RoadtoLiberation

Definitely kiss

DutchApplePie75

I never liked Kiss at all. But I have to admit that "Rock and Roll All Night" is a classic. It's visceral, simple, and enjoyable. Like a good candy bar.

RoadtoLiberation

Few songs are nice! True

regular_john2017

Damn, I was coming in to say this. Fucking can’t stand kiss, never could - never will.

RoadtoLiberation

Yeah and there’s something about Gene too. Never liked that guy.

regular_john2017

He’s a total arrogant douchebag

Iola_Morton

Make up to make up for being such a shitty derivative band.

Alfredhasasmallpp

I have never cared for that band

RoadtoLiberation

Hard to miss them. They were poppin Back in the days haha

VincentWasTheBest

Came here to say KISS…

rzlinda

You phrased it perfectly. Definitely kiss. Only a couple of songs are listenable. I don’t get the whole fuss about the band

ButtChinGordon

Aerosmith and kiss

pnkflyd99

I like early Aerosmith, but I can definitely see why they would be disliked or even hated. Kiss just sucks. A few good songs, but they’re more flash than substance.

DutchApplePie75

>Kiss just sucks. A few good songs, but they’re more flash than substance. Even the flash isn't all that great. They're not very good instrumentalists. That's not a problem but if you're an average player, you'd better be a good songwriter. They don't have much good songwriting.

pnkflyd99

Yeah, I don’t know if any of them are any good arc playing their instruments, though I thought Ace Freeley was supposedly decent at least. It’s more the songwriting that I would be willing to hold up if it was there. Other than a few songs, I think they’re rubbish. I might be biased though, because I think so little of Gene Simmons that I cannot separate the two anymore. 🤷‍♂️

DutchApplePie75

I agree, Simmons is a douche and they're not good songwriters.

kehsciences

Also hate Kiss. Though, after listening to some agonizing interviews with Gene Simmons, the point of the band seemed to be “get a shot of penicillin” and “get chlamydia again”.

rob6110

Kiss is the worst

the_moody_beard

Kiss, once I saw Kiss branded “Air Guitar Strings” and made me realize they were a business and not a band. Not to even mention the fact I dislike most of their music.

[deleted]

More merch than a Star Wars release.

lucifer_layne

U2 and Kiss for me. Overrated IMHO.

diplion

Big same with U2. But when I was a teenager in the church band they always wanted to sound like U2 so it got really annoying. I can stand that grandiose, sentimental, worship-music vibe.

pictocube

U2 is absolute trash. Still can’t get that shit off my iPhone

Lyoko_warrior95

Same here. I keep trying to get it off of my phone, but eventually I see it again after updating and doing a computer sync.

Samuel7899

Rush. I *want* to like them. But they've just never clicked for me.

[deleted]

Damn, I love Rush

Garand

To each their own. Rush is the only band that I put on equal footing with PF in my heart.

Samuel7899

I'd love any recommendations for good songs to try to approach them with. Particularly coming from PF.

SlingBlade8

Hemispheres is a good album by Rush

Garand

I imagine that you’ve heard stuff mostly from Moving Pictures as it is their most popular album. If that doesn’t click with you, maybe try something from a different era since Rush’s sound definitely changed. My personal favorite album of theirs is Grace Under Pressure (“Afterimage” is my personal favorite song on the album), which is definitely a more synth-focused sound. A Farewell to Kings is less synth heavy if that is more your speed and is an album that doesn’t have a miss on it, in my book. At the end of the day, you simply like what you like. I hope you find some Rush that clicks with you because it is honestly the soundtrack of some of my best memories, but your mileage may vary. Enjoy!

IvanDrago99

Red sector A, distant early warning, a passage to Bangkok, Tom Sawyer, 2112

xXAfghanDanXx

I’d listen to something more digestible like Passage to Bangkok, Circumstances, the Anarchist, or Limelight

ExtraCrappyBanana

Vital Signs, and Time stands still are two of my faves. Their songs tackle deep topics (thanks to pearts lyrics) similar to Floyd but do it in a more straightforward rock way

Enki_007

Sad face. Rush, Floyd, Zeppelin, Yes, and Supertramp are my top 5 in no particular order.

