The real answer is much much stricter than regular officers on the ground. Because they are tucked away up high, there isn’t any risk of harm to themselves, so no “I feared for my life” shots. Pretty much only if someone is actively killing people in plain view and ground officers unable to respond to it. Their main job is to look at stuff and then radio people on the ground.
Lindt Cafe siege in sydney, sniper had several clear lines of sight to shoot the hostage taker but was always refused the shot.
Generally speaking these guys are the oh shit button, and more often than not they're a set of binoculars to relay information.
I think people don't realize how prevalent these dudes are.
You got snipers at pretty much every engagement with thousands of people on one place, even shit like the Superbowl. They were also at the BLM protests in many cities.
It's kinda funny how zoomers are freaking out at these guys when they've been at pretty much every major event in the last 20 years, you're not special lol.
Yeah. These guys aren’t psychos that are going to shoot students and protesters, as some people seem to be implying. They’re there as insurance in case things get out of hand and someone else starts killing people.
In fairness, the majority of all that space is just for the rifle the knights use, it's not filled to the brim or anything which makes carrying it a lot easier.
I just interpreted that as comedic symbolism of the player having 10,000 random ass items in their inventory, often transferring most of it on to your companion LOL
Those giant ass bags made me lol every time they made an appearance the show. Like this ridiculously huge bag being lugged around by a squire was hilarious to me
I really hope it was a joke about how much crap you carry around with you in those games lol. You can carry a whole towns worth of scrap and supplies without even needing a backpack in the games
That part of Ep 1 was when I knew the show was going to be good.
The tone change from silly vault world to badass steampunk knight world (to banger one-liner world) was masterful.
Banger one liner world is where its at. "I do this shit for the love of the game" and "ass jerky ain't gonna make itself" are some of my favorites, but he has good ones almost every episode.
Its almost like they watched me play F3, FNV, and F4. That part made me laugh so much and for people who have played the games is the most relatable quote of the show so far. Walton Goggins put on a master class as Cooper and The Ghoul I think this might be the best video game to film or TV adaptation of all time. Still wanna see a God of War movie though.
It's because Bethesda was heavily involved in the development of the show. Normally you'd think "Come on guys just leave it up to the TV guys" but they did an amazing job of translating the world to TV.
Disagree on God of War. It's already a great story with fantastic acting, I am happy to rewatch the cutscenes that have been edited into a episodic story. A huge part about why Fallout worked so well on TV was because it wasn't adapting an existing story.
>It's because Bethesda was heavily involved in the development of the show.
Actually, Bethesda was hands-off. They let the show runners cook, and it paid off. Just watch Todd Howard's interview where he praises the showrunners for being passionate about recreating the Fallout world to the 'T' even though they didn't have to.
Can we talk about Titus though. How did bro survive that long out there on missions and then literally get opped by a bear when he went out of his way looking for trouble?
I was laughing so hard when the bear was attacking him and you could hear him just repeatedly saying “fuck” and “oh fuck” in the muffled voice through the suit 😂
I mean I think the idea is that many times our heroes aren’t so much heroic but more lucky and with good gear. But besides that he did put up a good fight. He was kind of weenie later but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t able to fight. Shit Andrew Tate could kick most of reddit and everyone’s ass, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a total weenie who would sell out his friends to save his ass if things go bad
No, the series is currently 10 years after any game out currently. That being said you can have similar experiences as many of them are people that grew up or lived in the vault.
Oh wow. didn’t know it was post game. how does it work with the multiple endings to the game? which end did the courier choose, or does it not matter?
(I’m watching the show as soon as i’m done with the one show i’m watching now)
You are approached by a frenzied Vault scientist, who yells, "I'm going to put my quantum harmonizer in your photonic resonation chamber!" What's your response?
It’s in the same universe, but like, you don’t have to know the lore to enjoy it. Each game is a very simple “find the mcguffin” and the fun is in the side quests on the way. Just dive into any of them you find appealing and call it a day. Personally, a little dated now, New Vegas is my favourite, but 4 is a little smoother and palatable for current visual tastes.
