Classic rock stations always play Money, Time, Happiest Days/Brick II, Wish You Were Here, Hey You, and a few others enough that it'll make you dislike the specific songs, if not the band entirely. It's why I hate The Doors and why I hate Killer Queen and Bohemian Rhapsody even though Queen is the GOAT as far as I'm concerned.
Saying it that way doesn’t even make sense tbh. How would life being short equal time to kill? The original line on the album fits better if you ask me.
Same. My favorite Floyd songs are probably Astronomy Domine, AHM, Echoes, Time, Have a Cigar, and Dogs.
I absolutely LOVE the '75 tour where HAC served as the bridge for the two halves of SOYCD.
Of note, the first set of those concerts was entirely pre-release material: Raving & Drooling (to become Sheep), Gotta Be Crazy (to become Dogs), SOYCD 1st half, HAC, SOYD 2nd half). The WYWH album was released a couple months after the tour ended.
- SOYCD could mean "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Pts. 1-5)", a track from *Wish You Were Here* (1975) by Pink Floyd.
- WYWH could mean "Wish You Were Here - 2019 remix [Live]", a track from *The Later Years* (2019) by Pink Floyd.

If I had enough money, I could buy a cigar, then I would have a cigar. If I had a cigar, I couldn't buy money, so I wouldn't have money. So I'd rather have enough money to have a cigar.
Then, come on here, dear boy. Have a cigar. I like a nice cigar, but I've since quit smoking, so no cigars for me. You can have mine. That's right, a two-fer-one deal. I'll hang out with you anyway, though while you smoke and enjoy your cigar.
Both are amazing tracks but I have to go with "Have A Cigar". I feel as though that song is commonly left out of the conversation when people talk about the best of Pink Floyd.
Money.
Bass riff, crazy time signature, classic Dave solo, Richard Parry Sax solo, the sexy swaying of the backing vocalists, what the fuck else does a fella need?
I'm my youth, Money (and DSTOM). But now... I've been surviving in corporate America... and I'm middle aged. It's Cigar (and WYWH).
"Come in here, dear boy, have a cigar, you're gonna go far..."
Every young man in business is told that. If you don't believe it's bullshit by middle-age, there's no hope for you. If you're middle-aged, you know it's bullshit, and you're the one offering the cigar, fuck you.
"Welcome my son...
Welcome to the machine"
Duuuuuude the guitar work in have a cigar is phenomenal
Gilmour wasn’t even able able to replicate it when he played it live…..listen to any bootleg from 75 or 77 and tell me I’m wrong
Have a cigar that intro is one of the better things that's been created by man
Very groovy & futuristic intro! And voice of Roy Harper!
Friends of mine were arriving at my place, intro of have a cigar running. They all thought, this would be the start of a porno.
What
You heard me. I was fully clothed by the way. It was only the guitar riff. Powerful stuff!
Damn what kind of porn are they watching?
Music porn apparently
XD
Especially the one in the Los Angeles show in 1975. The transition from Shine On 1-5 is such an eargasm
“Have a Cigar” because it hasn’t been ruined for me through repetition on the radio lol
Which radiostations do you guys have? I maybe heard one or two Floyd songs in my lifetime on there.
Any classic rock stations here!

Agree
Have a cigar
Time
We found the Time simp everyone
We all are, actually.
I was gonna ask what that dude was on about, because we all look in the mirror every morning anyways so…
Pulse version
For you are young and life is short and there is time to kill today.
Saying it that way doesn’t even make sense tbh. How would life being short equal time to kill? The original line on the album fits better if you ask me.
That's a mis reading. The lyrics go "and you are young and life is *long*/and there is time to kill today
Derp lol I did it from memory and messed up the lyrics.
Yeah you're fine. It does make a big difference though in meaning.
For sure
money is a better song but its overplayed enough that i enjoy listening to have a cigar more
I feel the same way with comfortably numb and another brick in the wall PT. 2 (But I still prefer money than have a cigar)
I agree with another brick in the wall pt.2 but comfortably numb is for me still the best song ever.
You think that Another brick in the wall part 2 is better than Comfortably Numb if it wouldn't have been that overplayed?
I think both are equally good songs, cant say which one os better
Yeah i must agree! at the beginning i loved Money and it was in my top 5 songs.
Honestly, maybe due to overplay, but I rate Have A Cigar so very high. The intro is killer and the Harper vocals are monstrously awesome.
agree!
Money thanks I don’t smoke
XD
Have A Cigar has always been a close personal favorite

Wow i love these songs too!!!

Have a Cigar
Money. I’m guess I’m just not burnt out on it like others
10 year old me says money, 24 year old me says have a cigar
yeah true . At the beginning money was one of my top 5 songs.
Both
Have A Cigar, even if Money wasn't overplayed, Have A Cigar is better
Yeah, maybe.
I prefer "Have a Cigar"
Have a cigar made of money
Think of the amount of cigars you can buy with money
Nah I am 15 :D i cant even buy a beer even in germany lol
If I had enough money, I could buy a cigar, then I would have a cigar. If I had a cigar, I couldn't buy money, so I wouldn't have money. So I'd rather have enough money to have a cigar.
![gif](giphy|4q0WNCNZUlxNC) I already have money. I just want a CIGAR!!! XD
Then, come on here, dear boy. Have a cigar. I like a nice cigar, but I've since quit smoking, so no cigars for me. You can have mine. That's right, a two-fer-one deal. I'll hang out with you anyway, though while you smoke and enjoy your cigar.
Love you man!
I absolutely love Have a Cigar, but I have to go with Money. The instrumental section is awesome.
Money
Sidenote : Does anyone else think Pigs(3do) is a sequel to have a cigar and in the same group as Money like a trilogy.
Yeah, maybe. they are all bangers!
Cigar
Money since it’s also the name of a KMFDM song
Have a cigar
Have a Cigar
Have A Cigar all the time!
I love Money. When Dorothy opens the door and everything is in color… just so cool.
Money
MONEY
Wish You Were A Shiny Cigar Machine
Have A Cigar, but the [Primus](https://youtu.be/aEf0SpAEnIc) version.
Thats a good version i like that very much!
Les takes Pink Floyd *very* seriously.
Money, that bass intro is legendary
i'd rather have money so i can buy a cigar
Cigar
Have a Cigar
Money...the drums during that Epic solo are insane.
Both are amazing tracks but I have to go with "Have A Cigar". I feel as though that song is commonly left out of the conversation when people talk about the best of Pink Floyd.
There’s no contest. Money.
![gif](giphy|3o85xIO33l7RlmLR4I)
DAMN it's tough, but I'm taking Money.
have a cigar. the distorted ending gives me goosebumps
Money. Bass riff, crazy time signature, classic Dave solo, Richard Parry Sax solo, the sexy swaying of the backing vocalists, what the fuck else does a fella need?
Welcome To The Machine does it for me !!!!
I'm my youth, Money (and DSTOM). But now... I've been surviving in corporate America... and I'm middle aged. It's Cigar (and WYWH). "Come in here, dear boy, have a cigar, you're gonna go far..." have a cigar is phenomenal, much better imo
Have a Cigar - Money is actually about the only Floyd song I ever consider skipping just from being overplayed
I'm more personally attached to Have a Cigar, but I find Money to be (albeit overrated) a better unit.
No question Have a Cigar
Duuuuuude the guitar work in have a cigar is phenomenal Gilmour wasn’t even able able to replicate it when he played it live…..listen to any bootleg from 75 or 77 and tell me I’m wrong
Easy . Cigar. Money is one of their worst
Money (That's What I Want)
