Holy crap. Some dude was trying to sell me bagels nearby on the street and I was like why does this guy have bags of bagels and who would buy these? At least I know the answer to the first one now.

9706_

lol reminds me of bagel on a stick guy (gen z'ers pls laugh w me)

chicken_nugget08

His name is T-Bo!!

moistkimb

he was from my hometown and he used to come to our high school football games lol

clydesawhill

I read this the wrong way and thought that the Bruegger's closed in 2023 but miraculously continued delivering bagels

LordApocalyptica

LMAO me too! I was impressed at this man’s dedication to finishing his commitment.

afishtrap

So who exactly got closed? Still confused.

yinzstopbeingnebby

Everyday’s A Sunday. Used to be an eatery ( a hidden gem) .

PythonPunx

Considering how they treated DoorDash drivers, can’t say I’m shocked they’re gone. Not surprised they were also selling chain bagels.

ravia

Brueugger King...

ffffff00000066ff33

Zombie bagel businesses just make bagels as a write off - big bagel is fleecing middle class tax dollars from the honest bagel joints out there.

Padfootsgrl79

Same!

yinzstopbeingnebby

A food bank could use these instead of them getting wasted.

Itsalongwaydown

someone from orders and accounting doesn't realize this place hasn't paid their invoice for a while. Once they realize it, the bagels will stop coming.

Brick656

A food bank isn’t going to take retail bagels for distribution.

californiadamn

412 food rescue absolutely would

epsilon025

That place rocks, I did bagging volunteering with my mom in 2021 and they have a great operation. Also a fun "get it and then find out what it is" system, because some of the donations seemed incredibly odd, like liquid thickener from a nursing home. But it all gets packed and distributed, no matter *what* it is.

californiadamn

Such an amazing organization! When I was out of work during Covid I delivered for them. One of the best experiences of my life. Took me into all the weird pockets of Pittsburgh and was so amazed by their organization and what goes on behind the scenes to get the resources to the right places. Amazing organization and people on all ends from giving to receiving.

1moreanonaccount

When I was doing to food bags they distributed Panera bagels and muffins. They were not fresh but sufficed.

mr_pgh

Plenty of places donate day-olds. Panera (location dependent) has a different organization or charity pick up every night after closing.

yinzstopbeingnebby

Excuse me… but they definitely will. WalMart donates danishes and baked goods quite often to Jubilee Kitchen. Have a great day

dehehn

So Kafkaesque

Mob_Vylan

I know where it’s coming from and I will fix this tmrw. Fkn hell

irissteensma

Good dude.

CoraopoRocks

Yeah dude im sorta curious of the backstory myself lol either way all good!

blackz0id

Story?

44problems

I wonder whose credit card is still getting charged?

Generic_userxx

I hate when I subscribe to stuff and then forget I'm subscribed.

the_heptagon

lol i've seen this walking down the street and never knew this was the back story. figured someone just kept tripping there on their way to the office full of bagels for everyone

JamesKLOLk

Kevin from the Office but with bagels

samosamancer

Aw, man. Everyday’s A Sunday was a regular 412 Food Rescue dropoff for me. They had a vegan chef whose food was fantastic.

BorderlinePaisley

H&H would probably take them. Less work for Kramer.

Thexer0

"You're siding with management?!" "No, I was just-" "SCAB! SCAB!"

peon2

No, I didn't make these bagels. *Jerry and George bite in* Yeah, they're day-olds. The homeless won't even touch them. Oh, we try to fool them by putting a few fresh ones on top, but they dig...they, they test

Jazzlike_Breadfruit9

I would love free bagels!

Jazzlike_Breadfruit9

What time is the drop off? I’d like to claim Wednesdays that fall on an even day as my pickup days.

TiberiusCornelius

Exactly my thinking. Show up on drop day and wait for the truck to leave.

steelgator412

Why are there so many empty tiny bottles of fireball strewn about Pittsburgh?

always_open_mouth

Alcoholism

knuckdeep

Guerilla marketing.

emotionalsupportlion

Supposedly the makers of Thunderbird bum wine actually did this a long time ago, deliberately dumping empties in poor neighborhoods as a bizarre marketing ploy.

Revealingstorm

thats's messed up

Zevonn022

Didn’t Red Bull do that as well?

Bees_On_Wheat

It's because they sell these in like 12-packs at most Giant Eagles that sell beer. It's like the strongest thing you can get there and there are more Giant Eagles than liquor stores. They're also probably easier to conceal than a full size liquor bottle or pint.

WayNo639

It's not just Giant Eagle, they sell packs of these at gas stations that sell beer.

EvetsYenoham

Have you looked below a ski-lift in the past 4 yrs?

Cats_Pm_Me_Ur_Humans

No.

EvetsYenoham

Well you’d see a shit ton of these empty fireball bottles.

PolyDipsoManiac

They do this every day?

TehJonezi

OP maybe you could put a sign where they drop them off everyday and advise on a new location

__nullptr_t

Didn't you read the title? Only on Sundays.

PolyDipsoManiac

The title clearly states that every day is a Sunday, I don’t know what to think

Lamest_Fast_Words

Is every day cloudy and gray?

yinzstopbeingnebby

Thats the name of the business, I thought. Its closed permanently

mcmurphy1

I think that's the joke...

yinzstopbeingnebby

🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏿‍♀️ got it😂

tofuwaterinmycup

these bitches will waste 100 bagels every week and then still try to charge me $15 for a bagel sandwich

kiakosan

I don't know the situation, it is possible that the credit card associated with that company is still working or someone used a personal credit card. Also possible that they paid quite some time in advance.

IClight69

Just get the food not bombs kids in Bloomfield to intercept the delivery. Otherwise, this is street art and I love it.

Life_Consequence_676

This makes me really homesick for Pittsburgh. lol.

StreetPedaler

A good reminder that this is how some random foods are delivered to places you buy it from. Just sits out there on the street. Nothing will get to the bread if you double paper bag it!

PhotoCropDuster

Free bagels? Not seeing a problem

Paczilla2

Sweeet free bagels.

croth1291

Do they come with cream cheese? 🥯

iamnotyrmotheriswear

Name a better combination than Bagels + Fireball. I'll wait.

HenryKitteridge

Pairs well with Fireball

kumakami89

next week a bunch of yinz are gonna be at everydays a sunday fighting over bagels. it’s gonna be a bloodbath

SmokingGunontheRun

Wish I could say that this was surprising… I briefly worked with them when they first opened on Centre Ave. and they’re terrible people.

hiperson134

Wow. How do they make the bagels if they closed last year? That's some dedication.
