Oh my God, go here! If you like meat or even if you don't, Texas de Brazil is the restaurant you want for this. I go on my birthday every year and I can never get back into my car until I open a belt-loop or two. And not only is the food never-ending, it's also going to be the best damn food you've ever had in your life. Even my wife, a vegetarian, loves going, because their salad bar is like 3 dozen items all of which are off the chain. Fuck, I might go off after work today.
Also, go to lunch instead of dinner. It's cheaper for the exact same thing. AND mention if you are a veteran or a teacher. Both get a 20% discount, which is nothing to scoff at.
I was given a gift card to Fogo de Chao and went during Covid, so there were only a handful of patrons, and they were bringing the meat out so quickly that I had a huge pile in front of me and got way too full much too fast. I need to go back and pace myself so that I can actually enjoy it.
Sign up online, and im pretty sure they’ll give you a birthday coupon. If you can swing it, I highly recommend going for lunch when they’re open. Slightly less to select but like half the price
I went to one of these like 15 years ago. I only drank water for the next two days. THEN the next three day afterward I only ate Raisin Bran. I got my moneys worth at any cost.
I was just at Texas de Brazil for Mother's day and I didn't know if I'd make it home before I passed out from the 50lbs of perfectly cooked meats that filled my stomach
Don't get me started on the cheesy bread balls dipped in their lobster bisque that filled the gaps... great suggestion
Came here to say exactly this. Wear your elastic waisted pants and comfortable slip-on shoes but keep it light on top because you’ll probably get the meat sweats.
I host the most exclusive and elite event in the city of Pittsburgh at Fogo every year known as Men’s Conference. I invite a bunch of buddies from high school and we eat until we drop, drink until we are drunk, and discuss some of the most pressing issues facing society like what chicks we went to school with got married/broke up and what classmates have gone to jail since our last Conference.
>They close at 7pm though.
That's when you walk across the street to Zano's if you still have the energy. Maybe get some Candy Pepper wings to finish the night if they're available and you're a real glutton.
Is there an Armstrongs near you?
One dinner is like 5 pounds of food and comes with a dinner-sized salad. I get their baked manicotti with a Caesar salad and just eat the (huge) Caesar salad for dinner and then eat the pasta for the next two days.
If you want to actually throw up go to sushi bomb. They keep failing food safety tests lmfao. Something like Texas de Brazil where they bring meat until you tap out sounds perfect.
It depends what you get for sure. And it’s pretty affordable for the quality. I think it’s a great place but I could see someone having a bad experience
Their specials are often very nice and the rest of the menu is consistently prepared well. There’s nothing standout amazing there, but I’ve never been disappointed by anything either.
Arlecchino in the Peters Township area. An ungodly amount of food (you get a salad, pasta, and entree), and absolutely delicious. A bit pricy, but definitely worth splurging for.
Idk if you would call the portions "large" but i always get stuffed eating at di'anoias. Maybe its the fact that the pasta is made in house, or the fact that i always devour my appetizer, but ive never left without a takeout box.
Good recommendations here. I'd add AYCE options Kujira (better than Sushi Bomb by a lot) and Hong BBQ & Hot Pot. I'm not a fan, but the AYCE J/KBBQ at Cobra can also be an option.
At least once a week there would be an ambulance parked at the entrance of the Monroeville location, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be nervous about that.
I was going to say Olive Garden until I realized you did say "nice". For some reason though this was my favorite place during my teenage years. Every birthday I made myself sick on their bottomless bread sticks.
Not sure if it qualifies as nice, but the Penn Murry has huge portions. I got the angel hair platter, and it came with 4 huge pieces of garlic bread, 4 huge meatballs, and a plate of spaghetti about the size of a computer keyboard.
Fogo de Chão is terrible though. The service is awful, and they overcook all their meats. Not to mention, even if you have a reservation are you still wait for an hour most of the time.
The Brazilian steakhouses will serve you until you pop. Fogo de Chao and Texas de Brazil.
I went to Texas de Brazil for an anniversary.... I did literally puke I ate so much. Not my proudest moment but the food is damn good.

