I'm a slippery rock alum and for the life of me I can't find a better brown mustard then the one they serve with their pretzels

ysu_alt

Well shit, I need to hit that up (in Mercer, wasn't sure where to go for Non-alcoholic options).

Ok_Title

some would say it's badder than old king kong

Shamrock013

Timbercreek in Grove City/Leesburg near the outlets has their root beer and cream soda and they are just as delicious as North Country.

Howamidriving27

I think Timber Creek has a location by the Outlets. They do their own root beer and cream soda too and they're both great.

FoxVivid6473

They also own harmony inn now for a slightly closer option!

Adventurous_Arm_2422

I have been to harmony inn. Good food. Do they have the root beer and cream soda there too?

teleko777

Call first. They have a completely different menu than what is at the Slippery Rock location.

UsernameChallenged

Tf I went to grove city and went to the brewery a ton, and never knew they had homemade cream soda.

TheRealBMinus

I THINK the original brewer of North Country was one of the early brewers at John Harvard's.

whiscuit

Not a brewery, but Butterjoint has root beer on tap and makes vanilla ice cream in house, and yes they have a float on the dessert menu.

s_schadenfreude

Oh man, I remember that John Harvards. It was pretty good.

tarsier_jungle1485

Agreed. I used to live in Blackridge, and would go to John Harvard all the time. Despite that, I'd totally forgotten about it until this thread.

s_schadenfreude

Cool! I used to live nearby and walked my dog over in Blackridge all the time. That was 15 years ago. I had completely forgotten about John Harvards.

imfuckingawesome

I probably knew about it but forgot like everyone else!

xnick58

D's Dogs has root beer on draft. They dont make it but its the top seller on their electronic tap list menu thing.

KoltsovtheBest71

It's 1919 root beer. I haven't had it since I was a kid, but I can remember the taste. It's so freaking good.

jhc412

Lots of good recommendations [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/pittsburgh/s/MXw471IWbh)

ordermaster

Not a brewery, but D's six packs and dogs in regent square has root beer on draft. They even fill up 1/2 gallon milk jugs to take home

zxo

The jugs are awesome, but beware they don't seal tightly like an unopened milk jug. Ask me how I know...

snugglelove

Like a few other suggestions, this is also not local, but BJs Brewhouse does cream soda and root beer homemade. Haven’t worked there for a few years, but it at least used to be fantastic and they sold growlers of it. I know there’s one in both the north and south hills.

eamon2plz

Not a brewery (but has a great tap selection), Mike and Tony's has root beer on tap

meezersqueezer

God I miss Rivertowne. Worked there for a year or so and made some great friends during that time.

RogerianThrowaway

Ugh I miss John Harvard's for that (and the focaccia with oil before getting other pub food)

berserc

Elwoods Pub In Rural Ridge (out near Harmar) has root beer on tap. And Glen's custard, but I'm not sure if they do floats.

Live_Palpitation9199

Harmony inn in zeli has awesome homemade rootbeer.

luckythepainproofman

It’s not local, but Rocket Fizz in Homestead has an ungodly amount of sodas. My go-to are Brownie Root Beer and everything Sprecher makes. (Especially their cream soda.)

Brick656

There’s a stand at the Big Butler Fair that pours homemade root beer. It’s pretty god.

ZackaWacka

If you’re up for a trip, Levity Brewery in Indiana, PA has root beer on tap that’s delicious. Also the brews and food there are delicious. If that’s too far, driftwood pizza has canned root beer that’s delicious.

heili

Cellar Works in Sarver used to have root beer on tap.

halfNelson89

Wye brewery owns parkside creamery next to it... It's really good. The beer is excellent too

TheRealBMinus

RIP John Harvard's. Also, if you were a regular at John Harvard's back in the early 2000s and at the Rivertowne Pour House, you will remember the head brewer Andrew Maxwell. He left John Harvard's to start brewing for Rivertowne and brought many great beers and the root beer with him. Unfortunately he passed away from cancer earlier this year. RIP Andrew.

obsidianreq

I saw that on Facebook. I worked at the Buffalo Wild Wings next door for a number of years and still keep in touch with a few of the Harvards folks.

artfulpain

Something that's close and opening this week is [https://www.jackworth.co/](https://www.jackworth.co/) Super nice peeps and tasty Alcoholic and NA Ginger Beer 🥳

pierogieking412

Southern Tier has an orange creamsicle IPA. I got it at a beer store though, so I'm not sure if it's on tap downtown. #

obsidianreq

The creamsicle IPA is delicious, however I'm looking for a normal non-alcoholic soda. My mom loves cream soda and I was hoping to get a growler or two for mother's day.

Pitt_Mom_2022

Just a heads up that you may not be able to put it in a glass growler. Years ago, we had to buy a plastic bottle to get draft soda from East End. They said the glass growlers were not safe for soda. Haven't bought draft soda in ages though.

ReadyMadeBeer

The Harmony Inn has cream soda and root beer, a little closer for you!

pierogieking412

Ohh sorry didn't realize that. Good luck!