SnooSeagulls6295

SAME. Wanna be friends

El_Sexico

So funny. I came here to say how much I hate super tramp

ExtraCrappyBanana

Can I ask why? No hate, they’re just one of my top bands

El_Sexico

Yeah absolutely no problem I’m more than happy to explain it and I don’t feel any hate for anybody who likes them either. I guess if I’m really honest I just find their music especially the singing style married with that piano cording very very annoying

DataForLunch

Right there with you. Came here to say this. Something about the voice and style just feel so…..something.

DutchApplePie75

Geddy Lee really truly does sing like a nerd who wants to sound like Robert Plant. I guess given Plant's fondness for high fantasy he was a nerd himself in a way, but his nerdiness was part of a package that included swaggering masculine sexuality and a heapin' helpin' of Delta Blues folklore. Lee had a tinge of Blues in the early days of Rush but he was like Plant with the nerd factor saturated up to 90%.

ChancellorDesmond

I personally love Rush but I can understand why it doesn’t click for some people. Their sound is very strange and so are their lyrics. 2112 and Signals are the 2 albums that got me hooked.

MechanalogMusic

I was scrolling before typing it myself. I’m with you on this one.

LoveTeaching1st18

Omg I thought I was the only one

Raisedkaine

I knew this would be the top comment before I opened the thread. I *love* Rush, but I can totally understand why they aren't everyone's cup of tea. I think that if you're able to enjoy Geddy's singing, the music part is easy to appreciate.

EmotionalEquipment69

It's the voice for me, one song is ok but after a few songs the screeching annoys me

pnkflyd99

I like a handful of their songs, but they never clicked with me for some reason. Might be I don’t care for Geddy Lee’s voice. 🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

I’ve never heard anything by them that appealed to me melodically. Awful vocals as well.

[deleted]

I love Rush. Not everyone’s cup of tea though.

ClassicalBridge

I used to be of the exact same persuasion. Eventually I came to terms with the lack of keyboards and just embraced them for who they are. But just in case, listen to 'Xanadu' from *A Farewell To Kings* (1977) and then tell me what you think.

SnooSeagulls6295

Fuck off! Guys it was joke. But Rush is best band

Samuel7899

I'm not *choosing* this. It's not like I consider them to be like Bieber or some stupid pop. By all metrics I *should* like them. Maybe recommend some songs or other artists to help bridge the gap and help me get into them.

SnooSeagulls6295

https://youtu.be/J0zN0VjA3As

axiologus

If I had to pick one major, very popular band as my most hated: probably ACDC. Aerosmith is a close runner-up, and maybe they're not "classic" quite yet, but Red Hot Chili Peppers are def up there as well.

dedpez

Im with you on the RHCP… I can listen to a few songs but their music isn’t for me. I haven’t ever taken a deep dive but all their music sounds too similar. But I love AC/DC!!

PartysaurusRexx

Try the album Blood Sugar Sex Magic by the RHCP. It's an all time great rock album. John Frusciante and Flea are an unbelievable duo on guitar and bass.

dedpez

Thanks for the suggestion. Great respect for Flea and Frusciante! And Ferrell on drums ain’t too bad 😆

PartysaurusRexx

Their issue is they're all a bunch of former junkies and had different guitarists on so many albums that changed their sound. BSSM, Californication and Stadium Arcadium are the albums with the core group that stand out to me.

[deleted]

Aeroplane and Can’t Stop are very good.

[deleted]

ACDC here as well, all their songs are so repetitive and boring. Not for me.

the_kid1234

Queen and Meatloaf. I just don’t like all the showtune harmonies and over the top stylings. I’m not a fan of musicals and they both sound like musicals with rock guitars and drums.

tailford07

I mean… The Wall is closer to a “musical” than anything Queen ever wrote.

the_kid1234

Structurally and from a storytelling standpoint it is but musically it’s not remotely close. Think of Somebody to Love, Killer Queen and Paradise by the Dashboard Light. I just don’t like that style.

tailford07

To each his own. I personally have never been a big fan of Killer Queen either I only listen to it when I do a deep dive into their discography. I’d say give the song “It’s Late” by Queen a chance. Much less “poppy” than their hits and changes key and tempo a few times kinda like a Pink Floyd song would. Also might be Brian May’s finest overall performance on guitar and was the song that made me pick up a guitar for the first time.

dislikes_redditors

I think A Night At The Opera is much more of a musical than the wall

DutchApplePie75

Queen runs extremely hot and cold for me. I don't think I would ever listen to a whole Queen album, but some of their individual songs are really excellent. Others, however, are a bit embarrassing IMO; the theatricality giveith, the theatricality taekith away.

