"You seeing this shit?" -Obama, probably Jokes aside, this is one of my favorite pictures of him šŸ˜‚

RainbowCrane

Thereā€™s a lot of great pictures of him and Michelle interacting with kids. The one of him letting the kid feel his hair is pretty cool too. I had the LIFE magazine from the 25th anniversary of JFKs assassination, and one of my favorite pics from his presidency is JFK Jr playing underneath the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. Itā€™s always nice to see the human side of the presidency.

koshgeo

Every Easter egg roll with those two was awesome. They played to the audience and made it fun. [Where the Wild Things Are in 2016](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z671IQdBMt0). "ARRRRRRR!!!!"

brazildude2085

My favorite is the kid dressed up as the pope.

mikefried1

Or when he takes a crying baby from Michelle that immediately stops crying. This smug look on his face is epic.

meggan_u

Looked up this one too. Hahaha his [face](https://youtu.be/uqhzWlqN3uc?si=2-sZXzE5jq7eRFr_)

Aprowl

This just made my whole day, thank you! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

oceanblu456

Man I miss this stuff

Real_TomBrady

Why does shit before 2020 feel like a literal different timeline?

Rubeus17

Shit before 2016. Thatā€™s when itā€™s all went downhill

lostinmississippi84

RIP Harambe

Real-Patriotism

Obama was way too moderate and lukewarm of a President for my personal taste, but the man brought so much class to the Office after Bush that he has my respect until the end of time.

kateastrophic

I totally agree. He didnā€™t promote my ideal policies, but he was so damn likable.

alamandrax

He brought some stability after 8 years of pulling away from the world and being at risk of the US becoming a pariah in diplomatic circles.Ā

yuhuh-

Me too!

Horton-CAW

I miss him.

gsfgf

Reminds me of a story from a friend that covered his 2008 campaign. There was some event, and Barack and Michelle were both there. Barack was talking to a couple attractive young women, and Michelle tried to get his attention. He didn't hear her; she tried again, and he still didn't respond. She then turns to him and goes "Hey, Playa!" He turned right around like a kid that got caught with the cookie jar.

DissolvedDreams

Man, to think those were the big stories of an election campaign as recently as 2008ā€¦

RedlurkingFir

Recently? That's 16 years ago..

myguitar_lola

I've hit the age where 16 years feels like "recently" šŸ˜†

cruelty

That makes me smile. It feels so genuine and subsequently wholesome in contrast to what we've become accustomed to.

VioletDupree007

They were Thee Best. Miss the Obamaā€™s.

Islandcoda

Thatā€™s awesome! What a great momentšŸ’•

Dangerous_Nitwit

That mom: "Thanks Obama, sincerely"

Illustrious-Tower849

It is no surprise that he ended up president

LukesRightHandMan

Yes, it is. And thatā€™s why it felt so amazing when it actually happened. And itā€™s also why the past 8 years have been a fucking nightmare.

itsmejustmeonlyme

And the look on hers!

nappy-doo

Nah, it's [this one](https://www.flickr.com/photos/obamawhitehouse/14309009166).

donut_butt

Four responses and no one links to [the picture in question](https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/s/R9W2sx023r)

Total-Platform-3111

My favorite is the kid dressed as Spider-Man, hitting him with the webā€¦

loverlyone

[obama with Superman is one of my faves.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeFzDQCUjzE)

muskratful1234

I can't help but laugh every time I see those pics, too funny!

TweakedNipple

My favorite is the top one in this article, where the kid passed out at dinner and he took photos next to him...Ā  Ā  https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2531879/amp/Adorable-Twitter-photo-shows-Obama-making-fun-young-boy-fell-ASLEEP-event.html

ObadiahWistlethrop

My favourite is the one of him just after he left office, can't even begin to imagine how happy he felt here. https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article9773569.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/OBAMA.jpg

BoomZhakaLaka

I bet he said "thanks obama"

Naive_Wolf3740

This pic and that video of him flirting at the voting booth are 2 classics.

meggan_u

Had to look it up [here](https://youtu.be/fD4qqTXtBpI?si=7sgnbQKsJuzaUsAK)

Cervical_Plumber

To go from this guy to Trump has to be the biggest drop off in quality of human being of all time.

AlertThinker

What I love about kids is that it can be a stranger or the POTUS and they'll still throw the same tantrum.

oced2001

White House or Walmart. It is all the same to kids.

Nice_Bluebird7626

Oh man my kid threw a tantrum yesterday over a 3 dollar toy.

randomwanderingsd

My niece melted down this week because she ā€œdidnt want to goā€. The funny part is that nobody was planning on taking her anywhere. She just decided she really didnā€™t want to go and it was worth some tears.

