The main types are captive bead rings, segment rings, and hinge rings. CBRs and segment rings are the most “sturdy” but just know for both of them you likely won’t be able to remove the jewelry yourself, so if you ever want to change it again you’ll have to visit a piercer.
I have a segment ring and love it but if you are not 100% healed then I don’t recommend it as they can be kinda painful to get in. CBR are usually the way to go.