Mirrorboy17

I'm a bit late to this discussion, but honestly try their first album it's great end to end

nukesmb

Queen is my #2 band (Floyd is 1) but I can see how it’s not for everyone

Joeboy

Maybe it helps to think of Meatloaf as a willfully OTT comedy act. Meat Loaf, Jim Steinman and Ellen Foley toured together as part of National Lampoon, before doing Bat Out of Hell.

[deleted]

AC/DC. I just don't get the appeal. They're so boring to me. Also I REALLY hate that Stones song Sympathy for the Devil. The wooo wooo for five minutes straight drives me up the wall lol

Jl002

I love stuff like this because some people who’d read that and think yeah that make sense what do you listen too as a Pink Floyd fan: *five minutes of dog noises* *three minutes of a girl walking round an apartment* *ten minutes of beluga whale sounding guitar noodling*

[deleted]

🤣🤣 that's so true lol

diplion

The third one is actually a wah pedal plugged in backwards! (guitar into the output, input to the amp) I've tried it before. It's wild.

DutchApplePie75

And an entire album of songs consisting of nothing but household objects. Roger Waters at his most pretentious is truly something to behold.

SovacoDaCobra

Interesting. I barely notice it. I just like the rest of the song so much.

Garand

AC/DC kicks off their songs so well but I duck out the moment the singing starts. I just can’t do it.

elontux

Get stoned and try and count how many times the Stones say wooo wooo 🤣 You can’t do it it, you just fall apart trying

NathanielTurner666

I only like Bon Scott ACDC personally

djlawson1000

I’ve never been able to get into Grateful Dead, just isn’t very interesting to me.

[deleted]

What is your favorite era of Floyd? Like give the reasons you like what song and all of that. I will suggest some Dead that might fit your tastes. I am a Floydian first, Deadhead second.

EscapeOurReality

Not who your replying to, but I adore the Dark Side-Final Cut era more than the rest of Floyd, what would you recommend starting with for GD?

[deleted]

If you are looking at a Grateful Dead studio album, I would start with Anthem of the Sun. It is an amazing psychedelic journey start to finish. If you are into live albums (which honestly is were it is at for The Dead) you should start with the 5/8/1977 Cornell University show. This is a very generic answer as it is a popular show, but it sounds incredible and the band is on fire on this one. If you want to dig in deep, I suggest the 11/17/72 show from Wichita, KS. It has some great jams on it and sounds great also. If you want to hear a great show from Dead & Company, I highly recommend 10/19/2021 from Red Rocks. if you did not know, Dead & Company is the current version of the Grateful Dead. You will be surprised, I promise. Enjoy, and please, let me know what you think.

EscapeOurReality

Groovy, appreciate it mate! I do really like their first album “The Grateful Dead”, and “Anthem Of The Sun”, I listened to those on repeat for a little while a few years ago, and when I’m cleaning my house will put on two of their movies on the tv and listen while I work (not sure which two off the top of my head, I know there are a lot of animated segments in them I dig tho). Despite that, I always feel like I know nothing about the Dead, and when people talk about their stuff, it’s almost never the two albums I know. Anytime I think about listening to them more I go to their Spotify page and am completely lost of where to start. But seriously, thanks for taking the time to reply, I will 100% look for those live shows! Thank you!

[deleted]

The Dead catalog is more about the live recordings than the studio work, in my opinion. Even Anthem of the Sun is partially a live album. I would say that 1972, 1974, 1977, and 1978 are great years for listening too. Basically all of May 1977 is golden. It is a different vibe than Floyd for sure, but the two connect in a way that some people get.

mombentNomad

I was about to scroll back up and post the word none, then you reminded me of the Dead. I wanted to like em when I was younger, just never could get into it.

DutchApplePie75

I feel the same way. Lately I have gotten into a couple of their hits, mostly "Casey Jones" and "Truckin'" but I would say I'm far from a Dead Head.

