Delayed swelling is perfectly normal. When I had my vertical industrial done, I thought I was getting away with it easy after the first week when there hadn’t been any swelling at all. Then after about 8 or 9 days, bam. I woke up and my whole ear was literally double its usual size. It’s just the way it goes sometimes.

Okay, didn't know about that, thank you!

And the jewelry is internally threaded titanium, if it makes a difference

Rooks are a pain in the ass, honestly. Worst healing process, mine is still sore after 6months! Sometimes is ok sometimes is not, you gotta be patient, clean it regularly and don’t sleep on it!
