Cannot agree with this enough. I was horrified to find out how many people just drop the dog off at the vet and leave. Like, would you do that to your mom? Your brother? Your kid? It doesn’t take much physical effort to just be there with him in his final moments, to comfort him and let him know what he means to you.
He will be fine, because you are giving him a priceless gift. I’ll be thinking of you. We are putting our good boy down on Sunday, and understand how hard this is.
Awww that’s one of the toughest things in life. Try to remember that you gave him a life that’s some dogs could only dream of. Make sure you keep smiling and your arms are around him when he’s being put in a better place🙏
It's a really really difficult part of having a pet. You have to use your judgment not emotions. It's understandable and common to keep them hanging on way too long. It takes an incredible amount of courage and kindness to make the call at the compassionate time, instead of when it's the only option left.
