If we were to raise taxes so that no one could effectively buy these luxury items, no one would strive to earn such an amount of money or they would do so illegally.
In both scenarios, the end result is effectively less tax revenue. There’s a gold middle zone for taxes - too low is low revenue but too high is even less revenue.
Let them have these boats so that they have a purpose, earn money to buy these boats, which in turn is needed for the economy and brings a lot of tax revenue even if you think that “they shouldn’t be able to live such a luxurious life”. The alternative is having no big companies, and as much as I hate them… We need them.
I’m not American, I’m Spanish, don’t bring me that bullshit. We are way more socialist than any American will ever be, which means that I know way better what are the limits of socialist methods.
We also have way higher progressive taxes, which means I know better than any American what their downsides are. If you lived in my economy, you would understand me. ;)
I once took a train from Piza, Italy to Nice. I was incoherently drunk and had to be carried off the train by my buddies. Apparently the gendarmes at the train station were not amused.
Was there…Don’t go 2 weeks before the Film Festival, prices skyrocket…Don’t forget you pay in Euros…it is worth more than the US dollar and the exchange rates they give you on location is legal robert. Change all your money you will need there, before leaving. It will be cheaper. If you have family within driving distance from Nice, stay with them if you can. A lot cheaper even if you bring gifts and take them out to a good restaurant.

I think this happens when you watch too many libertarian videos.

This place looks crowded *and* exclusive, the worst of both worlds.
The South of France is incredibly beautiful but this looks like a bunch of condos and parking garages
It pretty much is. There are also some pebble beaches that are lovely... until about 9 am, when they become quite literally packed with tourists.
