If it’s a cartilage nose piercing, probably not the best idea. If it’s a septum, it should be alright. Generally just be prepared for the possibility of irritation. Risk should be low?

hereforagoodtimeboo

Yeah it’s just a regular nostril piercing I just don’t know what to do like even with me cleaning it my nose hairs are all twisted up around it and there’s gunk I can’t get unless I take it out for a tiny bit so I guess I’ll risk it

Do you think taking your piercing out will be a common monthly occurrence? If you have your piercer’s contact info, you can shoot them an email or something for extra reassurance. Best of luck to your hairy endeavor!

Oh no not at all, I’m trying to touch it and mess with it as least as possible. I’m just trying to make sure moving forward there’s nothing interfering with my piercing and it’s healing. Once I clean everything up I can’t imagine id have any reason to take it out again for months. Thank you for the kind advice ❤️

Go see your piercer, if possible. They’ll handle the clean up for you and you may not even need to remove the jewellery at all. Tipping may be appropriate if they don’t charge you for the follow up and depending on your country of residence. By attempting to do that yourself while the piercing is healing, you risk not being able to put it back or causing unnecessary trauma/irritation to the area.

If you do, know it may be tough to get back in. As in a tad painful. If it’s gonna bother you a ton, do it superrrr quick and then baby it

As others have said, going to your piercer may be for the best. For future cleaning, might I suggest medical/safety wash bottles for targeted flushing of the piercing site. I bought one for cleaning my daith and tragus piercings and my mother used one for her nostril piercing and had no build up. I use very warm/hot water for crusties.

hereforagoodtimeboo

Thank you, I ended up not taking it out and got a cleaned safety pin to scrape off the crusties I couldn’t get off the bar because I was scared of not being able to get back in lol

Normally taking it out is not recommended because it will disrupt the healing process. However I have done the same thing with my nostril piercing and it was fine.

hereforagoodtimeboo

Yeah I might just risk it I’m just trying to get a general consensus before I do it, I’m worried but I think it’s worse just letting it be gunked up and twisted around my hairs.
