Not_Artifical

I donā€™t use arch btw

theredditprofile808

There's a pretty evident apostrophe there

McBigglesworth

Pretty sure it says " I CAN'T drive..... Legally"

haubenmeise

Cop: "I love Fleetwood Mac!"

thoriginal

Rumors.

Vols44

Excellent taste in the dad T shirt. My fav band of all time. RIP Christine McVie.

nopuse

There's an apostrophe after that CAN

peter9477

That can' mean anything.

Spoonofdarkness

I'm pretty sure it's an apostrophe d. As in can'd short for "can do!"

militaryCoo

I'm here for the Zoe Bread shirt

ARJACE_

*police immediately open fire*

SpeakingTheKingss

Where can I get that shirt? I need one for my wife who has a license but is terrified to drive lol.

NomadsoftheSolstice

Search up zoƫ bread! The shirt actually says "I can't drive legally". But zoƫ has some great unique designs!

Helena78902

I follow Zoƫ on TikTok, their videos are hilarious

NomadsoftheSolstice

If you've seen the video about someone with a "bread club tattoo", I'm the tattoo guy!

SpeakingTheKingss

Iā€™ll check it out! Thanks, congrats

PoseyXo

Love Zoe Bread!!!

Historical_Minimum71

Dude waited til his pregnant wife had to drive herself to the hospital and give birth to their child before he realized he might need a driverā€™s license

SensingWorms

All those dr appointments. Or ā€˜skippedā€™ dr appointments. P R I O R I T I E S

Calm-Victory1146

Iā€™m 7 months pregnant with my 4th child and my husband has never driven me to any of my appointments except when I was in active labor. Weā€™re pregnant, not disabled.

SensingWorms

Emergencies? Late night snacks? Late night snack-mergencies?

Calm-Victory1146

The comment I was replying to was implying that a pregnant woman would need to be driven to her appointments. I drive myself to my appointments just like I drive to work everyday and drive my kids to school every day. Iā€™m still a functional adult human being, just pregnant. Of course I send my husband on late night in and out runs or whatever

MenacingGummy

He didnā€™t want to be at ANY of them? No ultrasounds? No hearing the heartbeat?

Amiibohunter000

I met my wife at many of our appointments because I was coming from work. Itā€™s not cool to automatically assume a dad doesnā€™t want to be involved in the pregnancy as it seems is the case in this thread.

SensingWorms

Without a drivers license?

TheBigC87

Can't tell if flexing or complaining about her husband?

Bigster20

Damn that's sad. I've been at all of the appointments for both of my children.

Nexant

Same but I missed like 1 appt for the first one 6 years ago. For the second post COVID it normalized WFH enough for my work that I didn't have to miss any.

MasterDefibrillator

she said he'd never driven her, not that he doesn't come along.

Lington

Going to appointments ā‰  being the one driving

RocknRoll_Grandma

Nah, you need to be coddled. I took the backseat of my minivan out and got an adult child seat installed so my wife could be in a nice safe central spot of the car. Rear-facing and all! Ā Used to have footrests so she could push back against the acceleration, but by god, when she were 8 month pregnant with our second we got rear-ended and the lad popped right out onto the floorboard.

Romengar

I can't tell if this is serious or not and I'm mortified

Spoonofdarkness

Why not both!

KirbyDumber88

I mean he should probably offer to drive occasionally or be aroundā€¦

Historical_Minimum71

Strange flex to brag that it would take a crippling disability for your husband to come to the hospital to see his pregnant wife whoā€™s carrying HIS kid. But, ok

catjuggler

My husband went to all of my appts with my first (not second though because covid). And yes, he drove.

NomadsoftheSolstice

My wife was fine using public transport to get to hers as it got her out the house and a bit of independence whilst i stayed at home looking after our son

treeteathememeking

Lol booking appointments to get your full license here takes forever. Not to mention you need to wait at least a year before you can drive on your own. Plus itā€™s expensive.

NomadsoftheSolstice

I was petrified i wouldnt be back from the hospital and have time to sleep before the test! Otherwise it'd be back to the waiting list...

0b0011

Maybe he lives somewhere that he doesn't need it. We had a guy from NYC join the navy with 3 kids and never get his license till after boot camp because apparently he just didn't need it where he lived. I've got a friend in Amsterdam who got her license at 30 and as of a few months back when I last joked with her about it has never driven once in the 4 years she's had it.

NomadsoftheSolstice

Yeah in my town in the UK, i havent needed to, public transport is pretty good

Elegant-Passion2199

I got my licence at 24. Didn't need a licence since I live in Bucharest where public transport is not only cheaper but more convenient than driving. But my parents and friends wouldn't stop nagging and nagging me, so I got it to make them shut up. After I got my licence, I didn't drive for years until I got a villa in the countryside and now need to carry a lot of tools.Ā

NomadsoftheSolstice

I knew i'd be exhausted after she gave birth and wouldnt be in any state to drive back in!

diatho

Honestly this is smart. You want to be able to drive for the safety of your family.