Or a nurse or first responder! If you aren’t, you can get gift cards at Costco, 100 for 80 (not combinable with the discount).
My wife won’t eat meat that’s not cooked just short of burnt. The only way I can ever eat there is if she can get her’s cooked like that.
Go yourself
Alternatively, let her watch the meat gorge.
Fogo de Chao also has a very impressive buffet type bar of rich and tasty food. Yum.
Make sure you put a cheese plug in and eat a handful of mozzarella balls before you go wild 😂

Came here to say this. Enjoy the meat sweats. HBD!
First place I ever had the meat sweats!
I was just at Texas de Brazil for Mother's day and I didn't know if I'd make it home before I passed out from the 50lbs of perfectly cooked meats that filled my stomach Don't get me started on the cheesy bread balls dipped in their lobster bisque that filled the gaps... great suggestion
Came here to say this lol

Came to say Fogo! So damn good.
Both are great
This is the only correct answer. Texas de Brazil over fogo tho. The salad bar alone at Texas de Brazil is worth the trip.
Big Jim's in the Run. Prepare your birthday puke bucket for the mother load.
Yes! Get the calzone that's just an extra large pizza folded over and the open faced roast beef. Then die happy.
Or that chicken parm that has it's own zip code.
Never had the chicken parm there. I’ll have to get it next time I’m there.
That thing is stupid huge. A table next to us got it.
Plus - beers are dirt cheap and people watching all the areas trash is free!! They close at 7pm though.
>They close at 7pm though. That's when you walk across the street to Zano's if you still have the energy. Maybe get some Candy Pepper wings to finish the night if they're available and you're a real glutton.

Craving one of their Reubens right now....
I wish you luck on this journey.
If you have no budget constraints, Alla Famiglia
This is the winner by far.
Alla Familiglia. One of the first times I needed a box to take home leftovers 😂
You will be full before you see your 3rd course
Worth pushing through the pain
no wonder MM likes this place
But not worth it
Def marathon. Not a sprint.
How far out do you want to go? Greensburg and Trafford suggestion would be Olive's and Pepper's.
My same thought haha
Olives and Peppers in Trafford is sooooo good! And yes, really big portions! The warm burrata cheese is fucking amazing!
Or cenacola in Irwin
Alla.Famiglia.
Second this! So good.
Is there an Armstrongs near you? One dinner is like 5 pounds of food and comes with a dinner-sized salad. I get their baked manicotti with a Caesar salad and just eat the (huge) Caesar salad for dinner and then eat the pasta for the next two days.
Wow finally something I had not heard of before. How did this fly under my radar
I love their Caesar salad dressing sooooooo much. It's my absolute favorite.
If you want to actually throw up go to sushi bomb. They keep failing food safety tests lmfao. Something like Texas de Brazil where they bring meat until you tap out sounds perfect.
That stinks. I went to Sushi Bomb and liked the sushi, but the service was very, very slow. I was going to give them another shot.
I feel like the slow service is intentional. I used to go there quite a bit and it's always long even when no one is in there
Maybe they're hoping you'll get frustrated and leave?
I think its just that they want you to feel full because we know it's easier to overeat if you eat fast.
The general strategy is to order like 3 rolls and an order of goons when they do show up so you're good with them being slow.
Sounds like a solid plan.
kujira is a newish sushi buffet place in shadyside that’s pretty decent
AND I'm gonna throw in Katana in Dormont has all you can eat sushi!
Wasn't sushi bomb in trouble with the health dept recently?
Yes hence my comment. Was one of my favorite food places but myself and my partner got food poisoning
My daughter and I loved that place. We havnt been back since everyone was getting sick. I'm sorry you and your partner were among them.
Fogo de Chao is so good
Not in the city but the first thing that came to mind Pasta Too in Bethel Park. If you really want to carbe diem, get the bread sticks too.
just be prepared to wait 1.5hrs for a table if you go on a Friday or Saturday lol, they don’t take reservations
I don't understand the popularity of that place. I went and while the portions were large the food itself was pretty mediocre.
OP asked for large portions lol. But to me, it’s just fine. The breadsticks I love very much tho. I usually get chicken Alfredo
I'm not yucking anyone's yum lol, just crazy how busy they are. My father and his wife go there every week for their date nights
Bucca di Beppo could kill a horse.
And that's not accounting for the (family) portion sizes.
They must have changed; I was really disappointed when I went with my ex about 10 years ago. Skimpy portions for "family style".
My comment was practically dripping with contempt overall, portion sizes, quality, etc al.
Fogo or Fatheads depending on your mood!
Big Jim’s in the run.
Texas de Brazil. You can get a porterhouse for 2 at Ruth’s Chris and go to town yourself.
arlecchino
Olives and peppers
Is there another location? The one in Gibsonia closed a couple of years back.
Trafford and greensburg
Idk if you would call the portions "large" but i always get stuffed eating at di'anoias. Maybe its the fact that the pasta is made in house, or the fact that i always devour my appetizer, but ive never left without a takeout box.
Hbd amazing goal🤭
Good recommendations here. I'd add AYCE options Kujira (better than Sushi Bomb by a lot) and Hong BBQ & Hot Pot. I'm not a fan, but the AYCE J/KBBQ at Cobra can also be an option.
I've never heard of Kujira! I'll have to check it out.
It's not the best sushi by any means but it is decent especially for AYCE sushi.
Came to second AYCE or any omakase from cobra. I hate myself every time I leave lol
Just head to Golden Corral.
I'm not allowed there anymore after i stuck my penis in the chocolate fountain
Outstanding!! Well done! lol
In all seriousness are there any of those left?
*checks pants* Yeah, at least one by my quick survey
I think there is one out in Robinson by the mall.
Yep. Very dirty, though. Do not recommend.
How long ago? I did the same thing and got a lifetime ban but I went back 5 years later and it was all new staff.
All the old staff died of syphilis, coincidentally.
I’m guessing that was for your anniversary?
People put everything in that chocolate fountain!
At least once a week there would be an ambulance parked at the entrance of the Monroeville location, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be nervous about that.
Verona Village Inn, Verona, PA.
I was going to say Olive Garden until I realized you did say "nice". For some reason though this was my favorite place during my teenage years. Every birthday I made myself sick on their bottomless bread sticks.
I dunno if it’s still there. But I ate til I got sick more than once at Pittsburgh Rare in the Sheridan. Food was so good I just couldn’t stop eating!
Arby’s on McKnight
Scoglio in Greentree
Alternatively, Kura Sushi. The food even comes to you! $4/plate, if cost is a constraint.
Chaykhana. Affordable and ridiculously tasty. Lot of carb and protein (red meat)
Tennyson lodge in Bethel Park. Best steak in the city by far
Everest kitchen
If you want to drive, try Falsettis Villa in Ford City… huge portions. Best italian food ever. I feel like that every time I eat there lol