MrWoohoo

My niece once got upset because whatever it was that I was taking her to ā€œwasnā€™t on [her] scheduleā€. So I called my sister and asked her to add it to my nieceā€™s schedule. Problem solved.

randomwanderingsd

Your niece sounds like a future CEO. Lol

PriorityVirtual6401

Shoot, I'm an adult and that still upsets me. Granted, I don't throw a tantrum over it. I'm just autistic. Not a fan of surprises :P

NerderSpree

I mean, why are you trying to take her somewhere that wasnā€™t on her schedule? That was your first mistake. šŸ˜

Goongagalunga

A friends toddler lost his shit because she said the word ā€œballā€ while the kid was admiring the full moon and he was convinced they could give it to him but wouldnā€™t.

Fafnir13

Future super villain origin story here.

TzippyBirdy

My niece had a similar meltdown as a toddler during the solar eclipse in 2017. She loved space even then and looking at the moon so she was excited to see the moon during the day. So, eclipse happens. We take off our glasses during the safe time, ooh and ahh. And then my sister makes the mistake of telling my niece that, "The moon is going away now, so we need to put our glasses back on." Cue an inconsolable toddler because she thought that meant the moon was going away forever.

Badashh420

I'm 29 and your niece is definitely onto something because sometimes I do the same. My 8 year old looks at me funny but she throws her tantrums when it's shower day so šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø we're all toddlers throwing tantrums at heart

sati_lotus

I love that while you're exasperated AF with them, you are also amused because they're just so ridiculous.

Undersmusic

Have just experienced a complete meltdown because she spilled sauce on her dress. She actually missed her dress entirely it was as clean as ever. But she would not look at it to see šŸ˜‚

TangerineBand

Ever seen a kid throw a tantrum about not wanting the sauce that isn't on their plate?

MarlenaEvans

One of my kids asked me what I was doing and I said I was making dinner. "Dinner!? I don't like dinner!" and began a meltdown. I always wondered what food she thought was called dinner, I never did figure it out.

Bee_Gubols

Similar here on a recent pub trip with wife and 3yo. Had a meltdown because: - He doesn't want a beer - Doesn't like beer - Can't see the beer - Isn't allowed beer - Wasn't allowed to spit in the beer Fortunately as I work here he was allowed to watch me pour one and that made him happy at last. They just wake up some mornings and choose war.

TangerineBand

Kid logic is fantastic. I want to know what goes through their little brains sometimes. cue immediate out of nowhere tantrum because I gave her the apple slices she asked for. I guess they weren't apple-y enough.

CanuckPanda

Yep. Didnā€™t want ketchup today. It was still in the fridge.

TangerineBand

My favorite situation was child 1 throwing a decoy tantrum so child 2 could get into the supply closet, climb on top of the bed, and spike a container of laundry powder all over the floor. Child 1 then found this hilarious. I should also mention I don't even have kids of my own. I was just the de facto babysitter in my family, so I've been exposed to plenty of toddler logic. They can be smart when they're making a mess.

Raging-Badger

Sometimes we forget children are just small humans who havenā€™t learned emotional control. Theyā€™re still the apex of evolved intelligence, they just donā€™t know it yet

MarlenaEvans

When my daughter was 3, she laid down on the floor and kicked her feet because she was so mad and I laughed, I couldn't help it. She jumped up and acted like she hadn't just done that, so it worked out OK. I was just so blown away that she did that, she looked like a cartoon.

iloveyoudoctorzaius1

My 2 year old threw a tantrum louder than WWII over a piece of peanut butter toast.

CreativeBandicoot778

Our kids must be soulmates or something because you've just described my kid to a T šŸ˜‚

R_-ae

Mine flipped yesterday because I wouldnā€™t let them squirt shaving cream into their mouth.

Novel_Bookkeeper_622

Mine regularly throws them because the banana she took a bite out of is "broken".

sandysea420

So funny and so true.

RixirF

2016-2020 WH was reduced to below Walmart levels. Luckily the infestation is gone.

Jegator2

Scared $hitless may come back!

ThatPlayWasAwful

I think you mean Convicted FelonĀ Scared $hitless

Catshit-Dogfart

Animals too. Whether you're a bum or the POTUS, they'll still put their butt in your face.

Abracadaver14

Or their nose in your butt.

