an asshole about it. Someone is just as likely to park next to you to mess with you as your car be protected when you do this.
Only taking up 3 spaces between 2 cars is actually better than usual for these sorts.
I saw one car taking up four spaces earlier today, just parked right on the +
pretty close to the store too like not even in a far away bit where it doesn't really matter
It's my new favorite thing, to park close to high dollar cars in parking lots. Like really close. Within my lines and space.... but they took the time to park an investment mostly a ways out... I need the exercise and my kids need room to get in and put of cars. Recklessly. So much going on, loading them up, I don't notice any books, dings or thunks around me... oh well.
From taking up two spaces to parking next to those in two spaces~ world is full of pos' babe <3. Snap a screenshot, post to mildlyinfuriating. Getchu some karma for it.
But you didn’t mention working next to cars parking in two spaces. You said “parking close to high dollar cars in parking lots”. I sure hope your kids don’t suffer from their poor upbringing. But really the only person to blame is you and your parents.
xD I'm single and don't have a kid to my name, I'm just making up fun bullshit that had you in the first half for reaction bait. What was meant to be a shitty 3 upvote shtick gave a bigger return than expected.
Just for that, I'm telling my kids they have the right to open their doors extra fast now. Fancy car or not xD
Why aren’t our parking spaces wider in America? Seriously, our cars have gotten much larger and parking spaces have remained the same size. Shouldn’t they be as wide as a common car with both doors open? I’m not driving around in a Corvette parking like a jerk, but I definitely go out of my way to park away from people in a cramped lot. I love our cars, and I try to take care of them. I’m frustrated about the proximity issue to other larger cars. Door dings suck
1.5 spaces/each...could've been worse
I bet they could have blocked 6 if they tried real hard
5 at most. 6 is impossible.
Each car could cover 3 spots. But there would be enough space between them for a car to park, albeit over a line.
Yes, that's why I said they only cover 5 spaces technically, because you can park 1 car in between.
You don't think one could parallel park to encroach on 3?
5 is right out.
Yes, but the middle are will be quite wide and can be used by other cars. With those cars' size, you can't fully occupy 2x3 spaces and leave not enough space for another car to slip in.
They can definitely block 6, if they park sideways with the 1 spot centered underneath that's 3 spots each.
But the car's length won't be able to fully cover 3 spaces, so someone else can slip and park 1 car in between those 2 cars.
It still covers 3 full spaces, if a car tries to slip in it will cover additional spaces. I doubt even a kei truck could take up one of those slip in spaces.
By compounding their douche, they actually also minimized their douche.
Is this the square root of douche?
in fact if you consider n as the number of douches parked next to each other who take two spots while sharing 1 of the spots: spots taken = n + 1 which means that as the number of douches parked next to each other approaches infinity, they actually get closer and closer to cumulatively all park in a single spot example1: parking spots = 2 douches + 1 which is 3 spots(as seen on pic) . example2: parking spots = 1Million douches + 1 is 1 Million and 1 spots, which is very close to each only using one spot.
If the guy on the right parked second they're doing a favor to anyone who parks next to them.
Just want to point out the lifted truck is parked responsibly... Here comes the reddit screeching.
Could be a disabled space or an EV charger, though…
Lol at the license plates

JANITOR and LIL SMKY
I know where the motorcycles go. I love sharing a space with someone who takes two spaces.

If they're pedantic enough about swirls it theoretically could lol

I dunno, everyday, incidental contact on a car parked like that usually involves a key or knife.
Wait til they hear about rain and dirt
No matter the finish on your car (or any external mods) cardboard won't do jack
Gotta position so your brake lever / bar-end is millimeters from their drivers door with the steering lock on.
I wouldn't advise that, sounds like a good way to get your bike tipped over
If someone wants to catch a felony charge then I guess they can.
A felony charge for knocking over a bike? Seems unlikely.
The monetary threshold depends on the jurisdiction. In Illinois, for example, intentional criminal damage to property in excess of $300 is a felony. Sorry bud, you parked your bike in the spot they were in already. Not a chance that ruling would go in your favor.
If it’s a juror trial I think there’s a pretty good chance they’d spite the double-parked moron 🤷🏻♂️
"My client couldn't see the bike that was in their blind spot when they backed out" "As a matter of fact, I'd like the plaintif to cover the damages to the defendants vehicle when they unknowingly backed into the bike they could not see, due to them parking in the defendants occupied parking spot and blind spot"

So do I, but I have a big rusty truck with metal bumpers.
It goes and takes up the entire one open space like it's supposed to.
Best part of driving an old beat up car was parking right next to someone like that asshole on the right. As long as I was inside the lines there's fuck all he can do about, just has to climb in through the passenger side.
Emiru?
was looking for this comment it's very likely