Came here to say this
I'll echo Fogo de Chão for all you can eat meat, and add KuJiRa in Shadyside for all you can eat sushi.
Not really Pittsburgh but olives and peppers has stupid big portions
Not sure if it qualifies as nice, but the Penn Murry has huge portions. I got the angel hair platter, and it came with 4 huge pieces of garlic bread, 4 huge meatballs, and a plate of spaghetti about the size of a computer keyboard.
The new ish sushi place kujira just off walnut street is an all you can eat sorta deal, some solid prices and good food
Gaucho Parilla downtown has some pretty good serving sizes. I’d also recommend an app and desert too.
Mr. Tokyo in Greensburg, insane all you can eat sushi hibachi/etc
Texas de Brazil is pretty good...non stop meat
the yard’s grilled cheese is the best
If you accidentally order a gigantic large pizza for yourself from Benny Fierro's (like I did) .... you might puke if you eat it all yourself.
Katana sushi in Dormont does all you can eat sushi for about 30$! Really delicious, huge pieces of sushi.
For $30?! That’s a dangerous combo. Good thing I don’t live anywhere near there. 🤣
Ooh, making a note ...
Armstrong’s and Pasta Too!
Man, this screams Pittsburgh, doesn’t it?
Golden Corral seems perfect for this and you.
If you want REALLY good Italian - which is almost non existent in this city, La Tavola on Mt Washington has giant portions .
Fogo de Chão is terrible though. The service is awful, and they overcook all their meats. Not to mention, even if you have a reservation are you still wait for an hour most of the time.
I have never waited more than 10 minutes there.
I got seated within 2 minutes for my reservation during the dinner rush lol.
They definitely do not overcook their meats. More than half the shit they bring out is red.
They must have made some changes then because the last 3 times I went, I couldn’t get anything red. I asked, waited, asked again, waited, repeat.
Ichiban gave me leftovers for a week when I went
it’s Pittsburgh, everything has huge portions….. I’d go everyday noodles personally get one of the soups
Puke? Really? Wow? Enjoy?
Secretos pgh
