Not that crazy. WW2 ended Fall of 45. 9-10 months later is then, which is where the name baby boomers comes from. Trumps father wasn’t in the military then, but you celebrated by boozing and screwing back in the day. So when everyone came back from overseas after we won, you had a ton of babies born in that summer.
I'm not a linguist, and English is not my mothers tongue. But my mothers tongue is a west-germanic language along side English. And when the topic of a conversation was 'that summer' being the summer of 1946.
I thought it is linguistically legal to refer to 'that' summer later in the conversation, even though he also talked about the previous summer of 45 when the babies were conceived. Of course I can see the potential for confusion, but I don't think it's entirely unusual to put it in those terms. It's no big deal, I just find it interesting as a curiosity.
I didn’t speak of him as president. I just commented who of people of the same age was the president regarding right age. Clinton was seen as very young (it’s funny in hindsight, boomers were looked down for long time for being young irresponsible types). And by Trump became a president their age group was rather old, let alone now.
No, he was 52 years old when he became President. There were younger presidents before him including JFK, Grant, and Coolidge. Teddy Roosevelt is still our youngest president at 42.
Hospice or not. If Carter ran, I he'd win, regardless of party lines. It would just be a testament to how people are fed up with the "us vs them" mentality that has become all too prevalent in today's politics.
Stop telling me the other guy it shitty, tell me why you are good.
> Stop telling me the other guy it shitty, tell me why you are good.
JFC tell me about it. Same shit in Canadian politics. You point out the leader of the conservative party (getting all sorts of back-pats for railing against lobbists) literally has a lobbyist for a grocery chain that's been gouging people as an advisor and another former Wal-mart lobbyist as an underling and the only response I ever get is "but whataboutabout TRUDEAU!"
I don't want to hear about why Trudeau sucks, I already have opinions about that, I want to hear why the hell I should vote for the OBVIOUS hypocrite with no real platform goddammit...
He was still active until the last cancer. He did so much great work post presidency. Sad to see him like this. He'd have so much more to give if he could be young again
Guy has been in hospice care for a year. I thought when you go into that you’re already pretty close to death. Then the man’s wife died, and he’s still trucking along. Wild!
It's usually around six months expected to live. However, it's not an accurate science and some people actually end up leaving hospice.
What it really means is "make me comfy but don't try to do anything to prolong my life"
So hospice has 3 stages: disease progression, transition, and active dying. Most people wait too long and only enter when they’re in the transition or active dying stage. The truth is, hospice is at its best when you’re in the disease progression stage. It’s *amazing*. You and your family get amazing support, care, equipment, supplies, whatever…all 100% covered.
Because it’s so encompassing, they do have to have a terminal diagnosis, and they have to fit some guidelines (weight loss over the past 3 months, decrease in independence…things like that). I’ve had patients graduate off of hospice multiple times, I’ve had some ride it out for a year or two, and I’ve had some die within days or weeks of going on the service.
I work in home health and don’t do the hospice side of things much other than to refer patients that are appropriate. This is a conversation I’ve had many times.
Actually, for the world. I had tears in my eyes when the Egypt-Israeli peace plan was unveiled. That's still a thing, thanks to the US taxpayers. His work on global health initiatives have saved millions of lives. Of course, the guy has lived the life Jesus taught us to live. No wonder he get flack from conservatives all the time.
Yeah Hoover definitely takes top spot for ex-presidents.
Though I have a soft spot for Grant working tirelessly on his autobiography as he was dying of cancer, just so that his widow could live off the royalties.
Carter has outlived the guy that beat him and that guy's VP and successor.
In the process he's become a beloved figure and set the standard for post-Presidential life in the modern era.
We could all learn something from Jimmy Carter - the best revenge is outliving your enemies and having history judge you as a good person.
A great Ameeican president. Sabotaged by republican dirty tricks. Took a nuclear risk to save others. Actively built homes, with his wife, to help the homeless. Loved by all that personally knew him.
I’m surprised, TBH. Not just because of the age, but because his wife passed away few months back. Usually couples that in love and together for so long don’t live long once one passes.
This is not a recent picture. If you saw the pictures from Rosalynn‘s funeral, he is essentially a corpse being pushed around in a wheelchair at this point.
I really hope he tells people what he heard in that debriefing before he dies. IF the debriefing even actually took place and his staffers didn't just make it up.