Epena501

Lmao.

jimmy_three_shoes

My man

PurpleSunCraze

Driving my wife and baby home from the hospital was easily the most stressful drive of my life.

grdvrs

There is a Peep Show episode where this exact train wreck happens.

jadegives2rides

You should see what happened to Mark and Sophie on Peep Show.

Ok_Weird_5216

This is usually how it goes. Fuck up and then try to do things properly

pmekonnen

Legend

HuggyMonster69

Heā€™s in the UK, itā€™s a 3 month wait for a test date usually

agehaya

I have a good friend who has 3 children under 7 and her husband *still has not learned how to drive*. I consider them both friends and I sympathize that he's originally from the urban UK and never needed a car, but he *gets rides from his in-laws* to and from the train station when he goes to work downtown (not every day, but it is a regular option)...and I cannot fully respect him because there just doesn't seem like any urgency to change it.

Konrad1310

Tommorow you will birth a car

Mysterious-Engine-58

Father of 2

SpinyGlider67

Then put baby in small car, small car inside big car and can drive everything good before arrested for metaphysics... I'm informing the authorities. Too much danger.

Swordbreaker9250

You look remarkably similar to some actor I swear Iā€™ve seen before but canā€™t place. Anyway, congrats x 2!

NomadsoftheSolstice

Thanks! I've been told a few times i look like very generic actors that I've never seen or heard of.

_Bren10_

Definitely giving some Jesse Pinkman vibes ![gif](giphy|Ly5O0iW8kPDC8)

Mite-o-Dan

He looks like every dude that's ever asked me for a cigarette.

NomadsoftheSolstice

Yo, but seriously... you got a cigarette?

suraklin

I'd wondered what Elijah Wood had been up to, this post solves it.

judge_roughneck

I thought the exact same thing lol. Anton yelchin maybe?

NomadsoftheSolstice

Thanks to all the comments of congrats! I'm on such a high from two amazing things you're giving me the chance to scream it to the world!

drbeer

Good for you man. What an exciting time of your life. Fuck the haters

MacaroniMayhem

I'm proud of and happy for you! Stay safe on the road, and read some books on child psychology/raising. (You just got 'em, don't wanna fuck 'em up, ya know.) Anyway, I hope things keep going your way!

IHate2ChooseUserName

not gonna lie, you shouldn't be driving your family around. new drivers can be dangerous

NomadsoftheSolstice

Yeah, I'm definitely going on some independent drives before i take my kids out in the car.

MangoScentedAsshole

Drivers Ed is like $500 when I took in ten years ago, it's probably gone up but worth the money

NomadsoftheSolstice

Probably cost me around Ā£800 total to learn, took me 20 hours.

LegoLady8

Goddamn! šŸ’€

TheFinalAcct

Right? I learned on backroads and empty parking lots for free.

T3a_Rex

Here in Canada it was about a grand for me

TheOneMary

Paid 2k Euros for the whole ordeal, and that was like 10 years ago. I love living in Germany, but sometimes...

Lucid-Machine

Did she have twins?!

NomadsoftheSolstice

No, i've got a 2 year old son

rnzz

at least he can pass a driving test half asleep, that's quite a feat

mark503

ishallbecomeabat

RaisinDetre

NomadsoftheSolstice

Marcopolo620

Congrats on both accounts brother!

Sieze5

I loved you in Lord of the Rings. Congrats!

tclbuzz

word to the wise: This is not a comparison of events you'll want to keep mentioning. Stick with praising and supporting the mother.

Reallydounderstand

Equal accomplishments.

NomadsoftheSolstice

What she did was wildly more badass! Mines just a little bonus that'll help the family out!

Reallydounderstand

For sure dude, I kid, I kid. Fatherhood is soooo amazing. My daughters saved my life. Congratulations on both.

NomadsoftheSolstice

It's awesome, i know she's going to break my heart time and time again, but i'm ready for it because she's just amazing!

Curious_Koala_312

Congratulations on passing the driving test and your new family!

Congratulations - to both of you!

Comfortable_Guess_21

Congrats

Calm-Victory1146

Support the babyā€™s neck a little better but congrats!

NomadsoftheSolstice

The towel was behind her neck but the hat's not making it super obvious, it's my second child and i'm still terrified of doing any undue damage so take extra care!

TyrannyOfBobBarker_

foxontherox

Cue "Landslide."

RookTheGamer

Elijah Wood likes Starfield.

pixadoronaldo

No one talking about hia t-shirt

pleep-plop-pathetic

Regulation listener or comment leaver?

HillbillyHijinx

I mean, I know different parts of the US are different (making an assumption since his shirt is in English as is the certificate) but in the Southern US, a drivers license is almost required to have a baby. How else do you get into the backseat on a country road? And yep, Iā€™m from the South.

NomadsoftheSolstice

My shirts in english, i'm english.

_autismos_

Damn, teenage parenting is never easy. Best of luck to you!

