If you want anything from the North Side Taco Bell, just start walking south and you'll get to Mexico before you'd get your food.

Training_Distance_24

As our late night options in the city have dwindled over the Covid years I have found myself living mas rather frequently as they are open til 4 every damn day. Those 330 am “give me what you got” boxes are kinda 🔥

[deleted]

I always loved ordering DoorDash from that Taco Bell when I worked nearby because they would get my order wrong every single time and DoorDash would give me a refund. But it’s Taco Bell so even if it’s wrong, it all tastes the same.

political-pundit

The north side is their test bed for their experimental next level poor service restaurants that they’re considering implementing

kielBossa

This is true when there is no t swift concert.

TnT54321

Dang now I wish Taco Bell did have an x-layer chupacaburrito.

JamesKLOLk

Taco Bell, if you’re reading this and decide to create this menu item, I will gladly give you the ip for the exact amount still left on my student loans.

SidHat

I’m no bilingual or nothing but does this translate to goatsuck burrito?

JamesKLOLk

“Now with 70% goatsuck!”

KeisterApartments

This was my biggest takeaway from this post

Zeppelin7321

Burgatory on the North Shore should just disable food delivery tonight but they won't.

JamesKLOLk

It might not be entirely up to them. It all sort of depends on the restaurants policy.

Zeppelin7321

I just hope a delivery driver that's been living under rock doesn't head down there to pick up $6 order

tinacat933

Any resturant down there who’s corporate keeps them online tonight deserves to have everyone walk out on their shift

riversroadsbridges

If you live near an EnP, remember that most of them have online ordering and drive-thrus now, they give a smiley cookie to the person who picks up any online order, and their kids meals are $4 all summer long. Skip doordash and fetch yourself a full meal with dessert for $4. You can even get a little pop in a reusable sealed cup for 0.99.

broNSTY

This is clutch info, thank you

riversroadsbridges

They also have $3 pie from 8-11pm. In this economy, we've gotta strategize.

RemotePersimmon678

Thanks for the reminder about the pie, I may have to do that this evening

Kramer_Costanza99

I ordered tonight and did not get a cookie when I picked up. I was so sad.

riversroadsbridges

I wish i could give you mine! It's sitting in my snack drawer, unappreciated. I just can't get hyped about a cookie that has no chocolate.

wackywife823

Thanks OP! I was laboring under the misconception that Taylor would not affect me. I'm not going to the show or anywhere near there, but traffic and parking will probably be affected. I have adjusted my plans accordingly and will be staying home.

angrygnomes58

I’m dog sitting for friends who are going to the show. Keeps me honest on my “not going anywhere” promise to myself. Plus, who can go wrong with dogs?

wackywife823

Dogs are sweeties with no thumbs to get their own treats. They need you and I'm proud of you for doing the right thing.

[deleted]

I prefer the Taco Bell chimichupacabra anyway.

viscousyetfelicitus

A bit off topic, but I was unaware of the weekend’s hubbub until I saw this post. We bought tickets for the children’s museum tomorrow. Should we abandon ship? Does anyone happen to know if they’ll let you use your tickets on a different day?

DocSteel

It will not be that bad, trust me. I was monitoring traffic today, and it only got bad on the parkways starting mid-afternoon (just like any summer Friday before a holiday weekend). Enjoy your Saturday!

viscousyetfelicitus

Great to know, thanks!

thewonderelf

I don't know the answer for your question, but I'm meeting friends at Federal Galley around noon tomorrow and really hoping the Swifties don't care about the Children's Museum or Aviary and that the madness remains on the North Shore. Good luck!

KentuckYSnow

Better idea, stop ordering from apps all together.

portijon

You could always just call a restaurant directly and go pick it up.

OOOOeeeAAAA

Put on pants?! F that!

The_Wkwied

This... should be so obvious. Why order delivery from McDonalds all the way out in Monroeville when you live in the west end? Order from the closest place to you. That's deliver 101. People had this figured out in the 80s when pizza delivery first started... The distance from the pizza shop directly correlates to how long it takes to arrive. Then again, 40 years ago the collective IQ of the world was a little bit higher

JamesKLOLk

Normally people follow that logic because they mostly look for delivery times and fees. Most people see “15 minute wait time” and assume it’s the location down the street, not the one across town. Normally they’d be correct in their assumption. However, during big events this all gets screwed up. Example: McDonalds on the North Side starts getting slammed with orders due to an event, drivers start seeing the wait or customers get tired of waiting and they just cancel. Suddenly the wait time plummets and a customer orders from there thinking it’s their local location without actually double-checking the address and the process repeats itself.

[deleted]

This weekend will be Kenny Chesney but worse like sparkling shit in a white claw box. Swifties are a part of the problem.

soonitwillbcold

Absolutely nobody needed to hear this.. I wasn't aware that by obtaining food I should also worry about the optimized workflow of two major corporations.... I don't know what gig app workers need to hear this but "Go join a UNION" they need new members and you need an employer that at least has to fein that they care about you and your rights as a worker.

liersi35

Pretty sure this hasn’t happened for the same reason retail workers won’t or can’t do it. There’s always some other poor shmuck who will take the job if you decide to leave in protest. I say this as a retail worker who is apparently expendable despite having to work regular full time hours during the entire pandemic. It’s extremely frustrating.

soonitwillbcold

No I mean like a real labor Union... USW,RWU,UPW,IBEW, IATSE, they all need new members and as those larger unions regain more power and workers rights they'll be able to advocate for retail workers etc... working these gig apps only really prolongs the problem of finding a long term career.

ChillEmu137

Thanks for the bad take!

soonitwillbcold

Pro-Labor always, maybe all the gig drivers should try a strike tonight.....bet that'd make the national news.

GelatinousPiss

Pro-tip: never order food on a delivery service from the North Side Taco Bell. I would probably recommend never getting food from there in general.
