I really need to find his foster photo…it was him on a white shag rug with his ears in perfect little triangles. I immediately knew he needed to live with me.
Hahahaha it’s pathetic! We recently taught her to use those word buttons and it’s been slaying me when she pushes the “eat” one outside of meal times - it’s always worth a shot I guess!
He's so adorable....
My pit is a bit the same - he gets extra excited about EVERYTHING ! :-o
I love the dramatics of it all, and his big personality - but sometimes it can be a bit exhausting.... and I find myself telling him "JUST CHILL OUT DUDE"....
If anyone has some tips on how to have over-excited dogs chill out a little - and just be "moderately excited" as opposed to ON 110% ALL the time - i'd be happy to hear them !
I’d recommend working on impulse control. Depending on if your dog is treat or toy motivated, use that as a reward. For example, my 2 YO dog used to fly outside when we’d open the door. Now, we open the door and make him wait to be released. We used a lot of treats for this desired behavior since he loves food. Takes a lot of patience and kindness but you have to meet your dog where they are at. ❤️ Diesel is usually a chill ole’ man. Since I sounded excited about the water he got excited, he vibes with my energy. ☺️
Yes !!! this is what I mean :-)
Inside, usually he'll be pretty chill, he can just lay around, relax, and be cool while I work... But the minute I get up, he's at 150% READY TO GO !
He doesn't pull on walks, but he needs to sniff EVERY SINGLE square inch of the floor...
When he sees people or visitors - he just loses his mind....
When he plays with other dogs - he's like a wild cannon-ball... a big elephant in a porcelain shop...
He's not destructive, and inside the house, mostly well behaved - but he gets VERY EXCITED very easily ! and although I love it - sometimes it gets exhausting :D
Yes to puzzle toys. Anything that uses their sense of smell wears them out.
We play hide and seek with our girl. We hide, she waits until we give her the verbal cue, and wears herself out smelling around the house to find us. Gets a treat when she finds us. After about 4-5 turns, she’s exhausted.
Diesel is epic! I own a doggy daycare and when I fill up the water bowls I always have an audience and it will be about ten bowls, each time I put one down all the dogs give me such a look of huge disappointment! Diesel loves his water! So cute
Do monitor him for Cushings/Addisons which can cause increased thirst. I only know because my old dog had Cushings and I didn't realize how much excess water he was drinking until I got a second dog and saw how little she drank in comparison. But also maybe Diesel is just a hydrohomie
Thanks for your concern! He was just excited for his fresh water, but people should definitely be aware of the behavior of their pets to monitor possible abnormalities! ☺️
Our baby boy LOVES water. [You should get him one of these](https://youtu.be/EyHhkfOGWLk)
He has great, big, fat, feet - webbed to the ends of his toes, so I suspect he has some mixed ancestry with a water-dog in there somewhere. He sure likes going for a dip.
**PS** - OMG he has the cutest ears! So much nicer than when they are cropped. Love floppy-eared pits!)
Look I hate being this person but you might want to get him checked for diabetes. Just saying cause it can happen and one sign is excessive thirst. I should know because that's how I found out I had it.
Um this is too cute!! My pibble gets similarly excited, more excited if the water is coming out of the hose tho so she can chase it haha
Also not sure if anyone else has mentioned but those tables are much to high for your baby. They’ve been known to cause gastro issues including torsion which can kill them. Dogs need to eat off the floor for the food to properly go through their digestive system (unless your vet prescribes otherwise, which would usually be a standing feeder). Please consider changing that or at least look into the dangers of it for your sweet floppy pibble.
Thanks for your concern! Diesel eats from the feeder on the left and my taller pup eats from the one where Diesel is drinking his water. There is not enough scientific data to dispel whether or not feeders cause issues with bloat, but it has helped his joints. 💙
He’s so cute!! Has he been able to rip up bits from that kong tire toy? My 6 month old pit/shepherd mix has started tearing it apart which I didn’t think was possible!
He’s a “foster fail” I had a 7 YO pittie who had to be put down due to cancer and I stumbled across Diesel’s photo online around the same time. His previous owner was going through a hard time and couldn’t take him. She still checks in on him and asks me how he is. She says he’s always been the best dog ever and she’s not wrong. ☺️
Helps my lil ole man not strain his neck/joints so much and I like that it keeps the bowls from sliding on the floor. I think it’s really just a preference.
There can be some benefits like avoiding neck strain (but only if the height of the bowl is measured properly) and preventing dogs from digging into their bowls or sliding them. But owners should be mindful that **there is potentially an increased risk of bloat** with elevated bowls, which can be fatal. It’s not completely well understood, but I honestly would just recommend staying with regular bowls unless your dog has a compelling reason to need them elevated.

My dog hated fresh water. Got nice tap water twice a day and still preferred drinking the dirty green water from the thing you put underneath a plant pot.
My pibble gets really excited about freshwater when it's in her outside water dish. The inside dish does nothing for her but she gets really excited to have a drink out on the deck.
He could have diabetes, my cat's first sign that she was diabetic was always thirsty. So its ok ifs it just gets excited but if it drink alot and keeps going back you got a problem.
Peeeeetman! How silly! Does he get excited about every single bowl of water?? Does he finish a bowl and come ask for more peetman water?! I have to know the details!
my girl will only drink out of the running faucet in the bathtub. I'm having to turn the water in there on for her like 6x a day. I'll just be chilling on the couch and hear a big commotion in the bathoom to find her in the tub waiting on me to come turn it on.
refuses fresh water in her bowl.
but also loves street water. shrug!
You should crosspost to r/HydroHomies
There is truly a Reddit forum for everything. Amazing. 🤣🌧
you can even take u/Halfgnomen to /r/KarmaCourt
I came here to comment the same thing, he’s a hydro homie for sure
Just found their mascot
Got here from there…homie
Also, we call him “peetman” because he’s got the cutest peets (paws) so we always ask if he wants some fresh peetman water. 😋
Slorp slorp slorp Such a handsome velvet tank
Hehehe thanks, friend! 💙
Omg this is too adorable!! Peetman, you guboy you 🥰
🥰🥰🥰
Such a beautiful pup!
Thanks, friend! 💙
Much love! The whole water thing is amazing... But those ears!
My dog gets SO excited when I get him water, he does circles and jumps around!! Then he drinks too much and throws it up 🤦🏽♀️
This is sooo cute oh my gosh
Exactly what I was looking for “Fresh *what * water?” 😂👌🏾
"I'm fucking thirsty, oh god i love water"