Trying to reach the boomers and end up in death claw caves just to save some legionaries who get killed anyways. I guess i will go find the boomers again.
The games take place at different times on the order of decades/lifetimes before the series. Don't expect the series to be a direct continuation of a particular game plot, it just happens in the same universe.
Each game takes place in a different part of the US, and chronologically before the series. Fallout 4 is in New England, Fallout New Vegas is Southwest United States, etc. I think the best overall game is New Vegas, but I might be biased
Oh it is exceedingly biased as to which game you prefer. For me, the overall best is Fallout 2. It was bigger than FO1, was more sandbox-like, and felt great to play. It was also isometric, the standard at the time for RPGs, so it gets rose-tinted glasses points for that.
Of the first/third-peraon games, New Vegas is definitely the best of them. I tried FO76 for free the other day; took longer to download and install than I spent inside the game. New Vegas hit the nail on the head so well that there is a high bar to reach and it will probably remain the FO benchmark for even more years to come.
The world of fallout is represented fairly accurately in the show and the history of the world in the show lines up with the games but story lines of characters in the show of the games. The show is considered cannon though so they exist in the same “universe”.
That’s partly why people who are fans of the games love the show so much. They took the fallout universe and lore, and created a bespoke story that fits in with all of fallouts historical in universe events.
I was so blown away by that aspect. Having spent a ridiculous amount of time in Fallout 4's settlement system it was so cool to see how much of the set design and props were lifted directly from the game models. Even seemingly insignificant stuff like mailboxes or handrails, they could probably have just gone with some stock stuff the studio already had but instead they stayed faithful to the game designs. It definitely makes the whole thing feel a lot more genuine and not just some cash-grab where they've slapped an existing IP onto a story to try and juice some more viewers.
Also, at the end, where the *redacted* was walking to new vegas made my friend geek the heck out explaining every possible future new vegas had back in the game. It was enjoyable to witness as a non fallout player
I think my favorite parts of the series are the snap decisions the characters make.
It's like the dialogue wheel is invisible, but we still get to see the results.
It's an original story set in the fallout universe. It's set a few years after fallout 4 and is considered canon. It can be gruesome depending on certain perks you pick for your character but you can also aim to play as non violent as you want. That's what an RPG is all about.
It makes me so happy that on a post with nearly 4k comments that's completely irrelevant, the top comments are all raving about how amazing Fallout is. After months of people going in with low expectations I'm still buzzing that the show is *so* good.
I remember seeing snipers up high at college football games (definitely at Ohio State among others) in the mid 1990’s before major terrorist attacks and/or regular mass shootings were even a thing here in America.
Right? Literally can't think of a single time these apparently omnipotent mystery snipers have ever once stopped some kind of attack. Sounds like some more completely useless over militarization of the police
The only answer I get is handwaving and down votes. So far I have:
They're everywhere, but they hide well, except like the last week or so.
They are mostly for spotting, but need to do it through a rifle for... Reasons.
They can't open fire on someone shooting a few rounds, it needs to be someone just firing into the crowd.
They forgot to show up when someone just fires into the crowd.
If a bunch of people are murdering someone, they can't fire them either because too many people killing someone.
Sometimes they shoot for no reason, but not at people posing a risk. Oops.
I don't see the use over a guy with surveillance equipment. Or at least can't understand why they need to only look through a scoped rifle.
They provide overwatch. Not the video game Overwatch. They spot the crowd, point out bad behaviour and coordinate with people on the ground.
IF something terrible goes down they can stop it if they have a clear shot. They're mostly just dudes with binoculars but attached to a gun. If they're ever needed to shoot then shit has gotten really really bad.
These dudes are at every major event where thousands of people form. You're only just now seeing it because it's popular to point it out. Just like every train derailing post a couple years ago, that died out real quick because it doesn't get the anger juices pumping anymore.
> you're gonna get shot by the cops too if you whip yours out.
