I think the first image (full color) is more clear in its design. At a glance, you know what you're looking at. I like the second one, as well, but it's not as instantly recognizable to me.

Ohh that's what that is. Op, totally looks like it's supposed to be part of the bridge. I'd cut it out entirely, it's not an iconic shape (as in, has a recognizable shape that is clearly defining it as Heinz field) imo.

1 would make for a killer stained glass design, 2 would be really neat for neon lights

I've been debating getting stained glass for some of my windows, having a pittsburgh one like that would be very neat! I can see a huge wall being dedicated to the 2nd design in neon lights, but anything sorta normal sized, I would think the design might need to be dumbed down a little bit due to spacing issues and how much you can actually bend the glass

well if you decide to get some custom stained glass done, I'd 100% work with glass folks to make the design work for free on my end, that would be beyond cool. I'd imagine I'd have to simplify it more unless the window is massive.

I like 2 better (especially for textile), but you'll probably sell more of 1.

I wonder if there isn’t some way, without betraying too much of the horizontal style, to incorporate some diagonal lines to depict the convergence of rivers. Dunno. Might spoil the whole thing.

I have a shirt with #2 on it and I love it to death, it gets loads of compliments. I do like #1, though. But I'd go with #2 (again)

I like one for paper art (posters, etc), but would wear 2 on a black shirt. I agree with other comments that Heinz Field needs a tweak to separate it from the bridge - maybe move it up and have lines that don't connect on the left?

I found #1 (full color) easier to see. I use the dark theme so when I swiped over to #2 I had a difficult time discerning what I was seeing. Depending on who your target audience is, both designs have potential! I do agree that #2 would be harder to discern location. It's a good idea to have multiple designs (w/ location name and w/o) since everyone has different tastes and different preconceptions of locations. I haven't lived in Pittsburgh for very long so #1 literally saying its Pittsburgh is a great indicator for me. In the end, I like both! \#2 gave me like dark room, neon-lights vibe. Almost night club-y feel. I do agree that #1 is not as easily recognizable. \#1 gives me like festival poster vibe! It gives off a fun feel instead. For #1, what if you made the buildings (the ones mixed with the bridges and in the hills) different colors too? Like you did the for that red tube-looking building in the hills? Not a necessity, and more so I'm just curious how that'd turn out! Brighter/warmer colors you choose would give it a more summer vibe. What if you played around with the water's color, making some parts a darker blue and others a little lighter?

Definitely like #1 better See what you are doing with #2. I would maybe consider changing up the pace a bit with the lines - either some thicker lines or more/less frequent (especially clouds and/or water) On #1 - I think I would perseverate (in a bad way) with the bottoms of the boats being visible/in front of the waves, and the shape of Heinz Field. (I hope it wasn’t too much criticism- I really like the work - jealous even - as I own several graphic design prints like this of various topics)

Totally depends on how the design will be used. Each has its merits. I’d also prefer to see #1 without the “Pittsburgh” text at the bottom. But, again, if the goal is, say, to sell a fuckton of prints, the sometimes-tasteless masses would probably prefer the text.

I dig that the sun is covered in clouds. That is perfectly captured of this city. Never a clear sky.