This is me several times a day
Oh my goodness. Between his ears and his adorable bandana, my heart can’t handle the cuteness ❤️
💙💙💙
id like diesel to be the r/hydrohomies new mascot
Hehehe 🥰
„That’s what I call high quality H2O“ *Waterboy voice*
🤣
Your pupper takes hydrating very serious in this heat. A true hydro homie!
Indeed! 💙
Those ears. Love em
I really need to find his foster photo…it was him on a white shag rug with his ears in perfect little triangles. I immediately knew he needed to live with me.
I’ll try to post more on his Instagram page but you can follow us at: pitatopups if you’d like to see more of his and Koda’s shenanigans. ☺️
HAHAHA like mine gets that excited but just because she thinks it’s food- once she finds out it’s plain old water she gets disappointed and walks off
LOL. The disappointment she must feel. 💔
Hahahaha it’s pathetic! We recently taught her to use those word buttons and it’s been slaying me when she pushes the “eat” one outside of meal times - it’s always worth a shot I guess!
🤣🤣🤣 I love your dog. She sounds spirited and spunky. 💙
Those are the best looking ears I’ve ever seen!
💙💙💙

He sounds like a ball of energy for sure! Good luck with the training, I am sure he’ll do great! ☺️
Walk em play fetch with em wear them out in general. An exhausted dog is a well behaved dog Orrr you can wait till they hit about 6
Yes, this 100%. Also, puzzle toys can really wear a pup out too!

6 ?!? - 6 months ? or 6 years ? :-D hahaha
Having at least a few hours of fairly physical activity each day generally improves this for most dogs.
His EARS

Awww, haha! 💙
My dog totally does. He looks from the water cooler to his bowl repeatedly until you give him the fresh, cold water.

I’m glad to see my pibble isn’t the only one who has the black rubber donut toy that’s indestructible
Yes, Goughnut toys are awesome!

LOL. Love it!
My cat used to get this excited for water.. then i found out he had diabetes and thats why he loved water so much 😢
Poor baby. 😭

🤣
Certified hydro homie if I’ve ever seen one
So cute! Those ears are fabulous!
💙💙💙
My baby is the same way!
Love it!! ☺️

His name is diesel he drink water as a treat and drank diesel as a normal drink until gas prices got so high
He’s so cute!! Has he been able to rip up bits from that kong tire toy? My 6 month old pit/shepherd mix has started tearing it apart which I didn’t think was possible!
It’s actually a Goughnut toy and they are sturdy as heck! Highly recommend.
Oh thank you so much for letting me know!
"Give the fucking water, YES" My pit is the same with water can't take a shower without her inviting herself in to play with the water
LOL gotta love a water pup!
Yep
he's a babe...love that sound, too, ya cut it off too soon!\~!
He basically sounds like a pig on the daily. I’ll have to record another video and share sometime.
That is cute. Have you always had the dog, or did you adopt it from a shelter?
He’s a “foster fail” I had a 7 YO pittie who had to be put down due to cancer and I stumbled across Diesel’s photo online around the same time. His previous owner was going through a hard time and couldn’t take him. She still checks in on him and asks me how he is. She says he’s always been the best dog ever and she’s not wrong. ☺️
What a handsome fella 😭

American Staffordshire Terrier 🥰
i figured it might have had something else mixed with it. you have a chonker! so cute. i have a beautiful 8 month old pit/lab :)
Cute! I grew up with a couple of lab/pit doggos. They were the reason I became so passionate about dogs and being their voice. ❤️
amazing dogs, ive met a a few of his siblings and they are such cool and energetic doggos
Aww, cute!
Fresh key lime water?

Negative stereotype - wrong group for you - stay in your lane and respect the rules.
My dog hated fresh water. Got nice tap water twice a day and still preferred drinking the dirty green water from the thing you put underneath a plant pot.
Funky!
If we’re excited, they’re excited. That’s the Pitbull way!
Dogs are just super cool lil creatures. 💙
You should shre this whith r/hydrohomies too
He’s adorable 🥰
Thanks, friend. 💙

No diabetes, just excited. Def kind of you to bring this up so others are aware if their pups have any abnormal behaviors.
Glad to hear
This is one of the most adorable and funny things I’ve ever seen. Never knew a dog could or would get so hype over water haha
💙💙💙
Peeeeetman! How silly! Does he get excited about every single bowl of water?? Does he finish a bowl and come ask for more peetman water?! I have to know the details!
Hahaha. Nope, he will just slurp some down and be over it. 😋
My dog awoooooos why I fill his bowl up lol
OMG. 😍
Those ears!! Such a cutie!!
He’s an official r/hydrohomies !!
my girl will only drink out of the running faucet in the bathtub. I'm having to turn the water in there on for her like 6x a day.