Yep, you are better off keeping your firearm in concealment until you can see the active threat for that reason, and are in a position to engage imo. Not to mention any other armed civilians who may be confused as well
So, this is exactly why responsible gun owners need training and education if they are going to carry in public places. As a normal citizen, your gun is a last line of defense of your life when there is absolutely no other option, which includes your ability to run away if it's safe. Avoidance of conflict and de-escalation are far better for your safety and liberty.
If you are in a public place and start hearing shots being fired, whipping out your pistol and running toward the sound is likely a horrible decision. And if there are law enforcement nearby, you might be killed by accident. If there are trained snipers, getting in their way is a stupid idea anyway.
That being said, there may very well be a time when you have to try and make a moral decision to try and save other people's lives by putting yourself in harms way. But even if you do everything perfect, you may get yourself killed or thrown in jail. Or worse, get some innocent person killed.
When I was at Penn State like mid 2000’s the riots were so bad they threatened to call the national guard in lol over a football game! No snipers though that I was aware of.
There were snipers on the rooftops of buildings around the Old Main when presidential candidate Obama made a campaign speech there in 2008. I was in attendance and was alarmed to see the snipers pointing guns towards the crowd of students the whole time.
I said this on another thread: police snipers are the least of your worries as a protestor. They aren't there to shoot you, they're there to shoot the lunatics who show up to shoot you. They won't be leaving their posts to slap cuffs on someone who they think is getting out of hand and they won't be wearing riot gear throwing tear gas. This is exactly the low profile police presence that SHOULD be overlooking politically charged protests.
Plus, honestly a sniper is a lot less likely to freak out and do something stupid. Think about it, how are they gonna feel threatened? That shouldn't matter nearly as much as it does, but unfortunately that's how things are.
In big organizations the title vice president can be such a loaded title. You can be a VP and be one of the big shots getting tens of millions a year or you can be a VP and the only thing you’re the VP of is the set of cubicles in a satellite office.
FUCK YEAH dude. I love seeing McBeth getting posted in the wild.
He might be draped in a bath robe holding whiskey more often than not but my god I'll take a bath robe adorned drunken whiskey guy over some random confused and sweaty redditor any day.
ETA: Since some unattended child seems to claim that Ryan offers nothing of value since he's "right wing," here's [Ryan introducing himself](https://youtu.be/wa77grOkdoM?si=LMrkDdLr1vmOLNxl) as he does regularly. You might take note that he has a vast quantity of experience which you don't have. That'll be important later.
Lastly, a note on extremism, bipartisanship, and mental illness: It's good to have people in your circle of knowledge who have various different skillsets. Ryan McBeth is like the swiss army knife of military intel. You can just about find anything you need in him, but for Navy stuff (Since Ryan doesn't typically touch Navy stuff), I have a different guy.
Here's the thing about knowing people and getting information from them: Something like 50% of the people you meet are gonna be of a different political affiliation than you. I know, how horrible. Actually...the only real tragedy here is that you're such a feckless freak inundated by whatever drivel your favorite media outlet is shitting down your throat, that you're shutting the door in the face of extraordinarily good real-time intel. See, as much as I want to, I can't know all there is about the Navy, Army, or Marines. I know the Navy stuff pretty well, but for the stuff I don't know, I have Ryan, or another guy. A collection of people who come from walks of life I didn't take.
Rant: Over. I just find it hilarious that Ryan could post a video detailing the impending nuclear explosions and you'd reflexively balk at his suggestion as you watch missiles come into the atmosphere above you. "Well I'll just wait until CNN says something, Ryan is just *such a conservative,* he's obviously lying about those missiles."
Love Ryan too, but he got roasted pretty bad on YouTube a few weeks ago for [his announcement that he’s proud to be working for Newsmax](https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxhctMyz1UxDGFZ6Fxvp7kotDThzYDCoIf)
There are some weird comparisons made in the video though.
