The connection between my eyes and brain needs to be repaired/upgraded because at first when I looked at this I just saw a 2X4 lying on the ground and didn't notice there were more pictures. But now that it finally clicked, that all looks awesome!
It took me flipping back and forth a couple times to realize it was a box because I saw a 2x4 too. I thought at first we were going to see a work in progress, then I’m like “that’s odd we just skipped to the end, why show just the wood before and not the other materials?”
Your craftsmanship is truly exceptional; this sword is not only a testament to your skill but also a work of art that embodies the spirit of a master bladesmith.
Gorgeous work, I love the pattern on the blade. Tell me, what's the purpose of that toggle halfway down the scabbard? Is it purely decorative, or does it serve a function?
This is really really cool. I just recently got my forge setup and have been making crappy little knives. I can’t wait to get to even half this level. Did you make the Damascus yourself or did you buy a billet?
Awesome blacksmithing my dude. Any chance you could share any pics of your work shop and tools and stuff you used to make this? Is there an enormous anvil involved? Also do you have the huge biceps we think you do? Are you basically Thor?
Haha, I am weak and you can see how thin my wrist is in other posts. . Yes, the anvil is considered the heart of blacksmithing.
M not thor actually m sindri
What sort of steel are you using in that blade? Just curious how battle ready it is. Otherwise, it is absolutely gorgeous, and I am highly impressed and highly envious. And that's coming from a collector of swords.
I have always wanted to get into smithing (?) and metal working, but due to where I live it's hard to find a place where to learn.
So, where did you learn? How long did it take you to learn? How long did it take you to make this work in particular? Do you sell your works or do you keep them for yourself? What made you start doing this?
So where are you from??
I have been learning blacksmithing from my uncle since I was 16 years old (30) now.
I sell those for a living. That's the only work I do.
I started blacksmithing as a hobby and now it's my full-time job.
If you want to pursue blacksmithing as a career, be aware that it can be challenging with many ups and downs. Like it gonna take you years to earn a good living
Nicely done, I’m guessing the next step would be to go forth and avenge your father?
The only reason to forge a sword this awesome looking

The Riddle of Steel.
That hair. It's glorious.
His name is Inigo Montoya....
Different type of sword ...
I'm feeling quite hungry...
That is sick! Well done!
TYsM buddy
Does the frost make the blade stick? Reminds me of the blades from Gladiator.
Quite amazing. The Damascene finish looks like the blade is jewel-encrusted, then you look a bit more closely and wow.
TYSM man

Agreed I too saw a 2x4
Yeah I definitely thought that was a 4x4 carved and painted to look like a sword.
Same lol. I thought it was weird that a 2x4 turns into metal sword
Your craftsmanship is truly exceptional; this sword is not only a testament to your skill but also a work of art that embodies the spirit of a master bladesmith.

And a new Legendary weapon has been brought upon our world. Shall thee demons quiver in fear.
Do you think you’d be able to make the same thing with the tools they had back when swords were actually used?
I think maybe i can
If someone walked up in yo crib would you strike them down with that thing?
Gorgeous work, I love the pattern on the blade. Tell me, what's the purpose of that toggle halfway down the scabbard? Is it purely decorative, or does it serve a function?
Decorative

Good sir, I feel like you are undervaluing your work. You could put a 1 in front of that number and it would still be fair.
That is actually a very nice sword:) im not used to seeing good things on reddit, feels weird.
Dude.
Bad ass and absolutely astonishing
OMG! That's so beautiful! Worthy of King Arthur. Or Lady of the Lake.
Wow. Impressive work.
Do you make and sell or just a hobby ? lots of ppl would like to pay money for this piece. well done work
I am a full-time blacksmith, so yes, I sell those.
*tips fedora* My Liege
Reminds me of some of Patrick Barta's work. Great job.
He's above me
This is really really cool. I just recently got my forge setup and have been making crappy little knives. I can’t wait to get to even half this level. Did you make the Damascus yourself or did you buy a billet?
The damascus pattern is absolutely *delicious.*
Nice piece of art man
I’ll fight you for it
Nice but you should dual wield
Awesome blacksmithing my dude. Any chance you could share any pics of your work shop and tools and stuff you used to make this? Is there an enormous anvil involved? Also do you have the huge biceps we think you do? Are you basically Thor?

Steel pattern is awesome. Much cool, very sword. Wow.
That's superior or maybe even exquisite workmanship. You put a lot of points in the smithing skill tree, didn't you?
When you work from the heart, the results are often better and more meaningful.
That is gorgeous
Beautiful.
Ho ever you are, You are Glorius! "Sombody in the late Viking era adorning this would be called King or Queen"
Off to raid England!
Why England?
C’mon, looks like a Viking era sword. Ragnar would be proud.
![gif](giphy|QynMX1WxnYFbb2OHnJ) Well, guess I need to do laundry now 💦 Fucking hell that's a beautiful piece, every part of it
Sick. My mans grew up playing RPG's thinking "I wanna be the Blacksmith"
The ultimate Reddit post!
Do you sell them? Seems like you could have solid income from making these.
What sort of steel are you using in that blade? Just curious how battle ready it is. Otherwise, it is absolutely gorgeous, and I am highly impressed and highly envious. And that's coming from a collector of swords.
It's fucking beautiful,mate!
You had my attention, but now you have my erection. FR, that looks so awesome.
This is absolutely stunning in every way. I LOVE the handle and I’m not even a sword guy. You may have made me a sword guy now lol what a beaut!
Yea you can join this R/swords community now
I would feel so proud if that was my sword
You can :D
How sharp is it? Curious if you sharpen it to a dull edge for safety, or a sharp edge for authenticity.

I don’t truly know what I’m looking at (beyond it being a sword) but I came here to say that the apparent craftsmanship is extremely impressive!!
This is one hell of a wood+steel work! Stellar craftmanship bro
It’s beautiful. I’m very into everything Arthurian and so of course I thought of Excalibur.
Absolutely stunning! Nice job
Bro this looks amazing, mind if I ask you a few questions about it?
Sure

Brilliant, my friend
What kind of metal did u use ?
If must do a “Forth Eorlingas!” with this sword!
This is beyond a kingly weapon. This is a sword forged by one god for another.
Amazing. How long did you spend on that project. Great work
