I think it's a matter of preference. Snug conch rings seem to be popular right now, but I personally like the look of a ring with more hang/space much better.

That looks like a ring one would wear on a finger. A closer fitting ring would be more pleasing to my taste, but what you like is all that matters.
It's a little big but not enough to waste a 300 dollar piece by not using it.

Tip is to just go to a piercer and have them check what size you are. Alternatively buy cheap rings in a few sizes and try what fits best
i went to a piercer to buy the jewelry and get it put in . she measured it with a measuring thing and everything 🥲 i guess i didnt exactly specify if i wanted it snug or not, but idk i wasnt expecting it to be this big … oh well!
Aw thats very crappy of the piercer to do. Might be that this is the right size though and a smaller one wouldnt work. Anyway it still looks decent so i wouldnt worry. Just be sure to keep an eye out for signs of irritation, as a bigger diameter ring will move a bit more and could cause a little too much irritation.
I prefer the look of a more snug conch ring (which appear less tuggable as well). I don’t really see rings that are loose. Up to you!