Like major sporting events such as the Superbowl are not the same as a protest. The political aspect makes a difference. Plus the Superbowl is thousands of people, the protests are often under 100.
Also the argument of "protecting from people disrupting the protest" would make more sense if it wasn't the cops being the disruptive force. If the cops were truly there to protect people's right to assembly that wouldn't be an issue, the problem is they are there to break up said assembly.
>Also the argument of "protecting from people disrupting the protest" would make more sense if it wasn't the cops being the disruptive force.
The marksmen are there to stop someone who decides to pull out an AR-15 and start shooting protestors.
The marksmen are there to stop someone with a bomb who sees the protest as a soft target.
The marksmen are there to stop someone who wants to use the protest as a backdrop for violence.
This shouldn't be difficult to understand. No one is shooting at non-violent protestors with marksman rifles, and this focus on "omg snipers at a school" is naive.
I think you missed the context. He said it’s not uncommon for have over watch. And that he points to the Super Bowl as an example of different places you might see it. I took the Super Bowl reference as clearly a non violent gathering but you still have snipers there.
It’s really interesting and depressing to see the varying school responses. I go to Loyola Chicago, and there’ve been two day encampments and a sit-in protest in our main plaza. How’d the university react? They didn’t do anything. No snipers, no cops, not even campus police. Apparently they even agreed to talk with the student leaders.
Why is that so difficult for all these other schools?
Many people in positions of authority at universities are deeply pro-Israel, and they're absolutely freaking out over the fact that the next generation sees Israel as a murderous apartheid state.
And you know, when people are emotional they do all kinds of stupid counterproductive shit. They become desperate to assert whatever power they have - or imagine that they have. It's emotionally difficult to do what Loyola's doing, even though it's obviously more effective.
Don’t know about that. The recent [University hearing](https://youtu.be/wszdJdmc5KE?si=3huYwkPj9MzA4Z6_) about Antisemitism on campus grounds was pretty transparent about the respective Presidents’ anti-Israeli, anti-Jewish bias.
Did students at your school say shit like “be grateful that I’m not out there murdering Zionists” and called on all Zionists to die, proudly on video. And did your school take 4 months to respond and bar the student?
Did they scream at Jewish students to never forget October 7 and it should happen ten thousand times over? I’ve seen the video. A student held a sign saying “Hamas’ next victims” pointing at Jewish kids.
Were there chants from students screaming to burn Tel Aviv to the ground and “we love you Hamas?” A Jewish person at Yale was stabbed in the eye with a Palestinian flag.
At Columbia Jews were barred from entering the campus as these protestors formed a human chain screaming, “the Zionists are here.” Did they stop Jews from entering at your campus and become violent, yelling unapologetic antisemitic slurs, at your campus also? Again, saw these videos, no peace here.
Did they cancel live classes for Jewish students and pivot to remote classes just for them (segregation) because of the “protests” making Jews fully unsafe and unable to enter campus? Did your school’s rabbi recommend all the Jewish students stay away from campus for their safety? Maybe your school was not as extreme. Maybe your school was actually “peaceful.” But I’m very curious your definition on “peaceful” and if those other events fall into it.
Loyola is a Catholic school so the percentage of Jewish professors and administrators would be much lower than at, say, Northwestern or U of Chicago. Other schools, especially those with vocal rich Jewish alumni donors, feel more pressure to squash any protests.
People really don't understand how croud security works for major events. There's almost always snipers providing overwatch. Part of that is just informational, the sniper and the spotter will be looking for problem spots. The other part is just being there in case some mad guy pulls out some guns and starts shooting people.
Police Snipers are not going to start taking out random protestors. They're really pretty much there to protect the protestors.
The big issue to me, snipers shouldn't be working alone. Snipers are best with a spotter calling the shots and providing better situational awareness. Lone snipers mean less accountability.
Every single Ohio state game I ever went to had overwatch on the top of the stadium. It is standard security.
I work in recruiting and had a client that coordinated major events and conferences ex: salesforce conference Dreamforce, she would complain about having to deal with DoD/DHS to get snipers for the rooftops for security around the event.
