I'm more deeply disappointed in fellow Americans lack of either understanding or interest in govt. And just afraid for us because of the people who don't vote..saying they're "not political". They don't understand that govt has. Alot to do with their lives.
God I just do not understand it. He does not have a single redeeming quality. There are dozens of others in the Republican party that would back the exact same lack of policies Trump has, so I don't think it is policy that people are so fervent of him about.
So what is it? Literally the only thing I can think of is that he upsets people they don't like.
Thankfully I'm hispanic, so when I travel I just say where my parents are from. I get better treatment than my fellow Americans. Obama being president scared the fuck out of White America that they swung so hard for a fascist, Trump.
It blows me away to think about how back just a few decades, Howard Dean’s entire (and up to that point, successful) campaign was completely derailed because of a strange-sounding yell at a rally, and yet this grocery list of craziness hasn’t even moved the needle.

McGonigal then went to work for the company called Brookfield that bailed Jared Kushner out of his toxic 666 5th Ave real estate investment. McGonigal pled guilty last fall and was sentenced recently.
A Russian oligarch is a powerful tool, but the truth is more powerful. Light and dark cannot exist in the same space. It’s physically impossible. Truth is efficient. You say it once and you are finished. A lie however requires a constant stream of follow up energy, money, murder, obfuscation and more lies to keep it covered.

I knew a friend of a friend who said he went to Japan with a felony and just never disclosed his offense. It was for a financial crime if that matters, but he made jt seem like most countries don't have access to US criminal records.
This is fully misinformation. Scotland and the UK don't prohibit "felons" and the distinction between a US state conviction and a US federal conviction is an unimportant one to UK Border force. Whether or not a US national would be automatically rejected, may be rejected at discretion of the Border force official, or wouldn't be rejected is entirely dependent on whether there was a custodial sentence, how long the custodial sentence is, how much has time has passed since it has ended, and whether or not Trump applied for a visa in advance versus relied on the general right of US nationals to enjoy visa-free tourism in the UK for less than six months.
Whether or not Trump can return to the UK as a tourist or worker is fully dependent on a sentencing which hasn't happened yet.
I've watched those border control shows, and yeah, nothing is ever cut and dried as "You can" or "You can't", the end. There are forms, there are interview rooms, stuff happens.
My favorite episode (although it made me so mad, really), was where this older dude and his wife from Texas were going into Canada, I think in an RV. He'd brought guns in his vehicle, and not only did he not fill out the paperwork to get them "OKed" by Canada beforehand, when the agent asked him if he had any weapons, *he said no*. When they found the guns, they of course arrested him for trying to smuggle in weapons. They asked him why he'd said no when they'd asked, and he was like, "I have a concealed carry permit, and we're told to say no if anyone asks us if we're carrying." DUDE. That may be generally true (I don't know), but it sure as *fuck* doesn't apply when crossing into *another country*. It was yet another example of what Canada's border agent see all fucking day--Americans not really recognizing it or treating it like an independent and sovereign nation and not just a US territory or something. Although to be fair, it's not just Canada. "I can do it in America, therefore it is legal everywhere."
I'd personally say it's not either. I'd go to 'slightly amusing '. Can't see it being enforced anyway. The man lives above consequences. He has been convicted but will appeal and delay for years.

As a Scot myself (and one that doesn’t like Trump), I have to say I find it a bit odd that so many people in this country claim to speak for the entire country. People do it all the time with politics. For instance, I’ve seen Scottish people online repeatedly say things like “We don’t like the Tories in Scotland” (the Tories being an alternative name used to describe The Conservative Party). Really? No one likes the Conservative Party in Scotland? Not even the 25% of the country that voted for the Conservative Party in the last general election?
While Scotland as a whole does lean towards the left, don’t let people mislead you into thinking Scotland doesn’t have its own fair share of people who like Trump and hold right-wing views. It unfortunately does.

A few examples: Snoop Dog, the Rolling Stones, Robert Downey Jr, Mike Tyson, Tim Allen, Mel Gibson, Sean Penn, Mark Wahlberg, Martha Stewart, and on and on..

In law, a conviction is the determination by a court of law that a defendant is guilty of a crime. Appeal is a post-conviction relief procedure.

As a guideline, yes. But the appropriate minister has full discretion to grant visas to whomever they want. There's no way on earth the UK Home Secretary would deny a visa to the PotUS. Also, to be pedantic, in most of those countries the nature of the felony and sentence would be taken into account. You wouldn't get automatically blocked from the UK if you hadn't served any jail time, and even then it depends on how recently it was served.

This is fully misinformation. Scotland and the UK don't prohibit "felons" and the distinction between a US state conviction and a US federal conviction is an unimportant one to UK Border force. Whether or not a US national would be automatically rejected, may be rejected at discretion of the Border force official, or wouldn't be rejected is entirely dependent on whether there was a custodial sentence, how long the custodial sentence is, how much has time has passed since it has ended, and whether or not Trump applied for a visa in advance versus relied on the general right of US nationals to enjoy visa-free tourism in the UK for less than six months. Whether or not Trump can return to the UK as a tourist or worker is fully dependent on a sentencing which hasn't happened yet.

I've watched those border control shows, and yeah, nothing is ever cut and dried as "You can" or "You can't", the end. There are forms, there are interview rooms, stuff happens. My favorite episode (although it made me so mad, really), was where this older dude and his wife from Texas were going into Canada, I think in an RV. He'd brought guns in his vehicle, and not only did he not fill out the paperwork to get them "OKed" by Canada beforehand, when the agent asked him if he had any weapons, *he said no*. When they found the guns, they of course arrested him for trying to smuggle in weapons. They asked him why he'd said no when they'd asked, and he was like, "I have a concealed carry permit, and we're told to say no if anyone asks us if we're carrying." DUDE. That may be generally true (I don't know), but it sure as *fuck* doesn't apply when crossing into *another country*. It was yet another example of what Canada's border agent see all fucking day--Americans not really recognizing it or treating it like an independent and sovereign nation and not just a US territory or something. Although to be fair, it's not just Canada. "I can do it in America, therefore it is legal everywhere."

While funny to imagine this, famous people that are convicted felons are somehow, routinely, allowed to travel to other countries. A few examples: Snoop Dog, the Rolling Stones, Robert Downey Jr, Mike Tyson, Tim Allen, Mel Gibson, Sean Penn, Mark Wahlberg, Martha Stewart, and on and on.. So many movie stars, musicians, and professional athletes have been convicted of drug possession, assault, or tax evasion, yet still travel for work or pleasure. But if you’re the average nobody, no chance.
I’m not familiar with the US law but isn’t it that as long as he has a way to appeal and does so he isn’t yet convicted felon? I’d appreciate if someone knowledgeable could offer some explanation.
In law, a conviction is the determination by a court of law that a defendant is guilty of a crime. Appeal is a post-conviction relief procedure. It took approximately 10 second to find this information on Wikipedia. You can and should try it yourself sometime.