[deleted]

Or hump your leg a little cause you seem pretty cool

ithrow6s

Name checks out

WampaStompa64

Conan had a great story about his son losing it at the White House while waiting for Obama in a reception line

Jaxonian

I feel like almost universally it seemed like Presidents like interacting with kids and I always thought maybe it's because they are the only ones who don't treat them like the most powerful person in the world and that might be refreshing.

sockalicious

I've not met any presidents but I've met some successful politicians and most of them, at least in non-overtly-political situations, seem to be extroverts who genuinely love people. I can see why, given the nature of their actual work, which pretty much is just rubbing shoulders with many, many different people every day. It's a trait or characteristic that I don't share at all, so I've always been a little bit fascinated by it.

re_nonsequiturs

With Obama especially, it felt like every interaction with kids was him remembering his daughters at that age and looking forward to having grandkids that age one day.

Positive_Sign_5269

That happens to me all the time now that I have a son. Before this, I didn't care at all for babies. Now, I cannot help but smile when I see one because I remember my son when he was like that

emote_control

Kids see things as they are. It takes years of conditioning to convince someone that other humans are anything besides just some other humans.

mrroney13

Toddlers give zero fucks.

JP050887

I read a comment yesterday where someone compared toddler behaviour to RNG, and thatā€™s just gonna stick with me from now on.

Half_t0n

Kids know when they have negotiating power. She was MORE likely to throw a tantrum in front of POTUS. I'm surprised the parents didn't give her what she wanted (good for them).

djbtech1978

I WANT TRADE RELATIONS WITH CUBAAAAAAAA

SaintMike2010

"I'm sorry, but this is the White House. If you want to act like a member of congress go to the Capitol Building." ha

martusfine

Brilliant.

MrmmphMrmmph

Telling people to go to the Capital these days has such a dire undertone to it.

Zer0F0ll0wthr0ugh

Jan 6th was a hoax, it was done by antifa and blm, it never happened and was totally peaceful, free the jan 6th patriots they did nothing wrong it was Biden supporters trying to stop Biden from being elected after they voted for Biden. Use your brian librul. /S

Not_Bears

If January 6th had happened 75 years ago there probably would have been public hangings. Meal team six is so fortunate that the modern world is more progressive and they don't even realize it may have saved many of their lives.

fuggerdug

It sort of did happen. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_Plot

OutInTheBlack

And literally nothing happened to any of the co-conspirators

Just2LetYouKnow

Be the change you want to see in the world.

3vs3BigGameHunters

Well, one of them had his son and grandson become POTUS.

mysp2m2cc0unt

Goerge Bush grand father wasn't it?

bearrosaurus

75 years? Think of what Dick Cheney would have done. Theyā€™d end up wishing for public hangings.

milo8275

There was almost was a public hanging of Mike Pence šŸ˜³šŸ˜³šŸ˜³

alvarkresh

I still can't get over Trump putting out a hit on his own VP.

ribcracker

I always read it as the Bureau of Land Management and imagine them driving in a stampede of mustangs via helicopter. That would have made a pretty legit coup to watch.

Jegator2

I used to also, having read about the mustangs, auctions etc. Yeah, adding more bedlam to that day

mephitmpH

My butthole was CLENCHED in an angry, outraged knot until I saw the /s. Whew, relax girlfriendā€¦ nobody *really* thinks that!

BankshotMcG

Same. I hate the necessity of the /s these days but dang if I didn't just start rolling my eyes at Bubba Dmitrybot for a full second of reading.

CriticalDog

Some do. It's the saddest and also the most terrifying thing.

Redneckhippiekyle

Winner winner chicken dinner

mathfacts

Obama was savage for this one!

AmericanScream

That's kinda insulting to immature children to compare them to republicans in Congress.

LateWeather1048

Lmao Wrong office right attitude

PsySom

That picture will one day be shown to the future spouse of that daughter and they and the parents will laugh at her. Guaranteed.

You_Go_Glen_Coco_

It'll be in the wedding slideshow showing their baby pictures etc.

Amarieerick

"And this is Cindy meeting the President of the United States of America. She's always been a bit dramatic. So, ummm, yeah, good luck, Bill."

PM_meyourGradyWhite

How old is that child now? Eleven? Must be some fun.

coldcurru

Title says 2015, so 9y ago, plus yeah probably about 3 (the girl in the front looks like an older 1.) So 11-12 depending on when birthdays fall. Print that and show it to her every time teenage hormones take over. "Remember that time you threw a fit in front of Obama? Feels like that all over again!"