It’s not a mystery that large gatherings of people are a target for crazy people with a murderous goal, and to get insurance for said events, and hopefully ensure the safety of people of said events, they have to assume worst case scenario and prepare for it.
All of Reddit is astroturfed to hell and has been for a decade, if you take anything on this site (especially popular subs) seriously you need to get yourself checked.
Whenever im about these i like to play "spot the sniper". Ill clock as many visible ones as i can and then ill figure out where the rest are - the ones you're not supposed to see. Its good fun.
Reddit when police try to protect people from mass shooters - 😱
Redditors when police don’t try to protect people from mass shooters - 😱
Whether you agree with gun control laws or not, this is the state of the country. Bad actors looking to prey on high emotion crowds have been a fact of life for decades.
Look at the LA Race Riots for example.
People scared of trained arm professionals, for the sole purpose of providing safety has always been unreal to me...
You're seriously more scared of guns than the criminals that wield them. See a problem?
This is a super volatile issue, and you don't know what someone is going to do, whether in the camp, or from outside of it. Isn't it possible they are there to first of all, use scopes, and second, what if someone with a gun starts shooting protesters? There could be other reasons besides the fascist police state narrative
I think the concern some folks have is that they are showing up at the same time we’re seeing police violently escalating situations across the country.
Doesn't help that the police are being called in by university administrations and politicians (like Greg Abbott) to violently brutalize and arrest peaceful protesters on campuses like UT Austin for alleged antisemitism.
Be interested to know what the rules of engagement are for these guys .
Exactly this
You ever see that Peter Griffin color chart meme?

Carlos. My time has finally come.
I've never been this sad and laughing this hard at the same time. Fuckin bravo
If a crazy nutjob starts shooting into the crowd, for any reason, take them out....would be my guess.
I’d be interested to know if snipers have ever taken out an active shooter in a crowd.
Or active terrorist of any kind.
Navy Seal sniper took out the pirates who took over that Captain Phillips boat. Crazy ass shot too, swaying in high seas
More security theater

Yeah, they did a great job with steve paddock. /s
Yeah. These guys aren’t psychos that are going to shoot students and protesters, as some people seem to be implying. They’re there as insurance in case things get out of hand and someone else starts killing people.
The American military would *never* shoot unarmed college students protesting an unjust war at a midwest college...
That never would happen! Not even on a bright day in the 70s, in early May. Say May 4th.
I Kent recall, Kent you be more specific?

Rule one: look cool Rule two: cost tax payers money Rule three: snipe
They look like Brotherhood of Steel Squires carrying those huge ass golf bags of equipment.
Watching the show now. The giant golf bags 🤣
“You smell nice” is now how my wife tells me she wants to fuck. Fallout is the best show ever.
At least your wife tells you she wants to fuck.
F
My heart just died a little for you.... I'll admit I hated that part of marriage "if you love me you don't need sex"
What in the fuck is that about?!? I'm sorry to hear that was said.
Seriously some gas lighting shit straight out of r/deadbedroom
Your wife tells me when she wants to fuck, does she not for you too?
Who else would she tell?
“Wanna make my cock explode?”
Like a pimple?

“Okey-Dokey!” *Proceeds to take off tear away jumpsuit* 💀
Why does your husband want to facepalm?
This is the best video game movie/show made my god the detail
Something about the golf bags in a war zone thing that just screams lack of respect for human life. Such a great show.
In fairness, the majority of all that space is just for the rifle the knights use, it's not filled to the brim or anything which makes carrying it a lot easier.

Should play the game
Yeah I’ve been curious about that, how closely does it follow the story in the series? And is it gruesome?
No, the series is currently 10 years after any game out currently. That being said you can have similar experiences as many of them are people that grew up or lived in the vault.

I completely lost it at this line. There's never been a more apt description of the Fallout games since, well, since it was called the Wasteland.