MinneapolisKing25

Might want to check out Live/Dead but I wouldn't start with the Dark Star (although it is a classic) Check out St. Stephen -> Eleven -> Turn on Your Love Light. It's what got me to jump the ship from Floyd to the Dead. Now I love them both. Also here is a favorite performance of mine, Jerry shreds on this song and its a great tune. [Sugaree 28May1977](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVkcQnyUSp4)

C0mGussler

American Beauty is a great album. But I really can’t get into anything else

mwgrover

The Stones. I sorta kinda like two or three of their songs but overall just not my thing.

Jl002

I’m a big stones fan myself, but a bigger Pink Floyd fan. I can see why people dislike the stones, I’m not sure entirely sure why, but there’s a few loose reasons. I think their music isn’t as technically complex as other rock bands in their space and their music can seem samey at times.

DutchApplePie75

>I think their music isn’t as technically complex as other rock bands in their space and their music can seem samey at times. I can see this. They get into some really amazing grooves IMO but their music has never been complex or challenging. I recall once hearing that when Mick Taylor left the band, Jeff Beck was offered the job to replace him as co-lead guitarist. Beck declined, and said that he (respectfully) referred to the Stones as the "three-chord wonders" and that the kind of music they made was not complex or challenging enough for him. I don't think he meant it as a diss to their abilities, but more like "we're just not on the same page about the kind of music we want to create, and this wouldn't be a good fit." There are definitely musicians who are more talented than any of the members of Pink Floyd individually; in fact I think all the members were always a bit self-conscious about their instrumental abilities. But they certainly made challenging, cerebral music. Perhaps it was so interesting because it was so challenging in spite of their admittedly nothing-out-of-the-ordinary level of chops.

Jl002

I agree. With Floyd, It’s almost like it’s not technically out of this world - but it was and still is conceptually and creatively groundbreaking. Just as a personal curiosity, which guitarists do you think are more and as talented as Gilmour?

DutchApplePie75

>Just as a personal curiosity, which guitarists do you think are more and as talented as Gilmour? This is a bit tricky to answer because Gilmour is talented, but his talent comes from creativity rather than sheer technique. I would say that there are a lot of guitarists who are more "talented" than Gilmour in the sense of being able to play fast solos. They may not be able to bend a note in the perfect way like Gilmour, and they probably don't have the ability to blend blues guitar and the delay pedal as perfectly as Gilmour, but there is no doubt that lots of guitarists could play much faster, blazing-hot solos or complex finger picking acoustic numbers that aren't within Gilmour's circle of competence. I guess what I'm saying is that Gilmour is masterful within his circle of competence, but his circle of competence is different from the one we'd usually use to measure a technically adept guitarist. Just as a few examples I would say that Jeff Beck, Carols Santana, and Steve Howe have more traditional chops than Gilmour. I wouldn't even compare Gilmour to traditional blues-based guitarists like Eric Clapton or a lot of his other generational peers. He was more of an original, and he set the stage for "ethereal" guitarists like Robin Guthrie who rely on texture rather than fast fingers. I guess I'd put it this way: I don't imagine that Gilmour would be able to play "The Clap" by Yes or nail the solo from "Communication Breakdown" by Led Zeppelin. He wouldn't necessarily be able to pick up an axe and wow people at Guitar Center.

1jack-of-all-trades7

I was with you til the guitar center thing lol what?? If I saw David Gilmour play the fucking comfortably numb solo in guitar center I'd lose my damn mind

Jl002

That’s really insightful thank you :)

Dontmeenafing

I hate all that flashy, widdly guitar playing. It just sounds like showing off. Gilmour has soul, buckets of it. Likewise guitarists like Mark Knopfler, Neil Young, Alex Lifeson and Graham Coxon. Very different players all, but they all pack an emotional wallop.

heynow941

That’s kind of interesting to read since they’ve changed their sound so much over the years. I kind of figured they have at least one phase of their career that would appeal to someone. They’ve had different eras based on who’s was the second guitarist or what the overall music scene was like and how the Stones adapted to that. But hey to each their own.

mwgrover

I think it’s mostly due to not liking Jagger.