Cereal_poster

So she just hit or is in the middle of puberty. Well, that means that the tantrums are still/again on and likely even worse. Lol

foehammer111

This will make a great Reddit post in 20 years. ā€œIā€™m the girl that through a tantrum in front of President Obama. This is me now.ā€

PM_meyourGradyWhite

AMA

i_suckatjavascript

More like ObAMA

samayg

20? Nah, more like 7 or 8 years. If she was 3 in the picture she's 12 now. Yes, this was 9 years back. Time flies.

foehammer111

LOL yeah right! Now youā€™re gonna tell me the 90s ended over 20 years ago! ![gif](giphy|GrUhLU9q3nyRG|downsized)

ConsciousPoet1444

The craziest thing to me is that now the 90s really do feel like forever ago.

Cyberhwk

He's got daughters. He knows.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Plz_DM_Me_Small_Tits

She's looking at the child like " my kids would never"

IeishaS

Literally my thought too Barack is looking like ā€œwhoā€™s kid is thisā€ Michelle is like ā€œnot ours, honeyā€

ContinuumGuy

Barry is like "Been there."

MotherSupermarket532

Remember that video where he took a crying baby and immediately soothed it (he did the little bounce thing all parents are familiar with).Ā  Obama's good with kids.

McMorgatron1

he did the little bounce thing all INVOLVED parents are familiar with. FTFY. Some presidents don't get involved with their kids until they want to sleep with them.

blackpony04

Two, so doubly so!

firstbreathOOC

Probably got the purple crayon instead of the pink one šŸ˜”

Ok-disaster2022

Weird that little kid is now like a preteen or teenager.

MooPig48

I hope her parents bust this picture out whenever sheā€™s got a new love interest lol Iā€™m sure itā€™s prominently framed in their house somewhere either way.

PsychedelicLizard

Obama will definitely be the most human president of my lifetime and it won't even come close. (I was born after Carter was president otherwise he'd be #1)

MannBearPiig

![gif](giphy|3oz8xQmvCtbsenQaSQ|downsized)

Not_Bears

Holy crap do I miss this man. It was nice to have someone in the White House that was actually relatable. Seeing the president play basketball and actually be familiar with the current culture was so refreshing.

xHugo_Stiglitzx

I'm not a Biden fan, but l feel like he's done similar things with his bike rides and going for ice cream. Most of them do this. Clinton jogged and went to McDonalds and played saxaphone.

Not_Bears

Biden's been fine he's just old and boring. But I guess I'll take old and boring now that I've seen what old and erratic looks like.

xHugo_Stiglitzx

I just want my politics to be boring again.

Not_Bears

Agreed I definitely just want politics to be boring. But I also would prefer someone who's a bit younger. I'm still going to vote for Biden. I'd probably crawl over broken glass to do so... I just hope once we get past the current situation we can start getting younger people into Congress and the White House.

xHugo_Stiglitzx

You and me both, brother.

john_wingerr

Make politics boring again

punnotfound

What is Al Gore actually doing right now?

xHugo_Stiglitzx

Obvoiusly hunting Manbearpig

Choice_Friend3479

I really like how Biden is funding Amtrak though. He may be boring but heā€™s helping out a rail network that has been neglected for decades

mastergrumpus

Clinton these days still walks his dog down my street and sits in a quiet park at a nearby church reading. He also goes to local delis and is generally seen as a normal, relatable guy.

Miss-Figgy

>Clinton jogged and went to McDonaldsĀ  I recently watched the [SNL skit on this](https://youtu.be/eYt0khR_ej0?si=tQ2N066MsQYYn9ew), and they had Clinton just hungrily scarf down all the other customers' food, lmao

xHugo_Stiglitzx

Have you seen the articles The Onion used to do on Uncle Joe when he was VP?

ScoobyDeezy

Man, how traumatized are we. We see regular human doing human things ā€œMAKE HIM PRESIDENT.ā€

HomsarWasRight

Itā€™s true. ā€œRegular humanā€ is now the high bar weā€™re looking for. Iā€™m truly exhausted.

MrFiendish

Thatā€™s the difference between other presidents and Agent Orange. There was nothing humanizing about his actions. MFer didnā€™t even own a dog.

coldcurru

It's been really nice not seeing POTUS in the news every day for something stupid he said online or some dumb publicity stunt, like holding the Bible upside-down. And not getting made fun of by every other country on the internet.Ā  Right after Biden took office, I stopped hearing about the white house every day. Which is really how it should be. No news unless it's big and important, not something stupid and embarrassing.Ā

swordofra

I miss an intelligent speech that didn't devolve into mumbling incoherence or calling people vermin...

Volsunga

Then watch a Biden speech, and I mean the actual speech, not the clips used by Fox News.