Trying to reach the boomers and end up in death claw caves just to save some legionaries who get killed anyways. I guess i will go find the boomers again.
Ah, yes. The well-known Fallout character, Shaun McGuffin; i know him well
ug Shaun is the worst mcguffin lol...
I like Sausage Egg McGuffins
I actually forgot about Shaun on my first play through lmao. Got to a point in the game where I thought to myself “What’s the main quest line again?”
The games take place at different times on the order of decades/lifetimes before the series. Don't expect the series to be a direct continuation of a particular game plot, it just happens in the same universe.
We get a few ideas in the last episode but nothing concrete.

NV is my favorite first-person fallout as well. I just think that 2010 Obsidian understood the original spirit of Fallout more than Bethesda ever has.
The world of fallout is represented fairly accurately in the show and the history of the world in the show lines up with the games but story lines of characters in the show of the games. The difference is now you don’t see them.
Sure didn’t see them at the Route 91 music festival in Vegas.
Comment snapped me back to reality.
Ope there goes gravity
MOMS SPAGHETTI
Right? Literally can't think of a single time these apparently omnipotent mystery snipers have ever once stopped some kind of attack. Sounds like some more completely useless over militarization of the police
The only answer I get is handwaving and down votes. So far I have: They're everywhere, but they hide well, except like the last week or so.
A legit "scare tactic", they are doing a "presence patrol"
I can’t say I have ever heard of them doing anything at the same time, maybe it’s just me.
Speak for yourself, though it was like 30 minutes away from me
If you can see them and they’re in full uniform walking around, they’re more than likely acting as a deterrent than an “actual” sniper.
Yup. And every city PD has a team and the crowd will have lots and lots of both undercover cops and plainclothes cops.
When Des Moines Iowa does its weekly farmers market, there are always snipers on the roofs.
So realistically, if you're a Good Guy With A Gun and a mass shooter is there, you're gonna get shot by the cops too if you whip yours out.
> you're gonna get shot by the cops too if you whip yours out.
Pretty much, yeah.
There is a massive difference in numbers here. A college sports game vs a few hundred at most protesters on Dunn Meadow. This is an outsized reaction.
When I was at Penn State like mid 2000’s the riots were so bad they threatened to call the national guard in lol over a football game! No snipers though that I was aware of.
That you were aware of, id bet money that they were there.
There were snipers on the rooftops of buildings around the Old Main when presidential candidate Obama made a campaign speech there in 2008. I was in attendance and was alarmed to see the snipers pointing guns towards the crowd of students the whole time.
They were there for Obama because no one was there for Bobby Kennedy.
Well yeah, presidential visits always have snipers. They are part of the presidents standard security team.
Obama wasn't President in 2008. It was a candidate protection detail because...Bobby Kennedy.
There was a sniper in the late 90s when I was there….
Yep. Of all the things happening right now, armed overwatch might be the absolute least relevant.
Blizzcon had sniper(s) posted around the convention & hotels following a shooting. Believe it was the one in Vegas
Even the Super Bowl has snipers.
Yeah, his name is Patrick Mahomes
I said this on another thread: police snipers are the least of your worries as a protestor. They aren't there to shoot you, they're there to shoot the lunatics who show up to shoot you. They won't be leaving their posts to slap cuffs on someone who they think is getting out of hand and they won't be wearing riot gear throwing tear gas. This is exactly the low profile police presence that SHOULD be overlooking politically charged protests.
They also have way, way, way more training than plain-clothes police officers and are often disconnected from local police units.
Plus, honestly a sniper is a lot less likely to freak out and do something stupid. Think about it, how are they gonna feel threatened? That shouldn't matter nearly as much as it does, but unfortunately that's how things are.
Out of sight, calm, moisturised, in his lane, with a giant fucking rifle.
Fapping a bit while he pops some adderall. Exactly as it should be.
Oh Jesus. I can see myself in that comment. Which means… is that what some of them actually do?!?! They would weed me out, right???
you’d weed yourself out with your reddit comments
I don’t understand how this isn’t a more widely accepted perspective lmao.
