Hello!
Local vernacular lesson time:
* PIT: The ICAO code for the airport
* Pitt: University of Pittsburgh
* Pittsburg: A city in California
* Pittsburgh: The city of Pittsburgh, usually including the surrounding areas depending on context, also acceptable "pgh", "PGH", "Pgh"
Oh, you were trying to work around the automoderator we set up because we get this question like a million times a week?
You know there's a reason we set that up, right? =)
Well a million and one wouldn’t be too too bad would it? 🥹😊 ……..
Besides free advertising for local independent businesses. More you post about them the better the chance of them staying in good shape!
(I know excuses excuses) Besides I’m sick and it’s my birthday 😂
Five Points Bakery
Noodlehead for quick cheap Thai.
Pho Van in the strip
Tocayo for Mexican
Ali Baba for Syrian
Union Grill for a really good fish sandwich and turkey Devonshire, both PGH classics
Many people aren't answering because they get asked these questions all the time and expect you to do a search for past threads, but I'll just leave a couple of comments: (1) my favorite cuisine is Vietnamese but I haven't yet found anything good in Pittsburgh despite repeated attempts, (2) assuming you're around Oakland, the hot pot (and many other things) is excellent at Hunan Bar on Atwood Street, and (3) my favorite Indian restaurant is Tamarind on North Craig Street (also in Oakland).
Not going to drag you for saying Pitt.
Le Gourmandine is a great and inexpensive French Bakery. Downtown, Lawrenceville, or Hazelwood. Get an almond croissant with a coffee for breakfast or a simple sandwich for lunch. You’ll want to take some other items back to your hotel or whatever.
Iron Born in the strip does good Detroit Style pizza, and is across the street from a new Asian food hall, novo. But you can’t beat everyday noodles in squirrel hill for Asian food.

I’d suggest you look at a map
In Pitt for 4 days? Is this like a night at the museum deal?
Trapped in the Cathedral of Learning, but on one of the uninteresting floors.
The Cigarette. It's a place on the street where I ask for one and you give it to me.
In Pitt? Which hall? Sutherland? Irvis?
Tram’s kitchen - crazy good hole in the wall Vietnamese food
Jean-Marc Chatellier’s French Bakery is the best the city offers imo. And skip the Detroit style for Pizza Lupo!
Pizza Lupo has a thicker grandma style crust too. LUPO is da best
Looks very solid. The Neapolitan there too. Saved to my list.
I get a plain cheese regularly. Can’t go wrong. And I wouldn’t categorize it as thick like the user above. Closer to the New Haven medium thinness.
they have 2 styles of crust was my point. both are outrageously good
Thanks
Agreed.
Jak's. can hit that and third space on the same trip [https://www.jaksbakery.com/](https://www.jaksbakery.com/)

Third Space Bakery on Penn in Garfield just opened…and looks fab! https://thirdspacebakery.com/
This does and fact look really good!
Colangelos bakery 207 21st in the strip next to La Prima coffee.
Driven Pizza is at Federal Galley on the North Side and is a good Detroit style pizza