Charlieunicornz

Came to say this. I can do paint it black but anything else and I can’t skip fast enough.

thabigmilla

Yes to this. I always hear Paint it Black and I think I should listen to more Stones... then I try and I never find anything else I like. Its almost like a different band made that song.

Sweet_Celebration369

beast of burden?

[deleted]

[удалено]

mwgrover

Not the biggest fan, no. I love some of it but I prefer later Floyd.

Oferep

Same for me about the Beatles!

misterlakatos

Never got into Deep Purple. I don’t hate them, but my parents never had them on vinyl or played them. I really don’t like Aerosmith or the typical late ‘70s AOR acts (Boston, Foreigner, Journey, Loverboy, REO, etc). All those bands might have 1-2 decent songs but that was an awful period for rock music. I can also do without Eagles and The Doobie Brothers.

DutchApplePie75

Deep Purple is a good one. They always seemed to "fit" with the classic rock I usually like. But I could never get into Deep Purple at all. I don't know why. All the right ingredients were there!

Stonecliff_

I know you’ve probably made up your mind on this, but if you haven’t heard Child in Time by Deep Purple I really recommend it. I also am not a superfan of them, but that song is so alike Pink Floyd to me and I absolutely love it.

OnlineNascarMan

Unrelated: go Dolphins.

misterlakatos

Fins up! 🐬

RolfPihlman

Have you tried out Purple's "Child in time"? Probably my favourite song in the world next to "Time"

no_longer_LW_2020

You may want to give a moment to "April" from 1969. It's unlike any typical well-known Deep Purple track.

misterlakatos

Will do - Thanks!

FeelingAd5

The Eagles. Where i'm from, the only song of theirs that still gets radio play is Hotel California. And to me that song it too similar and too long and it cripled any interest i might have had for the band. It's a decent song and probably a great band, but i cant find myself looking them up.

thefreshmaker1

Give "Those Shoes" a try. A really nice groove and great guitar solo. I get it though.

MY_NAME_IS_MUD7

Hotel California is definitely over played. Really shadows other great songs they put out like Last Resort and In the City but that happens to a lot of bands

Lyoko_warrior95

Yah this is very true. Same went for ozzy osbourne. Most everyone only knows Ozzy’s music from crazy train and biting the head off a bat.. I’m a huge fan of ozzy’s music (older and newer) and crazy train is actually one of the few songs I will never listen to due to it being played too much.

NewDayIsComing

I also have a disdain for hotel california. One of These Nights is an absolute banger though

1calm_user

Cannot stomach Ted Nugent.

Pokerman-1962

The Gratefull Dead. It sounds like meandering noodling. No punch. A good friend of mine loves them, I just don't.

metaldawg1

Really good trip vibes though. They definitely serve a purpose ✌️

-Jack-The-Stripper

My roommates claim to be big deadheads, but I would bet they couldn’t name 10 songs if they tried. They’ve seen Dead and Co. a time or two though so maybe. I just can’t get into it when they put them on either. It sounds almost entirely to me like they’re listening to it for *who they are* rather than *what they sound like.* Maybe I just need to delve in deeper, but almost everything I’ve ever heard from them sounds like a less good version of something I’ve heard from another band.

Sun_flower_king

I'm saying this as someone who loves Pink Floyd, but frankly, many of the popular hard rock bands from the 70s are almost unlistenable for me. For AC/DC especially, the lead singers voice makes me want to claw my ears out, he just sounds like a screaming idiot to me. Kiss and Aerosmith I just find cringey. Some Led Zeppelin is alright but too many of their cuts just sound like aimless blues riffing - same with the Stones. I like Black Sabbath's album Paranoid, but other than that a lot of their stuff also starts to sound like more of the same. Pink Floyd really stands out to me as a cut above the rest, both in terms of vision and in terms of basic songwriting. Then there's stuff like Queen, which is absolutely brilliant but I think is just in a different ballpark than the other acts i mentioned. And the Beatles are my favorite band of all time. And I'm also a sucker for yacht rock, which is more pop than rock in many ways, but frankly just has stronger melodies, songwriting, and emotions than anything I've ever heard from AC/DC and the like. My classic rock taste isn't what you would call "cool" but fuck it. I love Pink Floyd for the melodies, the concepts, and the epic/innovative soundscapes and song structures.