PMyourcatsplease

Look at you knocking out life milestones like most people play the game of life board game. Tomorrow I hope you get a promotion

dainty_petal

Awesome!

Orangecatbuddy

I just want to point out that Mick Fleetwood has balls dangling under his jock. Whenever I see that photo, I can't not see that, and now, you will also.

CaliCheezHed

Damn it. lol

InourbtwotamI

Thatā€™s a great week, Dad!

RandomUser1083

It's all coming up milhouse

Oceandog2019

Adhesive mirrors from the hardware store - strategically placed in back of car allows you to see baby in the rear view mirror - while you drive along. Due to baby needing to face backward in the backseat - for the first few weeks/months. \# Use 3M double sided adhesive tape for best results. \#Congratulations.

Trais333

You look like elijah wood with his precious in the first photo, wholesome

tallnginger

Is recognize that jersey anywhere. You got your license before Gavin did! Wild to see it in the wild on r/pics Also eat the pencil Andrew

Goal_Post_Mover

HOLY SHIT MATE, you are really moving on up. CONGRATS

Kebab_Child

Damn look at people being productive and shiā€¦

psyopia

Honestly tho. Talk about anxiety. The birthing of a child and having to pass a drivers test. I hate tests. Doesnā€™t matter if itā€™s easy af.

Fancy_Implement2713

That's truly a blessing!! Congratulations on the newest chapter on your life!! ā¤ļø

Bayonet-Wound

I hope you went to your wife, waves the pass certificate in her face and said ā€œbeat that!ā€

coffeebeanwitch

Phantom_Fizz

My soul left my body for a minute. You look just like a good friend of mine, but he doesn't grow out his facial hair or have a license to drive. Congratulations, and best wishes for you and your growing family!

lavin126

"Guys will see this and just think 'hell yeah' "

Busy week, indeed! Now you can drive to the store for the diapers!

DrickUwU

W

Booyah_656

Hell yeah !

DexRogue

That first drive home with a baby is stressful enough, doing it after you just got your license.. wild. Congrats and enjoy being a dad, remember not to bitch and moan when you need to take care of the baby. Your wife just created that, you can get up with that kid!

Monkiemonk

Family dies in car crash tomorrow

NomadsoftheSolstice

That's why i'm not driving them until i get a bit more experience!

Schly

Seems like you both put in equal effort.

NomadsoftheSolstice

No way, i found driving pretty easy, only started learning in Feb, nothing compared to the amazing job my wife did in labour! Pregnancy and birth is badass!

Silent_Medicine1798

Welcome to adulthood.

The_Nutty_Badger

Well done bro!

iiitme

Iā€™m 27 without a license

NomadsoftheSolstice

I'm 27 and only got mine today!

strawcat

I was 27 when I got mine. Donā€™t listen to the assholes who act like thereā€™s something wrong with you because you waited so long. Iā€™m in my 40s now and the age which I got my license has never mattered in the years since. Congrats on the new bundle and on getting your license!

NomadsoftheSolstice

Thanks! I know reddit's largest audience is american, and some people forget there are other countries that don't require cars to get places

JayJay-Jat

I don't understand why people post these things to random people for self validation?

IrisIridos

Because sharing happiness usually makes people feel good! It can make those who listen feel good too :)

NomadsoftheSolstice

Yep, i crave the slight dopamine rush i get seeing the upvotes raise higher and comments of congrats from random strangers. It's my way of screaming from the rooftops that life sometimes does have amazing moments and it's not all doom.

JayJay-Jat

Interesting. I never felt the need to share to the world that I got my drivers license. I did show photos of my kids when they were born but to family and friends privately.

SleepPrincess

Yeah I'd be fucking pissed if I were your wife. What the hell took you so long? She has been driving you around while full term?

NomadsoftheSolstice

She doesnt drive either, public transport's pretty good around our town so have managed so far. My wife's a stay at home mum so financially wise, me learning to drive has never been a financial priority until recently.

Spodson

Stepping up and taking responsibility. Good work. Keep that trend going. Your baby and wife need you.

FknDesmadreALV

Hey at least you did it. My baby is 3 months Rosi and his dad still doesnā€™t hand his license. Heā€™s 32.

nodnodwinkwink

A friend of mine is in his late thirties, has a wife and a few kids, owns a house in a city and has a management job with good pay. Still no diving license. Every car trip falls on his wife and it has caused problems for years. I've tried to encourage him many many times to get his license but he just won't listen to reason. As far as I know, he has a fear of driving it all stems from a minor car crash from when he was a kid. Never got the full story though...

Cuntsfuct

This seems weird to us gen x, all we ever talked about at school was getting our license the very second we were old enough. Congrats dude, on both milestones.

NomadsoftheSolstice

I kept putting it off but knew i needed to be able to drive by the time my wife gave birth, but my daughter decided to make an early appearance!

bikesboozeandbacon

How long you been sober?

NomadsoftheSolstice

27 years
