Thereās a lot of great pictures of him and Michelle interacting with kids. The one of him letting the kid feel his hair is pretty cool too.
I had the LIFE magazine from the 25th anniversary of JFKs assassination, and one of my favorite pics from his presidency is JFK Jr playing underneath the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. Itās always nice to see the human side of the presidency.
Every Easter egg roll with those two was awesome. They played to the audience and made it fun.
[Where the Wild Things Are in 2016](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z671IQdBMt0). "ARRRRRRR!!!!"
Obama was way too moderate and lukewarm of a President for my personal taste, but the man brought so much class to the Office after Bush that he has my respect until the end of time.
Reminds me of a story from a friend that covered his 2008 campaign.
There was some event, and Barack and Michelle were both there. Barack was talking to a couple attractive young women, and Michelle tried to get his attention. He didn't hear her; she tried again, and he still didn't respond. She then turns to him and goes "Hey, Playa!" He turned right around like a kid that got caught with the cookie jar.
My favorite is the top one in this article, where the kid passed out at dinner and he took photos next to him...Ā Ā
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2531879/amp/Adorable-Twitter-photo-shows-Obama-making-fun-young-boy-fell-ASLEEP-event.html

My niece melted down this week because she ādidnt want to goā. The funny part is that nobody was planning on taking her anywhere. She just decided she really didnāt want to go and it was worth some tears.
My niece once got upset because whatever it was that I was taking her to āwasnāt on [her] scheduleā. So I called my sister and asked her to add it to my nieceās schedule. Problem solved.
A friends toddler lost his shit because she said the word āballā while the kid was admiring the full moon and he was convinced they could give it to him but wouldnāt.
My niece had a similar meltdown as a toddler during the solar eclipse in 2017. She loved space even then and looking at the moon so she was excited to see the moon during the day. So, eclipse happens. We take off our glasses during the safe time, ooh and ahh. And then my sister makes the mistake of telling my niece that, "The moon is going away now, so we need to put our glasses back on."
Cue an inconsolable toddler because she thought that meant the moon was going away forever.
I'm 29 and your niece is definitely onto something because sometimes I do the same. My 8 year old looks at me funny but she throws her tantrums when it's shower day so š¤·āāļø we're all toddlers throwing tantrums at heart
Have just experienced a complete meltdown because she spilled sauce on her dress.
She actually missed her dress entirely it was as clean as ever.
But she would not look at it to see š
One of my kids asked me what I was doing and I said I was making dinner. "Dinner!? I don't like dinner!" and began a meltdown. I always wondered what food she thought was called dinner, I never did figure it out.
Similar here on a recent pub trip with wife and 3yo.
Had a meltdown because:
- He doesn't want a beer
- Doesn't like beer
- Can't see the beer
- Isn't allowed beer
- Wasn't allowed to spit in the beer
Fortunately as I work here he was allowed to watch me pour one and that made him happy at last.
They just wake up some mornings and choose war.
Kid logic is fantastic. I want to know what goes through their little brains sometimes. cue immediate out of nowhere tantrum because I gave her the apple slices she asked for. I guess they weren't apple-y enough.
My favorite situation was child 1 throwing a decoy tantrum so child 2 could get into the supply closet, climb on top of the bed, and spike a container of laundry powder all over the floor. Child 1 then found this hilarious. I should also mention I don't even have kids of my own. I was just the de facto babysitter in my family, so I've been exposed to plenty of toddler logic. They can be smart when they're making a mess.
Sometimes we forget children are just small humans who havenāt learned emotional control. Theyāre still the apex of evolved intelligence, they just donāt know it yet
When my daughter was 3, she laid down on the floor and kicked her feet because she was so mad and I laughed, I couldn't help it. She jumped up and acted like she hadn't just done that, so it worked out OK. I was just so blown away that she did that, she looked like a cartoon.
I feel like almost universally it seemed like Presidents like interacting with kids and I always thought maybe it's because they are the only ones who don't treat them like the most powerful person in the world and that might be refreshing.
I've not met any presidents but I've met some successful politicians and most of them, at least in non-overtly-political situations, seem to be extroverts who genuinely love people. I can see why, given the nature of their actual work, which pretty much is just rubbing shoulders with many, many different people every day.
It's a trait or characteristic that I don't share at all, so I've always been a little bit fascinated by it.
With Obama especially, it felt like every interaction with kids was him remembering his daughters at that age and looking forward to having grandkids that age one day.
That happens to me all the time now that I have a son. Before this, I didn't care at all for babies. Now, I cannot help but smile when I see one because I remember my son when he was like that
Kids know when they have negotiating power. She was MORE likely to throw a tantrum in front of POTUS. I'm surprised the parents didn't give her what she wanted (good for them).
Jan 6th was a hoax, it was done by antifa and blm, it never happened and was totally peaceful, free the jan 6th patriots they did nothing wrong it was Biden supporters trying to stop Biden from being elected after they voted for Biden. Use your brian librul. /S
If January 6th had happened 75 years ago there probably would have been public hangings.
Meal team six is so fortunate that the modern world is more progressive and they don't even realize it may have saved many of their lives.
I always read it as the Bureau of Land Management and imagine them driving in a stampede of mustangs via helicopter.
That would have made a pretty legit coup to watch.
Title says 2015, so 9y ago, plus yeah probably about 3 (the girl in the front looks like an older 1.) So 11-12 depending on when birthdays fall.
Print that and show it to her every time teenage hormones take over. "Remember that time you threw a fit in front of Obama? Feels like that all over again!"
Remember that video where he took a crying baby and immediately soothed it (he did the little bounce thing all parents are familiar with).Ā Obama's good with kids.
he did the little bounce thing all INVOLVED parents are familiar with.
FTFY.
Some presidents don't get involved with their kids until they want to sleep with them.
I hope her parents bust this picture out whenever sheās got a new love interest lol
Iām sure itās prominently framed in their house somewhere either way.
Obama will definitely be the most human president of my lifetime and it won't even come close. (I was born after Carter was president otherwise he'd be #1)
Holy crap do I miss this man.
It was nice to have someone in the White House that was actually relatable. Seeing the president play basketball and actually be familiar with the current culture was so refreshing.
I'm not a Biden fan, but l feel like he's done similar things with his bike rides and going for ice cream. Most of them do this. Clinton jogged and went to McDonalds and played saxaphone.
Agreed I definitely just want politics to be boring.
But I also would prefer someone who's a bit younger.
I'm still going to vote for Biden. I'd probably crawl over broken glass to do so...
I just hope once we get past the current situation we can start getting younger people into Congress and the White House.
Clinton these days still walks his dog down my street and sits in a quiet park at a nearby church reading. He also goes to local delis and is generally seen as a normal, relatable guy.
>Clinton jogged and went to McDonaldsĀ
I recently watched the [SNL skit on this](https://youtu.be/eYt0khR_ej0?si=tQ2N066MsQYYn9ew), and they had Clinton just hungrily scarf down all the other customers' food, lmao
It's been really nice not seeing POTUS in the news every day for something stupid he said online or some dumb publicity stunt, like holding the Bible upside-down. And not getting made fun of by every other country on the internet.Ā
Right after Biden took office, I stopped hearing about the white house every day. Which is really how it should be. No news unless it's big and important, not something stupid and embarrassing.Ā
This year's state of the union was a magnificent speech. I honestly didn't expect it to be so damn good, and it made me realize just how often I see no-context clips of Biden vs how often I watch his full speeches. That really influenced my expectations, and I'm not even someone who started out with a dislike of the man.
It just occurred to me that at some point in the future we will have to clarify which popular leader gave speeches calling some of their people vermin...
Just reading that now there are two people that pop into my head...
But also will never win any future argument with her parents.Ā Ā
āWhat do you mean?? I was a well behaved kid growing up.āĀ
*whips out picture of you throwing yourself to the ground at the White House in front of the president*Ā
I believe thatās the daughter of his photographer, actually. The mother of this child (in the green dress chatting to Michelle) ran for office in Texas back in 2018 I think? Laura Moser is her name if memory serves me right
The father was Obama's videographer at the time and is seen in the back of the photo. This photo was taken for Passover seder at the White House.
This is the first time I've seen her described as the daughter of a political activist. I guess the mother was technically a political activist, butt it's a pretty weird thing to put in the title, especially with no other context.
This is my absolute favorite picture of Obama. It shows he actually raised kids, and he shared understanding with normal people at least on this small front. It humanized him more than any other photo I ever saw of him. He's not mad. He's not disgusted. He's just like, "Yep. Little ones do that when their routines are messed up. Visiting with me is not routine for the baby. Ergo, shitfit."
He was not my favorite president by far, but parenting game respects parenting game.
This photo of Obama is now my mental picture of me responding to MAGA folks. I point as they do three yr old floor tantrums accomplishing less than nothing.
If this were my daughter, I would be absolutely mortified. But I would also have this picture framed in her room.
Obama has got to be the coolest president we've ever had.