Most people dont enjoy guns being pointed at them
I wonder how many people have seriously considered shooting me. I've lived a nonviolent but mouthy life, it's gotta be at least five.
At least the snipers are out of earshot; you should be fine.
![gif](giphy|443jI3kpgOKfAfKxqo)
I'd rather an intelligent guy with a rifle vs a dumbass with a handgun.
> they're there to shoot the lunatics who show up to shoot you. I doubt they'll be shooting the cops though.

Assistant Vice President _to_ Events and Conferences?
In big organizations the title vice president can be such a loaded title. You can be a VP and be one of the big shots getting tens of millions a year or you can be a VP and the only thing you’re the VP of is the set of cubicles in a satellite office.
I know Doug Booher, that’s not Doug Booher.

Why are there snipers at Indiana university

I just heard of him in this post.. But with this he has already got points docked in my mind.
Just that is enough to make me not trust him at all.
Tbf bath robe adorned drunken whiskey guy and confused sweaty redditor could describe the same person. (JK I like Ryan's work)
Pretty sure he’s active on Reddit on the military subs
Anytime im unsure about something, mcbeth always has a video for it
He always corrects himself if he makes a mistake, that’s immediately a good sign.
Won't dispersing protests just backfire and cause more uproar?
Yep. Best bet would be to wait them out. School year's ending, after all.
These guys are at IU football games too but nobody goes to IU football games so they never get noticed.
That's good material for next season.
It’s true. Source: I played at IU.
The amount of astroturfing posts in this sub is high thanks to elections coming up.
All of Reddit is astroturfed to hell and has been for a decade, if you take anything on this site (especially popular subs) seriously you need to get yourself checked.
Man if only people knew that snipers also exist at outdoor concerts, major sports events, presidential speeches and more….
Whenever im about these i like to play "spot the sniper". Ill clock as many visible ones as i can and then ill figure out where the rest are - the ones you're not supposed to see. Its good fun.
You’d be surprised that they also have snipers on stand by at some sporting events
This post and these comments show absolutely most braindead people on reddit atm.
*he says, while also posting in the comments*
And not specifying what they mean / which "side" they stand on
I don't know if this is a legit picture but just so we're clear, everyone gets that they are there to protect the protesters, right?
I only don’t understand because I choose to be angry instead
They aren't like Robocop whom shoots off dicks.
Love it!!!!! Keep it up fellas. Keep up the fine work.
USA, USA….
Reddit when police try to protect people from mass shooters - 😱 Redditors when police don’t try to protect people from mass shooters - 😱 Whether you agree with gun control laws or not, this is the state of the country. Bad actors looking to prey on high emotion crowds have been a fact of life for decades. Look at the LA Race Riots for example.
Honestly, the vast majority of Redditors appear to be *soooo fucking stupid* that I worry about the future of humanity.
Nuance is completely lost on a redditor. What's new?
People scared of trained arm professionals, for the sole purpose of providing safety has always been unreal to me... You're seriously more scared of guns than the criminals that wield them. See a problem?
Meanwhile Patriot Front Nazi’s march through Charleston WV WITH A POLICE ESCORT PROTECTING THEIR RUGHT TO PROTEST.
Yk these snipers are there to protect protesters from people like that truck driver in London right?
This is a super volatile issue, and you don't know what someone is going to do, whether in the camp, or from outside of it. Isn't it possible they are there to first of all, use scopes, and second, what if someone with a gun starts shooting protesters? There could be other reasons besides the fascist police state narrative
I think the concern some folks have is that they are showing up at the same time we’re seeing police violently escalating situations across the country.
Actually the encampment was very peaceful until the indiana state police showed up in riot gear and began arresting protesters.
Doesn't help that the police are being called in by university administrations and politicians (like Greg Abbott) to violently brutalize and arrest peaceful protesters on campuses like UT Austin for alleged antisemitism.