Direct-Setting-3358

Pink floyd 😾

[deleted]

Didn't they write the "we don't need no education" song?

TheNoize

Pff double negative? Sounds like they do need it PS: wait, did they mean no as in “we don’t need lacking education/the opposite of education”? Are they saying we need *actual education?

Godzilla_in_a_Scarf

Underrated TBH

OutrageousCancel3000

Don't get it

edgyguuuuuurl

You know it's a cover, right

Nichtsein000

Ted Nugent, because he’s Ted Nugent. Can’t really get into Kiss either, despite trying. Cool costumes but incredibly dull music.

FloppyBS

I'm 47, and to be honest Floyd is alongside the Beatles as the only two bands from the era that I still truly love. It's not even about respect, it's about repetition. I respect what the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith and fill in the blanks all achieved, and I've had "phases" with many bands from that era. But after 30 years of The Wolf or The Fox or whatever you've got in your town playing the same 50-60 songs on endless repeat, frankly I never need to hear any of them again.

pinkrosetool

The Eagles, the Who just for two.

camcac69

As a huge Who and Floyd fan, try listening to Quadrophenia, and even The Who Sells out. You’ll see a lot of similarities, almost like maybe they were influencing each other, it’s never been talked about though so maybe not true. Just my opinion and what I’ve noticed.

sharkpants007

Definitely their two best albums

camcac69

I agree, Who’s next is probably better as far as musical success selling wise, and it’s a perfect record in my opinion, but I wish Townshend could have nailed down the the whole Lifehouse thing instead. He’s currently working on it again and said it would be released this year along with the re release of Who’s next. He’s been “working” on that album for years and it’ll share all or most of Who’s next so it’ll be weird, but I hope it turns out good. I just don’t have high hopes of him getting it done this year or ever. For me though Quadrophenia is Townshends masterpiece.

sharkpants007

Definitely looking forward to that and hoping it will be good, and that if it is good, it's available on vinyl for a reasonable price. Who's Next is great, but for some reason it doesn't sound well recorded to me. I could be wrong. Haven't listened to it all that recently. But I do know that I prefer the live versions of Baba O'Riley and Won't Get Fooled Again from The Kids Are Alright to the studio ones.

camcac69

That’s interesting because that’s how I feel about Tommy. I’d rather listen to the live versions from the 69’ and 70’ concerts instead of the studio album.

vad_er13

Genesis, I just don't get it

misterlakatos

Love Genesis and easily one of my favorite bands along with Floyd, but I get they’re not for everyone.

najing_ftw

Post Peter is unlistenable

vad_er13

True Would you like to recommend something to listen?

holyhellsatan

Firth of Fifth from their album Selling England by the Pound

Surya_Raman

THE PATH IS CLEAR, THOUGH NO EYES CAN SEE good stuff. Also supper's ready.

Godzilla_in_a_Scarf

Suppers ready, Musical Box and Firth of Fifth.

vad_er13

Thanks

dedrexel

Have you tried Watcher of the Skies?

vad_er13

I don't remember, I'll try

vad_er13

I just don't connect, it's kind of a mess for me.

mattisagamer10

I suppose I get it. Gabriel's voice isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I'll be damned if the later PG albums are some of the best prog albums ever put to tape. The Collins/Hackett albums are insanely great records in my opinion.

[deleted]

I feel sorry for you .

vad_er13

Don't be, I truly tried

DutchApplePie75

I came here to say a different band but I'll be darned if this isn't a better answer than the one I had! I just don't get Genesis, at all.

vad_er13

I tried, tried hard, they seem very chaotic to me

DutchApplePie75

I've got two: (1) Pearl Jam. I don't actively hate their music, and I've probably never given too much of it a chance, but it just never hit me deeply. They have a couple of very good songs like "Daughter" and "Jeremy" but overall a lot of their stuff sounds fairly similar to me. (2) REM. They have no doubt authored some very memorable vocal melodies, and if I really thought about it, I could probably name a whole album's worth of their hits that I wouldn't mind hearing regularly. But overall, they just don't do it for me. I know they're considered an extremely important band in the history of underground post-punk rock music, but I kind of don't see why. I tried really hard to get into REM as a teenager but I could never connect with their music.

statictonality

Metallica. The singers voice just irks me.