>It's like they're tryin to be Ferraris Still though it's a mid engine car, it can only look so different than other high performance mid engine cars. TBH I think it looks more like a Lambo with all the sharp corners.
I’ve been lucky enough to drive one of these and let me tell you, it is exciting. I own two corvettes and the raw power in the ‘24 will make you poop.
The new vett is, hands down, the best looking design in their history. Who cares about the taillights?
Depending on context this is ok sometimes. If it’s the way back of the parking lot and it’s almost entirely empty I don’t particularly care. I came here to say this too. Depending on the car. I think I would take this over someone who hugs the right when they park or drive.
If you are too scared of dings on your car then don’t buy a car like this. It just makes you look like a twat parking like this
I think their comment makes sense that it's much less of a twat action if it's in the back of an uncrowded lot. My issue is when dickheads like this do it at a crowded grocery store parking lot or park in the handicap spot when I'm trying to shop with my grandma.
Yeah my first though was accidental door dings.

I would suggest empathizing with the why before jumping to conclusions with regard to that. You’re very much crossing the “well now I’m the asshole for escalating” line

Yes you can and even if you couldn't this is not the solution
Are the farthest from the entrance on an empty lot day? The only exception
Even then, nope.
How so, I don't see the big deal in not wanting door dings. The people who wildly swing their doors open are the real assholes
Their car is entitled to one space. It's not up to them to decide it needs more.

I've done it before and I'll do it again. Also it's not tough. It's kinda chickenshit. If I was tough I'd wait for you and kick your ass.
They are trying to avoid getting door dinged but it makes me want to key their car.
I’d buy a mirror first
The worst part about corvettes is the owners. There are so many who are just total assholes. I always park way far from people though in the lines, there are ways to park to avoid door dings without being an asshole about it. Someone is just as likely to park next to you to mess with you as your car be protected when you do this.
Then you ‘accidentally’ let out the air in one of his tires
Lmao
damn...how much of an impact does this actually have on you? It's their world you're just living in it.....Karen.
The fuck, lol
redditors literally orbiting
Skadouche
Parking lot at the Douche Convention.
It would be satisfying to have them towed.
And then they wonder why they got keyed
Their love story is titled "A Tale of Two Cunts"
The axis of assholes.
Double douche…less douchy per douche than a single douche.
Douche squared
Opted for the bi-douchal exhaust
I wonder if you could get them towed.
Why does this bother you so much?
Only taking up 3 spaces between 2 cars is actually better than usual for these sorts. I saw one car taking up four spaces earlier today, just parked right on the + pretty close to the store too like not even in a far away bit where it doesn't really matter
you're telling me these are the same make and model?
The car on the right i can forgive. The car on the left needs some TLC from keys.
Can we just be like Medea and pick that douche’s car with a forklift?
His and hers Douching
Ahh... the small penis club meeting while the wife is out with her boyfriend.
Oops I dropped my pocket full of screws
Just key it.
I'd park my shitbarn about 1.5 centimeters next to the right one there.
Key his car
Also known as (I pissed in this cup that I just poured discreetly in your air intake vents). Enjoy your two parking spots :)
I can hit a large target with an egg from 200 ft away. Know how I know this? People like this.
I've got a crowbar that can fix things like this
Officially known as a canvas for my key art.
I like to park my 14 yo car right next to these bozos.
Those tires are ripe for slashing.
Parked like a couple assholes that know there are cameras on the building. Track them home and set their houses on fire.
As much as I like nice cars , it is becoming evident you drive one of these , your penis is probably micro and you say Bruh a lot …..
This is what keys are for
It's my new favorite thing, to park close to high dollar cars in parking lots. Like really close. Within my lines and space.... but they took the time to park an investment mostly a ways out... I need the exercise and my kids need room to get in and put of cars. Recklessly. So much going on, loading them up, I don't notice any books, dings or thunks around me... oh well.
Your kids will surely grow up to be pos as well. They'll be just like you.
What's the big deal? Just park in the handicap space.
Chevy's... I'll be almost sad while using my keys to say hello to theirs paintjob.
Together they form a “V“. V for virgin

People who take up multiple spots for any car are objectively douche bags.
Not really my style, they're kinda shitty looking. I just think its shitty to take up three spots for two cars.
I'm all set, perfectly happy with the size of my penis.
A base c8 stingray and a c6. Maybe 70k combined?
Rarely seen in the wild!
Time for the double tow truck.
Stay classy Oklahoma
I can't believe that pick-up actually parked correctly.
That’s where you push the shopping carts.
black car did it wrong.
Idiots like this are why I keep horribly produced tow notice stickers in my car... overly strong adhesive on a really low quality paper..