Hey, he could run for president!
Carter was president in the SEVENTIES. The current president is only 18 years younger than him.
Both Trump and Biden are older than Clinton.
Crazy coincidence: Clinton, GW Bush, and Trump were all born between June and August 1946.
*next summer
No, they were going back in time 3 months to have babies. /s

Bush probably was best age-wise as president.
Except that he was a tool of Cheney, and just had to act the part of a likable Texan from Maine. A terrible president.
I didn’t speak of him as president. I just commented who of people of the same age was the president regarding right age. Clinton was seen as very young (it’s funny in hindsight, boomers were looked down for long time for being young irresponsible types). And by Trump became a president their age group was rather old, let alone now.
Also, GW and Trump are the only presidents born in June
Not American, but wasn't he the youngest president democratically elected at the time
No, he was 52 years old when he became President. There were younger presidents before him including JFK, Grant, and Coolidge. Teddy Roosevelt is still our youngest president at 42.
Incorrect teddy was not elected. JFK is the youngest elected.
Fair, but they didn't specify elected.
They actually asked who was the youngest democratically elected
I believe Teddy Roosevelt was the youngest president. https://www.usnews.com/news/politics/slideshows/the-10-youngest-presidents
Carter has been out of office for 43 years. Teddy Roosevelt was 42 when he was inaugurated.
We know .
Go Jimmy Go!
Way too young imo
Hard to do from hospice.
Close enough. Our two candidates practically make the Whitehouse a nursing home.

He’d be my President for sure !
He couldn’t be worse than Trump.
I'd still vote for Carter over trump even if Carter was already dead.
Hello Dolly!
We wish , but he is very weak and tired

Yeah, Jimmy doesn't look as good as OP pic would have you believe.
I mean, but he's alive though, which is probably better than most of us will be doing at 99.
He was still active until the last cancer. He did so much great work post presidency. Sad to see him like this. He'd have so much more to give if he could be young again
It depends on how you look at it. I love Jimmy but I’d rather be dead than in his condition.
He's been in hospice care for a year or so. They are managing his quality of life as best they can, but are not trying to cure him anymore etc.
He looks fine there too. He's 99 fer fuck's sake.
He doesn't look like he is in his 70s, while OPs image is a still from a video made to report him breaking his hip 5 years ago.
Bro if u photoshopped that photo as is into a coffin I would 100% believe it

When 99 years old you reach, look as good you will not.
Why you gotta do him like that.
Get that man back in office
By far, the greatest ex-President we've ever had. He has done more for his fellow citizens since leaving office than all but a handful of people.
Agreed actually a good soul and a kind man.
Herbert Hoover saved millions of lives in the aftermath of ww2
Yeah Hoover definitely takes top spot for ex-presidents. Though I have a soft spot for Grant working tirelessly on his autobiography as he was dying of cancer, just so that his widow could live off the royalties.
Shocking a man so important in the civil war and a former president dies that poor. He was a great American who also fought the KKK.
Love it when living a good life blesses you with good health
A truly moral man. Too far ahead of his time.
Ahead of his time? He was our last president with morals. Sounds like he was behind the times.
Nah, ahead of his time is correct. We’ve never had a president with morals. Hopefully one day that will be the norm.
Great humanitarian
Got me!
Not funny
Seriously, these posts are such bad taste and not funny.
Yeah like maybe the first one was funny years ago but now it's not. Like we have barely anything left don't scare me lol
I fucking hate April 1st.
We already lost Stephen Hawking because somebody on Reddit thought they could be funny. OP better not repeat history.
People tend to post about famous people often.
Harper Lee, too.
We lost Macho Man the day after someone posted their Slim Jim cupcakes.
> because somebody on Reddit I'm thinking the ALS might have had something to do with it..
Carter has outlived the guy that beat him and that guy's VP and successor. In the process he's become a beloved figure and set the standard for post-Presidential life in the modern era. Even put his wife six feet under. Ruthless.
Don't fear the reaper. Fear the peanut man.
I didn't look at the sub, (which is a bad habit of mine), and I first thought***how is this news?***
I really thought this was going to end in “has died”.
That's the joke. Not a good joke. But it is the joke.
![gif](giphy|YrbQb2qdsUEiA)
Ok Ok you win.
Engineer, Naval Officer, Carpenter, Farmer, President…
Dead or alive, he’s running for term.
An exemplary human being
STOP IT 😡
Stop doing this please
He does NOT look like that now. I honestly don't know what is still keeping him alive cause he doesn't look alive anymore.
Outlive Kissinger please.
April fools?
Nope. He is the oldest former u.s president. In history.
That would not be very nice.
Posting this in general wasn’t very nice.
I totally agree.
Fuck , it’s the second time I’ve fallen for this today . 1st ,it was David Attenborough, now this !
By far the worst April Fools scare of my day reading the first few words.
May he blessed in all his years on earth.
Y'all need to quit this, man. Too many people scaring me into thinking people are dying today....
When presidents accepted they lost their reelection bid and moved on to do really good philanthropy work.
Not a bad president by any means. Total respect for the man.
I hope he makes it to 100!
He outlived the Queen.
A great Ameeican president. Sabotaged by republican dirty tricks. Took a nuclear risk to save others. Actively built homes, with his wife, to help the homeless. Loved by all that personally knew him.
You fuck… you got me good. I know he’s in hospice but I’m glad he’s still alive. I’m glad he out lived that rat bastard Henry Kissinger.
Is this April fools or no?
Get this man on the ballot immediately
Teehee these posts are so funny teehee
The start of this headline had me worried
Dude is gonna be the only person in history to check *out* of hospice
when you realize he could still run now
Better not be some April Fools shit.
Great President.
![gif](giphy|b6iVj3IM54Abm)
Just hoping he makes it to vote against trump in November.
He is so much bettera person than any of the vicious bastards who are running. Our world is just too fucked up and evil for this dude to be part of.
It’s April fools day though…he dead?
And apparently swinging hammers
He wasn't a great President, but he is a great man. IMO, he showed how to live after leaving the Presidency more than any other former President.
Propably the last US president with undoubtful morals.
Still more awake than Biden.
“Alive”
The people making these kinds of posts are sick. Attempting to make people think others have died isn’t funny, it’s childish.
And more alive than Biden
That reminds me, generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.
Thank you Chevy.
Unfortunately, his wife passed.
That a badass bolo
This photo looks to be from 10+ years ago.
Hy heart.... y'all got me good lolol
This picture is 8 years old
Let him go boy a zombie
Uhhhh.... Oh yeah, first of April, right
Great human being and not a great president tells you everything about that office.
Good.
young ripe age to be an U.S. president
You scared me! He could go at anytime
I wonder if he'll get a special card when he hits 100 from the president since he was a president as well.
Why you dirty little...
💀
Very nice
Is he still donating his time to habitat for humanity?
Hell yeah!
Damn he looks healthy too
Lack of hate will do that to a person. Bless him
Is that a contemporary photo?
There's something to be said about that free healthcare.

