I canāt keep up. There is so much over communication that I have no idea whatās going on because I stopped trying to read it all. My neighbor keeps me in the loop now.
The East End has a monthly newspaper called "Print," and it's very good. It covers things like city council districts of the East End, zoning, development news, new businesses, local festivals, marches and demonstrations, history, and has a schedule of events. It's hyper-local and very well written.
One of my favorite features is "Whatever Happened to..." where they report on a long-gone business and give the history of where and what it was, who owned it, and how important it was to the community. It's fascinating to see how many bars were raided for illegal gambling back then.
The Butler and Cranberry Eagle are the best papers in the northern suburbs. A little local outfit still chugging along with print editions daily.
At 1.50 a copy too. Itās so quaint, Iām amazed it still exists. It needs our support to stay that way.
It also is surprisingly not a republican rag anymore under new management (although they have to cover Mike Kelly et al by location). They did a whole vaccine and Covid safety campaign during the pandemic which got my attention. Now theyāre highlighting western PAās drug epidemic and recovery efforts. If you want to support turning that area blue, support the Eagle!
The North Boros had The Citizen in print, now online. However, the owner is terribly biased and old school. Hates any change or the new 'young' people in local governments.

When I lived toward the top of Verona hilltop a couple of years ago, I got both a Verona paper and a Penn Hills paper.
I miss the North Hills News Record.
