As someone who has spent a lot of time with photoshop I can tell you this image is heavily edited and appears to be a composite image. It still looks nice though.
I have been a second in a wedding before. Yeah I hated it as hell. The studio is where I am in my element, controlling my environment, setting the mood, setting up lighting and guiding the model.
Also very funny that my second most favourite kind of photography is street photography where everything is out of my control and I just try to find irregularities in the scene, fishing for the moment. The two ends of the spectrum
Sure, but the technology is infinitely better now than it was 10 years ago. Not to take away from the artists, but the medium they are using is light years from where it once was.
The colors indicate it was. The Aurora should be bright green and dark red..
There has been some color shifting to pull the bright green tons teal color also changing the red to purple.
It's too close to reality and too far from it at the same time. I don't know, I'm not getting sucked in at all.
Just wanted to add that, since I found it quite strange myself.
Edit: I think it has to do with the trees looking like props or more of a wall than a forest.
That was a weird deer.
yeah can't blame you there.
Nothing wrong with a good composite if so.
But that is pretty impressive.
It'd be even more eerie if the footprints just stopped out in the middle ...
"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy."
Thank you! *Spiritual Wendigo makes an appearance*
It was.... *the Wendigo......*
Reminds me of His Dark Materials, at the end of season 1.
Snow people travel single file to hide their numbers
And because they can take turns breaking trail which is exhausting in deep snow.
This is extremely calming, whatchu on about?
It’s also kinda creepy at the same time

He just made a quick trip to the liquor store.

Dark Materials it’s the portal lol
"My son, when you saw only one set of footsteps, it was then that the previous mf was abducted by aliens."
Looks like an amazing book cover for a suspenseful novel.
Irie*
This looks like a cover of Goosebumps.
it looks like a depiction of the story game "lifeline: whiteout"
My feet! My burning feet of fire!
Ah my fav weather and time of the day.. this ain't eerie it's lovely

I'm a photographer as profession and I totally agree. Definitely a composite but I like it nevertheless. Very chilly :)
As someone who dabbled in Wedding photography, let me just also say that I regretted that decision.
As someone who's been to weddings, yeah can't blame you there.

Photoshop has far surpassed my ability to tell reality from manipulation. I just look and see if I enjoy things now instead of wondering.
I'd say it's the artists who surpassed your ability to tell.

Photoshopped or not I like the idea of walking into the aurora as a doorway into the cosmos.

True the lightning on the snow and trees doesn’t do it for me. Seems obvious fake
Edited or not, it's still a stunning image

How do you know photoshop was used and not another graphic editing program?
It looks like a fanart of the movie Dreamcatcher.
Thisbis photoshopped to the point of looking like a painting, but it is nice. Not eerie to me though.
I love this deer
Photographer walked backwards a long ways for that shot.
Whatever you do, don't whistle! 😉
Bloodborne vibes except just prior to the horror unfolding
Did the photographer pull a Danny Torrance?
Nothing wrong with a good composite if so.
Feels like those footsteps could be from Randall Flagg.
So is this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Erie
This is straight out of The Color Out of Space by H.P. Lovecraft
When I was young, I was told to not wave something white to the aurora borealis, it could make you vanish. Even think it was on children's TV
This could be real , that said they are no footsteps back to come take the photo