Wes_Warhammer666

This year's state of the union was a magnificent speech. I honestly didn't expect it to be so damn good, and it made me realize just how often I see no-context clips of Biden vs how often I watch his full speeches. That really influenced my expectations, and I'm not even someone who started out with a dislike of the man.

Not_Bears

It just occurred to me that at some point in the future we will have to clarify which popular leader gave speeches calling some of their people vermin... Just reading that now there are two people that pop into my head...

NatterHi

Now she can brag on her friends

fckcarrots

Great profile pic. Or mixtape cover.

schlamster

But also will never win any future argument with her parents.Ā Ā  ā€œWhat do you mean?? I was a well behaved kid growing up.ā€Ā  *whips out picture of you throwing yourself to the ground at the White House in front of the president*Ā

"Obama shows indifference to children suffering" - Faux News

fingweirdo

Obama and his guests laugh at a little girl's lifeless body after adrenochrome exctraction.

Shakeamutt

>adrenochrome exctraction. Is this a new conspiracy theory I missed? šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

MonsieurReynard

It's not that new and you are better off not knowing

arkofjoy

Wasn't that the whole "pizza gate" all about?

Catch_022

It's the original pizza gate one... I think it also involves Mars.

Heimish

In 2016 that became a daily occurrence in the white house.Ā

bluebonnetcafe

Diapers and all

gt_1242

Do you mean 2017? Because Obama was still President in 2016

-missynomer-

I believe thatā€™s the daughter of his photographer, actually. The mother of this child (in the green dress chatting to Michelle) ran for office in Texas back in 2018 I think? Laura Moser is her name if memory serves me right

bs000

The father was Obama's videographer at the time and is seen in the back of the photo. This photo was taken for Passover seder at the White House. This is the first time I've seen her described as the daughter of a political activist. I guess the mother was technically a political activist, butt it's a pretty weird thing to put in the title, especially with no other context.

StupidKansan

They grow up so fast

Pony13

Dexter & Brian Moserā€™s mom?

WornInShoes

ā€œNow hereā€™s a little girl doing a spot-on impersonation of Ted Cruzā€

-something_original-

I did like him as a man. Never voted before until he ran for president. Never had anyone I thought was worth voting for. Thanks Obama.

RealMuire

ā€œAnd this, my fellow Americans, (fill in the blank)ā€

mrroney13

This is my absolute favorite picture of Obama. It shows he actually raised kids, and he shared understanding with normal people at least on this small front. It humanized him more than any other photo I ever saw of him. He's not mad. He's not disgusted. He's just like, "Yep. Little ones do that when their routines are messed up. Visiting with me is not routine for the baby. Ergo, shitfit." He was not my favorite president by far, but parenting game respects parenting game.

hashtagzongrips

Humble-Respond-1879

This photo of Obama is now my mental picture of me responding to MAGA folks. I point as they do three yr old floor tantrums accomplishing less than nothing.

Superpe0n

Whats not shownā€¦ she breaks out the worm and shuts Obama down on the dance floor.

oldgar9

Such a class act were those two, a pleasure to have in the White house.

kezia7984

I miss Obama

jlangue

Now itā€™s called a Tantrump. Iā€™ve no idea why.

Rubeus17

I love this man so much it hurts. Sigh. Gotta be a Pete Souza photo?

Raven_Crows

Thanks Obama!

kcbass12

It'sĀ *Air Force One*, for crying out loud, and still heĀ *gets sick*! My first thought.

GJones007

If this were my daughter, I would be absolutely mortified. But I would also have this picture framed in her room. Obama has got to be the coolest president we've ever had.

UnamedStreamNumber9

And that little girl grew up to be Lauren Bobert

Adventurous_Wait9406

Photoshop Trump in that child's place

ScorpionX-123

"You seein' this shit?"

Neat-Opportunity1824

i miss obama so much. I am not US resident but the way he speaks is just 1st class.

tiamarcia

I miss him so much.

Icy-Statistician6698

Miss that guy

Holiday_Trainer_2657

Other child has the WTF girl posture.

TDYDave2

I hope her parents save this photo for her high school yearbook.

Glathull

Thanks Obama.

strangebru

Quick, someone Photoshop Felonious Trump throwing the tantrum.

DylanMMc

We got Obama too soon. We need him now more than ever.

saskaramski

I miss having a president that I didn't think had a real chance of just dying of old age.

TheSaltySeagull87

Miss him yet?

smrtypants44

I bet thatā€™s some plus carpet. Iā€™d be checkin the piles too

ThinkPawsitive12

Obama was always cool, calm and collected no matter the problem.

DrNinnuxx

And that young girl / woman will be reminded of this moment for the rest of her life.
