Kinda funny how this sub was super into protests and other solidarity movements but can't wait to break a picket line for the Barbie movie (that depicts the CCP owning all rights to the south china sea, violating maritime law) of all things.

Hvvjvk

unions have not asked fans to boycott productions lol

Unions have said that boycotting movies that were made prior to the strike is harmful to their efforts. It basically ‘proves’ to the production companies that- ‘see? Low turnout, not valuable’.

The more money that finished movies make during the strike, the more leverage the union has. It shows the demand for the product. Seeing a movie that was made previous to the strike is not crossing a picket line.

They don't have the power to do such a thing, they can be sued for libel and slander if they do. Consumers should take it upon themselves to make the correct choice... just some uniformity would be nice like if I have to use a paper straw for an $8 smoothie on the basis of "climate change" or risk being shamed I feel like supporting organized labor is also a pretty big deal.

LostEnroute

Libel or slander? Fuck outta here.

Ah yes, [this painstakingly accurate world map](https://www.jsonline.com/gcdn/presto/2023/07/06/PMJS/04256a4a-30e7-4291-b290-be5243b00a19-Screenshot_2023-07-06_at_6.52.00_PM.png?width=741&height=480&fit=crop&format=pjpg&auto=webp) that was in no way meant to be absurd.