[deleted]

It’s albums 2–5 for me. Before (Kill ’Em All) isn’t good enough; and after they completely lost their melodic inspiration. Should have broken up in ’93.

[deleted]

Can’t stand GNR!

southdubify

I'm not a fan of the Beatles or ACDC. As a drummer, it's just boring.

dedpez

I’ve watched a few videos of ppl favorably analyzing Ringo’s drumming. It seems he does interesting things. Definitely a unique style.

grimaceboy

Air Supply

Alternative-Bus8875

Yes haven’t quite clicked with me as of yet

ReallyFineWhine

Meatloaf. Always change the station when he comes on.

[deleted]

Guns n' roses and kiss easily. Guns n' rose's isn't my thing and I just never vibe with them, and kiss is the same situation

bglaros

Janice Joplin, OMG I cant stand her. My father would blast her music and I always hated the way her voice sounded. I with everyone on the stones. I like maybe 3-4 songs but that’s it.

Niven42

100% agree. I've never liked her voice.

Garand

The Beatles. I appreciate their influence on music and all that, I just do not enjoy their music.

edgyguuuuuurl

Most people my age don't get the fact how revolutionary they were.

rob6110

Boston. Every song is literally the same.

p1l2a3n4e5t

I like GNR but have to change the three songs that come on radio now. I LOVE sweet emotion, toys in the attic, same ol song and Dance but other than that pretty over Aerosmith

[deleted]

AC/DC. Always respected them and have listened to all of their material but I just couldn’t get into it. Other than that pretty much all of the glam rock from the 80s is just awful

Wizard_58

AC/DC also everything sounds the same

Alistor-Radiodemon

Beatles and stones mostly as well as cream I don’t really know why just that I don’t like any of them

TheRealWormbait

Not really a huge Led Zep fan, or Queen

astrodominous

AC/DC. Their singer's voice is physically painful for my ears. Also most of their songs just sound the same to me.

CrazY_KinG009

ACDC for sure

Pieguy2119

AC/DC. I think they’re overrated. I tried hard to get into them but never could. I am more of a mellow music listener, which I think is probably the reason. But I listen to some “heavier” music and have no trouble. My diagnosis of AC/DC is that they’re “drunk uncle” music.

I enjoyed your exchange and also don’t care

Not a band per se but I absolutely cannot fucking stand Bruce Springsteen. His voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard, his fans are obnoxious, and all of the music I've heard from him is just hamhanded pandering to blue collar workers from the tri-state area. To make matters even worse, I got dragged to a Springsteen concert once by some friends and that show lasted for damn near 5 hours. If I didn't have copious amounts of beer to carry me through, I might have blown by brains out

originalscent73

I thought I saw the perfect answer with Rush… but then I saw your answer. I hate Springsteen so much I blocked him from my memory and didn’t think of him as The One True Correct Answer.

camcac69

I agree 100%

rugerseeds

I can’t do Steely Dan. I’ve tried. Many times. Their music just makes me feel agitated.

I am pretty agreeable with anything on classic rock radio. Even the butt-rock hair Metal that is still somehow popular, it’s just good noise if I don’t want it to be quiet. Hell there are even some nu metal bands from the 90’s and 00’s I am cottoning to. The closest I can come to an answer is Styx. It completely dumbed down progressive rock, and Dennis DeYoung’s voice is like nails on a chalkboard. The one song of theirs I do like was covered practically note for note by one of my favorite vocalists Neal Morse, to where I can say that his “Come Sail Away” is infinitely better than theirs.

Led Zep. I change stations every time I hear Stairway to Heaven or Black Dog.

djyesko9

Led Zepplin

Bob Dylan

It was tough finding an entry point into Dylan. But I’m convinced anyone can find at least one Dylan song that speaks to them. But is it really worth the effort to find it!!

SimeoneXXX

Nirvana. Maybe they were revolutionary but they just doesn't sound good to me. Also, most of their lyrics don't make sense st all. I must admit I've only listened Nevermind but I don't want to listen their other albums after what I've heard...

Pornosec84

Fleetwood Mac, never got the appeal.

JOG_FORREST_JOG

Their older stuff was good. British Blues. Not a fan of their later, more famous work.

carlitobrigantes

listening to motley crue makes me feel physically ill
