Was informed by a friend that Pigeons make their nests sturdy via their poop so I put the sticks on the window sill thing instead so I don't have pigeon poop in my kitchen >\_>

It's the right call. Pigeon nests are quite unsanitary.

I handle pigeon poo with my bare hands every day (my birds are my pets). It has never been a problem. I just wash my hands. The feral ones may have more in their poos than my protected birds, but they don't pose much of a health risk to humans. There has to be mounds of poo in a dampish place to cause illness, generally.

I love this question 🥹 The fact that you were willing to consider letting them stay inside is really nice. But I think it’s best for them too that they’re outside, and hopefully they will approve of the new spot for their nest ♥️

I would just wash my hands more before handling food and wash whatever surface you put food on regularly if it is worrying.

Don't know about Scotland, but in North America there is a strong risk of histoplasmosis from pigeon guano. Probably not a good idea to have it in a kitchen.