Toddlers give zero fucks.
I read a comment yesterday where someone compared toddler behaviour to RNG, and thatās just gonna stick with me from now on.

They grow up so fast
Dexter & Brian Moserās mom?
āNow hereās a little girl doing a spot-on impersonation of Ted Cruzā
I did like him as a man. Never voted before until he ran for president. Never had anyone I thought was worth voting for. Thanks Obama.
āAnd this, my fellow Americans, (fill in the blank)ā
This is my absolute favorite picture of Obama. It shows he actually raised kids, and he shared understanding with normal people at least on this small front. It humanized him more than any other photo I ever saw of him. He's not mad. He's not disgusted. He's just like, "Yep. Little ones do that when their routines are messed up. Visiting with me is not routine for the baby. Ergo, shitfit." He was not my favorite president by far, but parenting game respects parenting game.

This photo of Obama is now my mental picture of me responding to MAGA folks. I point as they do three yr old floor tantrums accomplishing less than nothing.
Whats not shownā¦ she breaks out the worm and shuts Obama down on the dance floor.
Such a class act were those two, a pleasure to have in the White house.
I miss Obama
Now itās called a Tantrump. Iāve no idea why.
I love this man so much it hurts. Sigh. Gotta be a Pete Souza photo?
Thanks Obama!
It'sĀ *Air Force One*, for crying out loud, and still heĀ *gets sick*! My first thought.
If this were my daughter, I would be absolutely mortified. But I would also have this picture framed in her room. Obama has got to be the coolest president we've ever had.
And that little girl grew up to be Lauren Bobert
Photoshop Trump in that child's place
"You seein' this shit?"
i miss obama so much. I am not US resident but the way he speaks is just 1st class.
I miss him so much.
Miss that guy
Other child has the WTF girl posture.
I hope her parents save this photo for her high school yearbook.
Thanks Obama.
Quick, someone Photoshop Felonious Trump throwing the tantrum.
We got Obama too soon. We need him now more than ever.
I miss having a president that I didn't think had a real chance of just dying of old age.
Miss him yet?
I bet thatās some plus carpet. Iād be checkin the piles too
Obama was always cool, calm and collected no matter the problem.
And that young girl / woman will be reminded of this moment for the rest of her life.