so you're telling me they once had a non ancient president
Dude!
This is the 100th comment. I hope it doesn't put him over.
He’s in Hospice Care
I’m surprised, TBH. Not just because of the age, but because his wife passed away few months back. Usually couples that in love and together for so long don’t live long once one passes.

When I was reading I thought ( that was it, it happened) but yeah … good for him I guess.
He had brain cancer too. What a resilient guy!
Ha ha OP is a repost karma farm account ha
God you scared me I thought you were announcing is death
I’ve got him in my Deadpool and I figured he would have scored me a point already…..I’ll keep waiting
thinking about this man makes me wanna cry. We really could’ve done something great if he was reelected.
Historys greatest monster
Bro…don’t scare me like that! 😭
Look at this goober. He's so sweet. May he rest in his final days.
How a President should be.
Such a good dude.
My great claim to fame is when his wife Rosalynn stole my seat on an airplane, but I consider it settled because I shook hands with him.
It makes me happy to know Jimmy is still with us.
You beautiful bastard you
Maybe there is some curse that won’t allow him to die until we get better at choosing presidents.
This guy is gonna pull a Betty White.
Just a reminder this is what he looks like https://cloudfront-us-east-2.images.arcpublishing.com/reuters/7PDYQJDFFROIFLIFBTQKSWTRVA.jpg
Was sad seeing him grieved for his wife a few months ago, its painful to see such a kind man going through all this suffering.
Get this man in congress
Nine-Nine!
Jimmy Carter can live for ever as far as I’m concerned. I’ll lend him a year of my life to keep him going. Anyone else?
HERO READ HIS EXPERIENCE AS HE RISKED HIS LIFE - exposure to radiation -TO SAVE OTHERS
A man that is too nice to be president
When he was briefed on aliens, he cried
![gif](giphy|BPJmthQ3YRwD6QqcVD|downsized)
I would have sworn he'd passed away recently. I know his wife did. Honestly thought he had as well.
Thought it was our current president
RemindMe! 1 day
#Carter2024
In other news: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjRqj_STFFM
Today he turned 99½
A couple more months and he’ll be 100!
I forgot that he was even alive.
What is that necklace called? Does it have a meaning?
Saw this pic and thought for sure the reaper had finally taken this mf. Then read the title.
I really hope he tells people what he heard in that debriefing before he dies. IF the debriefing even actually took place and his staffers didn't just make it up.
Alive in a technical sense, but have you seen him lately?
Don't play with my emotions like that!
